Latto And Cardi B Teamed Up To Announce Their ‘Put It On Da Floor’ Remix In The Most Dramatic Way Possible

Latto has been having a ball lately appearing on other rappers’ remixes but when it came time to upgrade her own hit, there was apparently only one person she could call. “Put It On Da Floor” has been tearing up the charts since its release, with fans quoting its opening line ad nauseam on social media. So when it came time to announce the remix for the hot single, Latto and her latest collaborator, Cardi B, referenced that fan-favorite lyric, staging a dramatic reveal in which Latto would “rip the plastic” — in this case, a plastic shopping bag — off her surprise guest. Only, things don’t go as planned; check it out below.

Cardi B is the perfect addition to the single, as Cardi was one of Latto’s earliest champions in the industry, putting her in the video for “WAP” alongside Rubi Rose and Sukihana. The remix caps a streak of remixes for Latto that saw her contribute to new releases from the likes of TiaCorine (“Freaky T“), Mello Buckzz (“Boom Pt. 2” featuring an appearance from those signature animal print panties), and Lola Brooke (“Don’t Play With It” also featuring Yung Miami). Meanwhile, this latest appearance could signal the impending start of Cardi’s long-awaited comeback, along with a feature on her husband Offset’s new solo album and Cardi’s promise that her new album is coming soon.

The “Put It On Da Floor” remix is out this Friday via RCA and Atlantic.

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Lil Durk Is Prepared To Release A Deluxe Version Of ‘Almost Healed’ With ‘The Voice Vibes’

Fans worried that Lil Durk would take a hard left into overtly positive messaging on his new album Almost Healed were relieved to learn that the operative word in the title was “Almost.” While lead single “All My Life” with J. Cole bore all the hallmarks of uplifting “conscious” rap — right down to a chorus of children singing its saccharine hook — and Alicia Keys played therapist on the album’s intro, Durk largely stuck to his guns for the rest of the new songs, so to speak.

Still, if anyone at all was dissatisfied with the outcome, his deluxe version of Almost Healed should lay those concerns to rest. On Twitter, Durk promised it would bear “The Voice vibes,” invoking the beloved 2020 album which launched the Chicago underground rap veteran to arena status.

And speaking of arena status, Durk certainly has a few of those venues on the schedule for his upcoming Sorry For The Dought Tour, which launches at the end of July and runs through early August. You can see the dates for that below.

College Coach With $6M Salary Complains About NIL

NIL has become the bogeyman of the NCAA. The legislation, passed in 2020, finally allowed collegiate athletes to be compensated in terms of brand deals and media appearances. That was a major step away from the era where the authorities that oversaw college sports adamantly defended the free labor of collegiate athletes.

However, not everyone is a fan of the program. Many coaches argue that NIL has forever changed recruiting. According to these detractors, players will go where the money is, putting smaller schools at a recruiting disadvantage. Granted, NIL has made some players at some schools very wealthy. Despite this, it’s a weak argument to try and defend not paying players given how much revenue they generate for the school. Additionally, one college football coach is receiving a lot of mockery for his particularly exaggerated take on NIL.

Eli Drinkwitz Makes Weird NIL Statement

Eli Drinkwitz has been the head coach for the Missouri Tigers since 2020. The Tigers recruited Drinkwitz after his spectacular 12-1 2019 season leading Appalachian State. Since arriving at Missouri, he has gone 17-19, including 0-2 in bowl games. According to a tweet from Sports Illustrated reporter Ross Dellenger, Drinkwitz is not a fan of NIL. Drinkwitz reportedly said that college athletes make more through NIL than his pediatrician brother-in-law does. This is bad, Drinkwitz argued, because “he saves lives.”

It’s a fine if tired sentiment. People have been pointing out how athletes make more than doctors, firefighters, etc. for years. However, there’s just one little detail that undermines Drinkwitz’s position. When Drinkwitz was hired by Missouri in 2020, his salary was $4 million. In 2023, his salary is $6 million. Furthermore, by the end of his contract in 2027, his salary will be $7 million. It’s a little hard to make the argument that NIL is bad when you yourself are making millions of dollars more than a medical professional. For what it’s worth, the median US salary for a pediatrician in the United States is around $218,000. While the NIL debate will surely continue in college sports, it’s safe to say that the millionaire coaches (especially the ones who make millions to produce losing records) should probably sit this one out.

Doja Cat Stuns Fans With Patterned Dress & Futuristic Shades

Doja Cat is someone who has been stunning fans with her various fashion choices for years. Overall, many came to know Doja thanks to her song in which she dressed up as a cow. Even that was a look that ultimately spawned a bunch of women to go out and get cow-print clothes. Now, however, Doja delivers looks that are much more haute couture. She is getting her fashion right off of the runway, and it shows. Moreover, she is able to showcase this fashion while out at places like the Met Gala.

Additionally, Doja Cat is also teasing fans with a brand-new album. In fact, it would appear as though she wants to completely ditch pop. Instead, she would rather make some hip-hop that is filled with bars, bars, and more bars. No one knows for sure what this next album will sound like, but many are excited about her new musical journey. Even if that means her changing her name, although we doubt she will actually do something that drastic.

Doja Cat Does It Again

Before this album makes its way to the masses, Doja Cat is still offering up some looks for all of her fans. Above, you can see the latest one which is an interesting mix of styles. Firstly, we have a revealing short dress that has some unique patterns on it. Red, brown, black, and beige can be seen throughout the dress, while two large cut-outs are found in the abdomen. However, one of the coolest parts of the fit is the blue shades. These look really cool, and we’re sure a lot of people are going to want to know where to cop them.

Hopefully, Doja Cat is able to give us some updates on that album soon. A lot of fans are waiting on this, and a summer release would be ideal for many.
