Young Thug, Post Malone, & A$AP Rocky Drop Smooth New Track “Livin It Up”

At long last, Young Thug has released his sophomore studio album (isn’t that crazy?) Punk with features from Gunna, Drake, Future, Travis Scott, Doja Cat, Juice WRLD, Mac Miller, and more. Considering the influence that Thugger has had on the rap game for the last few years, it sounds shocking to hear that Punk is only Thug’s sophomore album, but with his mixtape run officially in the rearview, the Atlanta rapper has delivered a genre-bending sonic experience, where he’s once again dictating a new sound.

Over the years, Young Thug has shown that he will not conform to the formal rules of music. While he has crossed over to the pop side on occasion, the rapper has also dabbled in other genres over the last half-decade, making some country songs, some rock tracks, a few dance tunes, and more. Now, he’s smoothing out genre lines to present Punk, collaborating with Post Malone and A$AP Rocky on “Livin It Up.”

The first thing you’ll notice about the chilled-out new track is Post Malone’s catchy chorus, which will likely end up sticking to your brain. Young Thug creates a great blend with poppier elements from Posty on the chorus, and a rap verse from A$AP Rocky, who complements his voice in the second verse.

Check out the new record below, and be sure to listen to Punk in its entirety today.

Quotable Lyrics:

We got forty-five bitches just livin’ it up
Been too damn long without a sip of my cup
Sayin’ once too many, hundred isn’t enough, alright
Don’t worry ’bout 12, no, they ain’t showin’ up
Rocky came with the shots, Thug came with the blunts
Sayin’ once too many, hundred isn’t enough, alright, yeah

Young Thug, Drake, & Travis Scott Get “Bubbly” On Collab

After a slight delay, Young Thug has delivered. Like most New Music Friday releases, fans expected Thugger’s Punk, stylized as P*nk, to arrive at 9:00 p.m. PST, 12:00 a.m. EST. Instead, when the album didn’t arrive, the public found itself trading questions and concerns on social media as they speculated about whether or not this would become another Donda experience. However, Young Thug reappeared with the project’s tracklist and an update letting the world know that he would share the record at 12:00 a.m. PST.

Now that it is here, there are plenty of standout tracks that deserve recognition. Of course, there are stellar features on Punk including posthumous looks from beloved artists like Mac Miller and Juice WRLD. We will certainly give several of these tracks attention, but we’re going to kick things off by highlighting “Bubbly” featuring Drake and Travis Scott.

This trio together makes perfect sense as they are three leading moguls in the Rap industry with their own labels, clothing lines, and partnerships. Stream “Bubbly” and let us know where this stands on the list of your favorites from Punk.

Quotable Lyrics

Been on the charts for 500 weeks

Young Thug Dominates On “Punk” Ft. Drake, Travis Scott, J. Cole, Gunna, Juice WRLD, Mac Miller, Doja Cat & More

The last time we received a project from Young Thug and his camp was back in April when YSL delivered Slime Language 2, but Thugger has returned. The Georgia icon has dropped off his sophomore studio album Punk, stylized through his promo season as P*nk, and it is a record that proves the rapper’s reign isn’t ending anytime soon.

Young Thug opted to keep the album’s tracklist close to the chest and for good reason, as it is stacked with coveted features to round out a record poised for the top of the charts. In a recent interview with Complex, Thugger revealed that the bulk of his career, recently, has been filled with him enjoying the art of storytelling in his rhymes.

“I usually don’t show emotion, which is why my storytelling songs be so hard,” he admitted. “Y’all usually don’t see nothing from me, so when you hear a song that’s really serious, you’re like, ‘Oh my f*cking God.’ You remember a n***a human. Like, ‘OK, he is human, and he’s saying sh*t that we’re really going through right now… Punk is just real-life stories. The whole album is purified. It’s just real.”

Features include looks from Drake, J. Cole, Travis Scott, Gunna, A$AP Rocky, Post Malone, Doja Cat, and more, along with posthumous features from Mac Miller and Juice WRLD. Stream Punk and let us know what you think of Thugger’s latest.

Summer Walker And City Girls’ JT Address Their Partner’s Old Lover On The Relentless ‘Ex For A Reason’

It was just two years ago that Summer Walker arrived to take R&B by storm with her excellent debut Over It. After releasing the song, Summer shared a message with her fans on Twitter. “Don’t fight over a n**** that got his attention all over the place,” she wrote. “.I hope y’all learn from my mistakes.”

Prior to the song’s release, Summer Walker revealed that Still Over It would be laced with 20 songs that include “Ex For A Reason.” She also revealed two additional song titles from the album, “Bitter,” the album’s opening track, and “Ciara’s Prayer,” its closing track which features an appearance from Ciara.
