BlocBoy JB Returns With New Single “M.E.M 2 Jacksonville” Featuring SpotemGottem

Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB declared a few weeks ago that he intends on having the biggest comeback of the next year and he’s getting started early by releasing his new single and music video for “M.E.M 2 Jacksonville,” which sees him connect with Jacksonville’s SpotemGottem.

The track, co-produced by Tay Keith and Lil Ju Made Da Beat, is the first connection between BlocBoy JB and SpotemGottem. They trade bars in their verses, showcasing strong chemistry as they complement one another’s styles. In the video, the two rappers ride around in exotic cars, hanging out with their entourages on a beautiful, sunny day.

Quotable Lyrics:

Goran Dragic pocket rocket, bitch I get the heat on me
I just caught my opp, that new body gotta sleep on it
I creeped on it
Walk down gang, we killed the big homie
5 shots left in this Glock but it got a stick on it

Nike Air Max 95 Receives Spring-Ready Pastels: Photos

One of the best shoes of the mid-90s was the Nike Air Max 95. With dad shoes making a huge comeback, the Nike Air Max 95 has proven to be a solid cop for fans, and with Nike looking to be more inclusive, they have created some new colorways for the female sneakerheads out there. These colorways are arguably better than some of the men’s offerings, and the latest Nike Air Max 95 to be revealed is perhaps an example of that.

In the official images below, you can find a shoe that is covered in some soft pastel tones that make up the rings that go around the silhouette. The colors here are yellow, green, blue, and pink which makes these perfect for the spring, albeit, no one is really thinking about the sunshine right now, especially with Christmas around the corner. Either way, these are some fun shoes and they will be a solid cop for when things get brighter outside.

A release date has not been revealed for these, however, you can expect them to drop sometime this year for a price of $170 USD. Let us know what you think of the pair and stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates from the sneaker world.

Rico Nasty And Flo Milli’s Upbeat New Single ‘Money’ Channels Big Jock Jam Energy

Rico Nasty has been buzzing lately as fans defend her from the negative reception she’s received as an opener on Playboi Carti’s ongoing Narcissist Tour, but today, she’s once again recentering attention on where it should be: Her new music. Teaming up with fellow flourishing female rapper Flo Milli and boisterous producer Boyz Noise, Rico returns to the spotlight with the upbeat “Money,” a hyperactive call-and-response anthem with big jock jam energy.

In the colorful video, which you can watch below, Rico and Flo rock matching money green ensembles as they pull in pop culture references from over-the-top infomercials and re-colored classic films — yep, that’s Milli taking a stroll down the Yellow Brick Road of Wizard Of Oz fame — while declaring they would rather have money than love because love doesn’t pay the bills. The video was directed by frequent Rico collaborator Roxana Baldovin, who also helmed the video for another girl-power anthem, “Tia Tamera” with Doja Cat.

And while some members of Playboi Carti’s fanbase feel differently, Rico’s certainly got plenty of backers in her corner, including Memphis rapper NLE Choppa, who included her in his list of female rappers who “got next,” NPR, who put Rico on the beloved Tiny Desk Concert series last month, and Red Bull, which is bringing back its SoundClash series with Rico, Danny Brown, and more later this month.

Two Of The Three Men Convicted Of Assassinating Malcolm X Will Be Exonerated

Malcolm X was assassinated on February 21, 1965, and over half a century later, a new investigation has revealed that two of the men who were convicted of killing the Civil Rights leader have been innocent all along.

According to the New York Times, Muhammad A. Aziz and the late Khalil Islam will be exonerated of all charges and convictions related to the assassination of Malcolm X following a reported 22-month investigation found that the FBI and NYP withheld crucial evidence that would have led to their acquittal in the 1966 trial. This development comes after each of the men spent more than 20 years in prison, years in solitary confinement, and front row seats to the infamous Attica Prison riot.

Aziz, a father of six at the time of his conviction, and Islam, who was a father of three, were both released from prison on parole in 1985 and 1987, respectively, but Islam passed away in 2009 at the age of 74, approximately 12 years before his name would finally be cleared. Once outside of prison, both men still faced difficulties keeping their families together and living openly as they were previously known throughout the world as the people who allegedly killed Malcolm X.

“It’s long overdue,” Bryan Stevenson, a civil rights lawyer and the founder of the Equal Justice initiative, says of the Aziz and Islam’s exonerations. “This is one of the most prominent figures of the 20th century who commanded enormous attention and respect. And yet, our system failed”

Of the three men who were initially found guilty of killing Malcolm X, Mujahid Abdul Halim’s conviction still stands, as he confessed at trial to being involved in the Civil Rights leader‘s assassination. However, Halim, now 80 years old and living in Brooklyn, has always claimed that his co-defendants were innocent. Upon hearing the news that Aziz and Islam are set to be exonerated, Halim told the NYT, “God bless you, they’re exonerated.”

Baker Mayfield Speaks Out On Browns’ Offensive Issues

Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns have been wildly inconsistent over the past few seasons. After a disappointing sophomore season, Mayfield came right back in 2020 and proved to people that he is a solid quarterback who can even win in the playoffs. This season, however, the Browns have been mediocre with a record of 5-5. During some outings, the offense has been completely anemic, and Mayfield has been blamed for some pretty lackluster play.

In a recent report from Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal, Mayfield commented on the team’s play and how he feels moving forward. Essentially, Mayfield believes the team has the proper schemes in place, it’s just a matter of actually making plays and executing the playbook properly. Needless to say, Mayfield understands he deserves a share of the blame.

“We don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Yeah, changes need to be made, but … there’s plays to be made that we haven’t [made],” Mayfield said. “That’s where we’re at right now. It’s not where we have to sit down and do everything completely different. We need to be able to execute and put the ball in our playmakers’ hands and let them go to work.”

This weekend, the Browns take on the Detroit Lions who have yet to win a game in nine attempts. Having said that, the Browns should be in a position to get back on track. If they lose, however, it’s going to be an embarrassing L on their record.

Claressa Shields Rips Jake Paul For Being “Pathetic”

Claressa Shields is one of the greatest female boxers ever, although these days she is more focused on an MMA career. Recently, she suffered her very first loss and while she is ready to bounce back from it, she has been receiving a ton of outside noise from the likes of Jake Paul. The two have been engaged in a feud as of late and when Shields lost just last month, Paul jumped on the opportunity to slander her.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Shields spoke about Paul’s words and how she doesn’t respect the man enough to really take it seriously. Shields even went so far as to say that Paul is a horrible boxer and that his attempts to undermine her have gotten to be quite pathetic.

“You don’t even have enough accomplishment to even say my name,” Shields said, “To even speak of me. You’ve never been to the Olympics. What did you make the Olympics on YouTube? That shit don’t exist. That’s fake. When it comes to the real world of boxing, Jake Paul will never be no world champion. He can just keep picking his opponents. Him coming at me, it made him feel better about himself. You still suck at boxing. You still don’t have no accomplishments. You still wouldn’t dare get in the same ring with me, let alone spar. And, he’s just not even worth wasting my breath. The dude is pathetic.”

It should come as no surprise that Shields would feel this way, especially when you consider just how recklessly Jake was talking. The youngest Paul brother is winning no favors in the boxing industry, and he can add Shields to his long list of enemies.

Jackboy Drops Off New Single “Don’t Force My Hand”

During Jackboy’s appearance on HNHH’s On The Come Up series, the Florida rapper revealed that he already had a follow up project to August’s Jackboy 2 finished and ready to go. He debated on revealing the name of the project, but eventually gave us some insight about his next release.

“Imma have a new project I want to drop in 2022, but I don’t know if I should throw the name out there…But Imma drop a new project in 2021. I want to call it It’s Okay To Not Be Okay … That one’s already kind of done,” he told HNHH

While there hasn’t been much of an update on the status of It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, Jackboy gave a couple of feature verses to Pressa and Money Man, and lent his talents to AxL for his debut single “Motorbike,” but there hasn’t been much solo music since August.

That is, until today.

Coming back with a new single, “Don’t Force My Hand,” Jackboy gets serious and begs those around him not to force his hand, and make him do something he doesn’t want to do. It’s unclear whether the single is a part of the It’s Okay To Not Be Okay rollout, but new Jackboy is better than no Jackboy.

Conor McGregor Claims He Knew Leg Was In Trouble Prior To Last Fight

During his last fight against Dustin Poirier, Conor McGregor hurt his ankle in a brutal fashion as it essentially snapped in half while he was stepping backwards. One could argue that McGregor was going to lose the fight anyway, however, the injury was certainly a sad one to see as McGregor remains one of the best personalities in the sport.

Since that time, McGregor has been rehabbing his leg and he has also been interacting with his fans on Twitter, to pass the time. Recently, Conor had a bit of a Q&A session where he was asked about his leg and what he felt about it going into his previous bout. As McGregor admits, he knew the leg was damaged and was prepared for that sort of injury to manifest itself.

“In my last camp I’d a severely damaged left leg. Many of my sessions consisted of starting in open guard bottom. And staying there. Full rounds remaining on bottom. I was beating people up until they backed away from me. It then translated to the fight,” McGregor said. “Same leg, same spot. I attribute it to why I wasn’t in as much shock as Chris/Anderson where. I knew something may happen in advance. Chris was upset with my quote. Felt I was aiming at him. I was not. If any constellation to my reaction, It was because id a heads up it may snap.”

Given this new information, it certainly puts into perspective what McGregor was feeling heading into the fight. Combat sports are extremely dangerous, and it’s important to be aware of the risks going into each and every fight.

As for McGregor’s eventual return, a date has yet to be determined.

Oakland’s Elujay Doesn’t Believe In Artistic Boundaries

Elujay isn’t satisfied with one lane. He wants to rule the whole road. With a handful of tracks running up the streaming charts, the young Oakland-based musician is now setting his sights on a variety of different artistic mediums — including video direction, graphic design, and more. “As a good artist, you have to be able to imitate and do different things,” he explained in a recent conversation over Zoom. “I think the initial intention is always just pure love. It’s just, I love this. I want to try this.”

A graphic designer by trade, Elujay began releasing music in 2016 and has been consistently dropping new tunes for the better part of five years, each building upon the catalog that he describes as “honest, soulful, groovy and Afrocentric.” The songs are difficult to pin down within a certain genre classification, existing in the space between rock, funk, R&B, indie, hip-hop… and almost everything else. Inspired by artists that mastered the feat of true artistic versatility and attention to detail, Elujay has been preparing for years to channel the creative spark across everything he’s done, and everything he wants to try next.

He pauses to think about it when I ask what sounds he hasn’t been able to crack yet, but still has interest in exploring. Then his eyes light up and he extends out his arms to signal the full spectrum of everywhere he still wants to go. “I want to dive a little bit more into the electronic space. Some Joni Mitchell-style stuff would be kind of sick, or just more experimental stuff. Dive a little bit more into like the Bjork — Arca bag. Maybe some Brazilian-style stuff, some by funk. I think that’d be fire.” Elujay’s base instinct is artistic curiosity, and he wants to take this opportunity to be strategic and try… everything.

In order to streamline the creative process, he notes the importance of keeping your priorities straight. “The first step is just being honest with yourself and realizing that it’s going to not happen overnight and that it’s only about the work. If you’re Black, you’re going to have to work twice as hard, because this industry is not handing anybody anything. I’ve been cognizant of how difficult it has been for people to actually care about [my art].” It’s also important to establish a good work/life balance to stave off burnout. “Make sure you give yourself time, read books, drink water. Don’t be like me. I don’t sleep. Get some sleep.”

But before he jumps into any new creative endeavor, Elujay is sure to put in the work to understand and build upon the foundation created by his inspirations. He likens the intention of his artistic process to that of Porsche: “I put that same amount of love and care in detail into a song or a visual. They both provide an aesthetically pleasing service, in a way.” He adds that being part of the Porsche Next 9 series “means the world to me, man. That’s crazy. Porsche represents that staple in time, where someone really feels like they’ve made it.”

Despite his love for the Porsche brand, Elujay’s definition of success doesn’t come in the form of a sports car, or international fame. Instead, it’s something much simpler: “I don’t have a desire to be a megastar,” he says with a mischievous grin. “What I really want is to sell-out shows. I think that’s when I feel like, ‘okay, I’ve made it.’”
