Vladimir Putin Receives Arrest Warrant From The ICC

The International Criminal Court (ICC) just put out an arrest warrant for Russian president Vladimir Putin for war crimes committed against Ukraine in their ongoing invasion of the nation. Moreover, the ICC is specifically taking aim at alleged involvement in abducting children from Ukraine, in addition to other cruel behavior. Furthermore, the court stated that the 70-year-old “is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.”

In addition, they issued a warrant for the arrest of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, on similar charges. However, since Russia does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC, said arrest will prove difficult to enforce. In fact, the response of Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova to the warrant makes their position quite clear. “The decisions of the International Criminal Court have no meaning for our country, including from a legal point of view,” she expressed via a statement. Also, a Russian politician reportedly tweeted a joke about the ICC’s warrant, comparing it to toilet paper.

ICC Issues Arrest Warrant For Vladimir Putin

Meanwhile, officials and citizens in Ukraine are reportedly overjoyed at the news. Moreover, a top advisor to Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the country is ecstatic about the fact that the “wheels of Justice are turning.” Still, such spirit from the Ukranian people faced catastrophic besieging for the past year, or decades depending on how you look at the conflict. Despite its history, it’s undeniable that the past year impacted the two nations’ relationship more than ever. However, another important element that people (especially not from either country) brought up are the other public officials that deserve sentencing.

Of course, the primary examples that social media brought up in that regard are U.S. presidents. For example, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and others faced similar accusations of war crimes, although calling them accusations is an understatement. As such, this news caused not just direct discussion on the conflict, but also indirect discussion on the ICC’s jurisdiction and role. Rapper FUBU Banks’ Diss Track To Russian President Vladimir Putin Could Be The New Ukrainian Anthem

Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin is getting smoke from all sides for invading Ukraine. US President Joe Biden and the EU have imposed sanctions on Russia, including exclusion from the SWIFT system. President Biden is promising the world will hold Russia accountable. In a statement late Wednesday night, Biden said his prayers are with the people of Ukraine as they “suffer an unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces.” He said Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “premeditated war” will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering.

This follows reports of Russian forces invading parts of Ukraine. Ukraine is wedged between Russia and Europe.

Last Wednesday, Russian President Putin ordered a “special military operation” to protect the Donbas region of Ukraine. an eastern territory that is already held by pro-Russia rebels.

In 2014, Putin invaded and annexed Crimea, which lies just to the south of the rest of Ukraine. Then, Putin backed pro-Russia rebels who started seizing territory in eastern Ukraine.

Biden noted he is meeting with G7 counterparts on Thursday morning and then will tell the American people what consequences the U.S. and its Allies will impose on Russia.

President Biden previously warned Moscow there would be “swift and severe consequences” if Russia invaded Ukraine.

Ye Is Apparently Planning To Meet With Putin In Russia And Perform A ‘Sunday Service’

Ye has a lot on his plate lately between a new Netflix documentary, a collection with designer brand Balenciaga, and a budding relationship with Julia Fox. But amid the hustle, the rapper is plotting an even bigger endeavor. Apparently, Ye aims to make Russia “a second home” after an upcoming meeting with the country’s leader Vladimir Putin.

According to a report from Billboard, the rapper’s confidant and strategic advisor Ameer Sudan is arranging a meeting between Ye and Putin sometime this summer. The rapper’s goal is to perform his first-ever shows in the country, including with some of his gospel events Sunday Service, which he will invite Putin to as a special guest. But he also plans to link up with Azerbaijani-Russian billionaire real estate developer Aras Agalarov and his son Emin Agalarov for a potential working relationship. According to Billboard, the real estate mogul is oftentimes referred to as the “Trump of Russia” due to how often he puts his name on the facade of his buildings.

While Sudan didn’t disclose the nature of the business deal, he did say that Ye will be “spending a lot of time out there,” noting that the endeavor could increase Ye’s net worth to more than $10 billion. Last year, Ye’s reported net worth was $6.6 billion, so the project he’s planning to pitch to Agalarov is likely a massive undertaking.
