Chris Brown & Chlöe Encourage One Another Amid Backlash

We’re days away from receiving new music from Chlöe and Chris Brown. The hitmakers collide on “How Does It Feel,” a single that arrives this New Music Friday (February 24). It makes sense that these two collaborate, but not all of Chlöe’s fans were happy to see her with Brown. His past was brought up in social media conversations, from his domestic violence incident with Rihanna to Karrueche Tran having a restraining order against him. The pushback was palpable, but the two singers were still excited about their release.

Hours ago, Brown reemerged on Instagram with an encouraging message for Chlöe. “[Twenty-fourth] ❤ @chloebailey you are a beautiful soul,” wrote Breezy. “TAKE OVER THE WORLD SHAWTY and DONT LOOK BACK🙏🏽! YOU ARE A QUEEN! DONT LET NOBODY TELL YOU NO DIFFERENT! You followed your dreams and now the universe is fulfilling that manifestation 🙏🏽❤.”

Chris Brown’s Recent Controversies

Chlöe, who appeared in Brown’s comment section, didn’t miss the message. “Can’t wait for the world to hear the magic we created💕,” she said. The singer has been quiet as the public scrutinized this collaboration. However, Brown made his voice heard—repeatedly. He didn’t appreciate people demeaning his career, and also quickly hopped online to call out anyone who rehashed his drama with Rihanna.

According to Brown, he was a teen when that occurred, and he’s made several life changes since that time. Additionally, he noted several white celebrities with a history of domestic violence who were able to continue their careers, even be seen as idols, without their pasts returning to haunt them. Breezy’s dedicated fanbase stood by his side and cosigned his posts, making for yet another viral moment for the star.

Chris Brown Has Yet To Comment On Tommie Lee

As that controversy was subsiding, reality star Tommie Lee also surfaced with insults toward Brown and his son. She reportedly attended his London concert, and an incident occurred backstage. Further, it’s said that Ammika Harris closed the door in Lee’s face to shield her and Brown’s son Aeko from the public. This reportedly upset Lee, and some sort of altercation took place. Later, Lee disparaged the boy, resulting in her Instagram account being deleted. She apologized for her remarks.

Bas, Black Sherif & Kel-P Drop “Blood, Sweat & Tears” For “Creed III”

In late November, Michael B. Jordan announced that J. Cole’s label Dreamville would be producing the soundtrack for Creed III. Jordan, the star actor for the Creed series, is directing the third film this time around. Set to release of March 3, Creed III‘s soundtrack will drop simultaneously with the movie. Earlier in February, Dreamville delivered the first single for the soundtrack. “Ma Boy” by JID and Lute (Feb. 3) was the perfect introduction to the type of tracks we can expect for the entire soundtrack.

Now, it is Bas’ turn. Bas is perhaps one of the most overlooked yet polished artists Dreamville has to offer. Coming off of a solo single of his own in January, Bas offered Creed III‘s second promotional single on this week. “Blood, Sweat & Tears,” released on Feb. 22, contrasts majorly with Bas’ track “Diamonds” from last month. Here, he swaps the chill guitar-based instrumental for an Afrobeat-influenced bop.

Bas Meets Afrobeat

“Blood, sweat & Tears” includes two features that both bring unique styles from two different African nations. Ghanian Black Sherif and Nigerian Kel-P pack just the right punch for the groovy, percussion-driven beat. Full of “oh-way-oh” harmonies, the fresh song brings out a new side of Bas. His sung opening verse and “I will not surrender” hook mix elegance with determination.

While it is unclear which portion of the film “Blood, Sweat & Tears” will appear in, it sure seems like a fitting cut for the boxing movie. Dreamville has not released the full track list for the Creed III soundtrack, so it remains to be seen if boss-man J. Cole will make an appearance. Even if he doesn’t, though, Dreamville acts like Lute, JID and now, Bas, will absolutely do enough to captivate both listeners and viewers. Stream Bas, Black Sherif and Kel-P’s “Blood, Sweat & Tears” single on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, tell us if you have plans to check out CREED III in theaters in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics:

Blood sweat and my tears, no, I will not surrender
If you take my lead then we can fly together
Heaven never seem to reach, it’s now or never
We got what we need, but we don’t got forever

OnlyFans Model “Coconut Kitty” Dead In Probable Suicide

Screen Shot 2023 02 22 at 3.50.37 PM

Over the weekend, it was confirmed in a post to her 5.4 million IG followers that popular OnlyFans model Diana Deets, who is better knowns as “Coconut Kitty,” was found dead in an apparent suicide. Her age is still yet to be confirmed.

The post read, “It’s unfair. Life is unfair. We wish you guys could get to know her the way her friends and family did. See, she was such a light to this world. Truly she was always glowing. You could never slow that girl down. She was so hard headed and strong, but also just so kind with the biggest heart we have ever known. She was always trying to lift everyone up around her. She wanted everyone to win.”

Deets claimed to be 24 years old for many years and in an exposé by Rolling Stone, it was discovered that she edited her photos considerably, which led to allegations that she was baiting pedophiles. In the article, Deets related the creation of her Coconut Kitty character to her visual art, explaining, “I wanted to make something that looked like a real-life anime character, small chin, big eyes, that was made in my likeness, because I use a picture of myself and I edit it. I just wanted to create a fantasy, just a character. And I was able to hide my identity and still make money off my art.”

Deets was also accused of luring younger women to join OnlyFans, but in her response stated, “I wouldn’t do anything in an unsafe environment, and I wouldn’t attend myself if I was unsafe. And I wouldn’t do that to someone else if it was unsafe for them.”

Nipsey Hussle’s Killer Eric Holder Has Been Sentenced To 60 Years In Prison

Eric Holder, the man who was convicted of shooting and killing Nipsey Hussle on March 31, 2019, has been sentenced to 60 years to life in prison. The Associated Press reports Holder was sentenced today after being convicted of first-degree murder last July. He was also convicted of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter and two counts of assault with a firearm for shooting two other men who both survived.

The sentencing was delayed so Holder’s defense attorney, Aaron Jansen, could attempt to get his potential sentence reduced; although Holder was not eligible for the death penalty, the length of his sentence comes as no surprise. Jansen tried to get Holder’s conviction reduced to manslaughter or second-degree murder, but Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke rejected those motions in December.

Holder’s defense relied on testimony that he had not planned to shoot and kill Nipsey at the Marathon Clothing store that day; instead, his defense argued that he’d attacked Hussle in a fit of rage at being accused of snitching by Nipsey. However, witness testimony and surveillance footage suggested he’d had more than enough time to cool off, that he’d initially left the scene before returning armed with two handguns, and that he’d fired multiple times, hitting the two bystanders in addition to the rapper, leaving little reasonable doubt he’d intended to kill.

Although Nipsey’s family declined to appear, one of his close friends, Herman “Cowboy” Douglas, did give a statement at the hearing. “Our community right now, we lost everything, everything we worked for,” he said. “One man’s mistake, one man’s action, messed up a whole community. I don’t care what you give this guy. It ain’t about the time. I just want to know why. The world wants to know why. Why someone would do that?”

Nipsey Hussle is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
