Saweetie Had The Perfect Response For A Troll Who Doubted Her Piano Skills

These days, it seems being able to clap back at a hater on Twitter is as important a skill for a rapper to have as rapping is — especially for the multitalented women who have come to dominate the game in recent years. While one of those rappers, Saweetie, usually lets the peanut gallery’s comments breeze by her, the icy rapper had the perfect response to one doubtful Twitter troll, showing off a wider range of skills in the process.

After a fan account posted a snippet of her Amazon “Icy Season” special from earlier this week playing the piano before launching into a (holiday) spirited rendition of “Back To The Streets,” a commenter tried to rain on Saweetie’s parade. “I know damn well she wasn’t playing any damn piano,” they wrote. “Ole typewriting faceass.” However, Saweetie clearly had time today, spotting the negative comment and pouncing on the opportunity to not just shut up the troll but also to let followers know that her piano solo wasn’t just a one-off for the cameras.

In the video she posted, it looks like she’s simply noodling to get ready for the performance rather than playing the “Back To The Streets” intro or just rehearsing. She plays a mournful series of chords, proving that she actually has the chops for Chopin — even if she does sound a little bit rusty.

It wasn’t the first time she showed off her skills. Saweetie’s name was set to trending when Snowfall star Damson Idris posted an Instagram Story of his “piano lessons” from the multi-disciplined Bay Area rapper, sparking yet another dating rumor after she was forced to shoot down one involving Roddy Ricch.

You can watch Saweetie’s full performance for the Amazon special “Icy Season” here.

Freddie Gibbs Finally Got Bulls Tickets From Chance The Rapper And Took Home DeMar DeRozan’s Jersey

It looks like Freddie Gibbs finally got those Chicago Bulls tickets he wanted — and he walked away with a player’s jersey as a bonus. And, as it turns out, the person he has to thank for it all is the one who was blocking him from getting the tickets in the first place: Chance The Rapper.

Last week, the Gary, Indiana MC lamented his inability to secure tickets to a home game (Gary is much closer to Chicago than Indianapolis, where the Pacers play, despite Chicago’s location in a different state), tweeting, “Can’t get no f*ckin bulls tickets cuz they give em all to Chance the Rapper.” He pointedly reminded the Bulls account of his longtime fandom and needled the Windy City native, joking that “Chance a bucks fan and y’all give him 30 tickets.”

However, earlier this week, Gibbs did manage to make it out to the Bulls’ home game against the Brooklyn Nets, where he met up with Chance himself after taking in the game from some courtside seats. “Chance took my tickets, but he gave me a couple,” he goofed in a video posted from the lounge, where he hung out with The Rapper. However, Chance had a different story for fans: “I don’t got no tickets, so please don’t let n****s tell you I got your tickets,” he pled. “Keep it straight they didn’t have no tickets for Freddie and they blamed it on me.” Gibbs piled on the pressure, though, referring to Chance sharing the tickets as one of his many acts of charity. “He do good for the community,” he teased. “He gave a n**** two. I appreciate it.”

To commemorate the occasion, Gibbs came away with one hell of a souvenir of the event as well: Bulls guard/forward DeMar DeRozan‘s jersey, which the Comptonite shared with Freddie after the game.

Jamie Miller Admits Bruno Mars Is His ‘God’ While Reacting To The Singer’s Videos

Welsh singer Jamie Miller’s music career took off after he came in at third place on The Voice UK in 2017. Since then, he has gone on to build a massive following, sign a major record deal, and tour the globe. Miller is currently working on music for his highly anticipated debut album but before its release, the singer stopped by Uproxx studios to react to his favorite videos from his musical idol: Bruno Mars.

For the latest segment in Uproxx’s React Like You Know series, Miller sat down to show his love to Mars’ Silk Sonic track “Leave The Door Open,” as well as “When I Was Your Man” and “Versace On The Floor.” Miller admits he’s a little biased when it comes to his opinion on Mars’ music. He even successfully auditioned for The Voice by giving a rendition of Mars’ track, “When I Was Your Man.” “He’s like my god, so I was just thinking that anything that comes out of his mouth — he’s incredible,” Miller said.

Of course, it would be hard to speak about Mars’ music without discussion his new duo with Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic. Miller loved their debut single “Leave The Door Open,” and has the perfect way to describe why .Paak and Mars work so well together. “They’re both so talented in two different ways. I feel like [.Paak] brings the sauce while Bruno brings the flavor,” he said.

Zaytoven Laments Aftermath Of Gucci Mane & Jeezy’s “So Icy”

One of hip-hop history’s most dramatic and intense beefs was in the mid-2000s between Jeezy and Gucci Mane. The two were destined to share the throne as trap icons and pioneers, and a massive case of pettiness and death threw a wrench in it.

Now, around 15 years later, those involved still feel the lasting effects of squabble. Zaytoven, who, as an up-and-comer, produced Jeezy and Gucci Mane’s first collaboration in 2005 “So Icy,” joined Vlad TV to discuss this strained relationship. He explained that as the song sparked disagreements and eventual high stakes drama, it set a negative precedent for his career: “All my life, even in music, I feel like I could be doing something good, and something comes to just dim the light on whatever it is I’m doing. So here it is, we got the biggest song of the year, “So Icy.” Gucci Mane is now blowing up, but this comes along… If you look at any of my songs in my whole career, I always felt like there’s been a dim light on it, no matter what it is. Whether it’s for Usher, or Migos, whoever it is, the big song I got with these guys, there’s something over it. There’s an issue somewhere.”

What Zaytoven is specifically referring to in regards to “So Icy” is Jeezy’s reluctance to perform the song with Gucci Mane, which led to a beef. During this beef, Gucci Mane’s home was raided and, in defense, he shot and killed one of the offenders, which happened to be Jeezy-affiliate Pookie Loc.

Last year, the beef may have been tamed after Gucci Mane and Jeezy put on a legendary, record-shattering Verzuz battle where they finally performed “So Icy” togetherbut several figurative shots were still fired at the event.

Even if the dispute has finally been put to an end, Zaytoven still feels that his rising star at the time felt the impact of Gucci Mane and Jeezy’s fallout for years to come.

Terrence J Escapes Robbery Attempt In Car, Says Robbers Fired Multiple Shots: Report

Just days after Forbes reported that former 106 & Park host, Terrence Jenkins, teamed up with appliance company Maytag for the “Maytag Feel Good Fridge” program to fight food insecurity across the United States, the Academy-Award winning actor and producer was the subject of a terrifying experience.

According to TMZ, Jenkins was pulling into his Sherman Oaks, California driveway around 3 a.m. this morning (November 10) when another car with four men inside pulled up and tried to rob him. One of the four men allegedly ordered Terrence out of his car, but TMZ reports that “he refused the command, and took off in his car.”

Jenkins led the four men on a car chase, and reportedly told police that they fired multiple shots at his vehicle before fleeing.

TMZ also revealed that Jenkins “flagged down a passing California Highway Patrol car,” who relayed the message to the Los Angeles Police Department. The LAPD reportedly “took a report for assault with a deadly weapon with shots fired,” and have launched an investigation into his allegations.

This attempted robbery comes in the midst of an ongoing crime trend called “follow-home robberies.”

According to CBS Los Angeles, the LAPD recently released community alert after a recent series of these robberies, and “listed districts such as Melrose and the Jewelry District as well as nightclubs and high-end restaurants as places where these crimes have occurred.” And according to police, follow-home robberies suspects typically target victims carrying expensive purses or jewelry, such as watches and necklaces, follow them home or business and rob them.”

While no further details have been released regarding the attempted robbery involving Jenkins, all reports coincide with the description of a follow-home robbery.

What do you think of Terrence J’s claims he was almost robbed, and was shot at multiple times? Let us know in the comments.

“Before we get into my next album, i wanted to share another special project i worked on for you guys,” he wrote on social media, along with the cover art for his upcoming project. “This one was really fun to make. Inspired by Bieber, Ariana, and by one of my loneliest holiday seasons ever.. ‘A Different Christmas’ releases everywhere next Friday, Nov. 19th.”

The seasonal project will come just a few short weeks after he celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the release of his debut mixtape, Killer Instinct. On Halloween, he quietly dropped the sequel, titled, Killer Instinct 2: The Nightmare Before as a LiveMixtapes exclusive with a private link of the record floating around the Twittersphere.

Tiller has clearly been putting in work this year. The singer revealed last month that he had numerous projects in the works with one of them being entirely finished. Perhaps, he was talking about A Different Christmas then.

A College Student Who Was Injured At Astroworld Is Showing No Brain Activity

Following the tragedy at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival last weekend, news about deaths and injuries has surfaced. It was reported yesterday that Scott is being sued by the family of a 9-year-old who was trampled during the crowd crush. The boy is currently in a medically induced coma and he’s not the only Astroworld attendee in serious condition: It is now being reported that a 22-year old Texas A&M University student named Bharti Shahani has shown no brain activity since she was injured at Astroworld.

Houston’s ABC 13 reports that Shahani is in critical condition and is currently on a ventilator. Shahani attended the festival with her sister Namrata Shahani and her cousin Mohit Bellani, and Bellani described the scene, “Once one person fell, people started toppling like dominos. It was like a sinkhole. People were falling on top of each other. There were like layers of bodies on the ground, like two people thick. We were fighting to come up to the top and breathe to stay alive.”

As for Shahani’s prognosis, unfortunately, things aren’t looking good. Shahani’s father Sunny says, “The doctors, they say the chances of survival are nothing, which I have not even spoken to my wife until now. We keep saying we’ll pray. I request all of Houston to pray for her. Maybe the prayers might work as a miracle for her.”

The family has set up a GoFundMe campaign, which so far has raised about $45,000 of its $50,000 goal.

Larry Hoover Jr. Calls On Drake And Ye To End Their Feud To Push For His Father’s Release

In a recent interview with TMZ, Larry Hoover Jr., son of Gangsta Disciples gang founder Larry Hoover, called on Drake and Ye to finally end their longstanding feud and come together in the efforts to free his father, who has since become an advocate for community organizing and prison reform.

Hoover Jr., who appeared on Ye’s latest album, Donda, called Drake a “leader” and said, “leaders make decisions that people follow. This would be big. This is like Michael Jackson and Prince, the one we never seen. It’s gon’ be a ripple effect. We need togetherness and peace in this hip-hop community. We need togetherness and peace in our communities all throughout the United States. Be the leader and show, lead by example.”

The sentiment was echoed in a recent statement given by Ye himself, apparently at the behest of Drake’s mentor J Prince, requesting the Canadian rapper to join him onstage to play their 2021 albums at a benefit concert for the effort to secure Hoover’s release.

Hoover Jr. spoke on the idea in his interview, saying, “The concert thing, you know, we still working on that. [J. Prince] is dealing with Drake and speaking with him directly so he would have to pass the information on for that, as far as him coming all the way in. But hopefully, in a few days, it’s looking good and it’s looking like he should be moving forward to maybe take part in this whole thing.”

The elder Hoover is serving a life sentence (actually, six of them, which is really just stupid and a prime example of why prison reform is so needed) for a list of charges including conspiracy, extortion, money laundering, and murder for his connection to Chicago’s Gangsta Disciples gang.
