Hard Summer Festival’s 2021 Lineup Features Future, 2 Chainz, Lil Durk, And More

It’s been over a year since the last in-person music festival took place in the US. However, with the roll-out of vaccines taking place across the country, festival organizers are confident that large-scale live music events will be able to return in the coming months. Hard Summer Music Festival is especially optimistic, as they’ve unveiled their lineup for this summer’s event.

The hip-hop focused festival has invited big-names to perform at their event. Headliners include Future, 2 Chainz, Lil Durk, Don Toliver, and Iann Dior. Other musicians have also been tapped to take the stage like Mario Judah, Snot, Rubi Rose, Dillon Francis, and Jauz.

The festival is usually held in Fontana, California, but this year, Hard Summer is headed to NOS Event Center in the city of San Bernardino the weekend of July 31 to August 1. The new location makes it possible to have a more spread-out event, taking place across five different stages. Organizers are making efforts to have COVID precautions in place for the event as well. In press materials, the festival claims, “Hard will be working closely with local officials to implement necessary safety precautions and will follow state and local health guidelines in place at the time of the event.”

Hard Summer tickets go on sale 4/2 at 10 am PST. Get them here.

A Video Of Quavo And Saweetie Having A Fight In An Elevator Has Surfaced

Last week, fans of the Quavo and Saweetie couple were devastated to learn that the pair had broken up. Although both artists shared claims that the other was at fault, many fans speculated that Quavo’s infidelity was the reason behind the split. However, today, TMZ surfaced a new video that shows the two had a lot more problems than it appeared on the surface.

In the video, Quavo and Saweetie have an altercation in an elevator, caught by the elevator’s security camera. Saweetie takes a swing at Quavo, and the two scuffle over an orange suitcase with Quavo ultimately grabbing Saweetie and flinging her to the floor of the elevator. There is no sound, so we can’t hear what the two say to each other, but there’s some discussion before Saweetie gets up and walks past Quavo, who stays behind after propping open the door with the suitcase.

The former couple was a fan favorite before their breakup, with the story of Quavo’s DM icebreaker becoming a meme and sweet, behind-the-scenes stories filtering into their interviews. Fans fawned over the couple’s luxurious gifts to each other, but in her tweet confirming their breakup, Saweetie admitted that gifts weren’t enough to “band aid scars.” While those scars were initially thought to be emotional, this new revelation prompts the question of whether some were physical as well.

You can watch the video on TMZ.

Lil Nas X Is Trying To Will A ‘South Park’ Episode About His Satan Controversy Into Existence

Over the past few days, Lil Nas X has proven yet again that he knows how to get all sorts of reactions out of all sorts of people. With his “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” video and his controversial sneakers (both of which are Satan-themed), he has delighted some onlookers while making others irate. Now, he is hoping that his story will inspire an episode from a show that gets similar reactions out of its fans and haters: South Park.

This afternoon, Nas seemingly tried to will an episode of the show into existence by tweeting, “this gone be a good ass south park episode lmao.”

A South Park episode about Nas’ new controversy certainly isn’t outside of the realm of possibility. The show is made quickly, which allows Trey Parker and Matt Stone to tackle specific contemporary topics: Just this month, they released a special episode about the coronavirus vaccine. Meanwhile, Satan is actually a recurring character on South Park, so it’s not like an appearance from the devil would be out of the ordinary.

There’s certainly a lot of source material to work with: The maker of the “Satan shoes” is reportedly being sued by Nike and the Church Of Satan is on board with what Nas has been up to.

Post Malone Gets Shot In Jason Statham “Wrath Of Man” Trailer

Post Malone is back on the big screen, starring in Jason Statham’s upcoming movie Wrath Of Man. The rapper has been popping up in more and more projects that don’t involve his music, expanding his brand in Hollywood, and accepting roles outside of his comfort zone. He got to square off against Mark Wahlberg in Spenser Confidential, a crime drama for Netflix, and he’s officially returning to the silver screen with Wrath Of Man.

The trailer for the upcoming film was released this week, showing Jason Statham transporting large amounts of money in armored cars. Malone attempts to lead a heist on one of the cars but Statham was one step ahead of the rapper and his crew. As one of Posty’s sidekicks tries to grab the money, he gets shot, inciting a shootout between Malone and Statham. The action movie veteran does his thing, casually shooting dozens of rounds perfectly at his targets before catching up to Post effortlessly, ending his character’s misery with a couple of well-placed shots.

The new movie will be in theaters on May 7. Wrath Of Man was directed by Guy Ritchie.

Watch the trailer above and let us know if you plan on watching the new movie once it’s out.

Baton Rouge PD At Center Of Corruption Scandal Following NBA YoungBoy Arrest: Report

Last week, we reported that NBA YoungBoy had been scooped up by federal authorities in Los Angeles after attempting to flee from the agents on foot in a dramatic chase. At the time of his discovery, he was found with multiple firearms, which he’s prohibited from possessing due to his previous felony aggravated assault charge. He was picked up, however, because of an outstanding federal warrant stemming from a previous arrest in Baton Rouge back in September 2020. The Baton Rouge PD responsible for his fall arrest is reportedly currently at the center of a massive narcotics corruption scandal.

According to local news station WAFB9, Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore’s office is preparing to drop 640 drug cases tied directly to “potential corruption,” within the BRPD’s narcotics unit. The cases dropped range from different possession to weapons charges dating all the way back to 2015. Of the 640 cases, they were all handled by officers Jeremiah Ardoin and Jason Acree, who were both charged in connection with corruption within the agency. The case dismissals follow a month after four high-ranking detectives within the narcotics unit were reassigned with no explanation: Sgt. Drew White, Lt. Jeff Pittman, Sgt. Shane Mouch and Sgt. Seth Sinclair.

The September 2020 arrest that resulted in the outstanding warrant against the 21-year-old Baton Rouge rapper stemmed from an incident in which 16 people were busted in a parking lot on multiple counts of drugs and weapons charges. After a vehicle search, BRPD officers eventually seized handguns, rifles, drugs, $47,000 in cash, multiple pieces of jewelry, and a $300,000 made out to the popular rapper.

Right now, it’s unclear whether or not the young father of seven’s charges will be included among the ones set to be dropped. A LA County court judge set his bond at $540,000 last week, which he is expected to post as early as Tuesday (March 30). That’s only if a Louisiana judge approves of it, though.

We’ll keep you updated on NBA Youngboy’s legal drama as it continues to develop.

Smoke DZA Talks About The Origins Of The Smokers Club On “BagFuel”

Smoke DZA is one of the most titular names in the realm of stoner-rap. Serving as one of the founding members of the iconic The Smokers Club tour and festival, the rapper is one of the first to make cannabis a marketable entity within the rap arena. Last week, BagFuel co-hosts Hynaken and ESSO sat down with Minnesota newcomer BandUpSick on the HNHH hosted podcast to discuss his recent move to Los Angeles to further his rap career. On the latest episode of BagFuel, the co-hosts sit down with The Kushed God himself to discuss how he managed to monetize cannabis culture in rap music.

The trio launch into a discussion about the authenticity of some weed-centric rappers in the game that came after Smoke DZA and The Smokers Club era. BagFuel co-host ESSO then poses the question about where the idea to launch The Smokers Club brand and effectively monetize weed-smoking within rap culture originated from.

“Well, the idea of The Smokers Club came from, well sh*t man,” he began. “The Smokers Club always existed for me before it ever existed, you know what I mean? How it started? As far as it got commercialized.”

He went on to explain, “The idea came from us being together. Now, we knew we could do it once we executed it. Our first show, it was a premature show it was at SXSW. Late 2009. Before we actually went on the road. It was the first Smokers Club show, that’s how it was. The headline was Devin da Dude, the underdogs was me, Wiz, Spitta, kid named KDot who ended up being Kendrick Lamar, it was a lot, everybody that was somebody on the block performed at that show. The success of that led to the belief that we could take it on the road, you know what I mean, really make it a brand.”

As you may know, they indeed did go on to make it a brand, embarking on multiple tours and festivals since 2010 and selling merch from their site.
