Rob Ninkovich Says Mac Jones Had To Help Cam Newton Understand The Pats’ Playbook

Former Patriots linebacker, Rob Ninkovich, says he’s heard from inside sources that Cam Newton was released because he needed help from rookie quarterback Mac Jones to learn the playbook. Ninkovich spoke about what people inside the building have told him on his YouTube series, The Dan and Ninko Show, this week.

“From what I gained from sources inside the actual building… Mac was basically helping Cam learn the playbook,” Ninkovich said. “Mac was having less mental errors and a better understanding of the offense.”

The Pats released the former NFL Most Valuable Player following the preseason, naming their 2021 1st round draft pick the starter going forward.

Players who have played with Jones throughout training camp have spoken highly of the 23-year-old rookie.

“Mac Jones, he’s going to be that guy,” said Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson. “I mean, he’s a rookie, but he plays like a vet. The way he reads defense. The way he steps up in the pocket, delivers the ball. He’s improved since the first time I’ve seen him.”

Jones was taken with the 15th overall pick, earlier this year.

The Pats will take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 1 on September 12th at 4:25 PM, ET.

Big Boi Praises Andre 3000 For “Life Of The Party” Verse: “Atta Boy”

Big Boi gave a shoutout to his Outkast partner, Andre 3000, on Twitter, Sunday, following the leak of “Life of the Party.” The track features Andre and Kanye West and was originally intended to be included in West’s new album, Donda.

“Atta Boy #JediRapShit,” Big Boi captioned the clip.

The track was leaked by Drake, amidst his ongoing feud with West, on the SiriusXM show Sound 42, earlier this weekend.

Afterward, Andre released a statement explaining the track and why it didn’t make the final cut for Donda. The Outkast rapper says he didn’t realize that his verse had to be clean, and he refused to release a censored version.

“A few weeks ago Kanye reached out about me being a part of the Donda album,” he wrote. “I was inspired by his idea to make a musical tribute to his mom. It felt appropriate to me to support the Donda concept by referencing my own mother, who passed away in 2013. We both share that loss.”

He continued: “I thought it was a beautiful choice to make a clean album but, unfortunately, I didn’t know that was the plan before I wrote and recorded my verse. It was clear to me that an edited ‘clean’ format of the verse would not work without having the raw, original also available.”

Kendrick Lamar Registered Multiple Unreleased Songs On ASCAP And Made Fans Beyond Excited For New Music

Now that Drake and Kanye West have released their respective new albums, it can be argued that Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming fifth project is rap’s most anticipated of 2021. Excitement in the upcoming project spiked after he announced last month that the full-length effort would be his last with TDE, a label he’s called home since 2005. Anticipation increased again after he and his team seemed to register multiple songs with ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers), an organization that protects artist’s musical copyrights.

The titles for some of the new uploads go as followed: “Before The Hangman’s Noose,” “Director,” “Believe,” “Blow Ya Mind,” Feel For You,” “End of the Line,” “Erika Kane,” “Driving Down The Darkness,” “Lesson Learned,” “Living My Life,” and “Hood Love.” It’s unknown when the tracks were uploaded.

In the statement about his departure from TDE, Kendrick gave us a glimpse into his headspace as he puts the finishing touches on his fifth album. “I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts,” he wrote. “Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence. I go months without a phone. Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.”

He added, “While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.”

You can view screenshots of the songs that were uploaded to ASCAP above and read some reactions to them from fans below.

Bobby Shmurda Nearly Fought A Fan After They Allegedly Threw A Water Bottle At Him

This past weekend was set to be another positive moment for Bobby Shmurda as he slowly yet surely finds his footing again in the music world. The rapper was released from prison in February after serving almost seven years for conspiracy to commit murder and weapons charges. Since gaining his freedom, Bobby has made several public appearances but few of them have come with new music or performances. All of that changed this weekend as he released his “No Time For Sleep” freestyle on Friday ahead of his set at the Made In America festival on Sunday.

Just a day before the rapper took the stage, however, a video shared by TMZ captured him nearly coming to blows with a fan at the festival. According to the publication, attendees at the showcase said someone in the crowd threw a water bottle at the rapper which caused him to try and seek out the individual. Shmurda tried to climb a barricade that separated him from fans, but thankfully, a member of the rapper’s crew was able to restrain him before he could get over it. He was then pulled away by his team and taken elsewhere before the situation got worse.

It should be noted that Shmurda’s release from prison came with strict conditions. It includes not being able to drink alcohol, attend any bars, or associate with gangs, abiding by an 8 p.m. curfew unless allowed otherwise. The rapper also must submit to drug testing, and receive aggression and anger counseling and seek, obtain, and maintain employment. All in all, moments like these are ones that Shmurda can’t afford to deal with.

“Shang-Chi & The Legends Of The Ten Rings” Earns Second Biggest Pandemic Opening

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hit theaters on Thursday night across the nation. The Hollywood Reporter has written that the MCU film debut to great numbers for the pandemic, taking home $71.4 million in the domestic market with a global gross of $127.6 million. The only film with a higher debut is Marvel’s Black Widow, which brought in $80.3 million. Fast 9 opened with $70 million.

Shang-Chi Simu Liu as the titular hero, Tony Leung as his villainous father, Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, and Ben Kingsley with a surprise guest appearance. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and features the MCU’s first majority Asian cast. Much like Black Panther before it, Shang-Chi finds a way to elevate a culture while still meshing in the obligatory Marvel humor and magic.

The MCU will continue rolling with Eternals next, then Spider-Man: No Way Home. The two films will continue to expand the MCU, and familiarize the audience with the concept of the multi-verse and cosmic level villains. While Thanos was a pest, cosmic-level villains such as Galactus or The Beyonder must be on the horizon. A mid-credit scene in Shang Chi seems to confirm something big is coming as well.

Victoria Monet Extends The Vibes With “Coastin'” Video

In the wave of funk-infused R&B outputs, Victoria Monet finds herself as a clear frontrunner for maintaining the sound among her contemporaries. It’s an experiment that extends beyond the singer-songwriter’s well-received Jaguar album and continues to permeate throughout her catalog.

Her latest showing has arrived in the form of her “Coastin'” cut, which finds Monet, serving up yet another fun-loving and suggestive selection. She now returns with the vintage-themed video to accompany the track, even recruiting comedian Rickey Thompson for an assist in the dreamy clip. She maintains a family affair with a cameo from her mother as well.

The new video is directed by Omar Jones, known for past eclectic work for the likes of Isaiah Rashad and Denzel Curry among others.

BIG30 & Pooh Shiesty Team Up On “Free Shiest Life”

There’s no denying Memphis’ grip on the rap game. Moneybagg Yo has been a dominant force this year, and Yo Gotti’s CMG continues to make some serious moves. BIG30 has been buzzing in the streets over the past year, alongside Pooh Shiesty. Unfortunately, Pooh is locked up but Big30 did not release his new album King Of Killbranch without the inclusion of his friend.

Pooh Shiesty makes a few appearances on Big30’s new album including on “Free Shiest Life.” On the record, Big30 offers an introspective look into his life in Memphis and the experiences that shaped who he is today. However, Pooh Shiesty comes through with a short verse to cap off the record and elaborate further on their upbringing in Memphis.
