Usher Doesn’t Want ‘No Smoke’ With Dwyane Wade After He Briefly Serenaded Gabrielle Union

Usher is gearing up for some incredible career milestones. In February, the legendary hitmaker will perform the Apple Music Halftime Show at Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. He will also drop his ninth studio, Coming Home, on the same day.

But despite his status as an R&B heartthrob for nearly 30 years, he still knows to tread lightly with certain ladies. In a video shared to Instagram, Usher serenades actress Gabrielle Union at a show in Paris with a live performance of his song “Boyfriend.” But when he realized her husband Dwyane Wade was right next to her, he quickly pulled back.

“Wait, let’s stop, let’s not get carried away,” Usher said, laughing. “This is Dwyane Wade. I ain’t crazy! That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it.”

Clearly, Usher remembers the whole kerfuffle with Keke Palmer. Thankfully, all parties maintained good spirits about the whole thing.

Elsewhere in the clip, Usher and Wade are seen hugging. He tells Wade and Union that he is “so happy to see” the couple.

Both Wade and Usher shared the clip on Instagram, with Usher captioning the video “Look, I don’t want no smoke” with a crying-laughing emoji.

Usher Wants No Parts Of Keke Palmer Drama, Refuses To Be Like Trey Songz

More headlines continue to come out about the lengthy drama involving R&B phenom, Usher, Keke Palmer, and her now ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson. As most people know, it all started back in early July at one of Usher’s shows with Keke in attendance. The actress joined him onstage and was serenaded as she wrapped her arms around him. It was a viral moment that led to tons of debates on who was to blame for this happening. Some people were on team Darius Jackson, saying Keke was in the wrong for putting herself out there when she had a man at home.

Conversely, others were siding with Keke saying she can do what she wants and Darius is insecure. Then, you had people, like Charlamagne tha God, saying that Usher was the villain behind all of this. It got really messy, and perhaps even more so when the singer had Keke be a part of a music video. Even after speaking about a few times, it was brought up again to Usher during an interview with The Breakfast Club.

The Dallas-born artist addressed the situation and Charlamagne’s comments as well. Usher wanted to make it clear that he wanted nothing else, but to be left out of it going forward. He told the panel, “I’m not Mr. Steal Your Girl, that’s Trey Songz. I’m the guy who tells you not to leave your girl around me.” Loren LoRosa even asked him if there was any guilt about all the issues that came with it. Usher appeared to be a little annoyed about the question. He shut that down, saying, “What would the guilt be, that I had a great show?” Furthermore, he talked about the music video and why he decided to work with Keke. He says it was to bring good attention and intention and it was just to have fun.

What are your initial thoughts on Usher’s comments about the Keke Palmer drama? Do you think he was right in working with her for the music video and singing to her? Did The Breakfast Club try to make him look bad in the interview? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Usher, as well as the rest of the music world.

Usher Announces Release of Ninth Album ‘COMING HOME’

Usher Announces Release of Ninth Album 'COMING HOME'

Usher has set the stage for a grand return with the upcoming release of his ninth studio album, COMING HOME, scheduled for Feb. 11, 2023. The album includes the already popular hit single “Good Good,” featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker. Notably, the track stormed to #1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales Chart upon its release and has continued to make waves at Urban, Rhythm, and Top 40 radio stations.

Good Good” also secured prominent placements, gracing the covers of Spotify’s Are & Be for a week and Apple Music’s R&B Now for two consecutive weeks. It further rose to the #1 position on Shazam in cities like Atlanta, Memphis, San Francisco, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and more.

Usher didn’t stop there. He surprised fans with “Boyfriend” and a mesmerizing video featuring the Emmy Award-winning entertainer Keke Palmer, creating a viral sensation that left an indelible mark on pop culture.

“We’ve put a lot of thought and creativity into this new album to tell a story that is open to interpretation and that will connect with people in different ways. I know this has been a long time coming for my fans and what I’ll say is that all good things come to those who wait. I hope you enjoy it once you hear it,” said Usher.

“USHER is one of the greatest superstars of our time. His undeniable talent, work ethic and charisma has sustained an incredibly successful career for over 30 years in the business, an achievement not to be taken lightly,” L.A. Reid adds. “Our history of working with each other made putting this body of work together a true passion project and I’m proud to be by his side as he reveals it to the world on February 11.”

The album will be launched under “mega,” a music collective founded by Usher and L.A. Reid, in collaboration with “gamma,” the artist-first multimedia platform led by CEO Larry Jackson and President Ike Youssef. This partnership will see gamma exclusively handle the distribution and marketing of all music released by mega.

“I’ve known USHER since we met as teenagers in 1997. I’ve counted him as a friend since then.  I’ve also watched him work indefatigably hard over the past thirty years to turn into the global superstar that he is today. Now, I could not be more excited to welcome him and the legendary L.A. Reid to gamma. with mega! USHER left the conventional system, bet on himself, and signed himself to himself.  Wow.  I hope that it’s an example for other major artists to come. USHER and L.A. are true music pioneers and their attention to detail for creative excellence is exceptional. We’ve been having so much fun already and I am truly excited for what’s to come.  It’s amazing to see the new music explode onto urban and pop radio in the U.S., and globally as well,” says Larry Jackson.

In conjunction with the album’s release, Usher’s Las Vegas residency, “Usher My Way,” celebrated its second sold-out year, setting social media abuzz with unforgettable moments. To add to the excitement, “Usher: Rendez-vous à Paris,” his European residency at La Seine Musicale, will kick off on Sept. 24 and run until Oct. 5.

Where Is Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show?

On Sunday, September 24, Usher simultaneously confirmed that his next album is called Coming Home and unveiled himself as the Super Bowl LVIII Apple Music Halftime Show performer. The cover art shows Usher holding a Georgia peach over the back of his neck.

“I’ve been coming home in a lot of different ways — the choice of music and reconnection to some of the people that I’ve worked with from my past and always wanted to work with,”Usher told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, adding, “In a sense, I’m coming home because I’m in that comfortable space. When you’re at home, you’re comfortable.”

Usher has become very comfortable in Las Vegas during his Usher: My Way The Vegas Residency, so, of course, he is performing Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11, 2024.

“It’s happening,” Usher told Lowe. “It has happened, ladies and gentlemen! Yes! We made it. […] It’s been a lot to keep secrets from my own kids at home. A very, very close-knit group of people knew, and we’re really excited about the entire thing. Obviously, a legacy, but more than anything, the fact that this is the most grand stage to ever play on.”

For fans who can’t bear to wait until February to see Usher, there are still plenty of Usher: My Way The Vegas Residency dates before it closes on December 2.

Coming Home will be Usher’s ninth LP and first original album release since Hard II Love in 2016. So far, the only released track is “Good Good” featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker from August.

When Is Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show?

Usher’s wildly successful Usher: My Way The Las Vegas Residency is scheduled to end on December 2, but Usher does not plan on taking a break in 2024 — and he doesn’t even need to leave Las Vegas.

On Sunday, September 24, Usher, Roc Nation, and the NFL simultaneously confirmed that he will perform the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show at Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on February 11, 2024. The game will broadcast on CBS.

Usher’s announcement cleverly recreated Usher’s “Confessions, Pt. II” video. One version had present-day Usher talking to the Usher in the “Confessions” video, reassuring him, “The song is gonna be fine. You get a girl pregnant; it’s gonna be a hit. […] Listen, we’re doing the Apple Music Halftime Show. The Super Bowl! In Las Vegas! I’m on set shooting the promo for it right now.”

There were several versions, each featuring Usher co-starring with someone different, including Kim Kardashian, Deion Sanders, Odell Beckham Jr., and Marshawn Lynch.

And what better time to announce an album?

Usher also confirmed that he will release Coming Home during his Super Bowl performance. He spoke with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about both exciting developments, expressing how relieved he is to no longer have to keep the Super Bowl secret from his kids and explaining the meaning behind his new album’s title.

Its official! Usher, the reigning king of R&B, will take center stage at Allegiant Stadium for the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Just as the news broke early this morning, Usher joined Zane Lowe in-studio on Apple Music 1 live from Paris to discuss today’s news for the first time. He tells Apple Music about why he’s excited to perform on “the most grand stage”, getting the call from Jay-Z, growing up watching the show and joining that special legacy of artists, his connection to host city Las Vegas and what he’s learned from doing his residency there, whether fans can expect special guests during his performance, and why he’s only just getting started.

Usher on Why He’s Excited To Perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show…

It’s happening. It has happened, ladies and gentlemen!! It’s been a lot like to keep secrets from my own kids at home. Yeah. A very, very close knit group of people knew and were really excited about the entire thing. Obviously a legacy. But more than anything the fact that this is the most grand stage to ever play on, man. Those 13 minutes mean everything. Been on my bucket list for a long time. I’ve been asked many a times “what are the benchmarks or what are the things that matter the most I guess to you?” It’s obviously performing, but being able to perform on stage because so many amazing performers throughout the years have have graced it and did an amazing job. So of course the obsession of that starts. But man, just the excitement in this moment like to really be able to savor this moment. You you remember the first time you ever heard your record play on the radio. You remember the first time you ever heard your voice, you know, on a on a format or radio, Right? This is like that for me. Yes, it’s one of those….I’m very, very happy…
