Megan Thee Stallion Officially Initiated ‘Megan May’ With A Racy Photo And A Warning To ‘Get Ready’

Last week, Megan Thee Stallion was sued for workplace harassment, an allegation that she vehemently denied through a statement from her attorney. That was April. This is May. And Megan Thee Stallion is looking forward to the month ahead.

On Wednesday, May 1, Hot Girl Meg posted a racy photo on Instagram alongside the caption, “Hotties it’s officially MEGAN MAY [snake emoji] Get ready [flame emoji].”

She followed that up with another photo within the same aesthetic vein alongside the caption, “[egg emoji, snake emoji].”

Megan Thee Stallion is expected to drop her third studio album sometime this year, and the LP is among Uproxx’s “Most Anticipated Albums Of 2024.” So far, Meg has released singles “Cobra” and “Hiss,” if you were wondering where the snake emojis came from.

An album title and release date haven’t been publicly confirmed yet, but Megan Thee Stallion announced her Hot Girl Summer Tour in March. The international tour will begin on May 14 at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and snake through North America until late June before Megan Thee Stallion pops over to Europe and the UK for a set of dates — ending at The O2 in London on July 17.

If Megan’s recent posts are any indication, May should bring more than just a tour to the Hotties.

When Will 4Batz’s New Mixtape ‘U Made Me A St4r’ Be On Apple Music?

4Batz, the mysterious newcomer who somehow secured a Drake feature before most people had ever even seen his face, is releasing his debut mixtape U Made Me A St4r this week after pushing it back early last month. It will be many fans’ first opportunity to learn about the semi-obscure character through the best avenue to do so: his music. So…

When Will 4Batz’s New Mixtape U Made Me A St4r Be On Apple Music?

With a release date of May 3, U Made Me A St4r should be available on DSPs like Apple Music in just a few hours from this writing, at 9 PM Pacific time, or midnight, if you live on the east coast. Thanks to recent snafus involving fellow alleged Drake collaborator Bfp Da Packman and early cosigner Kanye West, we can never be 100 percent sure that an album is hitting streaming on schedule, but 4Batz has maintained a pretty professional rollout so far, so there’s no obvious reason to believe he’ll miss his release date.

In Uproxx’s February interview with the nascent star, he said, “I would like to be remembered as the biggest artist in the world and one of the most humble people in the world who gave back and inspired people, and who you know was talented.” We’ll get our first chance to find out just how talented he is on 5/3.

When Will 4Batz’s New Mixtape ‘U Made Me A St4r’ Be On Spotify?

For the past few months, music fans have been fascinated and bewildered by the seemingly rapid rise of mysterious newcomer 4Batz, whose breakout song “Act II: Date @ 8” was blessed with a Drake remix despite his relative obscurity up until now. But this New Music Friday, May 3, fans will get an opportunity to learn more about him through his music as he releases his debut mixtape, U Made Me A St4r. So…

When Will 4Batz’s New Mixtape U Made Me A St4r Be On Spotify?

As always, it’s impossible to know for sure until the thing actually drops, but in all likelihood, it’ll be available to stream on DSPs like Apple and Spotify at midnight ET / 9 PM PT. While it’s always possible that there could be last-minute changes — just look at Bfb Da Packman’s anticipated Drake collab or Kanye West’s reputation for missing long-promised release dates as he does last-minute tweaks — but someone who can figure out how to get this far without anyone even knowing who he is probably runs a tighter ship.

Early this month, he pushed back the tape, promising it was “the best sh*t of my life,” so he clearly cares about his presentation and wouldn’t risk it by proving himself unreliable, but we’ll have to take his word for it on the overall quality of his lifetime of music. You can judge the quality of this tape, at least, at midnight on May 3.

TikTok Will Have Ariana Grande, The Weeknd And More Back On The Platform After Striking New Deal

A major battle over the future of how music is used on social media and how labels are paid for it may have just come to a close. After months of speculation about what Universal Music Group would do if they couldn’t come to an agreement with social media platform TikTok. The conflict was over paying out royalties for song use and the deal collapsed. As a result, UMG removed their music catalog from the app earlier this year. Fans were left unable to add songs from some of their favorite artists to their videos and found some of their older clips entirely muted.

That was months ago and there hadn’t been many updates since. That was at least until earlier this week when the label and social media platform surprised fans. They made the announcement that a new deal had been reached that would return all of UMG’s songs to the platform. The change hasn’t been fully enacted yet with some users still finding older videos in their catalog muted. It’s expected that the music will return to the platform within one to two weeks. The companies declined to release any hard financial data about the agreement they came to.

UMG and TikTok Reach New Agreement

The future of the entire TikTok platform could be in Jeopardy after a recent piece of legislation passed in the United States. Last month, President Biden signed a new bill into law that’s attempting to ban the platform. They’re calling for it to be removed unless its sold to new ownership. Experts claim that fans of the social media app won’t have to worry about it disappearing any time soon. Regardless the long term stability of the platform was certainly rocked by the ruling. That made the short term win of returning music to the platform a much needed victory.

What do you think of Universal Music Group and TikTok finally reaching an agreement to bring all of the labels songs to the platform? Do you think the debacle will lead other labels to try similar tactics when negotiating with the social media app? Let us know in the comment section below.

Canelo Alvarez Gets In Heated Exchange With Oscar De La Hoya

Things got very heated between Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De la Hoya in Vegas. Ahead of Canelo’s boxing match against Jaimie Munguia, the current boxing champ and boxing legend De la Hoya almost came to blows during the press conference. Before Canelo Alvarez’s championship bout, Oscar De La Hoya and Alvarez had to be separated after comments were made that Alvarez did not appreciate. De La Hoya began by throwing direct jabs at Alvarez during his speech at the press conference. Canelo had previously fought under De la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions organization. Álvarez did not appreciate the barbs and started barking back.

The two boxing icons had previously collaborated for years as fighters and promoters, but their relationship ended badly, and there is still some bad blood between them. Before Canelo’s outburst, De la Hoya said, “There were times my work wasn’t my priority based on my mental health which I neglected for so long but that doesn’t change the fact that Golden Boy built Canelo Alvarez, period.” He doubled down on his assertion, saying, “The company you fought under for decades has always had one name, and it’s mine, so put some f***ing respect on it.”

Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De la Hoya Separated At Oress Conference

Canelo Alvarez shouted out after De la Hoya’s comments saying, “He’s a f***ing asshole. That’s what I say. He’s a f***ing asshole. He tries to get attention for him, not Munguia. He’s a f***ing asshole. He steals [from his] fighters. F***ing p***y. Motherf****r.” The two then had to be separated as Canelo got up from his seat and approached Oscar. Oscar De la Hoya then went back to his seat and sat down as the situation calmed down.

Alvarez is the undisputed super middleweight champion and holds a 60-2-2 record with 39 KOs. he will face off against Jaimie Munguia. Canelo most recently defeated Jermell Charlo in September. Munguía is undefeated and holds a 43-0 record with 34 KOs. It is not going to be an easy fight for Canelo. Munguia is a Golden Boy fighter, making the drama in the ring reflect the drama that has taken place outside of it. Overall, it should be an exciting boxing match.

Amanda Seales Claims Boldy James Owes Her Money, Recalls Dating Pusha T & Lupe Fiasco

Last week, Amanda Seales’ Club Shay Shay interview dropped, along with no shortage of interesting revelations. During the interview, for example, she reflected on just how far she’s gone to help out her Black former partners. She brought up Boldy James as an example, claiming to have previously spoken to a parole officer for him. Seales even accused him of being in debt to her.

“If I hate Black men, I want a refund, Shannon,” she told Sharpe, shutting down any rumors that she “hates” Black men. “You know how many brothers I have lifted up? I want a refund!” She went on, listing some of the instances where she went out of her way to help out her exes. “I’ve done paid probation fees because n***as could rap and I want them to be able to live in their talent and their truth,” she explained. “I done spoke to a damn P.O. [probation officer] to vouch, Boldy James. And you owe me money.”

Further details of Seales’ relationship with Boldy James remain unclear, though he did rap about her on his track “Guilt” in 2021. Back then, he referred to her as her character in My Brother and Me, Miss Wilburn. “Hunnid a G, ‘member I got fronted the key/ ‘Fore the bag came, my gas tank was under the E/ Life took a ill turn on that Sunderland spree/ Now I’m f*ckin’ Miss Wilburn from ‘My Brother and Me’,” he rhymed.

Elsewhere in her interview, she also reflected on the other artists she’s dated, like Pusha T and Lupe Fiasco. “As you can see, the rappers that I have dated are very great MCs, because I have high quality,” she said.
