Azealia Banks Calls Out Beyoncé For ‘Stealing’ From Robin S On ‘Break My Soul’

It’s hard to understand how Azealia Banks’ brain works sometimes. Last week, the rapper and noted provocateur vehemently asked people to stop making mash-ups of her music with Beyoncé’s latest single “Break My Soul.” “Please for the love of God,” she posted on her Instagram Story. “They are horrible.” And look, we’ll give her that. She didn’t ask for her music to be thrust alongside Bey’s. But as we try to make sense of how Banks’ mind works, she was clearly perturbed my these mash-ups for a reason. Today, back on her Instagram story soap box, she went on a tirade accusing Beyoncé of “stealing” from Robin S, and then some.

For posterity, her actual words claimed that Bey, “…is out here pretending to support Black divas with bouquets of wilted flowers after stealing their art, arrogantly assuming they don’t have money for legal counsel… and muscling them into making stock PR statements to cover up this messy album roll out..”

Ok, let’s backtrack for a second. Beyoncé sampled Robin S’ 90s house hit “Show Me Love” on “Break My Soul,” and fully credited her as a songwriter. While Robin S said that she was not contacted ahead of time, she did post a video thanking Beyoncé and her team (including Jay-Z) profusely, saying, “Thank you so much for giving me my flowers while I’m still alive.”

It’s safe to say that Robin S stands to make a dandy sum from royalty checks off of “Break My Soul,” but Banks, who has noted beefs with everyone from Cardi B to Elon Musk, thinks she sees right through Beyoncé’s intent. She suggests that the best way for Beyoncé to repent for this sin of “stealing,” is to provide an, “update on Koi Knowles,” the alleged sister and daughter of Bey’s father, Mathew Knowles. Or as Banks calls her, “…your little sister you think we forgot about?” Here’s Banks’ full post from her Instagram Story:

It’s hard to understand how the two issues are analogous, but it makes sense to Azealia Banks? An hour after calling out Beyoncé, Banks posted a video of her song, “I Rule The World,” on her Instagram, which has been out since February. Just another day for Ms. Banks…

Mike ‘The Situation’ Owes $2.3 Million In Taxes Following Jail Release

Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino seems to be in trouble with the law again. Known for his role on the hit reality television show, Jersey Shore, Mike is facing problems with his finances after he was hit with federal tax fraud charges in 2014.

Four years later, the TV star and his brother pled guilty to filing falsified tax returns on nearly $9 million and were sentenced to eight months in prison. In January of 2019 he turned himself in to the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in New York and was released in September of that year.

In January of 2020, Mike paid off more than $300,000 in restitution. He got off probation in 2021, but now it looks like he’s back to square one. Documents obtained by The Sun revealed that The Situation was hit with a tax lien in April of this year. Apparently, his debt stems between the years 2010 and 2016– with the exception of 2014.

According to the outlet, a New Jersey clerked confirmed that he owes the IRS a whopping $2.3 million. A member of Mike’s team, Robyn Bordes gave a statement to The Sun. She claimed, “Micheal Sorrentino has been working diligently to comply with his current and past tax obligations, and he will continue to do so.”

As of now, Mike has not issued a statement on the matter at hand. In recent news regarding his life, though, he now has a one-year-old son and has become an advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous.

NeNe Leakes Responds To Being Sued By Boyfriend’s Wife: “It’s Their Business And Not Mine”

NeNe Leakes’ relationship with Nyonisela Sioh has caused a lot of drama. At first, it seemed like she wasn’t bothered by the controversy surrounding them, posting a picture of herself in his bed. The drama has escalated to a lawsuit, however, and now Leakes has had enough.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Leakes said that she didn’t understand why she had to be at the center of Nyonisela Sioh’s issues with  his estranged wife Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh. Malomine had recently sued Leakes over an alleged affair between NeNe and Sioh.

“I feel like it’s their business and not mine, right?” Leakes said. “I feel like I was dragged into something that is just not my business. They have their own legal thing that’s going on. I shouldn’t be brought into it, that’s all. So, I really have no feelings about it.” She went on to say that her boyfriend needed to be the one to take control of the situation, saying, “I really think that it’s something that [Nyonisela] has to handle himself.”

Malomine sued Leakes last month, claiming that Leakes’ and Sioh’s alleged affair was the cause of her separation from Sioh. In the court documents submitted, Malomine asserts that the two “engaged in an ongoing romantic, uninhibited, and adulterous affair without the knowledge or consent” of Malomine. She also added that Sioh “repeatedly lied to [her] about his whereabouts.” Malomine is seeking $100,000 in damages from Leakes for “criminal conversation” and “alienation of affections.”

Even though Leakes has denied being a “husband stealer,” Malomine feels differently. Claims her lawsuit: “As a result of the adulterous relationship between [Leakes] and [Sioh], the love and affection which existed between [Tehmeh-Sioh] and [Sioh] was alienated, estranged, and destroyed.”

Chris Brown’s “Breezy” First Week Sales Projections

After a long hiatus from releasing music, Chris Brown’s fans are happy to see the father of three make a bold return with his 23-track long, feature-heavy Breezy album.

The project arrived at midnight on Friday, and was preceded by singles like “Iffy,” “WE (Warm Embrace)” – which the R&B star recruited Normani to sensually dance alongside him in the music video for – as well as “Call Me Every Day” featuring WizKid.

Though’s it’s received rave reviews thus far (especially from Tory Lanez, who appears on “Bad Then A Beach” and claims that Breezy is about to “f*ck the whole summer up”), the newly released first week sales projections from Brown’s tenth studio album reveal that it’s unlikely to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200.

The Virginia native is anticipated to move 60K – 70K copies in the coming days; due to a surge in Bad Bunny streams as well as new arrivals from Lil Durk (the Chicago native dropped off the deluxe cut of his 7220 project this weekend) and country artist Luke Combs, he’ll likely come in the top 10, but we’ll know for sure next week.

Last weekend we saw some interesting projections, not only from Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind (210K – 230K), but also for Kevin Gates’ highly anticipated Khaza album and Logic’s return from retirement with Vinyl Days.

The latter two were neck and neck, though many have noticed that numbers have consistently dropped for even huge artists like these in recent years. For example, Breezy’s last project, Indigo, moved 108K during its first week out back in 2019; much higher than what he’s doing this time around.

Janet Jackson Shares Throwback Photo Of Michael Jackson On The Anniversary Of His Death

Today (June 25), marks the 13th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death. In 2009, the world lost, what most considered to be, the King of Pop. He was also noted as one of the most prominent figures of the 20th century, creating music that is still being sung ’til this day. He left behind three children, eight siblings, and millions of fans.

Still mourning his loss, his sister, legendary singer, and actress, Janet Jackson, remembered his passing by posting a picture of them on her Instagram account. The image showed a young Michael and Janet standing side by side in front of a window with a skyline view in the background. Janet accompanied the post with a white heart emoji.

In her documentary series that aired at the beginning of the year, Janet spoke on the relationship that she and her brother had from childhood leading up to his passing. She expressed that as kids she and Michael were inseparable and that he was the sibling to whom she was closest. Aside from their tight bond, the songstress also detailed that he would bully her, calling her names that they would, later on, laugh about.

Further down the road, the two’s relationship began to shift. “I remember really loving the ‘Thriller’ album, but for the first time in my life I felt it was different between us, a shift was happening. That’s the time Mike and I started going our separate ways. He just wasn’t as fun as he used to be,” she’d said in the doc.

The sibling duo wasn’t as close as they had been in the past, but the love they had for each other was unexplainable. In years since his death, his sister has paid tribute to him numerous times and kept his name alive.

Rest in peace, Michael.

Television Series Based On Fat Joe’s Life In Development At BET & Showtime

Fat Joe is a legend of the New York hip hop scene. He’s already capitalized on this status, hosting “The Fat Joe Show” on Starz and announcing an upcoming memoir earlier this year. Now he has a new project dedicated to his career.

It was recently announced that Fat Joe has another TV show in development at Showtime and BET Studios. The show will be called The Book of Jose, and will follow the story of the rapper’s early years in the Bronx.

So far, only the pilot for the series is officially being developed. It is executive produced by Joe, New York Undercover screenwriter Jorge A. Reyes and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris. The show will be a sitcom, detailing the true story of Fat Joe growing up and struggling to get by amid the drugs and violence that were rampant in the 1980s Bronx.

Apparently, the series will cover a large arc of Joe’s career, showing how Joe overcame his difficult beginnings to have a massively successful career. Among the topics that will be tackled: incarceration, rap rivalries, and addiction. The creators say that resilience and love for family will be two of the main themes of the show.

Fat Joe, of course, is proud of the news. He took to Instagram to spread the word, sharing screenshots of the Deadline announcement. “THE BOOK OF JOSE the book ain’t even come out yet and we shooting the series finally the REAL ON T.V.,” he wrote in the post. Do you think you’ll be tuning in to Joe’s new project?

Summer Walker Confirms She’s Pregnant With Baby No. 2

It’s official – Summer Walker is going to be a mother of two!

“People asking me if I’m pregnant,” she said on Live earlier this afternoon, responding to the speculation that’s been floating around online since she delivered her most recent thirst traps.

After taking a moment to make a few funny faces for the camera, the “4th Baby Mama” singer confirmed, “I am! And, you know, I’m very very very happy about it, very excited about it.”

Walker told viewers that she’s most excited to see how “different” things will be this time around. If you’ve listened to her Still Over It album, you’ll recall that she publicly dissed her first baby daddy, London On Da Track, for “making [her] spend [her] whole f*cking pregnancy alone.”

“It’s just, you know, really peaceful, really happy,” the Atlanta native said of her second experience carrying a child. “Lots of help, lots of love, and the only reason I’m even saying anything is because, you know, last time… I felt very disrespected that people didn’t let me tell that myself.”

Though she still gets in the occasional social media spat with her ex (and former frequent collaborator), Walker appears to be more in love than ever in her new relationship with Lvrd Pharoh, who went out of his way to defend the R&B starlet’s honour after she lost to Doja Cat at the Billboard Music Awards last month – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for any updates on Summer’s pregnancy.
