Quavo & Lids Release Limited Edition Braves Hat

Back in 2019, Quavo turned heads when it was announced that he would be a brand ambassador for Lids. The reveal came months after Meek Mill acquired a co-ownership stake in the beloved sports apparel store, and the Hip-Hop community has been waiting to see what dope collaborations would arise from their partnership.

“I grew up shopping at Lids, you know what I’m saying?” Quavo told Business Insider after inking a partnership with Lids back in 2019. “Right now, hats have made this run back. Back then, it was snapbacks, then it was fitteds, and then it was snapbacks again. And right now … I think the fitted caps are making a comeback, and I just feel like it’s the right time to link with Lids.”

Years later, Quavo’s partnership with Lids has reached new heights, as the Migos rapper is now set to release a limited edition hat dedicated to the Atlanta Braves.

Starting today, June 4, Quavo and Lids will be releasing a special Braves hat that features a vintage-inspired 1995 World Series patch, an icy Quavo Huncho patch, and a classic Braves logo. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Lids x Quavo hat will be available online in limited quantities but only available in-person at select Metro Atlanta Lids shops and others around Georgia, including Lenox Square Mall, Cumberland Mall, and the Mall of Georgia, among others.

As he alluded to in his 2019 interview with Business Insider, Quavo once again reiterates how much his partnership with Lids means to him in the Instagram post featured above, saying, “Since A Kid I Had This Dream! Made The City Proud Wit This One! Huncho Had Plans Ga This One For Us.”

Do you need the Quavo x Lids Braves hat in your collection?

Lucky Daye Releases Powerful “Running Blind”

With Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating emancipation of slaves on June 19th, right around the corner, ESPN has released a few different playlists frequently updated with songs from prominent black artists. Lucky Daye’s “Running Blind” has made the cut on the Music for the Movement vol. 3 playlist and it surely deserves it. Daye, a New Orleans singer-songwriter, delivers on this introspective track that delves into the destruction of Black culture and livelihood. The song tackles themes of national amnesia, lack of recognized history, and the impacts that generations of trauma can have on an individual.

Instrumentally, the track is beautifully dense. The track is driven by consistent strikes of a wobbly guitar that progresses the urgency of the song. A steadily increasing and beating drum line compliments this well and becomes progressively more complex as the verses build up to the chorus.

The highlight of the song, however, comes with Daye’s commanding voice and impeccable vocal range. The singer’s voice has a very special rasp to it, reminiscent of talents like Anderson .Paak, that makes the lyrics that much more emotive. Daye is also able to lift his voice in and out of a falsetto so seamlessly, further evidencing his vocal capabilities. This is all topped off nicely with layered vocal harmonies that power the background of the verse and chorus.

The song is sure to make a statement and impress listeners of the Music for the Movement vol. 3 playlist. Will you be checking it out?

Quotable Lyrics

Take the time to get my mind right (Ooh)
Gotta paint a better picture with you (Ah, ooh)
I ain’t waitin’ ’til the paint dry (Ooh)
We get higher when we playin’ fly (Ah, ooh)
Strip the ***** of his timeline
But as long as we got stripper pictures in our timeline (Ooh)
All nights be alright (Alright, ooh, ooh)

Cynthia Erivo’s Soulful New Single Remembers ‘The Good’ In A Dying Relationship

English actress, singer, and songwriter Cynthia Erivo is getting set to release her debut studio album, Ch. 1 Vs. 1, later this summer, and to set the tone, she’s shared the soulful lead single, “The Good,” along with a heartwrenching music video. The video depicts the ups and downs of a relationship between two women as the potential EGOT winner sings about only wanting to remember the good in the aftermath of a relationship’s dissolution.

In a press release announcing the upcoming album, Erivo explained the title and concept behind the project. “In storytelling, chapter one and verse one is the way you always begin, and because I believe I’m a storyteller, that’s what I wanted to do with my music,” she said. “That’s what this is about, just starting [and revealing] the human parts of me that you don’t often get to see.”

As odd as it may seem to view the upcoming project as a debut, much less one telling a story about someone who’s been a star of stage and film for the last decade (again, she’s only an Oscar away from the EGOT, and to be honest, she’s only like one role away from that), as we’ve only gotten to know her through her roles (which have included Harriet Tubman and Aretha Franklin), there’s a lot to be said for an introductory album as she pursues a music career to rival her acting one.

Lloyd Banks & Freddie Gibbs Join Forces On “Empathy”

Lloyd Banks has returned to the game with The Course Of The Inevitable, a bar-heavy project delivered with unwavering conviction. We’ve already showcased one of the project’s many highlights with the CartuneBeatz produced “Sidewalks,” and now we’re doubling down with another standout laced by the same capable hand. “Empathy,” which features a late-game addition of Freddie Gibbs, comes alive thanks to Cartune’s ominous and subtle production, a hazy boom-bap backdrop designed to be picked apart by clever emcees.

On that note, Banks sets it off with a whirlwind flow scheme, his dexterity commanding rapt attention. “The audacity it takes to rank me with the style I invented,” he raps. “Wear my credentials like it’s jewelry, they gave my flowers cemented / to hell with honorable mentions, artists are comical, temptin’ / horrible albums, new ventin’, three pounds of vomit, who sent ’em?”

Tasked with the unenviable job of following Banks, Gibbs is more than capable of keeping stride. Matching the PLK’s intensity while his menacing bars are enhanced by the dark instrumental, Gibbs is absolutely relentless in his brutal imagery. “Kitchen full of powder, I turn my bitch to a powderhead,” he spits. “Ni*gas takin’ deals, that’s the only way you get out the feds / Castrated, dick in his fuckin’ mouth when they found him dead.”

Check out “Empathy” now, and be sure to stream The Course Of The Inevitable right here.

Invisible Sculpture Sells For Over $18,000 In Italy

We’ve seen certain pieces of art fetch ridiculous prices on the blockchain as NFTs this year, but perhaps the most outrageous art purchase has been made in the physical space. Italian artist Salvatore Garau has been making headlines all week after one of his pieces, an invisible sculpture called Lo Sono (I Am), sold for over $18,000. The sculpture is not evident– in fact, nobody can even see it. It’s fully invisible.

The 67-year-old artist broke down barriers in the art world by auctioning off a piece for thousands of dollars, despite the sculpture not even existing. Garau would certainly disagree that the piece is non-existent as he has explained that he views it as a sort of vacuum.

“The vacuum is nothing more than a space full of energy, and even if we empty it and there is nothing left, according to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, that nothing has a weight,” he said to Italian outlet Diario AS. “Therefore, it has energy that is condensed and transformed into particles, that is, into us.”

The buyer of Lo Sono was not identified. The sale came with instructions on how to display the invisible sculpture in your private home, clarifying that it must be displayed in a roughly five-by-five-foot space free of obstruction. The buyer also got a certificate of authenticity.

“When I decide to ‘exhibit’ an immaterial sculpture in a given space, that space will concentrate a certain amount and density of thoughts at a precise point, creating a sculpture that, from my title, will only take the most varied forms,” continued the artist. “You don’t see it but it exists; it is made of air and spirit. It is a work that asks you to activate the power of the imagination, a power that anyone has, even those who don’t believe they have it.”

Would you pay $18,000 for a sculpture that’s not actually there?

Stephen A. Smith Says Karl-Anthony Towns Could Be On Blazers Radar

Stephen A. Smith has always been known to get scoops while live on the air, and today was no exception. At one point during First Take today, Smith dropped the bombshell that six or seven teams are looking at acquiring Damian Lillard in the offseason. Among these teams are the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, and even the Los Angeles Lakers. It was certainly some surprising news, and in the middle of the ESPN broadcast, Smith got even more Blazers-related insight.

In the Twitter clip below, Smith claims that a league source told him that the Blazers would be interested in Karl-Anthony Towns as he would be a great big man to place alongside Lillard. This seems like a very solid idea although as Smith was quick to mention, this was simply a comment made by a source close to the league’s operations.

“No need to corroborate! I said what I said. A well-connected league source simply texted me to say Karl-Anthony Towns would be a perfect fit with Dame in Portland. That’s all,” Smith tweeted.

The offseason is gearing up to be an exciting time for NBA fans and it looks like there could be a lot of interesting trades and signings. With this in mind, keep it locked to HNHH for all of the latest updates from around the league.

Jayda & Lil Baby Embrace In New Video Furthering Reunion Rumors

2021 has been a tumultuous year for beloved couple Lil Baby and Jada Cheaves. Although they’ve had their fair share of individual successes in the past 6 months, they’re relationship hasn’t enjoyed the same stability. However, things seem to be taking a turn and Lil Baby may have secured himself a second chance with the influencer and entrepreneur. In a video taken last night, the couple appeared together at Pee Thomas’ big birthday event, and it’s clear Lil Baby is devoted to Jayda once again. The rapper held on to her tightly as they had photographs taken, even kissing her on the cheek while they stood. Both donned wide smiles Lil Baby, real name Dominique Jones, embraced her amongst the crowd.

Their relationship seemed to be going great last year, and the couple quickly became a favorite in the hip-hop scene. Social media was flooded with images of the expensive items the couple gifted each other– everything from pink Jeeps to expensive Richard Millie watches. Jones even called Cheaves “the one” in September of last year.

However, a string of cheating rumors forced the couple into a toxic separation. The first of said rumors came from adult film actress Miss London, who tweeted that she had slept with the rapper for money. Jones confronted the actress aggressively over twitter DMs, though that wasn’t the last rumor of unfaithfulness to arise. Teanna Trump, another adult film actress, suggested to Jayda that she had slept with Baby in a series of mean-spirited tweets. These rumors erupted in a firestorm of tweets in which Jayda was the one hurt the most.

However, last night’s video as well as a string of other appearances in the past few weeks may point to a reunification of the couple, at least, this is what the fans are speculating. This couldn’t come at a better time for the wildly successful rapper who dropped the joint project The Voice of the Heroes with Lil Durk just today.

Do you think Jayda should give Lil Baby a second chance? Let us know.
