Travis Scott, Beyonce & Bon Iver Conjure Magic On “DELRESTO (ECHOES)”

Travis Scott’s UTOPIA landed like an alien spacecraft in a football field, to absolutely no one’s surprise. Moreover, La Flame’s sixth full-length project is surprising, otherworldly, ambitious, and lush with sonic detail and obtuse lyricism. While there are too many highlights and amazing moments to name, “DELRESTO (ECHOES)” certainly stands out as one of its most notable and shocking moments. With assistance from two revered vocal titans in Beyoncé and Bon Iver, this makes for one of the best moments on the LP on first listen due to the reveal of its hidden features. In addition, it features production from Travis, Bey, James Blake, Allen Ritter, Hit-Boy, Mike Dean, and umru, making for a vibrant and progressive instrumental.

In fact, it might remind many listeners of Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE with its house-inspired rhythms and musical aesthetics. However, there’s also something tribal, ritualistic, and almost holy about the always tense but never fully explosive progression of “DELRESTO (ECHOES).” That might be a turn-off for some, but the constant build-up feels more like a journey of peace than a throwaway, half-baked idea for a song. Beyonce and Bon Iver both stun with their passionate vocal performances, and Travis Scott switches from melodic flows to rapid-fire bars with ease. With multiple synth layers, additional instruments, and variations throughout the song, the track feels complete without exaggerating its opulence.

Dwight Howard Reaches Agreement with His Ex to Reduce Child Support Payments

h

Basketball star Dwight Howard and his ex, Tiffany Render, have agreed to an update to their child support following his request to decrease payments due to his change in income.

According to Radar Online, Howard and Render have come to a total of $3K, down from the previous number of $12K. In 2015, Render sued Howard for paternity and child support, leading to the initial monthly payment to support his daughter Layla. At the time, Howard was making $21 million a year with his NBA contract.

In addition to the total, Howard and Render worked out a visitation and custody schedule conducive to his playing schedule.

With Howard’s yearly salary now at $2 million, the new total was awarded due to “a significant change” in his income. As part of the court proceedings, Howard asked for Render to pay his legal fees, which she denied, and also stated he failed to fulfill his duties as a parent.

In addition to Layla, Howard has four more kids.

Esteemed comedy writer Jaboukie Young-White, better known simply as Jaboukie, is everywhere these days. Whether you know him from his polarizing social media presence, or his show-stealing roles on Rap Sh!t or Only Murders In The Building, Jaboukie has become ubiquitous within the zeitgeist of the times. Now, the comedy extraordinaire is giving his hand a turn at music. Last year, fans of Jaboukie got to know his musical stylings through his house-inspired debut single “BBC” and his scorching rap-fueled track, “Rockwhyler.

Ahead of the album, Jaboukie has shared his new single, “Not_Me_Tho,” in which he celebrates his sexuality and queer freedom. In the song’s video, which is directed by Jaboukie himself, Jaboukie is seen walking through the city wearing a dress, leggings, black high heel shoes, and shiny red lipstick.
