Lil Tjay Is Determined To Succeed On “No No”

One thing that is pretty consistent when it comes to Lil Tjay’s music is that he is never afraid to get personal. Usually, he will focus on topics such as self-confidence, broken relationships, or coming to grips with being alone or just a handful of people. On this latest Lil Tjay single, “No No”, the latter is the thematic focus, and you can hear the rawness coming from him. As per usual, The Bronx native is mixing his high pitch singing with melodic flows over a dramatic instrumental. The latter has a steady groove to it, with sad piano keys and New York drill-esque drums leading the way.

What also seems to be another constant is that Tjay’s tracks are ideal for the late summer nights. “No No” is recapturing that same vibe for us and it will be in rotation going forward. Fans are also enjoying his messages of riding with your closest guys and making it out. However, they are noticing one major issue with “No No”. When you listen to the song, you can hear a slight fuzziness throughout Tjay’s performance. Fans were quick to point out the mixing error in his IG comments. One user writes, “this is a good song but why is the final mixing so horrible, it doesnt sound right at all, rerelease this with mixing and mastering”. Time will tell if the hitmaker makes the adjustments but give “No No” a try below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Back to the heat, can’t relax, now I’m back on my feet
We ain’t never goin’ back to the streets
Money gettin’ long, n****s mad they couldn’t come along
I remember they were laughin’ at me (Laughin’ at me)
Bad energy, trench kid, mad energy
Pray to the Lord ’cause I’m free

Eminem Did Not Diss Jay-Z On New Song “Tobey” According To Royce Da 5’9″

Eminem’s new song “Tobey” featuring BabyTron and Big Sean caused quite the commotion this week, building up hype for The Death Of Slim Shady and turning over detractors of the last single, “Houdini.” However, one particular set of bars had some fans thinking that Marshall Mathers was aiming for Jay-Z’s neck. “Ain’t feelin’ your top five favorite rappers / So I know they about to be pissed at me / But this, to me, is a mystery / How rappers I’ve already ripped could be higher up on a list than me?” he raps on the cut. Billboard and VIBE ranked Em as the fifth best MC of all time in their list of the 50 best rappers last year to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop history around the five-decade anniversary of the art form and culture’s inception.

Hov landed at number one, followed by Kendrick Lamar at two, Nas at three, and Tupac Shakur at four. Given all this, many interpreted Eminem’s lyrics as a possible Jay-Z diss, but according to Royce Da 5’9″‘s response to a curious commenter on Instagram, that’s all cap. “You not gonna answer this but…. They saying Em was throwing a shot at Jay in that Tobey joint. Is that true??” the fan asked. “Of course not,” Royce responded concerning his Bad Meets Evil partner, and we all know that Slim Shady has no qualms about rap beef.

Royce Da 5’9″ Dismisses Rumors That Eminem Dissed Jay-Z

As such, maybe these lyrics are combative, or maybe fans are just reaching here. Either way, it’s hard not to think of Eminem and Jay-Z’s collab “Renegade,” on which Nas famously said that Em “murdered” the Roc Nation boss during his beef with Jay. Perhaps this is what the Detroit spitter referred to with “ripping” other rappers. Either way, we might never know for sure.

Meanwhile, it looks like there are even rappers in Eminem’s city who might take issue with this GOAT stance. “Numbers wise, Eminem is the best Detroit rapper but the gag is nobody would say that in Detroit,” Skilla Baby recently posited. “Everybody had a turn being Detroit’s favorite rapper. Numbers wise, it’s Eminem but nobody in Detroit is playing Eminem right now and I was an Eminem fan as a kid. I’m a fan of Eminem but do we consider him our best rapper? I don’t think Detroit does.”

Kendrick Lamar Hits 3 Million Views On “Not Like Us” Music Video In Just 2 Hours

Get ready for a whole lot more debate, discourse, and clap-backs, because the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef is not quite over yet. Moreover, K.Dot just dropped the highly anticipated “Not Like Us” music video, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, it blew up like a fake room full of fireworks on Fourth of July. In fact, it surpassed 3 million views in just about two hours, and 14 hours after its release, it’s currently sitting at 13 million views as of writing this article. Of course, the numbers aren’t everything, but the positive responses to this visual across the board indicates that it’s a pretty big hit with fans.

On the other hand, this is notable because of the many claims of stream botting and fake engagement that Kendrick Lamar fans and Drake fans have hit each other with over the course of this battle. However, a lot of the big conversations have been accusations from OVO to TDE. As such, the wild success of this “Not Like Us” music video comes with a potential asterisk next to it, although the proof behind these claims is questionable. Still, even without bots, it’s hard to imagine a world in which this wouldn’t cause a major splash, so what are we really fighting over here?

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Music Video Skyrockets On Impact

Instead, most fans decided to point out some of their favorite moments and most relevant “attacks” in the “Not Like Us” music video. Chief among these discussion topics is easily the inclusion of Kendrick Lamar’s family, with his partner Whitney Alford and their two kids dancing together in an equal showing of wholesomeness and hateful trolling. Fans reacted quite excitedly to this due to Drake’s disses about the Compton lyricist’s family on tracks like “Family Matters.” Seems like a picture said more than a thousand words when it came to responding to these allegations.

Regardless, with a new song preview at the beginning, the big thing that the “Not Like Us” music video also achieved was a little bit more hope that we’ll get a Kendrick Lamar project this year. Many became delusional and thought it would drop last night, but alas, the world is not so perfect. So folks are waiting patiently on that, and to see what Drake has to say about all this. But there are so many cool moments with this visual treatment that will probably have fans rewinding for a while.

It took just a couple of weeks after the release of A Great Chaos for Ken Carson to start thinking about dropping a deluxe. According to Genius, the Atlanta, Georgia rage rapper teased this possibility at various points from Halloween and through June 8. All of these additions are out at just the right time for Ken Carson. He will be heading out on a lengthy Chaos World Tour starting on July 8. Orlando, Florida will get the first taste of him live, and Prague will be the last ones to experience the chaos on October 5.

Kendrick Lamar Went Ahead And Shared Part Of A New Song In His ‘Not Like Us’ Video

Kendrick Lamar decided to make the 4th Of July, typically a slow news day in the music world, all his by dropping his new “Not Like Us” video. One of the most noteworthy things about the new visual is that it actually starts by teasing a new song.

The first 20 seconds of the video are devoted to the teaser. The lyrics for the new snippet are as follows: “I am… reincarnated, I was stargazing / Life goes on, honey all my babies / Woke up, lookin’ for the broccoli / Hot key, keep a horn on me, that Kamasi / IP ownership the blueprint is by me / Mister get off, I get off at my feet.”

“Kamasi” is a nod to Kamasi Washington, the saxophonist and longtime Lamar collaborator.

It is not currently clear what the song the snippet is from is called (or if there even is a full song), or if/when it will be released.

Elsewhere, the video say Lamar going absolutely in on Drake (understandable given that this is a Drake diss track). He smashes an owl piñata and offers the disclaimer, “DISCLAIMER: NO OVH*ES WERE HARMED DURING THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO.” The video also ends with Lamar walking away from a caged owl in a dark room, which really can’t be interpreted as anything other than a shot at Drake.
