Carmelo Anthony Amused by Son’s Claim They’d Lose to LeBron, Bronny in Hypothetical 2-on-2 Matchup

NBA stars and their sons are stealing the spotlight these days. Kiyan Anthony, son of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony, is well-versed with chatter about his father’s Hall of Fame career. Back in January, when asked if he could have beaten his father at the same age, Kiyan confidently replied, “I’m frying him.” Period.

ICYMI, a new question came up in the all so entertaining what if world, about how the Anthonys would fair against another famous father-son duo: LeBron James and newly drafted son Bronny James in a 2-on-2 matchup. Kiyan, known for his candidness, predicted a loss for himself and his father. Gotta love the honesty or maybe strategic humbleness. Take your pick.

“I think Bron and Bronny would win, to be honest,” Kiyan admitted. “Just because Bron is still in the league. He’s still doing what he doing.” Not too sure about that but maybe he has a point.

Thoroughly amused by Kiyan’s lack of confidence in their chances, Carmelo Anthony responded on social media, humorously calling Kiyan out:

“I’m going to remember this,” Carmelo wrote.

Hilarious. Maybe this should be televised. Pay per view. Would draw in millions.

When asked if he would try to persuade his father to come out of retirement and join him if he gets drafted into the NBA, Kiyan revealed his ongoing efforts. “I’m going to try. I’ve been trying.”

Not too sure if Melo would get signed in a couple years but the thought of it is fun. What a time to be a live for basketball fans.

Friendly reminder, the star studded cast boasts Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz and Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington.

The long gestating sequel is directed by none other than Ridley Scott (Napoleon) from a screenplay written by David Scarpa (Napoleon) based on a story penned by Scarpa and Peter Craig.

Get this Gladiator II pairs Oscar winners Washington and Scott back again. The lat time they collaborated was American Gangster, 15 years ago. We all know how that went – amazing, so it’ll be interesting to see what king of magic they muster on this soon to be epic sequel.

Rashida Jones, Daughter Of Quincy Jones, Recalls Rocky Relationship With Tupac

Rashida Jones, the daughter of Grammy Award winning producer Quincy Jones, says that her and her family had an up-and-down relationship with the late Tupac Shakur, but still considers him family.

In an interview with the New Yorker, which was published over the weekend(July 7), the actress recalled the open letter she wrote to ‘Pac in The Source following some disparaging remarks that Shakur made about the famed musician/producer.

“All he does is stick his dick in white bitches and make fucked up kids,” Pac said of Rashida’s father at the time.

“I do think that anyone who reads this article would be shocked by his ignorance and lack of respect for his people,” she said. “To demean a man like Quincy Jones, a man who came from the ghetto of Chicago and through his talent and perseverance became a living music legend, demeans the whole progress of African Americans.”

She continued, “Where the hell would you be if Black people like him hadn’t paved the way for you to even have the opportunity to express yourself? I don’t see you fighting for you race. In my Opinion, you’re destroying it and shitting all over your people.”

30 years later, Rashida reflected on the letter she wrote, which was shortly before her older sister Kidada began dating Tupac.

“Furious! So precocious, so self-righteous. Yeah, I was so mad,” she said. “It was a new perspective to me. I kind of understand the nuance more now that I’m older. It just felt like a completely unwarranted attack. It resolved itself really nicely, because when I met him, he immediately apologized to me, immediately apologized to my dad. We sat down and had a really good conversation about it, and then he was family.”

Overall, this has made him a fantastic interview. The Brand Nubian MC has done numerous VladTV interviews over the years that have iconic moments. Although he has since denounced Vlad, Lord Jamar can still be seen on interview couches, giving his thoughts on the biggest topics in the culture.

Recently, Lord Jamar was being interviewed by The Art Of Dialogue. During this interview, Jamar was asked about Sexyy Red. Of course, she is a hot-button topic these days. Some feel like she isn’t talented enough to get the attention she does. Others feel as though she is a caricature. As you can see down below, Lord Jamar is not a fan of the controversial artist. He even spoke on her appearance and the fact that she looks as though she smells a certain way.

Subsequently, Lord Jamar was asked if he believes that Sexyy Red is an industry plant. The artist firmly believes that she is. In fact, he went on to note that industry plants are not some sort of conspiracy theory. Numerous artists have been hit with industry plant allegations in the past, so Lord Jamar’s comments should come as no surprise. Ryan Garcia Allegedly Trashed His Ex-Wife’s Home & Sent Her Violent Texts

Over the last several months, boxing sensation Ryan Garcia continues to find himself in some sort of trouble. Whether it be inside or outside of the ring, pretty much all of it seems to be self-inflicted. His most recent actions got him tossed out of the WBC (World Boxing Council). He went on a racially-charged X tirade, all of which centered around the death of George Floyd, the Israel-Palestine debacle, in addition to slurs directed at multiple discriminated groups. Furthermore, he is currently out of boxing entirely for 12 months after two positive PED tests, one of which occurred after his now rescinded win over Devin Haney.

These are just the tip of the iceberg for Garcia and now he is in more controversy. According to The Shade Room, his ex-wife, Andrea Celina, is accusing him of ransacking their home in addition to some extreme verbal abuse/harassment. She shared multiple photos of the damages, as well as the supposed text messages and FaceTime calls from Garcia all through her Instagram Story.

As far as the photo evidence regarding the interior wreckage, it is clear that Garcia was enraged. Multiple items including a small trampoline, plants, children’s toys, and a stroller were strewn about the living room and kitchen. Garcia appears to be in view of the security camera while holding that trampoline. As for the messages, they are very derogatory and quite disturbing. Garcia calls her a wh*re, a b****, and even threatens to “f*** [her] up”. Then, there are additional texts between Andrea and her former partner in regard to seeing their two kids. She is supposedly over the out-of-nowhere visits and wants supervision while he is around. Garcia allegedly is not taking responsibility for his actions and supposed addictions that she outlines. Because of her new rules and it led him to repeatedly trying to FaceTime. He has yet to comment on any of this alleged evidence from Andrea.

Cypress Hill To Bring Iconic “Simpsons” Joke To Life Alongside London Symphony Orchestra

Today, musicians at the London Symphony Orchestra will make a joke from nearly three decades ago into a reality, and hip-hop fans can’t wait. The joke in question was featured on a 1996 episode of The Simpsons, and saw the group speculate that they had accidentally booked the orchestra, “possibly while high.” Ever since the episode aired, fans have been demanding a real link-up with the West Coast pioneers, a dream that will finally come true at the Royal Albert Hall.

It arrives just in time for the 30th anniversary of Cypress Hill’s 1992 album Black Sunday, and will feature performances of classics like “Insane in the Brain,” “I Wanna Get High,” and more. In a recent interview with BBC, B-Real expressed excitement over the eagerly awaited moment, crediting The Simpsons for giving them the opportunity of a lifetime.

“It’s been something that we’ve talked about for many years since the Simpsons episode first aired. So it’s very special for us. And it’s coming off the heels of our 30th anniversary for our Black Sunday album,” he told the outlet. “We’ve played a lot of historical venues throughout our career and stuff like that, but nothing as prestigious as this… We salute the Simpsons because if they had not written that episode, we probably wouldn’t be doing this.”

B-Real adds that the group has always strived to collaborate with “out-of-the-box artists,” despite any cultural differences that could come up. At rehearsals, for instance, the LSO reportedly thought that the term “Glock” was referring to a glockenspiel rather than a gun. SOURCE SPORTS: Elly De La Cruz Said He’s Learning Japanese So He Can Speak To Shohei Ohtani

2024 Cincinnati Reds stand out Elly De La Cruz was chosen to play in this year’s All-Star Game in Arlington, TX and was asked by reporters which player he was looking forward to talking to; the other most exciting player in Major League Baseball.

“I’m learning Japanese to try to talk to Shohei [Ohtani],” De La Cruz said with a smile. When a reporter asked if he was “for real”, De La Cruz replied, “I don’t know if I’m going to learn, but I’m trying.”

De La Cruz, a native to Sabana Grande de Boyá in the Dominican Republic, speaks Spanish as his first language, but the Reds shortstop conducted his press conference on the eve of Opening Day exclusively in English for the first time after using an interpreter for the ’23 season. “It’s so important to me because now you guys understand what I say, and it’s important to the fans to understand me and me understand the fans,” De La Cruz said at the time. “I put a lot of work on my English to talk with you guys, and I think I’m doing a good job.”

Now, the Reds’ franchise stolen base leader is dedicating that same energy to learning Japanese to talk with Ohtani, which is a very honorable gesture of brotherhood among international players.

Ohtani can speak English but is more comfortable conversing in Japanese.

Both Ohtani and De La Cruz are two of the most exciting MLB players on the diamond this season, with the Reds shortstop belting 15 home runs to lead the Reds and his 45 stolen bases to lead all of MLB. Meanwhile, Ohtani, in his first season in Los Angeles, is making a run at his third MVP award, having compiled a .314/.399/.637 slash line with 28 home runs, 65 RBI, 72 runs scored and 20 stolen bases.
