Shameik Moore, the voice of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has sparked controversy after posting a video featuring actress Laura Harrier. The clip, shared on social media, prompted Harrier to respond publicly, calling out Moore’s actions and questioning his intentions. Harrier, known for her role as Liz Allan in Spider-Man: Homecoming, responded via TikTok, revealing her frustration and clarifying her relationship status. “I keep seeing these videos,” said Harrier. “It’s really annoying because I’m literally engaged.” She added, “I get it—Hollywood loves PR stunts, people love attention—but this is crossing a line.”

Shameik captioned the post with “coming soon.” The timing of the posts, combined with the suggestive caption, fueled speculation and backlash on social media. Harrier elaborated on her discomfort, stating she reached out to Moore directly. “We’re not close. I texted him, ‘Hey, can you take this down? Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole Return On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and hip-hop still has some gifts to give us on our latest Fire Emoji playlist update, which rounds up the genre’s best releases this week. Leading the way is one more Kendrick Lamar track before his dominant 2024 comes to an end, and it’s another SZA collab on her SOS Deluxe: LANA, “30 For 30.” Unsurprisingly, they share a lot of vocal chemistry and charisma over an easy-going beat that fuses melodic rap flows with a bouncy clap beat. They both sound heavenly on the cut, closing out their year on a sweet, fun-loving, and confident note.

Speaking of “the Big Three,” our Fire Emoji update also highlights J. Cole’s tenth anniversary streaming re-release of 2014 Forest Hills Drive. It includes eight new bonus cuts that are really resonating with fans during this celebratory time, especially the hard-hitting and gritty “Die Together.” It features the North Carolina MC’s trademark vivid picture-painting, casual but solid rhyme schemes, and impassioned delivery. In other words, these tracks show everything that made 2014 Forest Hills Drive such an enduring and beloved record.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist

For those looking for some more relatively underground gems on Fire Emoji, we’re happy to say that one of 2024’s most prolific runs had one more chapter to cover. Following three other collaborative LPs with other producers, Boldy James dropped off the Hidden In Plain Sight EP with beat wizard whothehelliscarlo, and it’s a succinct but fittingly grimy unwinder. However, the title track, which features Conway The Machine and Styles P, is a good example of how the dusty and street-based vibe of the project can also mix beautifully with more soulful sounds.

As for new singles this week, we’d be remiss not to mention Gunna’s new single “GOT DAMN” and its chilled, calming, and dreamy synth atmosphere. While the trap drums are simple and not much happens here melodically, Wunna’s voice fills in the empty space for the most part. Finally on Fire Emoji, we wanted to shout out the new Tee Grizzley remix of “Diana,” which features Flo Milli. The drill swing courtesy of BNYX and the more auto-tuned delivery are a welcome change of pace for the Detroit spitter, whereas the Alabama femcee skates on the beat in breathy but engaging fashion.

Peysoh Follows Up On Kendrick Lamar Feature With “Peysoh Did It” EP

With Kendrick Lamar’s new project GNX, there was a huge emphasis on embodying the West Coast sound and then some. Overall, it did a great job at doing this sonically and visually, with the features helping out a great deal as well. K. Dot is extremely tapped in as we all know, and it showed once again on GNX. Artists like Lefty Gunplay, Hitta J3, AzChike, and now Peysoh, have been doing a wonderous job themselves. It goes for getting those features but capitalizing on them too. While they are known within West Coast circles, they weren’t really getting the same exposure until last month. Now, outlets and fans are starting to check out their material and there’s evidence to back that up.

The talent has been discovered and now it’s just a matter of building on that momentum. Peysoh, as we said, is taking those steps as we speak. He did so this weekend by leaving off a new five-song EP, Peysoh Did It. It’s a fitting title given the year he’s having due in part to the Kendrick collab. But he’s showing that he’s also a lot more than some sidekick. Peysoh has a murderous and cutthroat tone to his music and its prevalent on this new collection of solo tracks. Fans and other major artists have been backing these songs so far, and we are more than fine joining the hype train. See what Peysoh provides on Peysoh Did It, by checking out the streaming platform links below.

Dame Dash Warns Jay-Z That White Media Has Turned On Him Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Dame Dash previously expressed his shock at not just the sexual assault allegations against Jay-Z, but at the fact that he responded to them at all. During a new interview with The Art Of Dialogue, he expanded on these feelings by positing that white media is now launching a lot of backlash Hov’s way for basically the first time ever. Dame compared this situation to allegations against himself, for which he didn’t receive the same level of criticism as Jay. Of course, the fame levels are different. He hopes that nothing abhorrent actually happened, but he suggested that this is first time that white media and big industry powers did not give the Roc Nation mogul “a pass.”

“Like, he can control Black media ’cause a lot of them either work or do business with him,” Dame Dash remarked about Jay-Z. “But, like, you know, Drink Champs can’t get him out of this one, and neither can Charlamagne. ‘Cause those are the guys that hold him down no matter what he does anyway. So he got to get to People magazine and Entertainment Tonight right now, ’cause they on his head. But the question is why. Like, why now?”

Dame Dash Speaks On Jay-Z’s Sexual Assault Allegations

Furthermore, Dame Dash said that Jay-Z could just treat the case as ridiculous, so he doesn’t understand why white media is supposedly bringing the hammer down so heavily. As for the Brooklyn rap icon’s statement on the matter, he thinks that he needs to be open, say his side of the story, and answer questions consistently rather than allow his attorney Alex Spiro to handle things. For example, Dame thought that Spiro’s assessment of Jay’s public relationship with Diddy would bring a lot of backlash, and it did.

Meanwhile, as Dame Dash and many others offer their takes on these scandals, Jay-Z and his accuser’s lawyer Tony Buzbee continue to engage in a war of words and legal accusations. The most recent development in this area is Buzbee’s response to Jay’s request to impose sanctions on the attorney for allegedly filing a false claim. But we still don’t have any tangible or important legal developments to talk about when it comes to this case’s future.

GloRilla Leaves Fans In Shock With Throwback Picture That Shows Off Her Big “Glo-Up”

We’ve seen a couple of Big Glo throwback pictures of her pre-fame days in the years since her rise, but they somehow don’t get any less surprising. Moreover, GloRilla recently stopped by her high school to donate $25,000 to build a media center in their library, and she recreated an old photo that she took in front a trophy case. She also shared the old snapshot in question, and everything from the outfit to the hair and even her pose shows how much her style and image have changed. It’s not like the Memphis femcee is completely unrecognizable, but the recreation really emphasizes her transformation.

In addition to looking back at the people that made GloRilla who she is, she’s also looking to the future of her career. For example, she and Sexyy Red recently entertained the idea of a collab album between the two during a XXL interview. “Ratchet as f**k,” Glo posited. “It gon’ be some super ratchet s**t. The n***as gon’ hate us. No, I mean the men gon’ hate us.” “I think they’d love it,” the St. Louis hitmaker added. “Because we both trench-certified, you know? Two young ladies.”

GloRilla Shows Off How Much She’s Changed

“You know how we talk our s**t, though,” GloRilla continued. “When I first came out with ‘FNF,’ they was like, ‘Who is this b***h talking about f**k n***as?’ But it’s just a whole lot of ratchet.” “Everybody was remixing that motherf***er,” Sexyy Red responded. Elsewhere during their conversation, they also talked about how many people criticize them and other female rappers for their proclivity for overly sexual lyrics. They called this perspective, particularly the male one, a hypocritical stance, but they also faced some pushback for conflating critiques of quality with critiques of sensuality.

Nevertheless, GloRilla is closing out the year on a high note, even indulging in some holiday fare via the new Kehlani-assisted single, “Xmas Time.” To see her return to her high school to give back and look back on how far she’s come is a treat to witness, and we’re sure that there will be many more reflections and thankful moments to celebrate in her career next year.
