James Harden Executive Produced Lil Baby & Lil Durk’s “The Voice Of The Heroes”

At long last, Lil Durk and Lil Baby have finally delivered their highly anticipated joint album The Voice of the Heroes, and the scorching 18-track project features guest appearances from Young Thug, Rod Wave, Meek Mill, and Travis Scott.

Fans have had a lot to say about the 4PF and OTF artists’ official team-up, and now it looks like there will be even more to talk about, considering that one of the NBA’s biggest stars was reportedly heavily involved in helping The Voice of the Heroes see the light of day.

Lil Baby and Lil Durk attend Basketball Weekend Party Hosted by Lil Baby & Lil Durk at The Dome Atlanta on March 7, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to AllHipHop, James Harden is listed as the executive producer for The Voice of the Heroes. Even considering James Harden and Lil Baby‘s heavily documented friendship, the news that Harden played a major role in one of the biggest Hip-Hop releases of the year is still extremely surprising.

“From the beginning, I’ve had a passion for basketball, and music has always went hand and hand with it,” James Harden states while speaking on his involvement in The Voice of the Heroes. “It drives me on the daily to continue to be the best at what I do, to always strive for more. I see that same passion in Lil Baby & Lil Durk and can honestly I say I’m a true fan. The initial idea was to get the two together to make a few songs. But with their work ethic and undeniable talent here we are.”

“From late nights in my studio in Houston, the two of them being by my side as I transitioned from Houston to New York it was truly an honor to watch them in their element,” The Brooklyn Nets guard continues. “Countless hours in the studio watching them create was an absolute privilege, to say the least. They put the same work & dedication into their craft as I do. Leaving all-night studio sessions going straight to practice with the songs they made gave me a newfound motivation. The Voice & The Hero two killers at the top of their game the collaboration only seemed right. I just hope the same impact they have on me, they have on world.”

At the start of the 2020-2021 NBA season, James Harden infamously ditched the Houston Rockets in order to party with Lil Baby and celebrate his birthday in Atlanta. Plus, there was also a viral video that surfaced last year showing the rapper and basketball player in the studio, and James Harden looked extremely enthusiastic while listening to the 4PF rapper preview an unreleased track.

Now, The Voice of the Heroes arrives amidst Harden’s latest playoff run, and this year, the new Brooklyn Nets star has a great opportunity to get his first ring. We probably won’t see videos of Harden hitting the club with Lil Baby until after his playoff journey is over, but in the meantime, the Nets guard has taken to Instagram to promote Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s latest project.

James Harden now joins the ranks of NBA players like LeBron James and Ja Morant, who have previously worked closely with artists like 2 Chainz and Moneybagg Yo, respectively. The sensational Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant recently served as the inspiration for Moneybagg Yo’s “Rookie of the Year,” and in 2019, LeBron famously served as executive producer for 2 Chainz’ fifth studio album Rap or Go to the League.

Anthony Davis Claps Back At Critics Who Point Out His Injuries

Anthony Davis has suffered numerous injuries throughout his career and it has called into question his ability to remain reliable. Last season, Davis battled through injuries but was able to remain in the Los Angeles Lakers lineup, which ultimately allowed them to win the NBA championship. This season, it was a much different story for Davis as he had to go through calf problems and even a groin injury in the postseason.

Last night, Davis tried to play for the Lakers in Game 6, however, he just wasn’t ready to play and as a result, he was taken out of the game just five minutes in. The Lakers went on to lose and after the match, Davis spoke about his injury issues and how he is fed up with some of the narratives surrounding him. Simply put, Davis knows the kind of player he is, and he has nothing to prove to the critics.

“I don’t have to prove nothing to anyone,” Davis said via USA Today. “I’m not going to prove anything to anyone. It doesn’t matter to me. The things that everybody are saying? It comes with the territory. When you’re a player of my caliber, guys expect things from you and are going to say things about you. Whatever their reason is, it’s my job to be on the floor. I know what I go through and what I play through and what my body goes through. The front office and coaching staff know. So I don’t need to prove anything to anyone that’s outside of this Lakers organization.”

Heading into the offseason, the Lakers have a lot to figure out although when it comes to Davis, he will have a lengthy opportunity to heal himself and get right for next year.

BlueBucksClan Plug Their Own Weed Strain On “How To Roll”

If you’ve spent any time in Los Angeles in the last year, you likely already have a good idea of who the BlueBucksClan is. Taking over the airwaves in California, Jeeezy Obama and DJ have been blowing up as the latest rap duo to make waves on the West Coast, working with Quavo, Lil Yachty, Hit-Boy, and others on their way to the top. Their latest album Clan Virus 2 has been doing numbers and the Clan has been making moves in other spaces as well.

On the latest episode of How To Roll, Jeeezy and DJ speak about their brand new weed strain, Clan Exotic, also telling us their favorite cannabis-fueled stories. Of the two, DJ is the designated stoner. Jeeezy doesn’t seem to be too into weed, despite having their own strain. Clowning his partner on the amount of flower he smokes, Jeeezy laughed at DJ smoking “every five minutes.” These days, DJ is pretty much only smoking his strain, but he used to be tapped into the high-THC count strains, like gelato and biscotti.

Watch the latest episode of How To Roll above to hear BlueBucksClan talk about their personal smoking habits, the first times they ever got high, their opinions on concentrates, and much more.

Netflix’s ‘Master Of None’ Presents ‘Moments In Love,’ A Concert Inspired By The Series

Late last month, Netflix’s dramedy series Master Of None returned to the streaming service after a four-year hiatus with a renewed focus on Lena Waithe’s character Denise and her partner, Naomi Ackie’s Alicia. As the series now focuses on the ups and downs of a single relationship rather than Aziz Ansari’s character Dev’s quest romance, the third season bears the subtitle Moments In Love.

The subtitle also applies to a new “live music experience” released today to promote the show, which features up-and-coming Black and queer R&B artists telling their stories of love. Included in the performance are Asiahn, a Los Angeles singer-songwriter who has written for the likes of Dr. Dre and Drake, Avery Wilson, who gained notice as a contestant on The Voice, Durand Bernarr, who’s sung backing vocals for Erykah Badu and The Internet, and Tiffany Gouché, a longtime industry vet whose musical family includes D Smoke and SiR, her cousins.

“Moments In Love” also includes a conversation between Waithe and neo-soul pioneer Maxwell. Shot at Winston House, the performance highlights the same sort of complex, unconventional love depicted in the show, making it a perfect pairing — and a fitting introduction to some of the most unique and talented rising stars in music.

Watch “Moments In Love” in love above and catch season three Master Of None streaming now on Netflix.

Tinashe Returns With Buddy On Elegant “Pasadena”

Singer Tinashe has been on a steadfast grind throughout 2021 with a string of releases and collaborations, now that her label drama seems to bed definitively over. In these past few months, the R&B trailblazer has teamed up with the likes of EDM pop duo Cheat Codes as well as an appearance on the “Black History Always/Music for the Movement” playlist by ESPN. Just in time for the summer, Tinashe is back again with an explosive new single “Pasadena” with California singer Buddy.

“Pasadena” will easily rise to your summer vibes or R&B playlist with its consistent and fast driving percussion. Tinashe floats in and out of the instrumental– layered with lush strings and synths– with refined melodies. Airy harmonies continue to expand the atmosphere of the track as the verses turn into chorus.

Buddy shows his impressive range as well, moving seamlessly between smooth R&B singing and fast-paced rap lyricism. Backed by Tinashe’s vocal layers behind him, Buddy’s bars about love and sexuality successfully interpolate the themes of the song.

Tinashe teased the track, as well as a possible upcoming full release, on Tuesday. The singer’s last full length album, Songs for You, was released independently in 2019 after she split with RCA records. She now releases her independently via Tinashe Music Inc. along with her managers at Jay Z’s Roc Nation.

Now more than ever life is all what you make it
I got a vision of a perfect night

Young Thug Shares PSA On The Difference Between Real & Fake Pills

Far too many of our youth are dying while experimenting with drugs in recent years. America is in the midst of a serious opioid crisis, which takes thousands of lives every single year. Some of our favorite artists, including Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, and others, have passed away as a direct result of their drug consumption habits, so it’s important for people to be educated about what they’re putting inside their bodies.

Young Thug shared a PSA on how to spot the differences between real and fake pills, clarifying that he’s not promoting drug use. While he’s not encouraging his fans to go out and buy pills, he issued a warning to any of his followers who do use drugs, explaining one of his tricks on how to quickly differentiate between real and fake pills.

“Stop doing drugs, especially pills because they be fake,” said Young Thug on Instagram Stories. “But if you do do them, this is a real effect. If it glows when you put it under a light, it’s real. If it don’t glow, it’s not a real pill.” He proceeded to show what he means, placing a pill over his phone’s flashlight and showing the branding shining through, which means it’s legit.

This information is important for all drug users to understand in order to protect themselves. There’s so much fake product in the streets and you could do permanent damage to yourself, including death, if you don’t carefully inspect your pills before consuming them.

Stay safe and don’t do drugs, kids. If you choose to take pills, consider following Young Thug’s advice.

MoneyBagg Yo Says He’s Got The Song Of The Year

Memphis rapper MoneyBagg Yo thinks he’s got a song of the year candidate, telling fans that “Wockesha” is the best track to have been released this year.

The certified speaker has officially unleashed his latest hit record: the DeBarge-sampling “Wockesha” from his new album A Gangsta’s Pain. Much like Ashanti’s “Foolish,” MoneyBagg Yo grabbed the classic sample and flipped it into a codeine love song, serenading his double cup and explaining all of the reasons why he loves to sip. The record has been celebrated by hip-hop fans as one of the best songs on the album and according to Bagg, it might be one of the top songs of the entire year.

The rapper made the bold declaration on Friday morning, tweeting, “Wockesha Song Of Da Year! [trophy emoji] [fire emoji].”

MoneyBagg Yo’s confidence is commendable. While not many people are agreeing with his take in the comments, some people see where he’s coming from, voicing their appreciation for the record and requesting a remix and music video. It appears as though Lil Wayne is the most requested artist for a remix, which makes sense given his love for codeine too.

Do you think “Wockesha” is the best rap song of the year so far? If not, let us know what your favorite song of 2021 is in the comments.
