Rowdy Rebel Taps In With His Roots In The Lean, Mean ‘Woo Nina’ Video

Rowdy Rebel has adjusted well to the new sound of Brooklyn drill despite his time away. Since being released from prison in 2020 after serving a six-year racketeering bid, the former(?) GS9 member has released a trickle of new music showing off his chops, despite some issues with his label. This year, he dropped a chest-beating freestyle over Lil Durk’s “Ah Haa” and the conflicted “Rowdy Vs. Rebel.” Today, he followed up with his latest foray into the modern drill scene, “Woo Nina.”

He certainly fits right in. It probably helps that not much has changed since the days when “Hot N****” and “Computers” ruled the streets. The lean, mean track clocks in at just over two minutes, and in the video, Rowdy is surrounded by residents of his home borough, who woo walk and wheelie motorbikes through the streets as Rowdy poses for pics and boasts his hood bona fides.

Despite dropping three new singles this year, Rowdy has yet to announce a new album. This likely stems from his previously stated issues with Epic Records, where he and Bobby Shmurda signed in 2014. Shmurda also complained about the label before buying out the remainder of his contract and going independent earlier this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rowdy did something similar to ensure he finally gets a release date.

‘Emergency’ Is One of The Best Black Bromance Films Since The Wood

Emergency

“Emergency” is an endearing, sobering coming-of-age story brought to life by stars RJ Cyler (The Harder They Fall) and Donald Elise Watkins (Free State of Jones). In the Amazon Original movie, Cyler and Watkins play best friends Sean and Kunle, who attempt to have one last college equivalent of a pub crawl but are interrupted […]

Drake Shows Up To Detroit Bar Unannounced & Casually Takes Shot With Fans

Not everyone can say they’ve taken a shot with Champagne Papi but two lucky fans in Detroit offered a warm welcome to Drake when he popped up in the city this week.

A video surfaced last night of the Boy popping into a local Detroit bar unannounced this week. It must be a shock to anyone to spot one of the biggest superstars in the world casually trying to grab a drink. Typically, this would be the sort of scene to spark pandemonium, the two lucky ladies who bought Drake a drink received praise online for how they conducted themselves.

Before she even asked the rapper what he wanted to drink, she asked his permission to film the moment, to which he agreed. The bartender then served her a shot of whisky while Drake asked for a shot of 1942 tequila.

“It’s crazy how we was just saying Detroit natives don’t give a fuck who you is, we all think we celebrities and shorty sat there calm as fuck buying a drake rich ass a shot,” one Twitter user commented on the clip.

Ultimately, fans were all wondering why Drake was in Detroit. He didn’t necessarily indicate his purpose for being in the city but the real question is — did he tap in with Trick Trick?

Draymond Green Completely Dismisses The Celtics After Game 1 Upset

Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors fell apart against the Boston Celtics last night. They were up by 15 points with just one quarter to go, however, they completely lost the plot as the Celtics got hot from three-point range. It was a huge loss for the Warriors who have now forfeited home court advantage and will have to figure out a way to tie the series up heading back to Boston.

Marcus Smart, Derrick White, and Al Horford were incredible from beyond the arc last night as they were a combined 15-23. This is absurdly rare for these three players and it was definitely a huge factor in the Celtics picking up the win.

With this kind of three-point shooting in mind, Draymond Green decided to be in a dismissive mood following the game. As he said down below “15 for 23 from those guys? Ehhhh. We’ll be all right.” It is clear that Green doesn’t have much confidence in the Celtics to repeat this kind of game and that heading into Game 2, the Warriors will be able to outclass the Celtics on both sides of the floor.

It remains to be seen what kind of series this will be. It will either be a short series where the Celtics dominate, or a long one where both teams take turns imposing their will.
