In an Instagram post uploaded to his account earlier this week, AR-Ab was expecting the worst. “Sentencing week…don’t expect no leniency from them folks…but I’ll be right back on appeal,” he wrote in the caption. Philadelphia rapper AR-Ab, real name Abdul West has been entangled in a controversial case after authorities accused him of using his Original Block Hustlaz as the front for a “large-scale drug trafficking network,” reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Prosecutors alleged that in addition to trafficking drugs, the organization was involved with a number of murders, as well. West, who is respected in the music industry and worked with some of our favorite artists in the game, has denied the allegations against him, but it was clear that authorities were looking for a conviction.
The Inquirer reports that AR-Ab was sentenced to 45-years in prison and could very well spend the rest of his life behind bars. “You could have been a hero instead of a criminal,” the judge reportedly told the rapper who stood with his arms crossed. “But you became a drug dealer. You made that decision. That’s why you’re being punished.”
AR-Ab had a chance to say his piece before being carted off to prison and he didn’t hold back. “The court, the FBI agents, and the prosecutors don’t understand my culture,” he said, seemingly addressing how his lyrical content was a focal point of his trial. “We don’t rap about flowers and rainbows. We’re gangsta rappers. We rap about where we grew up. So we rap about drug dealing. We rap about violence.”

The Air Max 96 is a bit niche at this point but since it’s Supreme and Nike, we’re sure they will sell out instantly.

Although he’s recently been criticized for not helping his mother after a video of her went viral, Lil Nas X has spoken about the struggles that she faces. In an interview back in January 2020, Lil Nas X told Variety that while he doesn’t have the “closest relationship” with his mom, he still loves and supports her through her addiction.
“I never really talk about my mom. She’s an addict so we don’t have the closest relationship,” said the “MONTERO” singer. “Even trying to get her better — things didn’t quite work out. But there’s still love… The biggest surprise of becoming globally famous? On the outside, everybody loves you — but on the inside, everything [feels] the same.”
On Thursday (April 15), Lil Nas X’s father came forward to speak up for his famous son. According to dad, X can’t be blamed for his mother’s choices and everyone in their family is doing the best they can to help the singer’s mother during this time.
“Despite what people say @lilnasx is the greatest kid a parent can be BLESSED with. Although his mom is in a struggle with an addiction she’s STILL a QUEEN and he goes through great lengths to make sure we’re taking care of,” he wrote. “Those who have family members and friends dealing with addiction understands that there ain’t enough money you can throw at this situation to make it right. I dont usually address personal issues publicly but felt like this need to be.”

Deshaun Watson is currently in the midst of a large legal battle as he is being sued by 22 women for allegedly sexually assaulting them. In each instance, Watson allegedly reached out to them for a massage and when he showed up for his appointments, he began to get inappropriate and would make very suggestive gestures. Recently, the case count was as high as 23 although today, one woman withdrew her lawsuit due to privacy concerns.
According to TMZ, the woman filed paperwork saying that she didn’t feel safe revealing her name, which is now required per the judge’s orders. The paperwork did, however, stipulate that should these privacy concerns be rectified, she will refile her suit.
Watson and his lawyer Rusty Hardin have been adamant that Deshaun is innocent and as of right now, they are claiming that these lawsuits are simply a cash grab. Surprisingly, Hardin admitted that Watson had sexual relations with some of these women although he maintains that all of it was consensual.
The Houston Police Department is currently in the midst of an investigation into Watson although it could be a while before much of this gets resolved. Stay tuned for updates on the situation as we will be sure to keep you informed.

There have been repeated setbacks that have kept R. Kelly’s sex trafficking case in New York from going to trial, but the disgraced singer will reportedly face a judge this summer. Since July 11, 2019, Kelly has been incarcerated at Chicago’s Metropolitan Detention Center, but he has multiple investigations occurring simultaneously in several states.
In New York, federal authorities have alleged that Kelly and his entourage led a massive sex-trafficking ring that involved underage girls. Kelly has long denied any wrongdoing in all cases against him both in interviews, most infamously the sit-down with Gayle King, and through statements via his lawyer, Steve Greenberg.
The pandemic caused the New York trial to face a number of delays as the courts attempted to figure out when and how to safely transfer Kelly to the Big Apple, but now that we are on what looks to be the tail-end of the pandemic, things are quickly moving forward. The singer also reportedly received the COVID-19 last month, helping things along. According to The Associated Press, Brooklyn prosecutors allege that Kelly “led an enterprise made up of his managers, bodyguards and other employees who helped him recruit women and girls for sex.”
Investigators have reportedly lined up alleged victims who are prepared to testify to their experiences. For now, all of their names are marked as “Jane Doe” in court documents and it’s reported that the jury in this trial will remain anonymous. Today (April 15), Greenberg reportedly stated that the singer is “looking forward” to having his day in court.

He served 19 months of his 27-month sentence and recently celebrated getting his ankle monitor taken off, but Juelz Santana just can’t shake the authorities. The Dipset icon has been juggling his legal issues as he continues to handle business and take care of home, and it looks like a trip to South Florida has been axed by federal authorities after they claim he hasn’t been abiding by the rules of his supervised release.
According to legal documents reportedly obtained by TMZ, Santana requested permission to travel to Florida “for work,” but it’s unclear if he was making an appearance or jumping in the studio. In the end, it didn’t matter much to a judge who denied his request because authorities alleged that Santana has been enjoying his freedom a bit too much.
Santana needs permission to leave the state of New Jersey and his plans had a few holes. To begin, authorities stated that the rapper was planning on traveling with two convicted felons which automatically isn’t allowed. Court documents also reportedly stated that the U.S. Attorney claims Santana recently took a urine drug test and “tested positive for opiates and methadone.”
Jef Henninger, the rapper’s attorney, reportedly told TMZ that Santana would surround himself with “the right people” while traveling. Henninger didn’t confirm if Santana has been under the influence since released from prison and claimed that “the drug test was a false positive. It’s unclear how long before Santana could be approved for travel in the future.

Lamar Odom has had his struggles over the years although he has always maintained a solid support group that sticks with him no matter what. One of the men who always used to support Odom was none other than Kobe Bryant who tragically lost his life last year. His passing came as a huge shock to Odom who always looked up to Bryant in moments of hurt.
During an appearance on the “All The Smoke” podcast, Odom opened up about his relationship with Kobe and one of the last conversations he had with him. As Odom explained, he was in some debt due to gambling and he eventually called Bryant to help him out.
“I had been gambling and I had an old debt that got a little too steep for where I was at at that time,” Odom explained. “It was getting tight. And if you’re in a bad situation, especially about some money, he ain’t the one that you’re gonna want to call. He was just, ‘Have your people call my people, and then we’ll figure it out and that was one before the last time I spoke to him.”
While Odom knew Kobe wouldn’t be happy with him, the Lakers legend still helped him out, which is a testament to the kind of person Kobe is. On May 15th of this year, the iconic Lakers player will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and it is most certainly well-deserved.
Former Brooklyn Center Officer Kim Potter has posted her $100,000 bond and is home with her loved ones. The 26-year veteran shot and killed 20-year-old Daunte Wright during a traffic stop over the weekend and later reportedly claimed that she intended to use her Taser. The incident has been dubbed an “accident” by authorities, but Wright’s family is seeking justice.
It’s stated that Wright was initially pulled over due to expired license plate tags but it has also been reported that because he had an air freshener hanging from his rearview mirror, he was being cited for obstruction of view. Potter has resigned from her position and has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, a charge that Wright’s family doesn’t feel is enough.
On Thursday (April 15), Naisha Wright, Daunte’s aunt, gave an impassioned speech at a press conference. If convicted of the manslaughter charge, Potter is reportedly looking at a maximum of 10 years and the Wright family is calling for a life sentence. “Can we get a conviction? Can we get something? Manslaughter?!” said Naisha.
She then held up two photos: one of a bright yellow Taser and another of a police-issued Glock. The two weapons are purposefully made so that when handling, people can tell the difference in grip and trigger. “Please just keep us getting his name out there, and please help us in going to get something done, a conviction, something,” Naisha added.
“My brother and my sister need this woman to be convicted. If we could have life, we want life,” she said of a longer sentence. “We gotta go life without him.” Watch the emotional, and tearful, plea below.

Houston hottie Megan Thee Stallion and Chicago’s son Lil Durk take over the strip club in their new video for “Movie” from Megan’s 2020 debut album, Good News. The concept is rather straightforward; the two rappers perform and throw bills at the dancers while the latter show off their pole skills and twerk amid the piles of money.
“Movie” follows “Cry Baby” with DaBaby, “Body,” and “Don’t Stop” with Young Thug as the fourth single from Good News to get the video treatment. Despite releasing relatively few singles for her debut, Megan has remained visible since its release thanks to collaborations with Ariana Grande (on the “34+35” remix with Doja Cat), Maroon 5 (on “Beautiful Mistakes“), and Bankroll Freddie (on “Pop It“).
Meanwhile, her 2020 collaboration with Cardi B, “WAP,” continues to draw attention as well, prompting over 1,000 FCC complaints from the two rappers’ racy Grammy Awards performance. Megan picked up an award for Best Rap Performance with Beyonce for their remix of Thee Stallion’s 2020 breakout hit “Savage” (becoming the first women to win the award in the process) as well as a Best New Artist award.
