UK Rapper Hypo Stabbed To Death At Jubilee Celebration
The United Kingdom has been celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, a milestone marking the monarch’s 70 years on the throne. The festivities have been tempered by the absence of its subject, the Queen herself, who has become something of a recluse recently.
Celebrations, however, continue throughout the nation, and it seems one of the celebrations took a turn for the worst on Friday. The UK rapper Hypo, whose real name is Lamar Jackson, was stabbed at a Jubilee party in east London and died from the wounds.
According to police, Hypo was surrounded by a “large number of people” when he was attacked at the party. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and no arrests have been made so far. Scotland Yard, the London police force, is considering the case a murder and have been urging any of the onlookers to contact them.
“I would urge anyone who is yet to speak with us to come forward and let us know what you saw,” detective chief inspector Laurence Smith implored. “Please take a look and call us. It is vital that we establish what happened.” According to the inspector, much of the aftermath of the stabbing was filmed on people’s phones.
Fans of Hypo have been devastated to hear of the death of the 39-year-old grime artist, many referring to him as “a pioneer” of the genre. The rapper had worked with the likes of Popcaan, Chris Budden, Goldie 1, and Rich The Kid. The Hackney native had previously dated the Scottish singer Emeli Sande.

Post Malone & Gunna Vent Their Feelings On “I Cannot Be (A Sadder Song)”
Arguably the most highly anticipated arrival of this weekend’s new music dropoffs came from Post Malone with his 14-track twelve carat toothache album, featuring appearances from The Weeknd, The Kid LAROI, Fleet Foxes, Doja Cat, and Roddy Ricch.
The soon-to-be father of one also nabbed an appearance from Gunna – who’s due to be stuck behind bars until at least 2023 – on the record’s sixth title, “I Cannot Be (A Sadder Song),” following his collab with the Planet Her hitmaker on “I Like You (A Happier Song)” immediately before.
“How am I free when you hold me so tight? / How can I beam when you blocking my light?” Posty ponders at the beginning of the song. “I cannot be, what you want me / What you want me, what you want me to be.”
For his part, Wunna raps, “Got a custom diamond ring / And no, he don’t got a wife / Got a large amount things, I can’t total the price / I told her I don’t need her, she can leave out my life (Life) / You only get one try, but if it’s lit, we go twice (Twice).”
Have you streamed twelve carat toothache yet? If yes, share your thoughts on Post Malone’s latest work in the comment section, and if not, check it out here.
Quotable Lyrics:
Got a custom diamond ring
And no, he don’t got a wife
Got a large amount things, I can’t total the price
I told her I don’t need her, she can leave out my life (Life)
You only get one try, but if it’s lit, we go twice (Twice)
Benzino Says He’s “Back To Da Bag” Following Jail Release
Late last month, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star, Benzino, turned himself in to the authorities following a warrant for his arrest. During an interview with AllHipHop, the former television personality explained that he had gotten himself into trouble due to an incident that took place two years ago.
Zino, whose real name is Raymond Scott, was arrested after getting into a heated argument with his ex-girlfriend, Althea. Following his apprehension, he was supposed to show up for a court appearance but missed it due to him having Covid-19.

All of these unfortunate circumstances led to the ex-Made Men member surrendering himself on May 23. Now, after spending a little time behind bars, the 56-year-old is back at home and doesn’t plan on wasting any time running up his money.
In a video posted to social media, a friend of Benzino is seen standing outside of a building saying, “It’s early in the morning. I’m looking crazy, but this is a good occasion.” He then turned the camera to his side and revealed a free Benzino. As he flexed his muscles, he said, “He just came and picked me up. You know how we do, we just got home.”
The father of two posted the 15-second clip on his Twitter, to which he captioned it, “Back to da bag [bag of money emoji].” He also shared a tweet talking about his experience while being locked up, saying, “…The jails in Georgia & Florida are the worse in America, they’re more like concentration camps.”

Slim Jxmmi’s BM Shares Domestic Violence Receipts: “I’m Tired Of Being Silent & Dropping Charges”
It was just days ago that rap duo Rae Sremmurd – made up of brothers Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee – revealed that their SremmLife 4 album isn’t far away, but now, the former has been hit with some unflattering allegations (and accompanying receipts) from his ex-girlfriend, who’s hair he reportedly pulled out back in January, resulting in his own arrest.
“I don’t even know where to start,” the mother of one captioned her photo dump, which begins with a video of the “Guatemala” hitmaker charging at her as he holds their baby. “I’m tired of being silent, dropping charges and letting things go to protect a narcissist.”

On the third slide, Kee shared what she claims is a “recording [of] his [management] asking [her] to protect him and lie to a judge on a public statement to help his career.”
“Took me a while to get the courage to post this, because I didn’t want to look ‘dumb’ or listen to ‘She’s going to go back,’ but he’s given me no choice,” she continued. “After years of going through these kinds of things, I had one of my biggest breakdowns a few days ago to where out of anger and emotion threatened my own life and my son’s because I was so fed up from how he treats me, I didn’t mean any of the texts.”
Kee told her followers that, after the tumultuous incident, she was cleared by a psychiatrist, but that hasn’t stopped Slim from “using [the messages] against [her] to try and make [her] look like the monster instead of him.”
“I’m human and I can only take so much. Whenever I told him I’d take things to the media or police he’d threaten me with exposing suicidal texts I sent him while dealing with [postpartum depression]. I’m not afraid anymore.”
Kee also alleged that producer @g_sremm walked in on a moment about three weeks ago when Slim was stepping on her face as she held their son in his arm. “[He] still won’t tell Jimmi he’s wrong or admit what he seen.”
“He physically assaulted me while pregnant [with] my friend present, he’s [broken] my phones in front of his team, screamed at me and pushed me around in front of them, and they always point fingers like I’m making him do these things.”
The reported victim shared that there were instances where people around would film her crying, but then doctor the video to not show exactly what lead up to her emotional outburst. “This is my truth,” she declared. “Aaquil Brown for years has been emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive to me.”
Kee also described her entire pregnancy as feeling as though she “was in complete hell,” choosing to stay while Slim Jxmmi was both on drugs and withdrawing from them – read what else she had to say below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop news updates.
Cardi B Sides With Joe Budden’s Strip Club Criticism
On Thursday, Joe Budden took to Instagram to criticize New York City strip clubs for not hiring Black strippers. Budden said that the summer is coming up and the clubs will be impacted by their lack of diversity.
“NY strip clubs, not only are you not hiring Black women, but you’re purposely hiring the SAME exact girl.. Your promoter having a type is gonna lose y’all money this Summer. This is disgusting (not the girls, the optics),” Budden wrote via Instagram,” Budden said in his post.
In now-deleted tweets, on Friday, Cardi B sided with Budden’s comments and shared her own personal experiences with discrimination during her time as a stripper.
“Funny thing [you] say that because when I was a dancer certain clubs wouldn’t let me work on ‘Latin Nights’ cause apparently I didn’t look Spanish enough wit my braids! I even spoke about strip club and colorism b4,” Cardi tweeted.
However, this is not the first time Cardi has been vocal about the discrimination she saw while stripping in NYC. During a 2016 interview with DJ Vlad, Cardi spoke on the increase of “lighter skin” girls being hired over “darker skin” girls.
Some users came for Cardi in the comments, bringing up her and Kim Kardashian as the standard for desirability for most men. Cardi then brought up how certain clubs would not hire her to work on Latin night because they thought she didn’t look Spanish enough.
“Funny thing u say that because when I was a dancer certain clubs wouldn’t let me work on “Latin nights” cause apparently I didn’t look Spanish enough with my braids! I even spoke about strip club & colorism b4,” Cardi said.

Jamie Foxx Says A “Very Prominent Actress” Thought He Was Rick Fox After She Did Cocaine
Jamie Foxx probably has years’ worth of Hollywood stories after being in the industry for over 3 decades. Jamie recently shared a story involving “a very prominent actress,” cocaine, and being mistaken for Rick Fox, while being featured on Tank and J. Valentine’s new podcast R&B Money.
“I ain’t saying no names,” Jamie said. “But I was in a hotel room with a very prominent actress and she was doing cocaine. I wasn’t, I wasn’t, I was not doing it. I don’t do that because of my religious beliefs.”
Foxx continued his story, saying how the whole night, the “prominent actress” had thought that Jamie was former Los Angeles Lakers player, Rick Fox.
“[But] She does the cocaine, she says ‘I’m a bad mother,’ and then she goes, ‘Wow, I didn’t think I would be in this room doing cocaine with Rick Fox.’ She thought I was Rick Fox the whole f*cking night bro. She thought I was Rick Fox I was like, ‘I’m not light skin with good hair like this n*gga.’”
Maybe she got confused because of the similar last names.
Foxx is the first interview in the new weekly podcast. According to the pod’s description, R&B Money will be “Highlighting everything from Marvin Gaye to Pink Sweat$, R&B Money has produced an exciting space for artists & executives in the game to reminisce with exceptionally compelling storytelling while building a place of discovery for the fans.”

18-Year-Old Arrested For Threatening To Kill Fulton County Sheriff Over YSL Arrests
On May 26, 18-year-old Quartavius Mender was taken into custody and charged with 23 felony counts of terroristic threats after he threatened to kill Fulton Count Sherrif Patrick Labat, and others, over the YSL arrests.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Mender had left threats on the target’s Instagram pages using the hashtag #freethug and threatened to kill them if they did not free Young Thug.
#freethug or Imma sh00t u and your wife,” he wrote, according to an arrest warrant. “Imma assassinate you.”
Among the others Mender intended to kill were Sheriff Patrick Labat, his wife Jackie Labat, and Atlanta Public Schools Police Chief Ronald Applin.
“We take these kinds of brazen threats seriously,” Sheriff Labat said in a statement. “Social media cyberbullying, and hiding behind a keyboard will not protect someone from criminal prosecution. Our investigators are diligent in seeking individuals who mean to do harm to anybody, and I am grateful to them for ensuring the safety of myself, my wife, and all citizens of Fulton County.”
Young Thug was recently denied bond at his bond hearing on Thursday, June 2nd after the judge over the case believed Thug would be able to tamper and intimidate witnesses and poses a flight risk. This comes not long after Gunna was denied bond, with prosecutors believing he holds a “command” position in YSL, can order hits, and intimidate witnesses. His court date is set for January 2023.

Steve Harvey Responds Mo’Nique Calling Him A “Coon” During Comedy Show: “I’m Not Your Problem”
During her set at a comedy show in Detroit last week, Mo’Nique dragged D.L. Hughley over a dispute between who was set to headline the event. She called Hughley and Steve Harvey “coons” despite Steve not having anything to do with the situation.
During the Wednesday, June 1st episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Steve was asked by his co-host Shirley Strawberry about the situation. Steve replied saying that he could care less what she has to say.
“Let me just open by saying I could care less than a…about what you think about me because clearly—clearly—I’m not your problem. And you know what? Anyone who knows me, who really knows me, can’t even make that statement,” Steve said.
He went on to say how the “mission” of comedy shows is to entertain people, and that she was given incorrect information about headlining the show. He believes that Mo’Niques manager lied to her and told her that she was co-headlining with Hughley.
“Her management, whoever he is, simply stated ‘I got this gig, you co-headline.’ I promise you that’s what was told. … And that was incorrect information because D.L. put that contract online,” Harvey said. “He was 100 percent headlining. Co-headlining affects the money. If you’re co-headlining, you’re gonna get the same cash.”
You can check out Steve’s response below. It starts around the 30-minute mark.

Vivica A. Fox Says Jada Has Taken “No Accountability” For Will Smiths Oscar Slap
After nearly 3 months of silence from both Chris Rock and Will Smith regarding the slap heard across the world, many people have lost interest in the topic. It was interesting to talk about after the first couple of weeks but after a month went by and neither side addressed the situation, many thought that maybe everybody had just moved on from the incident.
Well, think again.
This past Wednesday Jada Pinkett Smith resurrected the conversation during an episode of the Red Table Talk where she talked about the situation in the episode focused on alopecia. Jada said that she and Will will continue to work toward “figuring out this thing called life together.”
Reaction to the episode was largely negative on social media, with many annoyed with Jada for bringing up a topic that many have moved past.
Among those who had an issue with Jada’s comments was Vivica A. Fox. Fox said that she believes there is a lack of accountability on Jada’s part in the situation. She says that the video she saw of Jada made her cry and shared what she thought a “good partner” would have done in that situation.
“This is going to be difficult for me. These are my peers. I’ve done a movie with both of them. Set It Off with Jada and Independence Day with Will Smith, which absolutely changed my life. When I saw this video last night, it made me cry.”
“Will Smith that night, as far as I was concerned, was going to be crowned this generation’s Sidney Poitier, which is a huge honor. I felt to be a good partner, there was no accountability. Will Smith was defending her honor. That was why—the reason he walked onstage and slapped—because he felt like his wife had been offended. So for me to see no accountability as a partner. … Also let’s not forget that Chris Rock was assaulted—we cannot forget that—for basically telling a joke that I really felt wasn’t that bad.”
