Bakar Celebrates The ‘Good News’ Of Being In Love On His New Single

The genre-bending Bakar is back with a vibrant new single. On his new single, “Good News,” the UK singer celebrates a special love in his life, finding joy in the small, intimate moments they share.

The track opens with a soft-acoustic guitar, as Bakar delivers his signature crooning vocals. A kick drum then sets in, giving the song a punchy, heart-thumping feel.

“All along I was feelin’ nothin’ / ‘Til you came along, I started feelin’ somethin’ / Man, I’m just glad you put me amongst it / This feels like good news / I can’t lie, man, I thought I lost it / Then you came along, made it feel like justice,” sings Bakar on the song’s opening verse.

Bakar previously premiered “Good News” at Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 23 Men’s show during Paris Fashion Week, where he served as the show’s music curator and composer.

Last year was a big breakthrough year for Bakar. On top of releasing his second album, Nobody’s Home, he opened for Travis Scott in London and released a fashion collaboration with the late Virgil Abloh. He is gearing up for a busy 2023, as he is set to perform at Coachella in April, as well as drop new music throughout the year.

Megan Thee Stallion And Big Sean Are Being Sued For Copyright Infringement

A Detroit rap duo is accusing Megan Thee Stallion of copyright infringement, claiming that a song from her 2020 debut Good News copies major elements of their own 2012, including its chorus, tempo, and tune. According to Complex, which acquired the court documents after rumors sprang up about the lawsuit on gossip blogs earlier this week, the lawsuit was filed by Duawn Payne and Harrell James, who go by Go Hard Major and H-Matic, and compares Megan’s track “Go Crazy” with their own song “Go Crazy.”

The lawsuit also names Big Sean, a featured artist on “Go Crazy,” as well as 1501 Certified Entertainment, 300 Entertainment, and Universal Music Publishing. Oddly enough, though, Complex notes that 2 Chainz, who also features on the song, is not named. Here’s the original “Go Crazy,” which you can compare to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Go Crazy” below:

Go Hard Major and H-Matic say they performed their song at multiple nightclubs in Detroit, Big Sean’s hometown, that he would have frequented. They also claim they’ve sold “thousands” of physical copies of the track on CD, creating plenty of opportunities for Sean to access the track. They’re seeking unspecified damages for copyright infringement and say they’ve sent cease and desist letters to both Megan and Sean.

Megan Thee Stallion Celebrates Her First Platinum Album By Showing Gratitude For Her Fans

2020 was big for Megan The Stallion thanks to her debut album, Good News. It features hit singles like “Savage” and “Body” and achieved a peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album came out in November 2020, and now, about eight months later, it has reached a major milestone: The album is now certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA), making it her first Platinum album.

The certification was confirmed on July 14, and last night, Meg celebrated the feat on Instagram by sharing a message for her fans, writing, “HOTTIESSSS GOOD NEWS IS OFFICIALLY PLATINUM [crying emoji] This is my first platinum album and I’m so proud! I made majority of this album in my living room during quarantine and to see it really do it’s thing makes me so happy ! Thank you everyone involved and most of all thank you hotties for RUNNING IT TF UP [horse emoji] can’t wait for y’all to see what’s next.”

Meg has long been appreciative of her fans and has shown it in tangible ways. She teamed up with Cash App to give away $1 million to fans in June. Earlier that month, she paid for a late fan’s funeral.

Mac Miller’s Brother Slams Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘Good News’ Film: ‘At Least Change The Title’

Machine Gun Kelly aka Colson Baker is the kind of multi-talented artist who can float easily between music and movies, but his most recent film choice has been a cause of irritation for some. Baker’s latest project is a film called Good News, which Deadline describes as the “the story of the last days of a rising but troubled musician. While the feature is a complete work of fiction, it takes its inspiration from the arcs of such contemporary artists as Mac Miller, Lil Peep, Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD.” Well, the family of at least one of those late musicians is not at all pleased about the project.

Instagram

Mac Miller’s brother, Miller McCormick, posted an Instagram story today voicing his distaste for the project. “F*ck you, f*ck your movie,” he wrote. “At least change the title.” This is a fair response given the name of the film seems to be a direct reference to a single of the same name off Miller’s posthumous project, Circles. Watching someone disconnected from a loved one make art about their life seems like a pretty brutal process, and the family recently spoke out on a similar matter about an unauthorized biography of Miller.

Machine Gun Kelly and the team behind the film have yet to respond.

Megan Thee Stallion Shoots A ‘Movie’ In The Strip Club With Lil Durk For Her New Video

Houston hottie Megan Thee Stallion and Chicago’s son Lil Durk take over the strip club in their new video for “Movie” from Megan’s 2020 debut album, Good News. The concept is rather straightforward; the two rappers perform and throw bills at the dancers while the latter show off their pole skills and twerk amid the piles of money.

“Movie” follows “Cry Baby” with DaBaby, “Body,” and “Don’t Stop” with Young Thug as the fourth single from Good News to get the video treatment. Despite releasing relatively few singles for her debut, Megan has remained visible since its release thanks to collaborations with Ariana Grande (on the “34+35” remix with Doja Cat), Maroon 5 (on “Beautiful Mistakes“), and Bankroll Freddie (on “Pop It“).

Meanwhile, her 2020 collaboration with Cardi B, “WAP,” continues to draw attention as well, prompting over 1,000 FCC complaints from the two rappers’ racy Grammy Awards performance. Megan picked up an award for Best Rap Performance with Beyonce for their remix of Thee Stallion’s 2020 breakout hit “Savage” (becoming the first women to win the award in the process) as well as a Best New Artist award.
