Fetty Wap Stands Alone On 17-Track Project “The Butterfly Effect”

There was a time in Rap history when Fetty Wap was the big “it” artist on the block. He dominated the charts and airwaves with tracks like “My Way” and “Trap Queen,” but fans noticed that as time has progressed, Fetty hasn’t had the same impact on the culture. His name has been entangled in headlines pertaining to his exes, mother of his children, paternity, the loss of his daughter, along with his marriage and divorce. While there have been a few releases over the years, Fetty fans have been awaiting the arrival of his comeback.

Many are claiming that Fetty Wap’s The Butterfly Effect, an album he shared on Friday (October 22), marks a new chapter of the New Jersey rapper’s career. He stands alone on the 17-track effort with hopes that his labor of love will be well received by Hip Hop fans. We’ll let you decide on that, so stream The Butterfly Effect and share your thoughts.

Majid Jordan Deliver “Wildest Dreams” Ft. Drake, Diddy, Swae Lee

It has been nearly four years since Majid Jordan released an album, and now the OVO Sound duo has delivered Wildest Dreams. During the rollout of this record, Majid Jordan has shared several singles including “Been Through That, “Summer Rain,” and “Waves of Blue,” and they continue to unravel their ethereal essence on Wildest Dreams.

The album is stacked with lyrics centered on romance and love as they float through sounds reminiscent of some throwback favorites, thanks to those ’80s synths. They kept their features to a minimum and opted to call on Swae Lee, Diddy, and Drake for added vocals. Not a bad addition at all.

As usual, Majid Jordan makes it difficult to box them into one genre, so stream Wildest Dreams and let us know what you think. Also, make sure to check out our interview: Majid Jordan Break Down New Album “Wildest Dreams” & Favorite “Certified Lover Boy” Songs.

Elton John Taps Young Thug & Nicki Minaj For “Always Love You”

This seems like an unlikely trio of musicians that should appear on the same record, but Elton John is making moves. The entertainer is a legend in the industry with a career that has spanned decades upon decades, but his musical tastes have evolved with the culture. John has often spoken out about Rap and R&B artists that he admires including the likes of Teyana Taylor, Big Sean, and Lil Nas X.

Elton John’s new album The Lockdown Sessions arrives today (October 22), and fans have been anticipating his “Always Love You” collaboration with Young Thug and Nicki Minaj. He previously spoke about Thugger freestyling his verse, admitting he was “blown away.”

“I mean, I’ve seen Marshall [Mathers] do it in Detroit, but I’ve never seen someone like Thug come in and do that,” he said. “In the end, I had to leave because I think he felt a bit intimidated that I was there and I just wanted him to relax. But it’s just an amazing moment in my musical life… I have no understanding of how Rap records are put together and it’s fascinating to watch.”

Stream “Always Love You” and let us know your thoughts on this collaboration.

They have been hyping this track on social media with clips of their throwback-inspired music video, and now Quavo and Yung Miami are ready to show the world what they have been working on. Recently, Atlanta lit up with the revived FreakNik weekend as several artists took to the stage at Morris Brown College. Just prior to the festivities, Yung Miami dropped a sneak peek at “Strub the Ground,” and the looks were a nod to the 1990s.

The pair of southern rappers are hoping that “Strub the Ground” will become the next big dance hit that sweeps the globe. It is poised to be a favorite at nightclubs worldwide, but we will have to see how its fares on the viral scene. Wale has been defending his position in the Rap game against naysayers and trolls, and he has returned with a project that he believes will set the detractors straight. We have been hearing quite a bit about Folarin II in these last few weeks as Wale rolled out his anticipated project. The album is executive produced by the DMV rapper and Rick Ross, and it is stacked with features that help complement Wale’s vision.

Police were quickly dispatched to the location where they rushed 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins, the Director of Photography, and 48-year-old Joel Souza, director, to two hospitals. Hutchins reportedly passed away not long after arriving.

Ms. Hutchins was transported, via helicopter, to University of New Mexico Hospital where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Mr. Souza was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical center where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.

This investigation remains open and active. No charges have been filed in regard to this incident. Witnesses continue to be interviewed by detectives.

The Director of Photography Guild issued a statement about Hutchins’s death. “We received the devastating news this evening, that one of our members, Halyna Hutchins, the Director of Photography on a production called Rust in New Mexico died from injuries sustained on the set,” said the Cinematographers Guild’s National President, John Lindley, and National Executive Director, Rebecca Rhine, according to reports.

Beyonce’s Upcoming Song, ‘Be Alive,’ Highlights A New Trailer For Will Smith’s ‘King Richard’

Last month, thanks to the premiere of the King Richard biopic at the Telluride Film Festival, Beyonce fans learned that the singer would soon be releasing new music. One of her upcoming songs, titled “Be Alive,” will appear in the movie and a quick preview of the track can be heard in the newest trailer for King Richard. The track is a moving ballad with a heavy piano presence that focuses on overcoming tough battles.

“Can’t nobody knock it if they try,” Beyonce sings on the song, later adding, “Do you know how much we have pride? / How hard we have to try?”

The upcoming King Richard film is executive produced by tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams as it follows the siblings from their youth to adulthood as they overcome numerous hardships to be the legendary tennis players we know them as today. Will Smith plays the role of their father while Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton play Venus and Serena respectively. This film will arrive in both theaters and on HBO Max next on November 19.

The preview of Beyonce’s upcoming song comes after she praised Balmain’s creative director during the brand’s spring/summer 2022 fashion show in Paris. She also shared a touching note to fans thanking them for their wishes after she turned 40.

Big Sean Reminisces On The Past ‘Brotherhood’ He Had With GOOD Music And Says He Can ‘Out Rap’ Anyone

Earlier this week, Big Sean stopped by Power 106’s LA Leakers show to lay down a blistering freestyle. The Detroit native rapped over Kanye West’s “Hurricane,” on which he originally had a verse, Drake and Jay-Z’s “Love All,” Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek’s “Dear Summer,” and Nardo Wick’s “Who Want Smoke??” for nearly nine minutes. He tackled a number of topics throughout the freestyle from NBA players sliding into his girlfriend’s DMs and spending time with Kobe Bryant on New Year’s Day in 2020 to his days before signing to GOOD Music.

Just a day after that freestyle was released, Sean returned to Twitter to share some more thoughts and get a few more things off his chest with fans.

“I take pride in being versatile but I can also see how’s its helped and hurt me in my career,” he wrote. “Cause some people hear a song n think I’m just that, or a certain type of artist when I actually have many sides. I can Out rap anyone, but sometimes I just wanna jus vibe or have fun.”

He added in another tweet, “So I’m a just get back to having fun, cause trying to please everybody ain’t it! If you rock wit me, you rock wit me n if you don’t then… you just don’t have good taste.”

He also revealed comments Nas shared with him after he heard the freestyle. “Nas just txt me saying ‘you murdered these freestyles thanks for pushing us all,’” he tweeted. “That’s crazy AF to me when I really thought about Nas txt’n me that, I’m at the crib right now in Detroit n I’m just feeling grateful I actually am doing what I said I would. Sh*t feel like a dream.”

The rapper also admitted to being offended by some comments from fans that claim he “can’t rap.”

“I do get tired of being judged n take personal offense when someone thinks I can’t rap,” he wrote. “I literally have proven myself over and over and over, but maybe I should just stop caring so much what people think and stop taking things personal and just get back to having fun…” Sean also reflected on his pat “brotherhood” with his GOOD Music team. “I also really miss the brotherhood I use to have with GOOD music, I don’t know what happened,” he tweeted. “Guess those the GOOD ol days. It’s all love, but we use to really be clique’d up.”

You can view more tweets from Big Sean below, including one that teased an upcoming single laced with an SWV sample.
