Bronny James could make his college debut this weekend against Long Beach State. James participated in his first full-contact practice session on Thursday, sparking hope that he is ready to play with the team. USC has not officially confirmed that James will play. However, coach Andy Enfield spoke openly about James appearing “very soon”, albeit on a strict minutes limit. If James does play, it will mark a miraculous return from what was once thought a career-ending congenital heart condition.

James joins a USC team that has struggled in recent weeks. After starting the season 4-1, the Trojans have dropped two of their last three games. While ESPN gives the 49ers an 82.5% win probability against Long Beach State, the 49ers won’t go down quietly. The Big West school is 6-4, including a marquee win over an ailing Michigan program. Trojans-49ers has become a regular non-conference matchup in recent years. Last season, USC won by 10. Furthermore, Bronny’s father LeBron is expected to be in attendance for his son’s debut. Bronny will be the first James to play college ball, as LeBron was drafted into the NBA right out of high school.

What To Expect From Bronny James’ USC Debut

Fans flocking to the Galen Center should temper their expectations for James’ first college game. With Enfield’s starting lineup firmly set, James will likely come off the bench and play limited minutes, both due to the talent around him and as part of his ongoing recovery. However, his time on the floor will be marked by a mix of elite defense and scoring. Furthermore, with No. 1 recruit Isaiah Collier scoring 17.3 a night, there will be less pressure on James to come in and immediately be a major contributor.

Despite this, anticipated for James’ debut is already off the charts. “Everybody’s excited to see Bronny on the court. The fans, teammates, everybody around our program and university. Bronny’s done a great job of mentally and physically getting back to this point and I think he’s very anxious to get back full-time playing. The USC debut of Bronny James is coming very soon, according to Trojans head coach Andy Enfield. “Bronny has not been cleared fully yet from USC. He can participate without contact. He’s done a good job of getting his conditioning and his strength back and I think he’s on the path to being ready to play very quickly. “We hope to get Bronny on the court as soon as possible. The heart specialist, the doctors at USC, those are people that have to give the approval [to clear James for full-contact practice] and I know they’re working diligently on the whole process. I commend them for all they’ve done as part of this,” Enfield told ESPN.

Furthermore, he had high praise for Bronny himself. “Everybody’s excited to see Bronny on the court. The fans, teammates, everybody around our program and university. LeBron Will Miss Lakers Game To Watch Bronny Debut

Meanwhile, LeBron James recently revealed his intentions for Bronny’s debut. “Whenever he’s cleared and ready to have his first game, I already told my teammates that if they play on the same day we’re playing, I’m going to have to catch them the next game. Family over everything. But definitely got to see Bronny’s first game whenever he’s cleared and ready to go,” LeBron told reporters after the Lakers’ loss to the Thunder last week.

Furthermore, of the Trojans’ next 10 games from December 11 onwards, four coincide with a Lakers’ fixture. Bronny James has received medical clearance to resume practice and finally make his debut for USC. The announcement came via a statement from the James family earlier today. “Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after. Bronny James is back on the basketball floor. The USC star warmed up with the team before an 81-70 win over Brown College.

James’ teammate, USC guard Kobe Johnson, detailed what it was like to have James on the court.

“It’s awesome having him back and on the team with us and participating with us,” Johnson said to ESPN. “We want him back as soon as possible, but we want him to be as healthy as possible when he comes back. Every day we pray that he keeps getting better and hopefully sometime this year he’s able to get on the floor with us.”

USC coach Andy Enfield added, “It was great. He went through warmups with the team. He’s a big part of our program and our team. He’s a terrific teammate.”

Bronny James also went and saw his father LeBron James drop 37 points in a win over the Houston Rockets.

YG And Saweetie Performing Together At USC

After a few months of fan speculation kept YG and Saweetie’s relationship in the headlines, the pair have been pretty quiet since. Part of that has to do with the fact that a tour announced for the two was canceled. They were due to head out on tour alongside Tyga but it was shut down for unspecified reasons. Some fans tried to read between the lines and believe that it was low ticket sales that ultimately led to the cancellation.

That hasn’t stopped the couple from performing together though. New videos show them taking the stage at Saweetie’s alma mater USC. The particular clip making the rounds sees her performing to a crowd in what looks like the school’s basketball arena. But fans in the comments are focused on YG’s lack of hype. He spends much of the video just wandering around stage. “Why he not hyping her,” one of the top comments on the post reads. “He just standing there watching her 😩🤣🥰 he not performing at alll 😂😂 she looks gooddttt,” another agrees. Bronny Still Tops NIL Earnings Despite Cardiac Arrest

However, not even a cardiac arrest can stop Bronny making bank. Sports Illustrated‘s annual Money Issue released last month showed that Bronny tops the list of NIL earners at the college level. According to On3, Bronny James is earning $6.1 million and Shedeur Sanders is earning $4.1 million. Rounding out the top five are LSU’s Livvy Dunne ($3.2M), Texas’ Arch Manning ($2.9M), and USC’s Caleb Williams ($2.6M). Only one other woman appears in the top ten. LSU’s Angel Reese sits at eighth in the current rankings.

However, NIL earners, especially female athletes, still receive criticism. There are many people, several in positions of power, who don’t believe that athletes should receive any compensation before the pro level of their respective sport. Livvy Dunne recently spoke out on this exact issue. “People definitely discredit what I do. People need to understand that I’ve worked for everything I’ve earned. I’ve spent years building an audience, and brands pay me for what they believe is worth the reach of the demographic that I offer,” Dunne said in an interview earlier this year.

Cam’ron called out his It Is What It Is co-host Ma$e for his antics in Boulder this past weekend. The pair rolled up to support Deion Sanders and Colorado. However, Ma$e ditched the Buffs for the Trojans as they entered halftime with USC leading 34-14. Ma$e went as far as to post a video of himself dancing to “Who Let the Dogs Out” on USC’s sideline.

“How da fuck he get on their sideline?! N-gga Betha talking bout ‘USC adopted him’ in his caption. I told n-ggas had everything laid out for you. You had your own suite ready, they had the car service ready for you, catering, and once n-ggas start losing. How the fuck you get on the USC sideline? … You embarrassed me, man… People seen that it was a little embarrassing for me, man.” Ma$e tried to defend himself, saying he was off getting Smashburger when he was simply swept up by the USC crowd.

Cam’ron Sticks With Colorado Through Failed Comeback

While Ma$e may have ditched the Buffs at halftime, that’s when the game actually got interesting. Trailing 34-14, a completely different Buffs team took the field in the third quarter. The Buffs outscored the Trojans 27-14 in the second half and were an onside kick recovery away from at least forcing overtime. However, USC recovered the kick and killed the clock to hang on for a 48-41 victory. If they had been successful, the 27-point comeback would have been the largest in school history. That record is held by the Buffs’ 20-point comeback against Missouri in 1978.

The loss dropped Colorado to 3-2 on the season and made their all-time record against the Trojans a dismal 0-17. Shedeur Sanders had 371 yards, four touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown. Meanwhile, receiver Omarion Miller had 196 yards and a score. However, the defense was absolutely torched through the air by USC. Caleb Williams had six passing touchdowns, with two going to former Buffs receiver Brendan Rice. Next week, the Buffs travel to 1-4 Arizona State.

Just over two months ago he suffered a terrifying cardiac arrest during a workout at USC’s Galen Center. This occurred shortly after Buffalo Bill’s cornerback Damar Hamlin went through a similar thing. The sports community and the rest of the world surrounded the James family with tons of support during the rough time.

Luckily and thankfully, Bronny’s surgery went smoothly. He was back in the public eye just a few days later. Back in August, we got word on what caused this to happen. According to the medical professionals who attended to Bronny, it is an anatomically and functionally significant Congenital Heart Defect. These happen at birth, according to the CDC. “They can affect how blood flows through the heart and out to the rest of the body. CHDs can vary from mild (such as a small hole in the heart) to severe (such as missing or poorly formed parts of the heart).”

LeBron James Speaks To Media About Bronny’s Health

After a truly frightening time for LeBron and the rest of the family, he cleared some air at the Lakers Media Day. TMZ Sports found footage of him speaking about Bronny, “He’s on the up-and-up.” He continued, “Happy to see where he is today.” The 18-year-old has a lot of hype around him, but we hope that he continues to get healthy and wish the absolute best for him. There is no definitive report on whether or not he will play for the Trojans as of yet.
