BRS Kash And Mulatto Pay A Few Bills Via ‘Kash App’ And A Wild House Party In Their New Video

When BRS Kash released his debut project Kash Only at the top of the year, one of the standout joints turned out to be the Mulatto-featuring, Cash Money Records-aping “Kash App.” The track was so popular that fans of the “Throat Baby” rapper wondered why he didn’t put the controversial XXL Freshman on the remix of his biggest hit to date.

Judging from the video for “Kash App” that BRS Kash put out today, it was so his and Mulatto’s collaboration could get its proper due. Rather than simply remixing an existing hit, this gives him a chance to promote his second potential hit, and given the video’s replay value, he’s off to a great start.

The video’s plot, such as it is, is simple and familiar: Kash is in town to promote a wild house party and offers to pay a few fans’ bills in the interim — which he does, naturally, via that instantly recognizable green screen (which displays some frankly unrealistic totals). It all culminates in a homebound twerk-fest that cops show up to shut down before being inevitably pulled in by the gratuitous booty on display.

Meanwhile, this may well be one of the last times Mulatto is listed as a guest feature on another rapper’s record. The Atlanta star isn’t going anywhere, she’s just been hard at work changing her stage name after drawing fire for promoting colorism with her controversial moniker.

Lil Nas X Exposes Tekashi 69 For Sliding In His DMs After Making A Tasteless Gay Joke About Him

“This you?” are two of social media’s most dangerous words. Often deployed when their recipient makes a statement contradicting earlier foul behavior, they can be especially devastating when their subject is a known troll who likes to post outrageous provocations for engagement. Today, Lil Nas X won the gold medal in their use (or he would have if such a thing existed) when he flipped the script on rainbow-haired agitator Tekashi 69 via Twitter.

After 69’s running buddy Akademiks posted a New York headline about China’s new supposed COVID-19 protocols, Tekashi chose to use the moment to disparage Lil Nas with a tasteless, homophobic joke. Tekashi responded to the headline — which reads “China Makes COVID-19 Anal Swabs Mandatory For Foreigners” in a fairly typical attention grab — by commenting “Lil Nas X has entered the chat.”

However, Nas, who plays the social media trolling game as well as Tekashi does — arguably better, considering the outcomes of their respective last two years — had the perfect response. Posting a video of himself dancing to his song “Call Me By Your Name” — titled after the Timothy Chalamet coming-of-age romance about a boy falling in love with his male tutor — Nas superimposed a screenshot of Tekashi’s comment over the video, followed by another screenshot of 69 sliding into his DMs on Instagram.

“Yo,” reads the direct message. “Gonna be in your city soon what you doing lol?” The question is followed by a heart emoji and an upside-down smiley face. We’ll let you draw your own conclusions, but it’s clear that Lil Nas is implying that perhaps this is a case of the pot calling the kettle a certain color. Check out Lil Nas’ reversal of Tekashi’s insult below.

Too $hort Says Drake Bailed On Collaboration After He Won 13 Billboard Awards

Too $hort is a Hip-Hop legend. Having such a prolific output and huge hits like “Blow the Whistle” and “Shake That Monkey,” several Hip-Hop artists would jump at the opportunity to collaborate with him. In a new interview for HipHopDX, however, the West Coast veteran tells E-40 about one rapper who doesn’t seem interested in working with him after all: Drake. In the clip below, the “Blow the Whistle” artist jokes about how the collaboration may have actually happened if the Toronto rapper hadn’t gone Hollywood after winning his historic 13 Billboard awards in 2017.

“I was really focused on being on that Drake vibe, and I was just about to do a song with Drake. I feel like it might have happened,” Too $hort explained, “and then he got the 13 Billboard Awards, and nobody answered the phone anymore. I was like, ‘F*ck,’ I ain’t call too many times. I just fell back like, ‘Damn. I missed the window.'”

E-40 responded to Too $hort’s humorous anecdote by saying, “You know what it is? $hort, let me tell you something. If Drake was out when ‘Blow the Whistle’ first came out going crazy or ‘Tell Me When to Go,’ he would have been on the records.”

“We would have been like, we send this over, he would have got on it right away because he get on hot shit,” the Bay Area rap legend confirmed. “He get on n*gga’s shit that’s hot. You know what I’m saying? We catch one, I’m sure he’d get on that. Drake roll with me. I f*ck with Drake.”

Too $hort then explained that he would still like to work with the Certified Lover Boy artist as well as his production team, saying, “It ain’t just that it’s Drake, though. It’s the music that comes from him and his producers. They like some good ass music, man. I wouldn’t just mind being part of one of them damn songs at some point.”

Would you be down to hear a Drizzy x Too $hort collab?

6ix9ine Says Lil Nas X Is Lying About Exposed DMs

Tekashi 6ix9ine may have rainbow hair but he wants no part in the rainbow flag. After leaving a derogatory and homophobic comment about Lil Nas X on Instagram, joking that the “Old Town Road” hitmaker “entered the chat” on a post DJ Akademiks made about China making COVID-19 anal swabs mandatory for foreign visitors, LNX called out 69 for allegedly sliding into his DMs and shooting his shot.

“Yo,” said the controversial rapper initially. “Gonna be in ya city soon what you doing lol?” he then asked with a heart emoji. The second message was seemingly sent only a month ago. Lil Nas X saw this as the perfect opportunity to expose the admitted snitch, asking “this you?” in a post that instantly went viral across social media platforms.

6ix9ine quickly saw the post and is trying to detract attention away from it, attempting to shut down current rumors about his sexuality as they come up. He posted a video on his Instagram Stories, showing alleged receipts that prove that he never sent the messages… except, he forgot that you can unsend messages on Instagram.

“Before this sh*t even starts we’re gonna nip this sh*t in the bud,” said Tekashi. “This is my ‘Gram right here. 6ix9ine, that’s my account.” He then proceeded to show his direct messages with Lil Nas X, insisting that he’s never sent the rapper a single message. However, there is a message request at the bottom of the screen, which means that 69 likely deleted the messages before filming the video.

What do you think about this? Was 6ix9ine trying to slide into Lil Nas X’s DMs?

Bas & J. Cole’s “Night Job” Was The Perfect Teaser For ‘Too High To Riot’

Today marks the five-year anniversary of Too High To Riot, the sophomore album from Dreamville artist Bas. Released on March 4, 2016, Too High To Riot arrived two years after his impressive debut outing Last Winter and found the French-American Rapper in a creative zone that expertly showcased his talents and growth as an artist. Executive produced by Ron Gilmore, the album boasted guest appearances from The Hics as well as Bas’ fellow Dreamville artists Cozz and J. Cole

Five years since the release of Too High To Riot, “Night Job” still remains as one of the highlights from Bas’ sophomore album. “Night Job” was the album’s lead single, and it featured an iconic guest appearance from none other than J. Cole, joining a long list of phenomenal collaborations between the fellow Dreamville artists. The single found both artists trading witty, high-energy verses, and it successfully got fans hyped for the then-impending release of Too High To Riot.

Where does “Night Job” rank for you in terms of Bas and J. Cole collaborations?

Quotable Lyrics

Too high to riot, that’s my best excuse for being lazy
Being an artist, that’s the best excuse for being crazy
I’ve been so infatuated, went to Clark and graduated
Now she on my face time and, my n****, she just masturbated

Adidas Yeezy Basketball QNTM “Sea Teal” Revealed: Photos

A few years ago, Kanye West teased sneakerheads with a Yeezy basketball shoe. At first, fans weren’t sure if these were actually going to make it to the market or if they were simply some sort of sample that Kanye was using to mess with us. Eventually, the word got out that these would be released, but no one knew when it would actually happen. Fans ended up waiting for years, as these finally came out in 2020 during the All-Star weekend in February.

Since that time, numerous new colorways have made their way to the market, and this past week, yet another model was shown off. This shoe is called the Adidas Yeezy Basketball QNTM in the “Sea Teal” offering. This name makes a whole lot of sense when you look at the shoe and realize that parts of the upper are made with teal primeknit. These various different shades create an algae-type aesthetic that will appeal to those who want something lowkey yet unique.

As for the release date, you will be able to grab these on March 19th, so keep your eyes peeled for information on how to cop. In the meantime, let us know what you think, in the comments below.

NBA Youngboy Pictured With Yaya Mayweather’s Son For First Time

If there’s one thing about Youngboy Never Broke Again, it’s that he’ll always find time to bond with his children. Though he’s been picked apart on social media and elsewhere for having so many kids at the young age of 21 (he allegedly has 7 children now), he’s often seen spending time with his little ones, involving them in his music videos and being an active father.

His newborn baby with Yaya Mayweather, named Kentrell Jr. after him, has been a source of joy for the Mayweather Family all year with Yaya and Floyd enjoying their time with the little one. KJ has gone on yacht trips, experienced lavish parties, and more. Until this week though, he hadn’t been pictured with his father. On Thursday, Yaya’s mom Melissia Rene Brim posted pictures of KJ with NBA, sharing them with the world.

“KJ with his dada,” wrote Melissia as the caption on her Story. NBA Youngboy was seemingly leaving Sparks Steak House in Manhattan, New York, carrying his newborn son before making his way to his car. YB and KJ were surrounded by a large entourage.

The photo was reposted by The Shade Room, where commenters are pointing out that the rapper doesn’t appear to have known his picture was being taken. As always, there is plenty of Yaya Mayweather slander in there too.

Hopefully, we see KJ and YB more often together. Check out the picture above.

Tory Lanez Shouts Out Drake For Dropping On Same Day & Shuts Down Hater

Last month Tory Lanez dropped the single “F.E.E.LS” featuring Chris Brown, from his upcoming R&B capsule, Playboy. The following week the capsule’s cover art and a release date of March 5th, was announced.

Using all-caps as he’s warrant to do, Tory declared, “HERE IT IS […] THE COVER OF THE RNB CAPSULE, ENTITLED “PLAYBOY.” THIS WILL DROP [ON] MARCH 5.”

While Tory’s project was previously-announced, Drake’s EP comes as a surprise to fans. His album Certified Lover Boy was initially set to release back in January but Drizzy announced on his Instagram story it would be delayed.

“I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab, my energy has been dedicated to recovery. I’m blessed to be back on my feet, feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021,” Drake wrote on his Instagram story.

The latest update on CLB comes from blogger DJ Akademiks, who previously reported CLB would be dropping before, or during, the month of April.  The blogger added Drizzy is working “overtime on creating this next masterpiece.”

Early Thursday morning, Drake instead announced a sequel to his 2018 Scary Hours EP, which featured the hit single “God’s Plan.”

“FRIDAY MIDNIGHT,” the caption read, simply.

After the announcement was made, social media went crazy with excitement for the new project. Among those tweeting about Drake’s impending release, was fellow Canadian rapper Tory Lanez who dubbed Friday a “great day for music.”

“Me and @drake both dropping on the same day…. great day for music,” Tory tweeted.

One Twitter user disagreed with Lanez however, saying Lanez music would get “swallowed” due to Drake’s release.

“Great day for your music to get swallowed,” the user replied.

Tory sarcastically clapped right back at the hater replying, “Yes yes . Swallowed by models … for my music being so good …. yes yes great day.”

With a Friday full of new music, whose project will you be bumping this weekend?

YNW Melly & Kodak Black Dropping New Music Tonight: Report

With the release of Kodak Black a few weeks ago, and the even-more-recent return of Bobby Shmurda, people have been left wondering about what’s happening with Florida rapper YNW Melly. The rapper was arrested on double murder charges two years ago and he has been locked up since then. Still though, Melly has been feeding his fans with a steady stream of new music, dropping his album Melly Vs. Melvin from behind bars. As the debate continues over whether the young rising rap star should be freed, it appears as though he and Kodak Black have some new music on the way, as supposedly confirmed by RapCaviar.

The ultra-popular Spotify editorial playlist just dropped a bunch of tonight’s upcoming releases on their Twitter feed, repeating the announcements made by Drake regarding Scary Hours, Lil Durk about the OTF compilation tape, and more. Apparently, YNW Melly and Kodak Black have a song together too, which is said to be dropping tonight as RapCaviar included them on the list.

YNW Melly has been releasing less new music in the last year, likely running out of unreleased material in his vault. However, he’s still managing to scoop up some vocals when the right person comes knocking, choosing to collaborate with Kodak for his latest musical effort.

Will you be listening to this one tonight? Let us know in the comments.
