Kendrick Lamar Albums Done In Eminem’s Style In New Reddit Post

Reddit users are often sharing their creative works to various hip-hop subreddits on the platform. The r/KendrickLamar forum is no different where fans discuss the rapper and occasionally share passion projects related to his work. That was the case when one user shared some impressive photoshop work. User AlvinFlang5 followed the premise “If Eminem made Kendrick Lamar albums” and designed an album cover for each of Lamar’s five studio albums if they had been made by Eminem. Specifically fans in the comments praised the new versions of Good Kid M.A.A.D City and To Pimp A Butterfly.

Unsurprisingly, fans in the comments also had some fun. “I know, “To Pimp A Trailer Park” goes hard af”, the top comment reads. Another pointed out how the post could be even funnier. “missed opportunity to name the album “FACK”,” they commented in reference to a famously vulgar Eminem deep cut. The post has already racked up over 1.7k likes just a day after being posted. The Kendrick Lamar community on reddit has over 380k followers and is one of the biggest rap-focused forums on the site.

Kendrick Lamar was recently announced as a headliner for Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival later this year. He will be performing alongside Baby Keem as “The Hillbillies,” the same name as the pair’s single earlier this year. They’ll be joined by an amazing cast of performers including SZA, Clipse, Ice Spice, Lil Yachty, Kali Uchis and more.

Kendrick getting confirmed for another festival is no surprise as he’s been lighting them up all year. Earlier this month he played a standout set at Lollapalooza day two. He also performed at Governor’s Ball earlier this year where he promised fans that he would be back soon. He followed that promise up with a run of new feature performances throughout the summer. What do you think of the redditor’s photoshops of Kendrick Lamar albums? Let us know which one is your favorite in the comment section below.

Insider Shares Massive Update On Kanye West’s New Album

Kanye West fans have been waiting quite a while for him to return with a a new studio album. Given the difficulty many fans have had trying to hear Donda 2, it’s been since 2021’s DONDA that many fans have heard any new material at all from Kanye. Following his extremely controversial series of public anti-semitic rants last year, Kanye has been extremely private only popping up in a few very secretive events. Now according to new leaks shared with the subreddit dedicated to the controversial rapper’s music, he has an entire new album on the way.

Prominent leaker Insurge shared a number of credible pieces of information with the moderators of the r/GoodAssSub forum on Reddit. Notable details include a planned release schedule for the album, which could arrive as soon as October. It describes the album as a mix of The Life Of Pablo and West’s 2004 debut The College Dropout and mentions that the tracklist pulls formerly unreleased songs from previous eras of West’s career. Finally, the leak mentions that West makes “controversial but not antisemitic mentions of Jewish people on the album.”

Kanye West’s Album Could Drop In October

After a long absence from the public eye Kanye West recently began his return to the spotlight. He popped up last week at Travis Scott’s massive UTOPIA concert in Rome. Scott introduced Kanye as the greatest of all time and the pair performed “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Praise God” together.

This wasn’t the first leak to emerge about Kanye working on new material. Earlier this month another producer let information slip that West was cooking up a new project. Fya Man described the music he was working on as “Old Ye but new with the times.” Fans have long been calling for the “old Kanye,” a sentiment that has appeared in both of the leaks about newly recorded material. What do you think of the leak discussing Kanye West’s new album? Let us know in the comment section below.

Reddit’s Biggest Communities In Music And Beyond Are Going Dark To Protest A Controversial Policy Change

Reddit was founded in 2005, and since then, the social news and discussion website has become a pillar of the internet. It’s one of the world’s most-visited websites and has been a valuable resource for people interested in pretty much any topic the world has to offer. The platform is well known for its AMAs (“Ask Me Anything”), a Q&A format in which an expert, celebrity, or otherwise notable person answers user-submitted questions. Specifically in regards to music, we’ve gotten some great, insightful, and fun AMAs from people like Paul McCartney, Lucy Dacus, Carly Rae Jepsen, Snoop Dogg, and many, many more.

Now, though, there’s some drama happening on the platform and the site’s biggest communities, in music and beyond, are getting involved.

It all started a few days ago, with a post from the developer of Apollo, a third-party mobile app used to access Reddit, in the Apollo subreddit. The post currently has over 154,000 upvotes (which is a lot) and is titled, “Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter’s pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year to keep running as-is.” The post goes into greater detail and notes that Apollo would likely cease to exist under this model, which would be prohibitively expensive. Developers of other third-party Reddit apps have shared similar posts.

Since then, there has been a movement to protest this. A June 2 post from the newly formed r/Save3rdPartyApps subreddit is leading the charge and it does a great job at summarizing the situation. It states:

“A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.

On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.

Even if you’re not a mobile user and don’t use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .

This isn’t only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.”

The post then lays out a plan for a protest: “On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren’t able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn’t something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love Reddit, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love. The two-day blackout isn’t the goal, and it isn’t the end. Should things reach the 14th with no sign of Reddit choosing to fix what they’ve broken, we’ll use the community and buzz we’ve built between then and now as a tool for further action.”

Since this post, a number of major subreddits have either shared similar posts or linked to that one, to declare that they too will be participating in the protest. That includes r/Music, which has over 32 million members and is the fifth-largest community on all of Reddit. Notable genre-specific communities like r/hiphopheads and r/indieheads, which have around 2.5 million members each, have also vowed to join the protest.

A list of other significant subreddits getting involved in the protest, some of which have tens of millions of members, can be found here.

Keanu Reeves Took The Red Pill

Keanu Reeves recently spoke out in a Reddit AMA that he took the red pill. He didn’t literally consume it, but the actor acquired the red pill from the set. The iconic Matrix series had many memorable lines and props. However, there are hardly any props that are as memorable as the blue and red pill. In the Reddit AMA, fans were able to ask the well-known actor questions about his career and experience working in films. They also got the chance to ask personal questions, such as Keanu Reeve’s preferences for food and other things.

In the recent AMA, Keanu Reeves opened up about a little-known fact from his time working on the famous series. The Hollywood superstar reveals that he is now in possession of the infamous “red pill” from the set. This red pill is a reference to a pivotal moment in The Matrix, where the lead character, Neo, is given a choice between taking a red pill or a blue pill. The red pill represents a willingness to see the truth. The blue pill, on the other hand, allows Neo to wake up and attend his old life as normal.

Keanu Reeves Owns The First Red Pill

One of the questions asked by a fan was whether or not the actor ever stole something from the set. In Keanu fashion, he cheekily responded that he was in possession of the red pill. However, the movie star clarifies that he did not steal it. Instead, it was given to him by the directors of the movie. In a role as life-changing as Neo was, it is no surprise that Keanu Reeves wants something to remember it by. The first Matrix film came out in 1999, and the red pill has been in Keanu’s possession ever since.

Keanu Reeves also talks about other items in his possession. He also has the watch and wedding ring from the John Wick series. Along with those, he kept the sword from 47 Ronin. Keanu has one of the most devoted fan bases that an actor can hope to have. People admire his ability to remain down-to-earth despite his massive stardom. The actor continues to show his humility even as he is answering the onslaught of questions brought to him on the Reddit AMA.
