Plies Says Efforts To Find Titan Submersible Should Be Put Into Missing Kids

Plies recently took to social media to share his thoughts on resources being put into the search for the missing Titan submersible. The rapper believes that authorities should be putting the same energy into finding missing children as they did into finding the sub. “Dear America,” he began, “After Y’all Get Done Looking For The Submarine. Can Y’all Spend The Same Money & Time Looking For Some Of These Missing Kids Around America. That Would Be Great!! Thanks In Advance,” Plies wrote. Twitter users rushed to his comments section to agree with him.

Sadly, debris confirmed to be part of the Titan submersible was found today. Authorities believe the vessel underwent a “catastrophic implosion. All five passengers have reportedly passed away as a result of the tragic event. “Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives on the Titan,” the White House said following the news. “They have been through a harrowing ordeal over the past few days, and we are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.”

Plies’ Message To America

Various other celebs have also weighed in on the tourist expedition gone wrong, namely Cardi B. Cardi B responded to the stepson of one of the missing passengers controversially attending a Blink-182 concert amid search efforts. “People was like, ‘Well, what is he supposed to do? Be sad at the house? Is he supposed to go look for him?’ Yes,” she said. “You’re supposed to be at the house, sad,” Cardi B then explained, “You are supposed to be crying for me.” The stepson, Brian Szasz, later took to his own account to clap back. He called Cardi a “pos trashy celeb,” telling her to “get some class.” He also went on to trash her music.

Meek Mill additionally shared his thoughts on the tragedy yesterday, claiming that he can’t believe the billionaires onboard didn’t have a plan B. He then claimed that the country has bigger things to worry about than the previously missing sub. Rick Ross also took to social media recently to ask some questions about the tragedy.

Amanda Bynes Still In Psychiatric Facility, Hold Extended

Amanda Bynes is still struggling with her mental health. TMZ has reported that the former child star will undergo an extended period of psychiatric care. According to sources, her loved ones are worried about her recurring cycle of mental health breakdowns. Amanda completed a mandatory 72-hour psychiatric hold that began last weekend. However, the facility has determined that she will be committed for at least another week. During this time, doctors will focus on stabilizing her through medication and therapy.

It is known that Amanda responds well to medication. However, like many individuals with mental illness, she falls into a common pattern of discontinuing her medication once she starts feeling better. This can often lead to subsequent breakdown incidents. Not much is known about the situation currently. It is unclear whether Amanda had stopped taking her medication prior to the recent incident that prompted her current psychiatric hold.

Amanda’s Conservatorship And Declining Mental Health

Amanda Bynes was famously subjected to a conservatorship due to her mental health struggles. During the conservatorship, her mother Lynn was responsible for ensuring she took her medication. Reportedly, Amanda was always compliant. Medication was never an issue during that period. However, the conservatorship ended in March 2022. Sadly, this is the second psychiatric hold in three months for Amanda. Obviously, the situation has worsened since the end of the conservatorship. Furthermore, it has been causing concern among her family and friends.

Despite their worries, there is little that Amanda’s loved ones can do at this point. In the end, it was up to a court to decide whether or not the conservatorship continued. The judge’s decision was to end the conservatorship. It would be extremely challenging, if not impossible, to initiate a new conservatorship petition. This is because it would have to be heard by the same judge who terminated the previous one. This means that there is a recurring pattern of mental health breakdowns without the ability for intervention from her parents. Clearly, this is a significant concern for those close to Amanda. What do you think about the former Nickelodeon star’s situation? Let us know in the comments below!

ODB’s Daughter Gets Emotional Following Tattoo Tribute

Taniqua Jones, the daughter of late Wu-Tang Clan member Ol’ Dirty Bastard, recently shared a clip on social media revealing her new tattoo. The tattoo pays tribute to her father, who passed away from an accidental drug overdose in 2004. In the clip, Jones is seen at a tattoo parlor, admiring the piece in the mirror.

Jones’ sister, Shaquita, and her mother Icelene joined her for the excursion. She got the tattoo done at Cypress Tattoos in Oregon. She calls the tattoo of her father’s face “so nice,” before beginning to cry. “Sorry…Thank you so much,” she tells the artist.

Taniqua Jones Honors ODB

Earlier this month, Steve-O reflected on his own, questionable tribute to ODB. He revealed that he had planned to do a far-out, naked onstage stunt at Wu-Tang Clan’s 2006 Rock The Bells performance in honor of the late artist. Steve-O recalls thinking, “Dirty would love that!” Unfortunately, Raekwon stopped the comedian in his tracks. He explained that “[ODB] was the king of not giving a f*ck, way before Kanye did it.” He reminisces about the late rapper “on stage with his pants down, d*ck out, smoking a huge blunt of PCP.” Steve-O recalls thinking, “‘That is my hero.’

“All of a sudden, Raekwon stops the show completely,” he revealed. “He grabs me by my neck and drags me to the front of the stage.” In a clip of the incident, Raekwon says, “I didn’t appreciate that, and I’ma tell you right now in front of all these people, you gonna apologize or I’ma knock you out in front of all these people. ‘I’m not playing, straight up, that was disrespectful. I’m ready to f*ck you up, so you better apologize right now. And I’m going to jail, straight up.’” “I’ve never considered myself a tough guy, but even I was surprised by what a b*tch I was in that moment,” Steve-O admitted. “After that, I was allowed to go. And security told us that I really should go because I was definitely not safe.”

Only months after the shooting, he also addressed the experience on his song “Beat The Odds.” It details how Lil Tjay is “grateful” to have survived. “Seven shots, it was tough, you know?,” Lil Tjay told fans on Instagram. Lil Tjay Reflects On Being Shot

Lil Tjay takes listeners through the sequence of events that took place before he was shot on “June 22nd.” In the song, he also reveals that the shooting occurred right after he met Ice Spice at a recording studio. The two were likely in talks at the time about a potential collaboration, which may have eventually materialized into their song “Gangsta Boo.”

Earlier this month, Lil Tjay was arrested for brandishing a fake gun out of a car’s sunroof in New York City for a music video. He is shown in the video for “June 22nd” poking out of a sunroof, though there’s no gun to be seen. Regardless, this could have been the project that landed him behind bars for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Quotable Lyrics:

Woke up in the morning, paranoid, my heater tucked
It’s a calm day, time to tee it up
I called the plug, told him, “I’ma need some drink”
He said you want Trish or Keisha, I said “N***a, what you think?”
Got fired point blank, seven more, might faint
In the stu’, grind mo’, this the picture I’ma paint

Rob49 On Birdman Passing The Torch & Names His Top 5 NOLA Rappers Of All Time

New Orleans is a pivotal city in hip-hop’s landscape. A place where the entrepreneurial ventures of Birdman and Master P set the blueprint for independent rap across the world and elevated the names of artists like Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg to GOAT status. Birdman, specifically, has made a concerted effort to elevate the South throughout the years, whether forming groups like Rich Gang or going to bat for artists like NBA Youngboy. The latest rapper that Birdman took under his wing is Rob49 – the 24-year-old rapper that’s ushering in a new era for NOLA.

On Friday, June 8th, he unveiled his latest body of work 4GOD II, a culmination of his ascent to stardom in the past year. It arrived ahead of his second annual Vulture Island Weekend in his hometown which included a celebrity basketball game and a concert where he was able to connect with fans for the first time in a long time. Ultimately, it was an event that furthers the notion that he currently holds the throne for the city. It’s no surprise that Birdman officially passed him the torch on the intro to 2022’s Welcome To Vulture Island – an act that seemed like a far-fetched reality to him a few years ago.

“When he first did it, it really didn’t mean nothing to me,” he told HotNewHipHop of his initial reaction to Birdman formally passing him the torch. That is until a few months ago when he revisited the intro to Welcome To Vulture Island. “I was like, man, this is the new New Orleans, like this is Birdman. I started thinking about where I was when I was in high school and middle school and shit. We would listen to this sh*t and it was just so far-fetched for us. I’m just like, ‘damn, this is really it and he’s giving it to you,’ so it was a big thing for me.”

Birdman’s become a guiding force in Rob49’s career, having been one of the first people who tried to sign the rapper to Cash Money. Although the deal didn’t pan out, the Cash Money co-founder evidently wanted to see Rob49 prosper regardless. He recently featured on the single, “Woedy” from 4GOD II, a song that Rob revealed nearly didn’t make the final cut of his album. “[Birdman] told me to stop separating my feet and put both of my feet in rap. That’s the biggest advice he told me and I did it and it worked for me. That’s the biggest advice he told me and it works,” he explained.

While Birdman came through as a pivotal force in Rob49’s career, he’s among the several New Orleans natives that helped shape the budding star’s artistry. During our conversation, he listed his top 5 NOLA rappers of all time, which includes the obvious choice of Lil Wayne. “Soulja Slim because he just reminds me of myself. Like, his wordplay, his aura – he just reminds me of myself,” he explained. “Lil Wayne because he’s just the best rapper alive.”

Although Soulja Slim became one of No Limit’s most legendary signees, it’s evident that the sounds of Cash Money resonated deeply with Rob49 throughout his come-up. In addition to Slim and Weezy, he listed Juvenile, Birdman’s nephew, Nino Calvin, and B.G. to round out his top 5. “Juvie had that project in him that we have in New Orleans,” he stated.

Biggest Misconception About New Orleans Hip-Hop?

Louisiana, as a whole, has had a grip on the hip-hop landscape, but it’s hard to deny the number of fierce lyricists. New Orleans, specifically, birthed the talents of both Lil Wayne and Jay Electronica – two MCs who’ve earned their position among hip-hop’s elite. However, New Orleans hasn’t necessarily gained a reputation for being sharp wordsmiths. Some have even gone as far to say that rappers from the city don’t even bother rhyming their words.

“I think the biggest misconception is like us with our rhyming pattern,” Rob49 said. “I know people are like, ‘Oh, they don’t rhyme,’ but New Orleans people, we talk our sh*t. Like, that’s what we grew up on, you know what I’m sayin’? We just poppin’ it. We ain’t trying to rhyme.”

Evelyn Lozada is a woman of many talents. She’s a television personality, model, philanthropist, author, and more. However, she’s perhaps best known to mainstream audiences for starring in the reality TV show, Basketball Wives. The popular show, which lasted for five seasons, ran from 2010 until 2013. Lozada was one of just three women who participated in every season from start to finish.

She eventually joined the cast of Basketball Wives LA after being introduced in its fifth season. Her time in the limelight has been marked by public highs and lows, as is expected of a reality TV star. Still, Lozada is one of the most recognized members of the long-running franchise who has used her profile to launch other successful ventures. Nonetheless, after seemingly quitting Basketball Wives for good, it’s reported that Evelyn Lozada will return for its upcoming season for its 11th season.

Evelyn Lozada was raised in The Bronx by her mother. In 1993, she gave birth to her daughter Shaniece Hairston, whom she shares with Jamal Hairston. She and her daughter have maintained a close bond over the years, even appearing on television together. For ten years, Lozada was in a relationship with former NBA player Antoine Walker, from 1998 until 2008. The pair were once engaged but eventually called it quits.

She began dating MLB player and left fielder, Carl Crawford, also known as “The Perfect Storm” in 2013. The pair were also engaged but broke things off after roughly four years. Lozada and Crawford’s son, also named Carl Crawford, was born in March 2014.

Evelyn Lozada is currently engaged to Lavon Lewis, who she met on the Peacock dating show, Queen’s Court. Lewis proposed on Lozada’s birthday in December 2022 surrounded by friends and family. Marriage To Chad Johnson

In 2012, Evelyn Lozada began to make headlines outside of her life on Basketball Wives. This was a result of a turbulent, brief marriage to Chad Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco. Johnson and Lozada were engaged for two years before tying the knot on July 4, 2012. Just a little over a month later, Johnson was arrested on domestic violence charges against his then-wife. Three days after his arrest, Lozada filed for divorce, and it was quickly finalized in September. The entire ordeal was a highly publicized one.

Life On Reality TV

Evelyn Lozada first made waves on the first season of Basketball Wives. She quickly became an integral part of the show, contributing to many dramatic moments. Lozada’s fiery attitude, as well as her incredibly vulnerable side made for quality television, quickly signaling the rise of new reality TV royalty. After gaining success and a large fan base due to the show, she was tapped to appear in a spin-off.

Lozada and her ex-husband had already filmed a new show titled Ev and Ocho, which would follow the newlyweds’ personal lives together. However, due to the irreversible damage caused by Johnson’s domestic violence assault against Lozada, the reality show never aired and was shelved by VH1. She later appeared on Iyanla: Fix My Life, seeking advice from the titular relationship expert and life coach. In 2015, Lozada found success once again on the reality show Livin’ Lozada, which featured her model daughter Shaniece. It ran for two seasons on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
