Kanye West’s “Carnival” Producer Goes Scorched Earth On Social Media For Being Left Off The Credits

Digital Nas went on a fiery rant about working with Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign on the hit song, “Carnival,” on social media. In doing so, he shared an email from A&R Matt Geffen, who allegedly wrote that producers Traxster, 88-Keys, and Morning Estrada “were not able to verify” his involvement in making the track. In response, Nas labeled the group “vultures” and advised followers to shy away from a career in music.

“I’ma give you context to how these vulture-ass n****s work. Fritz [Owens, engineer] text me, ‘Ye and Carti need you.’ I go there. ‘Nas, what do we need done to ‘Carnival’?’ I tell them n****s everything that needs to be done, told Ye to change his verse. ‘Carnival’ gets nominated for a f*cking Grammy, it goes number one. They’re doing the paperwork, this f*cking guy Matt Geffen comes out of nowhere, tries to regulate sh*t.”

Kanye West Announced His Next Solo Album ‘Bully’ Before Debuting Its Featured Track ‘Beauty And The Beast’

Has Ye (more commonly known as Kanye West) abandoned the rumored Vultures 3 project with Ty Dolla Sign? Well, that the question fans of the musical duo are asking themselves today (September 28).

During the “Talking/Once Again” rapper’s latest concert in Haikou, China, he announced his next solo studio album. In front of the packed Wuyuan River Stadium crowd, Kanye West confirmed that his next back of work, Bully, will be released soon.

“I got a new album coming out,” he said. “The album’s called ‘Bully,’ and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.’”

In the video captured by concertgoers. (viewable here), Kanye West then graciously debuted the track. “I still think about it every night and day to try to stay away, to keep my audience / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to redirect,” sings West.

Fans immediately began to look for clues regarding the forthcoming project. The first sprinkle of information came from Mike Dean, a longtime collaborator of Kanye West. Over on Instagram (viewable here), the producer seemed to confirm support theories that West would be reworking vaulted songs, by writing: “Donda leftover.”

Ordinarily the comment could come off as passive-aggressive (especially considering their history), but keeping in mind the supposed mountain of legal blowback from his Vultures album pulling from his own work might be best. However, the 2021 album also faced copyright infringement lawsuits.

No updates were provided regarding the future of Vultures 3.

You could make a very good argument that Kanye West (unfortunately) is starting to lose that creative magic he once possessed for so long. Overall, you’re not going to find many hip-hop fans who feel that rapper, singer, and producer had a mediocre record from 2004-2021. However, the conversation surrounding his VULTURES era is vastly different. Yes, there are going to be some way too loyal Ye stans who swear that his last two projects have been good. But in general, both entries into this unfinished trilogy are a far cry from his previous efforts. Many have been fed up with how messy and lifeless the tracks are on them, and diligent Redditors claim to have one major reason as to why.

After receiving VULTURES 2, some listeners felt there was some use of AI, particularly on “SKY CITY” with CyHi’s verse. Users on the forum are claiming that there’s hardly any doubt that these suspicions are true. However, they feel Kanye didn’t stop there. Other tracks include “FIELD TRIP”, citing “rough punch-in vocals of him doing lines Ty Dolla $ign did on the full CDQ leak” as the source. Furthermore, “FOREVER”, which was recently updated with a new Ye verse, sounds off in the cadence and flow department. For this one, they claim to have the exact AI model that was utilized.

Finally, Redditors also feel that they have evidence for a recent unreleased Skepta and Kanye collab. As it stands, contributors are pretty positive that “SKY CITY”, “FOREVER”, and the Skepta track are “almost certainly” containing AI. Then, “FIELD TRIP” and the highly sought after Childish Gambino cut, “Say Less”, are “speculated to be containing AI vocals. Overall, commenters are pretty disappointed as they think that his best days are gone and are missing “the old Kanye”.

Kanye West Disses Adidas During “Vultures” Listening Event In China

Kanye West held up a middle finger as his fans chanted “F**k Adidas” during his Vultures listening event in China over the weekend. After doing so, he joked, “I hope that was okay,” before launching into a performance of his iconic track, “All Falls Down” from 2004’s The College Dropout. He was referencing the government’s strict laws about obscenity.

It’s far from the first time he’s publically criticized the company. He previously led a crowd in South Korea on a “f*ck Adidas” chant while performing another Vultures event in August. Adidas cut ties with West back in October 2022 after he went on an infamous antisemitic tirade on social media. Earlier this year, he made headlines for going off on the company on Instagram. “F*ck adidas and everybody who works there or with them. Anyone who goes to school with anyone who’s parents work at adidas. Just know they tried to destroy me and here we are with the number 1 song in the world,” he wrote back in March. He also claimed they’re suing him for over $200 million.

Kanye West Performs With Ty Dolla Sign At Rolling Loud

The Adidas diss isn’t the only reason West has made headlines for the performance in China. He’s also been getting attention for bringing all four of his kids, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, on stage to perform “Everybody.” West’s wife, Bianca Censori, filmed the wholesome moment from the VIP section. The kids have joined them on several international stops in recent months.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign Heading To China For Next “VULTURES Listening Experience”

The VULTURES tandem is going to be traveling back to Asia for another one-off show. According to HipHopDX and NFR Podcast, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign are going to be providing Haikou, China with a VULTURES Listening Experience. The former of the duo was the one to announce this news, however, the post is not on his Instagram anymore. Hopefully, that means that it wasn’t already canceled. But until September 15 comes around, we are going to assume that it’s still on their schedule. Obviously, these one-night performances have seen their fair share of alterations. The most of recent of which was Taiwan and that was supposed to take place on August 25.

Without any explanation, it was axed. Additionally, several others in the U.S. were taken off the calendar in late March. Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, North Carolina and Florida were all taken off ticket buying sites. Additionally, some of the venues made sure to announce the cancelations on their social media accounts. Even though there have been tons of setbacks, Kanye and Ty have been performing more times than not this month.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign Are Returning To Asia

On top of their Utah outing, South Korea received one of the biggest set lists we have ever seen. Ye shared the 54 songs he played on his IG, and it was essentially a 20-year career medley. He also made headlines from the East Asia venue for shockingly dedicating a song to Drake mid-performance. Furthermore, he shared some strange, dystopian-like images with the caption, “Where to next”. Well, we know now its Haikou, China and it will be interesting to see what stops the duo pulls out in a few weeks.

Kid Cudi Astonished That Kanye West Released Their Collab On “VULTURES 2” Deluxe

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES 2 was not a crowd pleaser, for the most part. However, some were pretty happy when they put out several deluxe versions of the project. Out of the five bonus cuts, four of them were either from VULTURES 2 or VULTURES 1 recording sessions. “CAN U BE”, the final deluxe offering with Travis Scott, was a part of The Life Of Pablo era. Outside of that one, “GUN TO MY HEAD” was perhaps the most sought-after track. It mostly has to do with the fact that Kid Cudi and Kanye West are on a song after another stretch of beefing.

In fact, The Cudster acknowledged their complicated relationship during a recent Q&A he held on X according to AllHipHop. A fan was happy to see Kid Cudi and Kanye West back to being brothers once again and the former responded with a secret to how they reconciled. “Family always has problems sometimes, its the love that gets us through. 🙏🏾”. Additionally, though, more responses to tweets about Kanye would continue moments after this one.

Kid Cudi Demands That He Speak To Kanye West Immediately

It got started because one fan is a big supporter of “GUN TO MY HEAD”. That led Cudi to respond and quite comically we may add. “Its tasty. Hope Ye drops that one day”. That conversation then led another replier to let the cat out of the bag. “Bro it’s literally dropped”. The Cleveland, Ohio native was absolutely floored learning about this, saying, “Where??? I wanna hear. I forgot what it sounds like 🤣 I only heard it once since I recorded it when he played it that one time at the listening event”. His followers would go on to let him know it was a website exclusive that sold out and that’s it’s also floating around on YouTube. Cudi’s hilarious responses would basically end of with him making sure that he speaks with Ye. “What da hell is he doin??? Haha ima talk to him.”

Kanye West Dedicates A Track To Drake At “VULTURES” Listening Event And Fans Are Very Confused

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s recent VULTURES listening party in Korea on Thursday night (August 22) was more bizarre than most, and that’s saying something. Moreover, the reason why people raised their eyebrows at this particular event has to do with the former artist’s mention of one of his former friends turned current rivals. “This one’s for Drake, this one’s for Ian Connor,” Ye told the crowd when “I Wonder” started to play. Considering the track’s lyrical content and the questionable backgrounds of these figures, some fans took this as a diss about them being unable to find their dreams or a legitimate shoutout.

Either way, fans expressed confusion over this on social media, and aren’t really stepping in to defend neither Drake nor Ian Connor. Well, for Drizzy, a lot of fans think that Kanye West is just using his name for clout or once again walking back his previously negative stance on him. This year, that stance manifested into a “Like That” remix amid the Toronto rapper’s many beefs and plenty of disparaging comments down the line. Perhaps the sheer defeat he faced at the hands of Kendrick Lamar made Ye more sympathetic to his plight.

Kanye West Dedicates “I Wonder” To Drake & Ian Connor

Jokes aside, some recent new footage of both Kanye West and Drake paints this picture in a more complicated fashion. Ye spoke to Candace Owens in a resurfaced 2022 interview about the 6ix God. “Drake is the best rapper ever by the numbers. Jay-Z is the greatest rapper ever by the inspiration,” he remarked. It’s funny that all these three artists collaborated on a song five years after Aubrey pretty much provoked Ye and Hov’s Watch The Throne album in a competitive fashion.

Meanwhile, as part of his 100 GIGS footage release, Drake showed off the process behind creating the hook for Kanye West’s “Yikes.” As such, it’s a bizarre time to view the relationship between these two titans of the music industry. Fans have as much access to their collaborative highs as they do to their pettily personal lows. We’ll see whether Ye explains this dedication, and whether they will ever reconcile.

Kanye West Allegedly Plays Diddy & R. Kelly Tracks Back To Back During DJ Set

Kanye West reportedly played songs from both Diddy and R. Kelly back to back during a DJ set attended by producer Mike Hector. Hector posted updates from the event on social media over the weekend. In one post on X (formerly Twitter) caught by HipHopDX, he wrote: “I’m at this party and kanye djing. he played 2 diddy songs and then a r kelly song right after. this n***a do not give a f*ck.” He also apparently played songs from Prince, Eurythmics, The Eagles, JAY-Z, and more.

West previously referenced R. Kelly and Diddy consecutively on his Vultures 1 single, “Carnival.” He rapped: “Anybody pissed off, gotta make ’em drink the urine / Now I’m Ye-Kelly, b*tch, now, I’m Bill Cosby, b*tch / Now, I’m Puff Daddy rich, that’s #MeToo me rich.”

A release event hit the horizon, and a listening party in Utah featuring both artists and a host of special guests captivated many fans in attendance. Some highlights: updated versions to select VULTURES 2 tracks like a changed “FOREVER” verse, appearances from Ye’s daughters Chicago and North, live debuts of long-awaited grails like “CAN U BE,” and a whole lot more. But there’s a darker story brewing in the backdrop.

On various social media pages, including clips below and many other Twitter and Instagram discussions, Kanye West fans want the media to do better. Specifically, some pages that haven’t talked about the recent story involving his alleged nitrous addiction now face the wrath of angry comments sections. If you didn’t know about it beforehand but came across any recent Ye content on social media, then you’re definitely going to learn about it. It speaks to how fans are very concerned for his health and well-being these days, although much of this story is still alleged and speculative.

As such, we don’t really know to what extent this alleged nitrous addiction is real, who is to blame, how it’s supposedly affecting Kanye West, and whether it could explain – or be held accountable in regard to – his abhorrent controversies over the past few years. This mystery is partly what fuels fans’ advocacy for the media to address it and hopefully lead to proper care, support, and accountability. Still, take it all with a grain of salt, especially as the Chicago artist hasn’t said anything on the matter at press time.

Perhaps a statement from him could illuminate the situation, but until then, it’s harmful to speculate too far. VULTURES 2 was not as commercially successful as its predecessor, but the album arguably marks an even more important historical moment for Kanye West. His most hardcore fans are working through a lot of narratives: the quality of his music, his health, his bigotry, and their compliance in all of that to varying degrees. Hopefully, the concern will eventually overshadow the spectacle and Ye can prioritize himself rather than his celebrity status or career, or at least clarify whether or not this addiction story is real.
