Saweetie Strives For First By Keeping Things In ‘Fast (Motion)’ On Her Energetic New Banger

After dropping a new song for fans every now and then, Saweetie seems ready to flood the streets with music as the Bay Area rapper is already back with a new track. Her latest drop is an energetic banger titled “Fast (Motion)” and on it, Saweetie has her eyes on nothing but first place. She boasts about keeping things at a quick pace just like the life she lives, while leaving her competition in the dust behind her. The song arrives with a video that features the rapper as a soccer player, racecar driver, and skydiver, thus proving there’s nothing she can’t excel at.

The new track arrives after she dropped off her Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 project last month. Its seven tracks saw appearances from Drakeo The Ruler, Lourdiz, Kendra Jae, Bbbyafricka, and Loui. While the real full-length effort that the rapper’s fans are waiting for is her upcoming debut album, Pretty B*tch Music, they’ll have to exercise their patience for a bit longer as it’s set for a release at some point this summer. In the meantime, Saweetie has been working on her crafting at an artist development boot camp she attended. “For me, I’m gonna focus on what I struggle with,” she said about the camp. “I struggle with breathing control, I’m gonna work on my dance moves, my details, all that good stuff, my body, my stamina, everything.”

Saweetie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Trippie Redd Taps Playboi Carti For “Miss The Rage” Single

Days after it was reported that Trippie Redd named Playboi Carti as one of his Top 5 favorite rappers of all time, the Ohio native drops a single with one of his GOATs. The rappers share the stage on “Miss The Rage,” a single slated to be released on Trippie’s forthcoming project, Trip At Knight. Trippie capitalized off of the play on words for the single’s visualizer that looked much like a video game where he portrays the main character of a knight in battle.

“Listening to Uzi’s sh*t back in 2015 [to] ’16, that sh*t was different. And Carti, at that time. They was on some other sh*t for the young n*ggas,” Trippie recently told XXL. “They did some crazy sh*t for us. They really opened doors for us to do a lot of sh*t that we do. You know, the n*ggas from the SoundCloud era might not say it too much, but definitely, they some of the G.O.A.T.s from our era.”

Smokin’ gas, smell the fumes, I’m in that ‘Vette, it go “Vroom”
I’m a vet, lil’ dude, you a pet, do what I say, not what I do

Saweetie Shares Sports-Inspired Visual To “Fast (Motion)” Single

Last month, Saweetie shared her Pretty Summer Playlist, the first in what she says will be a yearly series. The Bay Area rapper shared that she intended to use the playlist to give shine to artists that she believes deserves more visibility, but what her fans have been waiting for is her anticipated debut studio album, Pretty B*tch Music. The project’s release is expected to arrive sooner than later, especially considering Saweetie recently shared that she’s been locked away at boot camp as she improves her skills.

On Friday (May 7), Saweetie intensified the hype around her forthcoming project by sharing a new single along with an accompanying video. “Fast (Motion)” is a catchy Pop-Rap track where Saweetie once again stays in her genre-blending lane. In the video, she highlights various sports including track, football, and basketball, while showing off her dancing skills.

Quotable Lyrics

Iciest b*tch in the whole damn land
I hit the road in an all-white Lam’
I keep a fresh set up on my hands
You don’t like me, but you on my ‘Gram
How you look? (How you look?), how you sound, ho?
I’m a boss, I’m a brat, hard to handle

Isaiah Rashad Triumphantly Returns With “Lay Wit Ya” Ft. Duke Deuce

With Dreamville and Top Dawg Entertainment dropping on the same day, Hip Hop fans are imploding on social media. We’ve already shared J. Cole’s new single “Interlude” from his forthcoming The Off-Season that drops next week, and here, we’re highlighting Isaiah Rashad’s latest effort “Lay Wit Ya” featuring Duke Deuce. The Tennessee native took over Fader as their cover feature where the rapper revealed that his next album, The House is Burning, would be arriving in June.

It’s been five years since Rashad gave us The Sun’s Tirade, and he detailed the struggles he endured since the album’s release. “I was really disgruntled,” Rashad told Fader. “Instead of just explaining myself, I just assumed that n*ggas knew. Or I would just be drunk spazzing. And nobody hears that. They just hear that you’re drunk. You know they called me Bobby Brown? That sh*t hurt the f*ck out of my feelings. That’s the worst type of vibe ever.”

He attempted to get himself back in the studio, but he found it difficult to create. “I took it seriously, but I was drunk in the studio and trying my best to make my confidence swell way larger than it actually was at the time,” he said. “I couldn’t pull off even acting like I wanted to rap for money, or like I wanted to rap to express myself. I didn’t know exactly how to put into words what I felt.”

Isaiah Rashad is back on his grind and ready to share his talents. Check out “Lat Wit Ya” featuring Duke Deuce and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

Cole world, n*ggas knowin’ what it is
Just in case they don’t, I show ’em what it is
Then in Summer, I do real numbers
Couldn’t dare touch it if they sold the double-disc
Block hot, n*ggas burnin’ up the street
Shots poppin’ and we heard it up the street
It’s a war, n*ggas runnin’ up the score
Jesus said that you should turn the other cheek

Jeezy Credits Snoop Dogg And E-40 For Helping Him Get ‘Back On The Right Course’

More than a decade and a half ago, Jeezy arrived on the hip-hop scene as one of the earliest trap artists in the genre, joining the likes of T.I. and Gucci Mane. In the years that followed, Jeezy, who hails from Atlanta just like the other aforementioned artists, would go on to drop well-appreciated albums and mixtapes and grow into one of the most respected rappers from that time period. However, in Jeezy’s own words, his rise didn’t come without lessons from a pair of rappers that came before him, them being Snoop Dogg and E-40.

During an appearance on Spotify’s Best Advice podcast with Kim Bennett Taylor, Jeezy shared a time where Snoop Dogg and E-40 “g-checked” him after a run-in with the law during a video shoot.

“Snoop Dogg and E-40 they looking at me like I’m crazy. Say ‘you know what? You know what’s the difference between you and Pac?’ and I was just like ‘Whoa.’” he said on the episode. “I’m like ‘OK’ and they just went on to say ‘Yo listen, he never stopped what he was about. He never let up on his people. He never…’ and it was like ‘Yo, you, you better get out here and do what you’re supposed to be doing. Because these people believe you and they riding with you. And you ain’t moving right. And we telling you that.”

Jeezy continued to praise and thank Snoop and E-40 for their actions. “I don’t really think, you know, Snoop and E40 and those guys get enough credit for who they really are, man,” he added. “Like you know, those guys save lives you know what I’m saying. And, and, and they definitely got me back on the right course but they’ve been through what I’ve been through.”

Floyd Mayweather Sits Down For Interview Immediately After Jake Paul Spat

Not long after the unexpected brawl at Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul’s press conference erupted earlier today (May 6), the boxing icon sat down for an interview with Barstool Sports. Mayweather chatted with The Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley and although the boxer had calmed down tremendously after the heated exchange, it was clear that there was still a fire burning inside.

Jake Paul has continued to taunt Mayweather after snatching his hat off of his head and trying to make a run for it. Clips of the incident have been shared and reshared online as it shows Paul receiving the hands-on treatment from Mayweather and his camp.

“Today, I had a small problem. A little problem. Really no big problem,” said Mayweather in the preview to the upcoming interview. “Um, kid wanted to test the waters and tried me out.” Pressley then joked, “He stole your hat. No cap.” Laughter can be heard before Mayweather says with a smile, “That’s a good one. Good metaphor. I think I still got the cap. So, where the cap at?”

Pressley wanted to know if the cap held any significance to Mayweather. “It’s not an important cap but it is what it is. He did what he did and I did what I did.” Check out the clip below.
