Gervonta Davis Rips Jake Paul After Tommy Fury Loss

Gervonta Davis is one of the best boxers in the entire world right now. Overall, he is someone who dominates the sport and has yet to lose a single fight. Moving forward, he will take on Ryan Garcia in a match that will take place in April. Although Davis is the favorite in this fight, there is a lot of animosity here. Having said that, there is potential for Davis to get his first loss. No matter what, fans are very excited about the match as it will be a moment for Gervonta Davis to truly silence all of the doubters.

For many, Davis competes in real boxing as opposed to whatever Jake Paul just did against Tommy Fury. As we all know by now, Jake lost the fight, giving him his first professional loss. In the past, Davis and Paul have actually traded shots on social media. Overall, Davis feels as though Paul is a fake boxer and that what he does is actually detrimental to the sport as a whole. Subsequently, following Jake’s loss, Davis decided to sound off on social media with his feelings on it all.

Gervonta Davis Goes Off

“Crazy to people how these boxing shit work…y’all cheer for a clown after a lost but actually boxers y’all shit on em if they lose. Sport filled w d*ck riders!” Davis wrote in a now-deleted tweet. From there, Davis continued to make fun of Paul with a series of retweets. Additionally, he clapped back at a fan who had some words for him. This is where Tank wrote “You have 3 different cuts homie..a low cut..braids AND a fade I will never take you or ya words seriously!” Needless to say, Davis will not be gaining respect for Jake Paul, anytime soon.

For now, Davis should simply focus on his upcoming April fight against Garcia. This could very well end up being the biggest fight of the entire year, and fans are very pumped. Hopefully, everything will go off without a hitch, as we would hate a last-second cancelation. Let us know who you think is going to win that fight, in the comments section down below.

Davis Continues

Ice-T Stopped Making Solo Records Because Rap Became “Goofy”

He’s been around the Hip Hop block with a career that has outlasted several of his peers, and Ice-T dropped off an interesting opinion about the evolution of the culture. It has shaped up to be a busy season for the hitmaker as he has celebrated his accolades. Ice-T received his star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame amid the Grammys tribute in honor of Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary. Understandably, outlets have been clamoring to speak with him about where the genre has landed in this generation.

In a chat with Variety, the outlet noted that Ice-T received a Grammy nomination as recently as 2020. It was in connection with his group Body Count, but Ice was asked why he stopped making solo records after 2006. “Hip Hop changed. The music got goofy to me,” said the Rap icon. “The kids started looking weird. It all turned into something I wasn’t comfortable with.”

Ice-T Reflects On The Shift In Hip Hop

“There was a point where I was selling tons of records, then it cooled off. I felt a certain way,” Ice continued. However, he recognized he wasn’t the only artist with that problem. “Then I realized Public Enemy, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, and Wu-Tang Clan weren’t selling records, either. There was a paradigm shift. These kids got softer, and soft is not something I’m able to give audiences.”

“The first word in Hip Hop is ‘hip’ so how something stays hip for over ten years is difficult,” he continued. “Besides, I still do my ‘Ice-T: Art of Rap’ shows, which is my legacy Hip Hop. Think of it like seeing Frank Sinatra. You want to hear the classics.” Elsewhere, he also acknowledges he has been acting in various aspects of his career since its inception, including his 1990s hit, “Cop Killer.” Ice-T is one of the longest-running actors on Law & Order, and he told Variety his talents stretched to his music career.

“I’m acting in both. I never killed a cop. In ‘Cop Killer,’ I play a man who was mad at the police,” said Ice-T. “Snapped and went after them based on police brutality. That’s acting. Where the media glossed it, is when they said that it was really Ice-T saying to go kill the police. I didn’t do that. The same is true of SVU. I’m not a cop. I’m the furthest thing from a cop. As far as the dilemma with police now — yeah, it is difficult.”

Math Hoffa Can’t Decide Whether Eminem Or Jay-Z Had A Bigger Impact

Ever since Billboard and Vibe’s top 50 greatest rappers list emerge, there has been a flurry of debate surrounding the #1 spot, which Jay-Z claimed. However, the other rappers who landed within the top 10 – or even lower – felt as though they deserved better positions. Lil Wayne, for example, chimed in during a recent interview with Zane Lowe. “I can deal with that,” Wayne said after learning that Biggie, Eminem, Tupac, Nas, Kendrick Lamar and JAY-Z were ahead of him. “I will tell you that I am a motherf**king one. Everybody whose names you named, they also know I’m No. 1. Go ask ’em. They know what it is.”

Many people agreed with Wayne’s take but a lot of individuals felt as if Eminem’s contributions to the culture were downplayed in the list. Some felt as though he should’ve ranked higher, given his influence and incredible sales history. However, most agreed that Jay-Z deserved #1. Over the years, the debate between Jay-Z and Eminem have run rampant in rap conversations. There’s no doubt that Jay aged better with time than Em but both undoubtedly shaped hip-hop at a critical time.

Math Hoffa Chimes In

Math Hoffa recently appeared on Vlad TV with Havoc where he discussed the influence of Jay-Z and Eminem with Saigon. During the conversation, Saigon asked him who he felt had a bigger impact on the game. Though he could’ve talked in circles about which rapper has the better catalog, the most money, or even the epic lyrical spar that is “Renegade,” he provided a far more eloquent response to the question. “Whoever mutually inspired both of them,” he said.

Saigon and Math Hoffa then began to ponder on all of the people who’ve inspired Jay-Z and Eminem, such as LL Cool J and Kool G Rap. Saigon pointed out that Eminem is really a hip-hop head at the core with a firm understanding of many of the underground legends and battle rappers who might not get as much shine in the widespread discourse surrounding hip-hop. Elsewhere, Hoffa discussed artists like Meek Mill, Cassidy and Sauce Walka successfully transitioning from battle rap to the music industry.

Tommie Lee Alleges Natalie Nunn Slept With Chris Brown

Seasoned reality stars Tommie Lee and Natalie Nunn are still making rounds after their explosive, albeit short, fight this past Saturday (Feb. 25). The Zeus Network personalities went head to head in the ring out in London before the main event between Floyd Mayweather and Aaron Chalmers. In a surprising turn, Bad Girls Club’s Natalie took it home shortly into the second round. The women had been bickering for weeks following up to the live boxing match, with promotion for it appearing all over social. Unfortunately, it all came to a head a few days back while at Chris Brown’s Under the Influence tour.

It’s been said they were invited to Brown’s London show on behalf of Natalie Nunn. In an interview with Front Row Fight Series, Tommie claims Natalie revealed Breezy’s past relationship with her was indeed sexual. ”And now she had f**ked his brother to get back at him,” the Baddies West star also noted. Tommie also alleges Natalie is currently in relations with Chris Brown’s security, all while wedded to husband Jacob Payne. “With her being married and s**t like that, I just really think [Jacob] should’ve been there.”

Tommie Lee Calls Out Natalie Nunn For Relations With Chris Brown And His Team

Things went all but right when the Zeus cast entered the premises. According to West rapper Rollie Pollie, Tommie Lee saw Breezy’s three-year-old son Aeko backstage and allegedly tried to break into the room he sat in with his mother, Ammika Harris. Tommie went live on Instagram after the incident to explain her side of the story, stating the door was slammed in her face when she commented on the toddler’s cuteness. The former Love & Hip Hop cast member went on to tell Ammika “I don’t care about your baby. F*ck your baby. And f*ck his daddy, too.”

Tommie Lee has since apologized for her loose lips, though many remain unfazed knowing her volatile history. “I didn’t mean that ’bout the baby,” she states, adding that’s not her typical character. “I was really, really hot tryin’ to make a point.” This all led to Saturday’s fight, which many believed Tommie would win. That was not the case, however, as Lee appeared intoxicated and at one point fell out during her and Natalie’s squabble.

Kamaiyah Posted Her Matching Tattoos With Kehlani To Show Their ‘Sisterhood Wasn’t Fake’ Despite Their Past Beef

So often in the music industry, artists fall out with one another, causing waves of coverage and breathless speculation from fans. However, their reconciliations rarely receive the same level of scrutiny. Case in point: Bay Area rapper Kamaiyah is pretty fed up with addressing rumors and questions about her falling out with Kehlani, who is also from the Bay.

The two artists were thick as thieves at one point in their careers until 2020 when Kamaiyah declared on Twitter that she “don’t f*ck with” Kehlani after allegedly being removed from the singer’s 2019 single “All Me.” However, Kehlani addressed accusations of colorism at the time, saying “please do not take this bold ass lie and f*ckin run with it.” At the time, I wrote that they could hopefully “get on Zoom or something and settle this out of the public’s eye.”

It seems that’s just what they did, but due to that fact, many folks missed it. When Bay-focused Twitter fan account Thizzler On The Roof (A1 name, by the way) reported on comments Kamaiyah made about feeling overlooked, it apparently drew some criticism from fans due to the prior disagreement. “This post got y’all messaging me about me and Kehlani again so I’m going to address it so we can wrap this up in 2023,” she wrote in response.

“Me and Kehlani talked privately (as we should) and have no issues whatsoever,” she continued. “What happened happened and it’s over. She’s talented, I love her, and that sh*t is dead let it go.” To further highlight the restoration of their bond, Kamaiyah also posted a photo of the pair’s matching tattoos, explaining, “I literally have matching tattoos with kehlani our fallout over business differences should’ve never hit the internet and I apologized 3 years ago PUBLICLY for it. Our sisterhood wasn’t fake, family gets into it all the time ours just got a lil ghetto because of who we are.”

Of course, nothing seals a musical reconciliation like a collaboration or two. Fans can miss out on tweets, but not new music.

Kehlani is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Maino Says Video Of Him Choking YouTuber Was Staged

Maino says that the viral video of him putting his hands on a YouTuber was actually staged. In the clip, Maino grows frustrated with the prankster for asking to borrow his chain during an interview. Appearing on Way Up With Angela Yee, Monday morning, Maino explained that he was in on the joke.

“It was all part of the prank. It was fake,” Maino explained to Lee. “I wanted to make it look real.” When complimented for being a “good actor,” he replied, “Yes. I’m great at it.” Not everyone believed Maino’s explanation. One commenter wrote in response, “He prolly gave homie a couple dollars to keep it moving!!!” Another noted, “Y’all forgot Maino choked a reporter years ago.”

Maino’s Explanation

As for the viral clip, the YouTuber, who goes by Buba100x, approaches Maino in a crowded room. “Can I borrow your chain?” Buba100x asks. “I can’t borrow your chain? Let me borrow it. Let me put on your chain so I can see how it feel. I wanna see how it feel to have on the chain.” Maino, who appears irritated, responds: “See, now you just chatting. I gave you a time, now you just chatting.” Buba100x then asks, “On a scale of 1-10, how badly do you think I can beat your ass?” to which the rapper grabs his neck. While holding on to the YouTuber, Maino warns him: “I just told you, it’s not just a stupid video. Don’t play with me.”

As for music, Maino dropped his latest album, a collaborative effort with Jim Jones titled The Lobby Boyz, back in May 2022. The project featured appearances from Fabolous, Styles P, Benny The Butcher, Fivio Foreign, Yung Bleu, Dave East, Young M.A, and more.

Buba100x’s interview with Maino isn’t the only negative interaction he’s had with a rapper as of late. He also filmed a prank video with Bronx drill rapper Nas EBK. In the video, they both went to a ShopRite and pulled various pranks on customers. At one point, Nas got into a physical altercation with one of the store’s employees. Afterward, he was charged with terroristic threats and assault.

Offset Gifted With Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Award

The Atlanta-Fulton Foundation recently gifted Offset the Legacy in Hip-Hop award from the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus. Moreover, the awarding took place during the 50th annual Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Heritage Dinner celebration on Thursday (February 23). Furthermore, they recognized his indelible contributions not just within music, but also in his community. Many shared their congratulations in the comments, which is unsurprising given the 31-year-old’s incredible impact as part of Migos and beyond. In addition to the ceremony itself, the Foundation congratulated the former trio member on its Instagram page, along with pics of the event.

“On behalf of the Atlanta-Fulton Foundation Board of Directors, congratulations to @offsetyrn for your 2023 Legacy in Hip Hop award from the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus at their 50th annual Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Heritage Dinner celebration on February 23rd, 2023,” they wrote. “Recognizing the many contributions you make to not only music but most importantly our community. Continue to give of yourself for betterment of the community. The award was given by the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus and the Atlanta-Fulton Foundation board members were in attendance of this awesome event.”

Offset Honored With Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Award

Unfortunately, this honor comes after news of Migos officially breaking up, at least according to Quavo. In his new song, he proclaimed that there’s no Migos without the late Takeoff and seemingly shaded Offset as well. While the late Migo’s tragic passing shook all involved’s personal lives, it also carried over into business and career-driven disagreements. For example, Offset’s been in a much-publicized spat with J. Prince over Takeoff’s death. Moreover, Prince found himself caught in allegations that he had something to do with it. Apparently, he perceived many of these accusations to come from the former Migo, and they engaged in a heated back-and-forth.

Regardless, tensions between the Migos members were brewing before Takeoff’s untimely loss, and it hasn’t made them easier to handle. Recently, many believed that Offset and Quavo got into a backstage argument at the Grammys, although Offset’s since denied such claims. While much news surrounding these figures is unfortunately negative as of late, it hopefully won’t erase all the good that each member brought to the world, both individually and as a unit. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest on these stories and on Offset and Migos’ future.
