Beyonce’s New TikTok Already Has Thousands Of Followers, Even With Zero Content

The Carter family has been causing quite the kerfuffle on social media of late, owing in large part to their usual reluctance to log on unless they have new projects to promote. Earlier this year, Jay-Z revived his long-dormant Instagram account, only to delete it again after it had served its apparent purpose: drawing attention to the Netflix Western he’d produced, The Harder They Fall. Now, it’s Beyonce’s turn. Tapping into the growing popularity of TikTok, Beyonce started an account, accumulating thousands of followers within an hour of the Tidal Twitter account’s announcement.

As of press time, Beyonce’s verified account has over 191,000 followers despite having no videos, no bio, and no profile picture. Such is the power of the Beyhive, who remain dedicated to following all of the singer’s moves, no matter how cryptic, perhaps in the hopes of being among the first to catch wind of another surprise album drop, a la 2014’s Beyonce.

Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time the Carter clan brought waves of new users to a simmering social platform. In 2020, Beyonce’s mention of OnlyFans on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” remix (apparently penned by Jay) caused a massive jump in the site’s visibility and subscribership despite its reputation for being a bastion of spicy content. Beyonce’s latest move will likely have a similar enervating effect on TikTok’s mainstream appeal, which means that those funky dances are probably here to stay.

Roddy Ricch Is A High-Powered Businessman In His Luxurious ’25 Million’ Video

Roddy Ricch has come a long way since roaming the streets of Compton looking to get into trouble. In the video for “25 Million,” the latest single from his new album, Live Life Fast, he illustrates this literally, albeit with his tongue firmly in cheek. The video represents Roddy as a high-powered businessman at what looks to be a successful finance or legal firm. However, as he struts through the office in his three-piece suit, it becomes clear that he’s put his own irreverent twist on workplace culture, with strippers twerking on the copy machines and conference room tables.

Later in the video, he leaves the office and boards a yacht, where he gets his hair cut by a woman in a bikini before hosting a lavish boat party — one where he appears to be the only man in attendance. This is Roddy’s version of the good life, and it looks like he’s living it to the fullest.

Live Last Fast album, which includes appearances from 21 Savage, Alex Isley, Bibi Bourelly, Fivio Foreign, Future, Gunna, Jamie Foxx, Kodak Black, Lil Baby, Takeoff, and Ty Dolla Sign, is out now via Atlantic Records. You can get it here and watch the “25 Million” video above.

Chargers Tight End Donald Parham Jr. Suffers Scary Head Injury: Details

Last night was a scary one in the NFL as Los Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham Jr. went down with one of the scariest head injuries we have seen in quite some time. During the Chargers’ first drive of the game, Parham had a touchdown catch in his hands, however, as he went to the ground, his head hit the turf and snapped back up immediately. The impact forced him to drop the ball, and it appears as though he was knocked unconscious.

From there, Parham was taken off of the field, however, his arms and hands continued to tremble. It had many wondering whether or not Parham was having a seizure, and more importantly, if he was going to be okay from this.

Parham Jr. was immediately taken to the hospital, and according to the Chargers, he is currently in stable condition. As of last night, he was being evaluated for a head issue over at the UCLA Harbor Medical Center. Since last night’s update on Twitter, there have been no more details released to the media or the public.

This was truly a horrific injury to watch live, and we hope Parham Jr makes a speedy recovery. Stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest details from around the NFL world.

Ari Fletcher Fans Beg Her To Drop Rap Song After Video Of Her Popping Off Surfaces

It’s officially new music Friday, and while Ari Fletcher may not have an official release for us, a video showing off her rap skills has gotten Twitter’s attention. In a clip that was originally uploaded to TikTok, the 26-year-old can be seen spitting game in the back seat, clearly feeling herself as her cameraman hypes her up.

“@AriTheDon umm excuse me,” the person who tweeted the clip wrote alongside it. “Ma’am. Yes. Put this on Apple Music. Out here playing with folks. DAMN.” The post has received thousands of likes and replies – including one from Ari herself. “Lmfao why did I make a rap,” she quote tweeted with a row of crying-laughing emojis. “This was fun tho. A whole fool!”

Some viewers jokingly suggested that the reason Ari and her ex, rapper G Herbo, split was because she outshone him with her rap skills, while others focused their energy towards urging the social media star to get the track up on streaming platforms ASAP. “If rapping is your next evolution, you will be successful at it,” one user wrote.

“And they said you don’t have talent, jokes on them,” another person tweeted. It remains unclear if Ari actually has plans to release the braggadocious beat, but if she does, it’ll certainly be in constant rotation with her dedicated fans.

The video was also uploaded to The Shade Room, where fans continued to rave over the snippet of the influencer’s single. “Sounds better than a lot of some raps out now,” one comment reads.

What do you think of Ari Fletcher’s attempt at rapping? Leave a comment and let us know.

NLE Choppa Talks “Me Vs. Me”, Wanting That Drake Collab, & Celebrating Young Dolph

Scheduling a time to catch up with NLE Choppa wasn’t an easy feat. It wasn’t for the lack of effort— Choppa just happens to be in the top tier of rising artists and he is understandably busy with making music, giving back to his community, and educating the masses on his lessons of wellness. Earlier this week, the Memphis native returned to his hometown for the Black Men Crowned Awards, a ceremony that highlights the business and charitable efforts of local Black men in the city. With a smile across his face, Choppa presented a high school senior with the Young King Award scholarship of $5,000.

This is the legacy that the 19-year-old, real name Bryson Potts, has been mapping out beyond music. It is difficult to simply speak about the “Shotta Flow” hitmaker within the boundaries of his music career because, with equal fervor, Choppa takes to social media with the hopes of enlightening a generation. He has playfully been referred to as “NLE Chakra” by Jack Harlow but Choppa takes his journey quite seriously. From stating that he helped cure someone of cancer to praising Kyrie Irving’s anti-vaccination stance to becoming an herbalist who pushes his remedies, this is a young rapper that is focused on spreading his message.

Still, Choppa is an artist who has been a voice for his generation in the streets of Memphis. You can find him tweeting about mediation one moment and them flashing cash while dropping bars the next. Last year, Choppa released his debut studio album Top Shotta as well as his From Dark to Light mixtape, and as he readies a new project, he promises to deliver a collection of tracks that focuses on “the growth that I’ve shown musically,” he says.

For this edition of our 12 Days of Christmas countdown, Choppa squeezed in some time in his busy schedule and spoke with us briefly about Me vs. Me, his upcoming album that was pushed to January 14 from its original December 17 release date, casting vision for 2022, working with Moneybagg Yo and Young Thug, and the shifts he’s experienced since going sober.

This interview has been slightly edited for clarity.

HNHH: Thank you so much for speaking with us today. I know you’re busy, so let’s get right into it. Your sophomore studio album, Me vs. Me, is on the horizon. What can fans expect from Choppa this time around?

NLE Choppa:Me vs. Me is, pretty much, a project concept I’ve been wanting to get out for a long time. I chose a few old songs and I chose a lot more newer songs so that people can see the growth that I’ve shown musically. At the same time, I’m still speaking on the same topics of what my core fans like to hear from me.

What’s the growth from last year’sFrom Dark to Light to Me vs. Me?

It’s really two different types of tapes. This tape is for my core fans, so I’m not really speaking on anything that is enlightening on this tape. My mindset has definitely changed because I’m a sober mind now. I don’t do any drugs. So, I’m probably talking about the same things as my old self would talk about, but it’s more advanced.

Will you have any features or will you be flying solo on this one?

I have a few features. I’ve got a Moneybagg Yo feature, a Young Thug feature, and the rest I feel like it will just be revealed when it drops.

What was it like being in the studio with the likes of Moneybagg and Thugger?

It’s huge, especially the Moneybagg one because it’s something that I feel like I was doing for my city of Memphis because we’re both from the same city.

Going back to you having a sober mind and approaching your career differently, what has that looked like in 2020, 2021, and leading up to 2022? Because we’re still in this pandemic but throughout that time, you’ve continued to make music while teaching wellness, herbal remedies, etc. How is that personal evolution going to impact your 2022?

I feel like it’s just going to bring in more blessings. I feel like I’m living for God and not for myself. I just feel like I’m very prepared for what the future holds for me because I’m only getting better and better and evolving more and more.

Have you experienced any obstacles since being so vocal about being sober as a rapper? Have there been any pushbacks from Hip Hop fans or even from your peers?

Not really. I just know what life is now. If it’s a setback, it was meant to be a setback. I just know everything has a meaning and a purpose for it. Once you analyze what it is, why this is happening right now, who’s around me that’s blocking my blessings from me….once you analyze situations like that, it creates a stronger and more balanced type of life for you.

I know that you worked with 50 Cent on “Part of the Game” [ft. Rileyy Lanez]. He’s known for mentoring and pouring into younger artists. Was there any kind of advice that you received from him about navigating the longevity of your career?

He just had a talk with me as far as just staying out of trouble. As long as I’m staying out of trouble, I’m going to be good because I’ve already got my head on my shoulders. As long as I’m just staying out of harm’s way of the law, I’m good.

In casting visions for next year or even the year after, what can your fans and the industry, in general, expect from NLE Choppa musically?

Be one of the biggest artists to date, for sure. Just off the simple fact of the work that I’m putting in behind the scenes and how much stuff I’m doing. I want to be one of those ones. When you bring up the top rappers, I’m going to be in that category. I’m going to be in that conversation.

Are there artists that you have yet to collaborate with or work with that you’re looking forward to getting in some studio time?

I want to work with Drake and I know it’s coming. It’s coming.

“I want to work with Drake and I know it’s coming. It’s coming.”

What kind of energy would you like to bring to that collaboration? Drake has so many different ways that he approaches music.

I can rap on anything, so I guess whatever just comes about when the time comes.

Being a Memphis native and everything that’s happened recently with Dolph, what advice would you give to your peers that aren’t in the industry but from your own hometown that are grieving that loss and experiencing that heaviness?

The best thing to take away from that is, first and foremost, his family is forever paid. His kids are forever taken care of. Just celebrate his life. That’s something that a lot of people haven’t done ever or will ever do. So, I’m just celebrating his life. That’ll help get over a grieving state. Death is supposed to be celebrated.

That’s a more optimistic and positive outlook. Thanks so much for your time.

No problem at all. Thank you.

24kGoldn Interpolates Biz Markie’s “Just A Friend” On New Single “More Than Friends”

24kGoldn has proven himself to be a reliable pop-rap hitmaker, delivering strong singles over the years, including the chart-topping “Mood” with iann dior, among others. For the last few weeks, the 21-year-old San Francisco native has been teasing his new record, which is an interpolation of Biz Markie’s “Just A Friend.”

Using the same famous melody from the classic record and switching it up slightly to fit his own situation, 24k croons about a woman he’s trying to lock down, telling her that he’s been with so many of the baddest models but all he wants is some personal time with her.

This caps off an incredible year for 24kGoldn, who released his debut studio album, El Dorado, at the top of 2021.

Listen to “More Than Friends” below and let us know what you think of the new single.

Quotable Lyrics:

Look, I’ve had Kylies, Riley’s and Holly too
Only girl I ain’t had yet was Y-O-U
If I put a ring on it, would you say “I do”?
Like the Alicia to my Usher, would you be my boo?

Big Sean Says Kanye West & Jay-Z Once Pressured Him To Fire His Friend Over A Picture

Big Sean’s Drink Champs interview is almost here, and while fans look forward to his full response to Kanye West’s flippant comments about the former G.O.O.D. Music signee as well as stories about Jhené Aiko and Dave Chappelle, a new clip reveals that Big Sean has even more wild personal accounts up his sleeve.

According to HipHopDX, the latest clip from his forthcoming interview with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN features the What You Expect artist detailing how a My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy studio session with Ye, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé took a turn for the worst. As many of you may recall, Ye enlisted Big Sean, Bey, and Charlie Wilson for the often-overlooked MBDTF bonus track “See Me Now.”

However, Sean came close to losing the trust of Ye and Hov because following one of those sessions a behind-the-scenes photo leaked on Twitter.

“We down there working on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in Hawaii,” Big Sean recalled. “I’m out there playing my role, but I brought my mans with me in case I needed anything, he was going to help hold me down … It’s good to have a support system, to have one of your homie’s there when you trying to contribute.”

“So anyway, I’m in a studio — it was me, Ye and Hov. Even then, I wasn’t trying to be thirsty or sneak a fucking picture,” Sean continued. “I’m here just taking it in mentally. He ends up taking a picture of all of us in the studio. Didn’t tell me. He ends up tweeting it and it gets picked up on AllHipHop and things like that.”

After catching wind of the leak, Kanye West and Jay-Z confronted an up-and-coming Big Sean about the situation.

“I don’t know who saw it, but it got to either Ye or Hov’s attention and they thought it was me!” Big Sean revealed. “It didn’t make any sense because I wasn’t even really on at that time and it was like, ‘Kanye, JAY-Z, Beyoncé, Big Sean.’ People were like, ‘Who the fuck is Big Sean?!’ It looked like I planted this shit.”

“I explained to [Kanye] who it was and he was like, ‘You gotta fucking fire him. We’ve all done this, we’ve hired the people that we love. But people were mad at you thinking that you were being thirsty. And it was your mans,'” Sean explained. “So I told [my friend], ‘I’m in a position where it’s Ye and Hov saying you gotta go. I’m sorry bro, we gotta figure out something else.'”

According to Big Sean, no love was lost between him and his friend. “But it ended up being a blessing in disguise,” the Grammy-nominated artist said. “He ended up transforming his life and being probably way more successful than he would’ve been in the position he was in. He ended up being a teacher and ended up impacting a lot of people’s lives and doing amazing, wonderful things.”

Thankfully for her millions of fans, Detroit rapper DeJ Loaf has decided not to hang up her microphone. This week, the 30-year-old recording artist hinted that she might be considering retirement from her music career, telling a fan that she will probably never release music again. That appears to have been a reactive reply from the rapper, who is now clarifying that she is not retired following a supportive tweet from fellow Detroit rapper Sada Baby.

“@DeJLoaf please don’t ever retire,” tweeted Sada Baby on Thursday (December 16). “You the one before anybody else was the one from our side n I mean that. Love you and appreciate the soul and inspiration you gave me from just bein yoself.”
