Obviously, one of hip-hop and R&B’s favorite couples right now had a great Valentine’s Day celebration this week… because that’s their job, right? Moreover, Ashanti published a sweet clip on Instagram of her and Nelly celebrating their love at a club recently, and their laughs and sing-alongs show that they were having a great time. It was at least much more chill than their recent Vegas escapades, where she clowned her boo for knocking his tooth out. Nevertheless, it was wholesome to see the two have fun this season. Even for us single folk out there online, there are much worse couples we could be seeing a whole timeline’s worth of content about.
Furthermore, this duo already took things to the next level in the media landscape: laughing off pregnancy rumors. Fans think that they could make an official announcement any day now, and Nelly and Ashanti’s interactions are usually so wholesome from what we see publicly that people expect things to move fast. But we can’t read minds, and we’d imagine that they’re just enjoying their time as a couple. Maybe one day, they will eventually address this whole ordeal.
However, they also have a lot to keep up with and worry about in their own individual careers and lives as artists. Still, it’s also been nice to see how they connect in ways that don’t speak to their romantic chemistry, but rather what came before any of that: their artistic chemistry. Recently, Ashanti and Nelly collaborated with Jermaine Dupri and Juicy J on the new single “This Lil’ Game We Play.” Perhaps a 2000s pop-rap/R&B renaissance is in order, because this is a pretty fun, casual jam that harkens back to these days endearingly.
Meanwhile, given all their friends in the industry, a lot of folks think they deserve some credit for linking them back up together. Fat Joe recently claimed the strongest stake in this regard, as he brought the Country Grammar MC out for his Verzuz against Ja Rule. That’s apparently when the duo reconnected after Joe’s camp encouraged the St. Louis hitmaker to approach the New York singer at the event. The rest, as they say, is history. It goes without saying that there’s a lot going on in the world of Chloe and Halle Bailey. As the former’s solo career continues to grow, the latter’s been adjusting to life as a mom after unveiling her first son in January. Fans have had a blast watching the two sisters evolve since they took a break from making music together, and were glad to hear that they’ll soon reunite as Chloe x Halle for a new album. With that being said, the duo also has a younger brother, Branson, who seems to have some exciting things going on in his personal life.
According to reports, the 18-year-old is now dating Diddy’s daughter, Chance Combs. The talk started when they showed off what appeared to be a secret handshake on social media. Subsequent posts suggest that they spent Valentine’s Day together earlier this week, with Chance sharing photos of a sweet stuffed bear and some red roses that she seemingly received from Branson.
Branson isn’t the only Bailey to go big for Valentine’s Day, however. Chloe took to Instagram to share a series of stunning shots, reminding followers to “love thyself.” While it appears as though she’s riding solo these days, she and Tyga sparked dating rumors late last year after they were spotted heading home from an LA club together.
As for Halle, she flexed her face card in a couple of love-inspired photos. She also told fans she hopes they’re “spoiled rotten.” Commenters agree that the images are nothing short of angelic, much like her son’s name, Halo. According to her, it was her man DDG who thought of the name, which they both “love.” What do you think of reports that Chloe and Halle’s younger brother is dating Diddy’s daughter? Earlier this week, Tyrese took to Instagram to share some unfortunate news just before Valentine’s Day. According to him, his fiancée Zelie Timothy had broken up with him, claiming that he included too many tracks about his ex-wife Samantha Lee on his latest project, Beautiful Pain. Previously, he revealed that the album was largely inspired by their rocky divorce. “Me and Zelie just broke up over some d*mb sh*t,” he explained. “She demanded that I cancel my ALBUM because there’s too many songs about my ex on there.. f*ck does that even mean?”
Luckily for Tyrese, however, the two of them were able to make a mends pretty quickly. Yesterday (February 14), he hopped on Instagram once again to share that they’ve gotten back together. He unveiled a carousel full of sweet photos of the two of them together, showing off their rekindled romance.
“If apologizing would’ve taken me another two weeks, I would’ve did it because you’re worth it. I’m sorry babe,” he captioned the carousel. “I love you happy Valentines. @zelietimothy you ARE the BEAUTY that I’ve discovered in my pain…. Tyrese.Tv is live for only 8 more hours…… She’s giving me dirty looks now writing this loooonnngggg a** caption lol.” As expected, the speedy reconciliation has left commenters confused, as it was only a couple of days ago that Tyrese announced their breakup publicly. Nonetheless, fans appear to support the reunion.
Clearly, the embattled lovebirds didn’t let the brief intermission get in the way of their holiday. “We lock’d in,” Zelie commented on the post alongside a gold key emoji. What do you think of Tyrese and Zelie Timothy getting back together only a few days after announcing their split? Are you surprised? Kanye West and Bianca Censori’s relationship has been under a microscope ever since they got together. Now that they are marriedeverything is magnified x200. Even his most die-hard fans and followers are certainly not too happy with Ye continuously posting Bianca. The reason for that is because it seems that every time he posts her on his pages, she is wearing something incredibly revealing. Many feel that Kanye is parading her around and publicly degrading her. However, people are still following the rap superstar anyway. That led to him calling out the complainers in a short video at an airport.
“Y’all, I just want to tell everybody I posted my wife three times on purpose. So what I’m saying is, I delivered the album. And people still in my comments talking ’bout, ‘Why you posting your wife?’” Kanye goes on to explain, “Cause she makes me happy. That’s why y’all happy with the music because I’m happy. You understand?”
The Georgia-born multi-hyphenate is not going to slow down with the relationship updates any time soon. That was especially true this Valentine’s Day. Kanye posted a picture of massively beautiful red rose bouquets that were for Bianca. She commented on the post, “My love.” Fans were flooding the post with references to his Late Registration track “Roses.” While the song is a tribute to his grandmother’s health scare, the title of the song was too good of a reference to pass up.
What are your thoughts on Kanye West’s gift to Bianca Censori for Valentine’s Day? How much do you think those rose bouquets cost? What is your opinion on their relationship? Are you still bumping VULTURES 1 and if so what tracks? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to tell us in the comments below. Additionally, keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Kanye West and Bianca Censori. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the words of pop culture and music.
Tiny Harris might be in a whole lot of family drama right now, but that didn’t stop her from dedicating a sweet Valentine’s Day post for her man T.I. on Instagram. In it, they both grab onto each other’s… valuables in the video montage, which is a bit lewd for a typically romantic day, but who are we to tell them how to express their love? Regardless, this follows a lot of developments in their family life that caught a lot of folks’ attention in the headlines, especially as it relates to her seemingly rocky relationship with their son King. Despite all this, it seems like they can still set all that aside to celebrate each other, and this time around, it’s Tiny’s turn to show Tip some love.
“Happy Valentine’s Day to the love of my life @tip,” Tiny wrote to T.I. on the social media platform, captioning the video edit. “Thank you for loving the way u do. U always make me feel like the most love & adored woman in the world & I love u so much for it. 23years strong. God just keeps on Blessing me & our union!!! #TipNTiny #RealLove couldn’t cut @eclass1982 out cause she was too lit.”
However, beyond their family life and relationship, T.I. might have to defend Tiny against some contemporary stars. For example, Ari Lennox recently called her out for criticizing her range in a 2022 interview during a recent Instagram Live session. “You can’t drag me and then, ‘Oh yeah!’” Lennox expressed. “I mean, just like Tiny. You can’t in one breath say, ‘Oh yeah, she’s amazing,’ but also say I don’t have range. These are back-handed compliments, so I will forever look at you like a shady pest. Yeah, that’s what she said. That really hurt my feelings.”
Meanwhile, the couple is also dealing with some heavy lawsuits and accusations of sexual assault. Those cases remain open and hotly contested, and there’s no telling how they will develop and play out in the near future. Hopefully they can resolve any internal conflict before handling these tough allegations. On that note, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Tiny and T.I.
Today is Valentine’s Day and celebrities are celebrating in a a variety of ways. Many have posted tributes to their special ones whether those are other celebs or long-running sweethearts. But fans of Chloe Bailey won’t be surprised by how she chose to celebrate the holiday. Her Instagram feed is basically an unending series of gorgeous outfit pics and thirst traps and unsurprisingly she used Valentine’s Day as a reason to share even more.
In the new pics she’s focusing on loving herself. The series of shots show off some lacy black lingerie that she’s absolutely killing. “love thyself happy valentine’s day” her caption reads. In the comments fans show her love for her stunning looks. “She get money, her body tea, she super thic, she super pretty” one of the top comments on the post reads and it isn’t alone. “Motha you looks goodt” and “This is what a a whole package looks like from head to toes straight dime” two other comments read.
The last time Chloe shared an updated photo dump was from the Grammys pre-show. Last year, Chloe released her debut solo album In Pieces though it was met with mixed reviews and underwhelming sales. It’s not all that surprising that as a result the project failed to spawn any nominations. But Chloe’s sister Halle dropped her debut single as a solo artist as well and that did secure a nomination, though it didn’t win.
Earlier this year, Halle gave birth to her first child. The pregnancy came as a surprise to many as she managed to keep it a secret throughout. Chloe was a part of that illusion fighting back against rumors and speculation about her pregnancy online for months leading up to the actual birth. What do you think of Chloe Bailey’s Valentine’s Day photo shoot? How do you think it compares to some of her best pic dumps in the past? Let us know in the comment section below.
Freddie Gibbs and model/influencer Jasmine Grenaway confirmed that they are in a relationship with posts on social media, Wednesday, in honor of Valentine’s Day. Sharing a video of herself with the rapper on Instagram, Grenaway described him as her “soulmate.”
“Happy Valentine’s Day @freddiegibbs,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m in love with you unconditionally. Thank you for existing. You are my soulmate.” Afterward, Gibbs shared a video of Wee-Bey from The Wire on Twitter with the caption: “I got n****z like…”
Prior to dating Grenaway, Gibbs was in a relationship with Fit Mami. The relationship turned south when Mami got pregnant and Gibbs reportedly wanted her to get an abortion. She brought her issues with Gibbs public on social media in turn. “I get [to the abortion clinic] and the doctor lets me know I’m closer to 12 weeks, and I saw our little baby moving around and I knew then that I couldn’t go through with it,” she wrote. “After we broke up, I turned his phone off, because I was paying his phone bill. He never checked on me after, ‘said procedure’ never called to confirm if I went through with it. I just simply never heard from him again. I’ve reached out to him, his manager, his assistant, and no one will respond, I feel like I’ve done my part, kept it real, and this is the thanks I get. noted I no longer want a response, no bad blood. I’m going to be just fine. But I had to speak my truth.”
Earlier this week, Vory’s girlfriend felt that she had to take to social media with some serious allegations made against the rapper. She began a series of story posts explaining why she couldn’t believe the circumstances she’d ended up in. “The lies people will spread about you and try to paint you out to be because you don’t want to be abused, cheated on, or lied to anymore. I want to just feel safe in your own home again. Please be aware of who you are in a relationship with. If a man has abused women in the passed they will do it to you!” her first post reads.
In a consecutive post, she called out Vory directly. “You are a disgusting person. You want to paint me out to be this “whore” / bad person. When it’s you!! I don’t want to be with you or take your Valentine’s Day gift or spend time with you as a family because of all the sh*t you’ve put me through for TWO years,” she adds. Her posts continue calling out the rapper and singer for lying publicly in an attempt to turn the narrative against her. She concludes by taking aim at women who support a man who’s accused of abusing a pregnant woman. Check out the full series of posts and her additional video evidence below.
But the accusations made by Vory’s girlfriend aren’t unsubstantiated. As evidence she shares a pair of pretty damning videos recorded by internal security cameras in their house. In one clip you can see him cornering and yelling at her while she holds their baby. Another clip features a moment where he seems to make the threat that he could have her killed.
What do you think of Vory’s girlfriend accusing him of abuse on Valentine’s Day? Do you think the videos she shared are as damning evidence as possible? Let us know in the comment section below.
It goes without saying that Nick Cannon has come a long way since his marriage and eventual divorce from Mariah Carey. Aside from the two children he shares with the songstress, Cannon has 10 little ones to look after with six women, including Mariah. Despite having love for all of the women he’s fathered kids with, he seems to have always had a special place in his heart for the “Obsessed” performer, even going so far as to consider a reunion.
During a recent interview, Cannon revealed whether or not he’d be willing to give his relationship with Mariah another shot. According to him, it’s not completely off the table. “I mean, you gotta ask her! Let me know what she say!” he joked. “Ask her, text me, we can talk through you. It’s Valentines is in the air, you can be the chocolate Cupid. Let’s do it, I’m with it.”
Cannon isn’t the only person to come a long way since their relationship, however. Mariah went on to date one of her former backup dancers, Bryan Tanaka, for seven years. The pair just announced their split in December of last year, stating that the decision was mutual and citing the “invaluable time” they spent together. While Mariah is newly single, Cannon has previously claimed that he’d prefer to leave the past in the past. According to him, he’s concerned that if revisiting an old relationship went wrong, it would “ruin” his memories of it for good.
What do you think of Nick Cannon joking that he could be interested in getting back together with his ex, Mariah Carey? Do you think the two of them should give their relationship another shot? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
Watching romantic comedy movies for Valentine’s Day is something people have been doing for years. Commonly called “rom-coms,” these movies typically have a predictable plot and outcome, which is comforting for people who just want to see love win in the end. Over the years, people have taken different approaches to this genre to make their movies stand out from the rest. They bring unique elements to the plot, characters, soundtrack, and more that offer something refreshing but still remain accessible.
In our list, we‘ve gathered some romantic comedies that did just that. In fact, calling a few of these romantic comedies may not seem accurate to some. Yet, the premise of a couple falling in love through a series of interconnected events is still present in all of them. Plus – the music in all of our movie choices is curated excellently.
Love Don’t Cost A Thing (2003)
Valentine’s Day is on a Wednesday this year, but if you want to watch this movie for your Throwback Thursday, go for it. This movie came out in 2003 and stars a young Nick Cannon, Kenan Thompson, Christina Milian, Steve Harvey, and more. In it, Cannon’s character Alvin lets Millan’s character Dru “pay” him for working on her mother’s car by posing as his girlfriend for two weeks. Alvin isn’t “cool,” so to maintain her image, she changes up his style completely.
His transformation into someone “cool” is drenched in early 2000s hip-hop fashion. With the combination of his color-coordinated tops and bottoms, headbands, long chain, and toothpick, the entire look is a great snapshot of the timeframe the movie released. While not original in its lesson, this is still a fun one that you probably remember or randomly saw on BET one day while flipping channels.
Rye Lane (2023)
This is the newest movie on our list. It was released just over a month after Valentine’s Day in 2023. Rye Lane follows a couple who meet under unique circumstances and end up spending an entire day together. The movie has many modern elements reflected in the soundtrack, costumes, and script. UK slang runs throughout the movie, too. The hip-hop component stems from all of these elements but even extends into the plot itself.
Amongst other situations, characters Yas, played by David Jonsson, and Dom, played by Vivian Oparah, must retrieve a vinyl of A Tribe Called Quest’s The Low-End Theory album from the home of Dom’s ex-boyfriend. A creatively depicted scene also explains why this album was such a key aspect of the relationship. This is one that puts stylization over tropes and still provides an engaging watch.
Poetic Justice (1993)
We know we officially said this was a list of romantic comedy movies for Valentine’s Day. While this movie certainly is not a “rom-com” in the traditional sense, we’d be remiss if we didn’t include it on this list, regardless. John Singleton is a legendary director known for his 90s classics which all have a strong hip-hop element within them. Whether it’s the soundtrack, the costumes or the film’s general tone, everything is on 10. Janet Jackson and Tupac star in the lead roles in this one. Audiences still use GIFs and repost clips from it, and the term “Poetic Justice braids” is commonly used today. This certified classic can be enjoyed all year but might hit a little harder this month.
Let It Shine (2012)
You may have made a face when you saw this entry on the list, but hear us out! This is a great Valentine’s Day movie and is honestly the most hip-hop-centered one on our list. The plot follows Cyrus, played by Tyler James Williams, who secretly writes raps. Because of a simple mistake, people begin to believe his best friend Kris, played by Trevor Jackson, is the one writing the raps – including Cyrus’ crush Roxie, played by Coco Jones. The movie’s story reflects the characters’ ages and teaches lessons in confidence, identity, and more. Plus, there are several musical performances, including a rap battle scene that – amongst the nostalgia – still hits all these years later. This movie is another one that was big, depending on your generation, but still a fun one if you want something more lighthearted than our other entries.
Brown Sugar (2002)
This is a universally celebrated classic Valentine’s Day-related movie from 2002. The movie’s hip hop centric approach sets it apart from many rom-coms. Taye Digg’s character Dre is an A&R Executive for hip-hop, and Sanaa Lathan’s character Sid is an Editor-In-Chief for a magazine. Hip-hop is a running theme in their interactions and is the basis of their initial meeting. The hip-hop influence also extends to the cast of the movie. Rappers Queen Latifah and Mos Def play characters who have direct interactions with Sid and Dre. Additionally, there were cameos from hip-hop legends like Big Daddy Kane, Method Man, Slick Rick, and more. The movie’s soundtrack continued the theme, with the album not only achieving Billboard Chart success but Erykah Badu and Common’s track on it, “Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop),” won a Grammy.
Have you seen any of these movies? What movies will you be watching to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Let us know in the comments section.
