Gunna’s Album “a Gift & a Curse” Certified Gold

Many doubted his return, and while that conversation isn’t over, it definitely diminished a lot. Gunna just received a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his newest album, 2023’s a Gift & a Curse. Moreover, the album’s now officially sold over 500K album-equivalent units, marking a big milestone for the comeback record. Of course, this is off of the strength of massive hits like “fukumean,” plus thanks to his die-hard fanbase that continued to support him through it all. The College Park MC also just returned to the live performance space, so this is definitely an exciting time for his career.

For those unaware, the aforementioned narrative around his career concerns his “snitching” in the YSL RICO case. This had Gunna laying low for months, and a Gift & a Curse was his big comeback to the hip-hop release sphere. His relationship with other rappers is still up in the air, but with all this commercial success and fan loyalty, that aversion might shift very soon. Still, the 30-year-old also has a lot bigger things to worry about right now, and might be thinking more as a lone wolf within the industry.

That being said, a lot of that bias and backlash diminished after the release of a Gift & a Curse. Maybe the conversation just died down, but various sources (including Gunna himself, Young Thug’s father, and more) shut down beliefs that there was beef as a result of Wunna’s plea deal. It’s not the red flag it once was, and that came as a timely development as he builds skills in other areas. For example, his upcoming remix of Victor Thompson’s Afrobeats hit “This Year” stunned fans at its live debut, with many surprised by his excellent foray into the genre.

Meanwhile, there’s a lot of bars to digest on the Drip or Drown MC’s latest full-length. Now, though, it seems like people just enjoy the music without feeding into the debate. Outkast Officially Has The First 13x Platinum Rap Album

Outkast isn’t only one of the best and most influential rap acts of all time, but they’re also one of the most popular. Earlier this year Billboard did a countdown of the best rap groups of all time that had both fans and artists debating. Right at the very top was Outkast, which the publication named as the best rap group of all time. Some fans came out to say that Wu-Tang Clan should have taken the cake. But plenty of others, including Rakim, had no complaints about the choice of the ATL legends at the top spot.

To go with their major critical achievement, the pair have also hit a major new commercial milestone. Their 2003 album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below was officially certified 13x platinum. That achievement means that by the RIAA’s count, the album has officially sold 13 million copies. While that’s an impressive achievement on its own, it gets even more remarkable when compared to other rap albums. The project is now officially the highest-selling rap album of all time, surpassing Eminem’s 2002 project The Eminem Show which was certified 12x Platinum last year.

Outkast Have The Highest Selling Rap Album Ever

The certification comes at a good time as the duo are celebrating the 20th anniversary Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Big Boi took to social media to discuss the Grammy-winning album’s success and show off the new plaque they received for selling 13 million copies.

Outkast is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of their equally beloved 1998 album Aquemini. To celebrate they shared a new animated music video for the deep cut “SpottieOttieDopalicious.” The video racked up over 50k views in the first few days since it was released. Fans still have a lot of love for the duo and continue to wait for a reunion, even though it’s repeatedly been shut down. The alleged reality TV show curse claims another couple. Real Housewives of Potomac cast-member Mia Thornton announces her separation from husband Gordon Thornton. Many of our reality’s favorite stars have called it quits after appearing on television. From Monique Samuels, Chris Samuels, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, Eva Marcille and Michael Sterling, Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman, Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill, Ashley Darby and Michael Darby, Kenya Moore and Marc Daly, Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida, Lisa Wu and Ed Hartwell have all called it quits.

Now Mia Thornton and husband Gordon Thornton have separated after 11 years of marriage.

People reports:

“Like all marriages, ours has had its ups and downs,” says The Real Housewives of Potomac star, 38. “At this time, Gordon and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are okay.” “We ask that you respect our privacy and give us the time and space to figure things out,” she adds.

Mia and Gordon, 70, have been married since March 2012 and share son Jeremiah Carter, 8, and daughter Juliana, 6. Additionally, they each have one child from their previous relationships.

The couple’s marital woes are expected to play out season 8 of RHOP, which premieres Nov. 5 on Bravo. PEOPLE exclusively premiered the trailer that hinted at trouble between them, with Mia admitting that she once “obtained a divorce lawyer” during a difficult point in their relationship.

She also tells costar Ashley Darby that she “might” have married Gordon for his money.

Obviously, not everyone would be flattered by such an explicit birthday greeting, but still, Blue has a point about the internet enjoying dissing Alexis. The constant hate surely gets exhausting every now and then, but rather than get caught up in her feelings, the creative turns their insults into bars with the help of her other half.

It’s presently unclear what the First Lady’s new song is called, or if her man will be appearing on the track. He dropped his own single, “Baby Momma Drama” last month, with little Chrisean Jr. making his debut in that visual. Alexis wasn’t impressed at the time.
