YG & Mozzy Unite North & South California On New Song “Bompton To Oak Park”

Mozzy’s manager previously revealed that the Sacramento-based rapper was working on a collaborative album with YG. The exciting team-up would mark a union between North and South California as Bompton meets Oak Park. It seems as though the project could be coming pretty soon because the duo of West Coast rap forces has officially released their first joint video for the new single “Bompton To Oak Park.”

YG and Mozzy put their neighborhoods on the map in this brand new record, unapologetically delivering gritty lyrics over a beat from Jay P Bangz. The street anthem comes alongside a new video, which sees Mozzy and YG in their respective zones, mobbing with their gangs in front of local landmarks.

Watch the video for “Bompton To Oak Park” below and stay tuned for their joint album.

Quotable Lyrics:

Everybody eatin’, catch a body, you gone starve, n***a
Claimin’ everybody, you gone know we was involved, n***a
Pull up in something brazy, push a button, it’s gone start, n***a, yeah
There go them Bompton and Oak Park n***as

Eminem Geeks Out For Redman’s Bars With “Till I Collapse” Throwback

On “Till I Collapse,” a record-setting highlight from the 2002 classic The Eminem Show, Eminem outlined his nine favorite rappers in an implied numerical order. “It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, 2Pac, and Biggie, Andre from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas, and then me,” he rapped, paying homage to his most-respected lyricists.

While it’s entirely possible that his list has altered drastically in the years that followed, Em’s lyrical co-sign of eight heavy hitters has been oft-cited among his most quotable moments. In fact, during Redman’s recent 4/20 Verzuz concert alongside Method Man, he sported a t-shirt reciting the top three names on Em’s list, validating Slim’s position as a connoisseur of the craft.

Only a few days removed from Redman’s major “Till I Collapse” callback on Verzuz, Eminem came through with a rare tweet celebrating the work of his fellow wordsmith. “It goes Reggie…” captions Slim, sharing a snippet of Redman’s recent single “80 Barz” — in case you missed it, listen to the latest from Reggie Noble right here

Though they only collaborated on two occasions in “Off The Wall” (read further analysis on that zany and lyrically-driven duet right here) and the deep cut “I See Dead People,” it has long felt as if a third collaboration was overdue. As evidenced by Em’s latest post, he still holds Redman in the highest regard, unsurprising given how much influence the New Jersey emcee has had on his own artistry. With the public displays of mutual respect at an all-time high, perhaps now is the time for Reggie and Slim Shady to reunite at long last.

Do you think we’re on pace for a new collaboration between Eminem and Redman?

Travis Scott Reflects On Derek Chauvin’s Guilty Conviction: “We Finally Got Justice”

Even though Travis Scott is currently one of the biggest artists in the music industry, he is also steadily giving back to his community. The Astroworld rapper also spearheads The Cactus Jack Foundation, which, to date, has awarded college students with HBCU scholarships and helped feed over a thousand families during Houston’s devastating winter storm earlier this year.

Now, Travis has come forward to reflect on the recent guilty verdict in Derek Chauvin’s trial. In an interview with the Associated PressTravis Scott discusses George Floyd’s tragic passing as well as the unexpected guilty verdict for his murderer. “I mean, we felt that we finally got justice toward some shit that was just very disgusting,” the JACKBOYS artist states.

“You know, for it to take so long to finally catch something like a verdict like this,” he continues, “for the things that happen every day—even during the week of his trial, you’re seeing still it’s continuing—I’m glad that it’s justice for the Floyd family.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Travis also touches on how the country can move forward following Derek Chauvin’s guilty verdict. Like several other celebrities, the Cactus Jack Records founder appreciates the end result in Derek Chauvin’s trial, but he also acknowledges that there’s plenty of more work to do.

“Now we can try to work forward to even just try to stop it, in a mass picture, you get what I’m saying?” Travis says. “Trying to get to the next step where we can halt this attack, you know, whether it’s from the police or any walking person and just try to get to a more balanced spot in the world. Because this shit, it’s just crazy.”

Zion Williamson Reveals His Dunking Mt. Rushmore

Ever since his high school days, Zion Williamson has received a ton of publicity. It makes sense considering his massive stature and unreal athletic abilities. As soon as he went to Duke, international audiences took notice of just how dominant he can be and ever since entering the NBA, he has only improved his game. He has proven himself as one of the most fun dunkers to watch and it’s clear that some of the game’s best have been able to inspire him.

Recently, Zion got to be a guest on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast “Club Shay Shay.” During the podcast, Sharpe asked Zion about some of his favorite dunkers and which ones would go on his NBA Mt. Rushmore. Clearly, Zion has some pretty good taste has he mentioned some dunking legends.

At the top of the list was Michael Jordan which is a pretty obvious choice for any NBA fan. From there, Williamson picked the likes of Dominique Wilkins, LeBron James, and even Vince Carter to round out his list. All four of these players are legendary in their own right and as he continues down his current path, Zion could very well be headed in a similar direction of superstardom.

Let us know who would make up your dunking Mt. Rushmore, in the comments below.

Earthgang Are Trying To Fund A Community Garden At An Atlanta Middle School

Thursday marks Earth Day 2021 and, true to their name, rap duo Earthgang are aiming to make the planet a little healthier. That’s why they’ve teamed up with Atlanta’s Young Middle School to launch a fundraising to build a community food garden at the school.

Earthgang created the initiative on GoFundMe, noting that students at the Young Middle School “reported food insecurity to be one of the biggest barriers to their success in a 2019 student survey.” The fundraiser has a monetary goal of $200,000, and it’s already raised over $10,000. The GoFundMe description states, “Earthgang hopes to inspire healthy eating and activity, lifelong learning and address food insecurity in the community by restoring a plot of donated land and establishing a robust community garden that will seek to strengthen the local community and provide learning to Young Middle School students and their families.”

Earthgang’s Olu offered a reason behind their charitable project, saying they hope the garden will impact children for years to come. “It’s nearly impossible to focus on education, mental health and financial stability when you don’t have the basic necessities of proper food, shelter and protection,” he said. “This project is a gift to future generations.”

WowGr8 echoed Olu’s statement, saying, “Sustainable living grows more important with each new generation. Promoting agriculture to youth is essential for changing the scope of what our community considers acceptable nourishment.”

Young Middle School’s Principal Ronald Garlington thanked the rap duo for their support in a statement. “Young Middle School is grateful to Earthgang for their commitment to making the Young Middle School Community Garden a reality,” Garlington said. “Via this garden, students will be provided hands-on learning and problem-solving opportunities, increased environmental awareness and frequent occasions to build strong connections to their community!”

The ‘Call Of Duty: Warzone’ Season 3 Trailer Features Everyone From Young Thug To Mookie Betts

No video game took over in 2020 more than Call of Duty: Warzone, as the free-to-play battle royale became massively popular as it dropped right at the start of pandemic restrictions hitting in March and people finding themselves having to find ways to pass the time at home. A year later and Warzone is still plugging along and entering Season 3, which will see updated maps, weapons, and gear hit after they nuked Verdansk Island to end Season 2.

To celebrate the start of Season 3, the game brought together a number of their biggest celebrity players from the world of sports, music, and entertainment for a ridiculous two-minute trailer that was released on Thursday morning — along with a call to drop in to Verdansk84. The trailer, which you can watch in its absurd entirety above, opens with Young Thug leaping out of a building and grabbing onto a helicopter piloted by Gunna, who then blows up the building that Thug presumably rigged with charges. Jack Harlow, Saweetie, Swae Lee, and others from the music world are featured, along with Dennis Schröder, Jack Grealish, and Mookie Betts from the sports world — with Betts hitting a grenade out of the air with his rifle like a baseball.

In case there were any wonder if Call of Duty was still raking in cash thanks to Warzone, this trailer and all the celebrity cameos should provide the answer, but if it gets people to drop back in, that’s all they care about.
