Mattel Creates Barbie Modeled After Transgender Actress Laverne Cox

A new Barbie doll is being made in the likeness of transgender actress Laverne Cox.

Mattel said Wednesday it worked directly with Cox to create a Barbie that fit in closely with her style.

The limited-edition Tribute Barbie comes with a red gown, heeled boots, a metallic bodysuit and silver earrings, and will be available Tuesday at Amazon, Walmart, Target and MattelCreations.com for $39.99..

In a statement, Cox said it’s been a dream of hers for years to work with Barbie to create her own doll so that fans can have the opportunity to add a Barbie modeled after a transgender person to their collection.

“It’s been a dream for years to work with Barbie to create my own doll. I can’t wait for fans to find my doll on shelves and have the opportunity to add a Barbie doll modeled after a transgender person to their collection.”

Also included the Barbie Tribute Collection are bridal dress designer Vera Wang wearing a black one-piece outfit modeled after her Spring 2017 collection. Comedian and star of the 1950s television show I Love Lucy, Lucille Ball and Queen Elizabeth II.

In honor of Cox’s Barbie doll, Mattel will make a donation in her name to the nonprofit TransFamilySOS.

“We are proud to highlight the importance of inclusion and acceptance at every age and to recognize Laverne’s significant impact on culture with a Tribute Collection Barbie,” said Lisa McKnight, executive vice president and global head of Barbie and Dolls at Mattel, in a statement.

NBA YoungBoy Shares His “Goals” In New Single & Music Video

While some artists like to keep their fans hungry in between albums, NBA YoungBoy has been known to keep his own satisfied with regular singles as he waits out the remainder of his house arrest. On Sunday afternoon, the Louisana native shared “Goals,” a single that was accompanied by a music video.

“I took a top off the motherf*ckin’ coupe / They closed the do’, but, I still made it through / Flooded my neck, look how much I done grew,” YB sings on the chorus. “Overtime for to make sure that I don’t lose / Run it up with my partner, give a lot to my mama / Doin’ bad, but, I know that it’s a lot for me to do.”

Shaunie O’Neal Remarries, Shaq Blames Himself For Their Break

While Shaq has been getting in heated arguments with Charles Barkley over Jimmy Butler, his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal has been preparing to tie the knot with her fiancé, Keion Henderson. The Basketball Wives star got married this Saturday in Anguilla.

It appears to have been a powerful ceremony which carried a lot of weight for Shaunie since she had just come off a death in the family. “I just lost my dad in February,” she said in an interview with People. “So, I really struggled with how I was going to get down the aisle. Losing my dad in the midst of planning this wedding was a lot, so my sons handed me off.”

The bride’s three sons, Myles, Shareef, and Shaqir, all of whom she had with Shaq, walked her down the aisle in front of almost 200 guests. Her two daughters, Amirah and Me’arah, were also there. The ceremony took place on a golf course, and gospel singer Yolanda Adams performed. Shaunie wore a sparkling dress and veil by Jean Louis Sabajai and Henderson was in a Dolce & Gabbana tux. The two had been engaged since November of 2021.

Shaq recently went on record taking blame for the failure of his and Shaunie’s marriage. In an interview with The Pivot Podcast, the former basketball star and current basketball commentator said, “I was bad. She was awesome. She really was. It was all me.”

Shaunie has had nothing but good things to say about her new husband, Keion. According to her, Henderson has been “amazing to just step into our lives and fill a void that’s been there for a minute … ’cause I haven’t had somebody.” She is especially proud of his relationship with her children: “They love him, which makes me love him even more.”

Cardi B Provided Some Hilarious Commentary As She Watched An Unoccupied Yacht Sink

Cardi B has been living her best life as of late. She just released a new episode of Cardi Tries with Megan Thee Stallion and it features the “WAP” collaborators showing off their football skills with help from some Los Angeles Chargers players. Days after that episode was released, Cardi and Offset were spotted on vacation, and while the couple might have expected to enjoy a regular day at the beach, things took an unexpected turn as they watched a yacht sink underwater some hundred feet away from them.

The whole thing was caught on camera thanks to a video that Cardi provided and posted on her Twitter. In the video, which she captioned, “I can’t believe I’m actually watching a yacht sink,” Cardi is clearly taken aback by what she’s witnessing. “What the f***?!!? Oh my — it’s sinking!!! Y’all see this?!!?” Cardi says as she watches the yacht slowly sink underwater. “Oh my God, they can’t do nothing about it? “There ain’t no big boat that could save it?!?” After accepting that there was nothing that could be done to save the boat, Cardi gave her farewells to the yacht. “It’s gone! It’s gone!” she said. “Bye-Bye! Bye!!”
