A$AP Rocky’s Attorney Predicts ‘Vindication’ On Gun Charges: ‘There’s No Reason To Discuss The Possibility Of Conviction’

A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky, who is currently facing two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and an allegation of personal use of a handgun, recently appeared in court for his arraignment.

Vindicated?

On Monday, Jan. 8, A$AP Rocky appeared in court for his arraignment. In court proceedings, the Harlem rapper authorized his attorneys to handle perfunctory matters on his behalf, reserving his presence for more substantial issues.

While the pre-trial is set for March 6, when discussions on pre-trial motions and potential plea deals are expected, his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, clarified that a plea deal is not on the table.

Tacopina Speaks

Furthermore, post-trial it was asserted that A$AP Rocky is assured of vindication, a distinct outcome from a not-guilty verdict. Joe Tacopina, A$AP Rocky’s lawyer, was questioned by Afi Patterson, Esq., about whether they had deliberated the potential for conviction. Tacopina responded with a firm “no.” He elaborated, stating:

“We have not discussed the possibility of conviction; there’s no reason to discuss the possibility of conviction. Facts will take us in a certain direction, and we’ll deal with whatever comes our way, but that’s not a concern.”

Regarding the pertinent reason for Patterson’s inquiry, she explained:

“I always advise my clients of a possibility of a not guilty verdict and a possibility of a conviction, and their exposure if convicted. Clients need to be aware of the risks of conviction, because you never know what a jury will do and it helps the client make more informed decisions.”

A$AP Rocky’s case stems from an incident in Hollywood, California, where he is accused by his ex-friend, A$AP Relli, of firing a gun at him during an argument.

A$AP Rocky Denies Defaming Ex-Friend A$AP Relli

A$AP Rocky is denying allegations made by his ex-friend A$AP Relli. The Harlem rapper recently filed his official response to the defamation lawsuit.

A$AP Rocky Denies Defaming Relli

On December 26, regarding a defamation lawsuit made by A$AP Rocky’s ex-friend, A$AP Relli, Rocky denied all allegations of claims made by Relli.

The ongoing legal battle comes amidst Rocky’s pending criminal charges over a shooting incident in November 2021, where Relli accuses the Harlem rapper of firing a gun at him during an argument in Hollywood, California.

Rocky was later arrested by the LAPD in connection with the shooting incident involving Relli. However, he was released on bond, only to face a civil lawsuit from Rellie seeking damages for the alleged injuries.

‘Expressions Of Opinion’

In November 2023, prosecutors presented a video as evidence, purporting to show Rocky holding a gun before the alleged shooting. In response, Rocky submitted his official answer arguing:

“The Complaint does not state facts sufficient to constitute a cause of action against the Defendants in that the statements alleged to be defamatory are not false statements of fact. Rocky said the statements alleged to be ‘defamatory are expressions of opinion.’ ”

Thus, Rocky requested the suit’s dismissal and reimbursement for his legal expenses.

A$AP Rocky Faces Trial As New Footage Emerges In Shooting Case

New developments have surfaced in A$AP Rocky’s shooting case involving A$AP Relli, as prosecutors recently presented video evidence during a recent court hearing. The footage allegedly shows the Harlem rapper holding a gun during a physical altercation with Relli, prompting the case to proceed to trial.

Footage Revealed

As footage surfaces, A$AP Rocky finds himself in a tense legal battle as he faces trial for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident involving former A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli.

In a Los Angeles courtroom on November 20, prosecutors presented a video that they claim shows the “Fashion Killa” rapper holding a gun during the altercation with Relli. Throughout the testimony, Rocky maintained a stoic composure, as still photos from the footage further strengthened the prosecution’s argument.

Is That Rocky?

During the court proceedings, Detective Frank Flores of the Los Angeles Police Department took the stand and attested that law enforcement acquired the video as part of their investigation.

The prosecution further supported their argument by presenting still photos from the footage, aiming to establish that the individual with the gun in question was indeed A$AP Rocky. The video, obtained by the Los Angeles Police Department, during their investigation, reveals Rocky donning a dark blue suit, black glasses, and a black facemask.

Additionally, prosecutors played another clip of what they allege to be two gunshots, although no video of the actual shooting itself has been presented.

A$AP Relli, who claims to have been shot by Rocky, testified that the incident occurred after they were initially separated. Relli stated that Rocky fired four shots before leaving him on the street.

No Fingerprints?

However, law enforcement was unable to recover any fingerprints from the 9mm shell casings provided by Relli, raising questions about the validity of his claims.

During the trial, police body cam footage was also shown, revealing the arrival of at least seven officers at the scene and their subsequent search for evidence.

To date, no gun or fingerprints from shell casings have been found by the authorities.

A$AP Relli Testifies A$AP Rocky Threatened To Kill Him With Gun Held To His Stomach

Former A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli recently unveiled unsettling revelations about an encounter with fellow rapper A$AP Rocky that escalated into a hostile confrontation. According to Relli, this tumultuous encounter unfolded in Nov. 2021, with allegations of him being shot in the hand by the Harlem rapper during the heated altercation.

The Heated Exchange

In a Los Angeles court on Nov. 8,  Former A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, revealed disturbing details about an encounter with Rocky that quickly turned hostile.

According to Relli’s testimony, the incident occurred at a Los Angeles hotel, where he had agreed to meet Rocky to resolve their ongoing issues. Relli claimed that the incident took place on November 6, 2021, when he was allegedly shot in the hand by Rocky during a heated encounter.

However, Relli claims that Rocky arrived with an entourage instead of a peaceful discussion, seemingly attempting to intimidate him. The tension escalated, and Relli alleges that the dramatic turn of events involved a gun being drawn.

Their strained relationship apparently stemmed from perceived broken promises, including support for a slain A$AP Mob member’s family.

‘I’ll Kill You Right Now’

During the heated exchange, Relli testified that  Rocky pressed the gun against his stomach while uttering chilling words, “I’ll kill you right now.”

Fortunately, the “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n)” rapper did not shoot at that moment, but Relli claims that shots were fired shortly after they separated. Relli recalls feeling a searing pain in his hand and realizing he had been shot.

Allegedly, Rocky fired around four times before fleeing the scene, leaving Relli behind. The incident left Relli shaken and fearful, causing him to delay reporting to the authorities until a day later.

A video of Rocky was shared of him leaving the courthouse with court reporter Meghann Cuniff, asking him, “Rocky, how ya feeling in there? How’s it going?” Rocky simply threw up two peace signs as he walked off. Rocky had previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm.

Oprah Sets The Record Straight On Rumors Involving Taraji P. Henson

Oprah, Taraji P Henson

Oprah Winfrey has finally responded to the viral comments made by her The Color Purple co-star Taraji P. Henson in a recent interview.

Oprah Speaks Her Piece

Addressing the rumors at the Golden Globes during an interview on Sunday, Jan. 7, with Entertainment Tonight, Oprah Winfrey stated:

“I heard I was trending yesterday because people are saying that I was not supporting Taraji, Taraji will tell you herself that I’ve been the greatest champion for this film, championing not only the behind the scenes production, but also everything that everybody needed. So when I heard that there was something that people needed, I’m not in charge of the budget because that’s Warner Brothers, you know that’s the way the studio system works.”

Fans had mixed reactions to Oprah Winfrey’s response. One user named @Coolness941 agreed when they wrote, “I like how she said she’s not in charge of the budget. People turned her into Warner Brothers (the studio that made the film) and I wanna know why.”

Another user named @HatimSings wrote, “The Color Purple press tour needs a PR makeover. I just saw my second clip of Oprah on the Golden Globes red carpet shutting down feud rumors with Taraji. How is this the focus of the red carpet?!?!”

Hot-Air Balloon Beef?

The Hustle & Flow actress’s recent comments in a New York Times interview shed light on the challenges faced by the cast of The Color Purple. She expressed:

“They gave us rental cars, and I was like, ‘I can’t drive myself to set in Atlanta.’ This is insurance liability, it’s dangerous. Now they robbing people. What do I look like, taking myself to work by myself in a rental car? So I was like, ‘Can I get a driver or security to take me?’ I’m not asking for the moon. They’re like, ‘Well, if we do it for you, we got to do it for everybody.’ Well, do it for everybody! It’s stuff like that, stuff I shouldn’t have to fight for.”

Prior, numerous speculations arose regarding the “tension” between Taraji P. Henson and Oprah Winfrey during the press tour for The Color Purple. In a viral video featuring the cast on a hot-air balloon, observers speculated about the tension between the two, as it seemed that Oprah was unwilling to be near Taraji.

The exchange occurred shortly after Taraji began speaking out about her compensation as an actress and the treatment she typically receives while working on various film sets.

‘The Color Purple’ Press Run

Throughout the press run, several cast members, including Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, and Fantasia Barrino-Taylor, have been openly vocal about their experiences on set.

These actors have highlighted issues such as the lack of dressing rooms and the need for better working conditions. Winfrey, being one of the film’s producers, has played a crucial role in addressing these concerns and ensuring that the cast’s needs are met.

The cast acknowledged and appreciated her commitment to making things right. Winfrey continued with Entertainment Tonight:

“We as producers, everybody gets their salary everybody is negotiated by your team. And so, whenever I heard there was an issue or there was a problem…there was a problem with a car or the problem with their food, I would step in and do whatever I could to make it right. And I believe that she would even vouch for that and say that is true,” She then expressed, “There’s no validity to there being a thing between Taraji and I.”

Terrence Howard’s Reveal Of $12K ‘Hustle & Flow’ Salary Spotlights Hollywood Underpay

Terrence Howard, known for his roles in movies like Hustle and Flow and Iron Man, recently shed light on the issue of underpaid actors and actresses in Hollywood. The award-winning actor’s revelations have reignited discussions about fair compensation within the entertainment industry.

Howard Speaks On Low Pay

In a candid interview, Terrance Howard sat down with Alex Coleman on Live at 9 and talked about his pay for the movie Hustle and Flow. The Chicago native revealed the meager $12,000 he received for his breakthrough role in the film, wherein he also faced additional financial setbacks due to contractual issues.

This raises concerns about actors’ treatment and unions’ role in safeguarding their interests. Howard also disclosed that Paramount Pictures not only paid him a paltry sum but also took advantage of his performances by diverting the royalties to their own pockets.

This situation led Howard to pursue legal action against the studio to claim the royalties he believes he is owed. He stated:

“And then on top of that, what Paramount did, instead of putting my name as ‘Terrence Howard’ performing the songs, they put ‘performed by Djay.’ Well, they owned Djay, so guess what? The performance royalties went to Paramount. So now, I’ve got to sue Paramount, and send them a letter to say, ‘Hey, you guys owe me about 20 years’ worth of residuals and performance royalties.’ I was just trying to pay my rent then.”

Other Black Actors Who Were Undercompensated

Furthermore, Howard expressed his frustrations with the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), stating that the union failed to support him. Howard went on to express:

“I want to get rid of the agents, I want to get rid of the managers, I want to get rid of the unions. SAG has done nothing. They sit up and say they’re here for us now they’re talking because they haven’t gotten their money. When I went to SAG five years ago saying FOX stole my image from Hustle & Flow and they’re monetizing it, SAG didn’t do anything to help me. They waited nine months until the statute of limitations was up. They’re not here to help the actors, they’re here to make their money.”

The Empire star’s story is not an isolated incident. Other actors have also experienced underpayment in the industry:

Chris Tucker

In 2021, Chris Tucker spoke with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay in which he said:

“I .was only paid $10,000 for the part. It’s one of those things—it was just a small movie. We filmed it in 20 days. I got about $10,000 for it or whatever, I didn’t care. I wanted the opportunity.”

James Earl Jones

In addition, iconic actor James Earl Jones, renowned for his portrayal of Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, divulged that he received a mere $7,000 for his iconic role in the groundbreaking film.

Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson, Howard’s Hustle and Flow and Empire co-star, has also faced unequal compensation. The popular actress disclosed that she was paid $150,000 for her Oscar-nominated role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a fraction of what her white co-stars received.

This disparity in pay points to a systemic issue of racial discrimination and biases in the industry. She said:

“I’m not saying they shouldn’t have paid Cate and Brad what they deserved. They deserved that because when this comes out, people are coming because of Brad, and they’re going to discover me. I’m bringing a certain amount to the seat, too, and I felt like what I was asking at that time in my career was fair.”

Howard Retires From The Television Screen

In relevance to Terrance Howard’s acting ventures, in 2019, the Empire star saw his retirement coming sooner than later. The popular veteran actor had announced his intent to fall back from acting once his Fox series ended.

Mo’Nique Says ‘Give Us What We Rightfully Deserve’

The plight of underpaid actors and actresses extends beyond the big screen. Mo’Nique, alongside Countess Vaughn, and her husband, Sidney Hicks, advocated for fair compensation for their roles in the hit television series The Parkers. Their demands shed light on the ongoing struggle for equitable pay within the entertainment industry.

Increased Judgment

Blueface, the Los Angeles rapper known for his hit song “Thotiana,” is grappling with a mounting financial strain due to an unpaid judgment stemming from a shooting incident in Las Vegas. The judgment stemmed from a plea deal Blueface took for his involvement in a shooting incident in November 2022, and the nightclub owner who was affected has been vocal about his determination to collect the unpaid amount.

Euphoric’s owner slammed Blueface and his entourage with a passionate response at the time of the incident vowing to make him pay off the debt until “the day he leaves this earth.” With the judgment originally set at $13,072,482, the debts have accumulated interest, bringing the new total to a staggering $14,386,164.23.

Legal Woes Neverending?

Under a plea deal, the rapper had his charges reduced to battery and discharging a firearm at or into an occupied structure.

However, he was still ordered by the judge to pay over $12 million for the lost revenue of Euphoric Gentleman’s Club, where the shooting took place, as well as an additional $84,000 to cover lost wages for the venue’s employees.

Blueface Ordered To Pay $13 Million To Strip Club Owner After Las Vegas Shooting

Blueface finds himself entangled in a legal predicament stemming from a shooting incident outside a Las Vegas strip club. Following the episode, a Las Vegas judge has now ruled that the California rapper must pay a substantial $13 million in damages to the strip club owner. The lawsuit, which includes allegations of negligence and other charges, sheds light on the aftermath of the shooting, which left one individual injured.

Blueface Ordered To Pay Up

Blueface, known for hits like “Bleed It” and “Thotiana,” faced legal trouble after a shooting incident outside a strip club in Las Vegas.

The rapper was ordered by a judge to pay $13 million in damages to the strip club owner, who filed a lawsuit claiming negligence and other charges. The shooting, which took place at Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club on October 8, 2022, left one man injured and resulted in the revocation of the club’s licenses on October 14, 2022.

A Joke Gone Wrong?

Initially charged with attempted murder, Blueface struck a plea deal that lowered the charges to battery and discharging a firearm at or into an occupied structure. According to legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, the “Buss Down” rapper was sentenced to probation on October 2,  where the judgment in the civil case quickly followed, stating that “there are no genuine issues of material fact.”

The victim of the shooting stated that he recognized Blueface inside the club and had spoken to him earlier in the night. According to court documents, the victim made a joke about the rapper “speaking with some females in a cheap vehicle,” which reportedly led to an altercation and the subsequent shooting.

Blueface Gets Engaged

The strip club’s owner filed the lawsuit, claiming nuisance, indemnification and contribution, and declaratory relief. In an order issued by Judge Reynolds, Blueface was ordered to pay lost revenue amounting to $12.6 million, along with additional damages, totaling nearly $13.1 million.

While the news of Blueface’s legal troubles continues to make headlines, the rapper recently made another announcement – his engagement to Jaidyn Alexis, his high school sweetheart, who he also shares two kids with.

Blueface’s 24-60 Month Sentence For Las Vegas Shooting Suspended

Blueface was recently sentenced to 24-60 months in prison after a 2022 shooting incident in Las Vegas. The controversial rapper pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm and battery charges. However, the “Thotiana” rapper managed to dodge the full sentence.

Blueface’s Sentence Suspension

Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, has received a 24-60-month prison sentence in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Las Vegas in October 2022. Although, the Los Angeles rapper managed to avoid more severe charges.

The West Coast artist became entangled in legal difficulties due to a shooting incident outside a Las Vegas strip club, during which he fired a shot that grazed a man named Kentavious Traylor, causing injury to his hand. Blueface’s sentence is currently under suspension, indicating that should he maintain good conduct, his sentence will be reduced and deemed fulfilled.

However, any further criminal activity will result in the activation of his full sentence. In addition to the charges related to the shooting incident, Blueface also faced attempted murder and owning a gun by a prohibited person.

As part of a plea agreement, these charges were dismissed, narrowing down his final charges to discharging a firearm and battery.

The ‘Badu’ Curse

As part of Blueface’s sentencing, the California native has been placed on probation for three years, during which he is prohibited from possessing weapons, alcohol, or drugs. The rapper must also have no contact with the victim of the shooting incident.

This is not the first time that Blueface has faced legal issues. In June 2023, the rapper was arrested outside a Las Vegas courthouse on robbery charges. Additionally, he faced the wrath of legendary singer Erykah Badu, who allegedly placed a “JuJu” spell on him for mistreating and trolling his then-girlfriend, Chrisean Rock.

Blueface Arrested By Aggressive Undercover Cops For Attempted Murder + Chrisean Rock Sticks By Her Man

Blueface was arrested by undercover Las Vegas police officers for attempted murder. In a clip, the California native is seen getting slammed against a wall and thrown on the ground during his arrest.

Here’s What Happened

A fan parked in his car in a parking lot recorded Blueface and girlfriend, Chrisean Rock, sitting quietly on a public bench, scrolling through their phones. Suddenly, a fleet of men dressed in street clothes, later confirmed to be undercover police, attacked the California rapper.

As Blueface appeared to be minding his business, looking down at his phone, a man in a gray sweatshirt and jeans grabs him from behind and throws him against a concrete wall. A couple of other men dressed in similar attire also appear.

The men were so aggressive with the “Thotiana” rapper that it confused the fan, who then says, “they robbing him.” Unable to defend himself, the controversial rapper is dragged in various directions and eventually thrown to the ground.

It is also mentioned the undercover police on the scene had a warrant for his arrest. Blueface was reportedly arrested for gun possession in California in connection to a shooting that took place on October 8. The conviction follows his arrest in 2019 on similar charges with a loaded gun.

In addition, he also received a felony charge for attacking a nightclub bouncer in 2021.

Dazed + Confused

Witnesses, including his girlfriend Chrisean, were left dazed and confused. Another recording fan on the scene says, “ The cops just pulled up on em and they got him. I don’t know what the f*ck is going on.”

Still, the fan struggled to understand the context of the situation where he says, “they just got his ass and threw him down.”

Another man, frustrated, raises his voice in an attempt to understand what was taking place. He asked the police to explain the situation as a confused Chrisean is also heard in the background asking questions.

Chrisean Sticks By Her Man Behind Bars

Despite the serious charges against the California rapper, Chrisean Rock, who was also recently arrested on assault charges, is supporting her bae during his conviction process.

The reality star hopped on her Instagram to let fans know she’s sticking by her man and will appear for him in court.

In the last 24 hours, she also shared a series of tweets. In the first tweet she posted after the arrest, she says, “ugh why gotta take you from me.”

She then tweeted a video of the two heading to their hotel room in Vegas just three hours before the arrest

She later joked about twerking for the “Thotiana,” rapper while she visited him in jail and retweeted his mugshot.

There are no updates on what the arrest could mean for the couple’s upcoming reality show “Crazy in Love,” which was just released. The new controversial reality series lets fans into the intimate details of the couple’s complicated relationship.

While some fans were eager to watch the first season, there’s no telling what the arrest could mean for a second season.

Eric Bellinger & Kyle Dion Carry Our “R&B Season” Playlist Updates Into 2024: Stream

Welcome to our first R&B Season playlist update of 2024, which is understandably one of the slower ones we’ll probably do this year. Moreover, there wasn’t a ton of activity in the mainstream this week when it comes to more soulful releases to kick off this next set of 365 days. Still, that wasn’t really the case for strictly hip-hop artists this week. For example, Hit-Boy linked up his father Big Hit with The Game and produced their surprise collaborative mixtape, Paisley Dreams. While we only have two new tracks to highlight for this check-in, they are so quality that it feels like they aimed to compete among a stacked release schedule.

The first addition on our inaugural R&B Season playlist update for 2024 is the single “La Perla” [The Pearl] by Eric Bellinger, B HAM, and Corey Cooper. It’s a bright, sensual, breezy, and vocally passionate cut about lusting for a potential partner with as much commitment as possible. The “BNB” singer puts together a pretty steady progression with sharp drums, cloudy synth pads, and smooth harmonies. It’s by no means the most re-inventive cut on the market, but it’s an energizing and engaging way to start your soulful musical intake this year.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

In a more acoustic direction, our other R&B Season pick is “Hang Me Out to Dry” by Kyle Dion. This song is led by crisp guitar chords and embellishments, which match very nicely against the light percussive pattern, more harmonic displays, and synth and key licks and chords. Not only that, but the Sassy creative shows off his high register while retaining a lot of power and heft behind his voice, which is a tough balance to accomplish. It’s still pretty cold in many parts of the world, but don’t let that stop you from throwing this sunny song on.

Meanwhile, other rap highlights from this week include Erick The Architect’s excellent jazz-funk-rap jam with the one and only George Clinton, “Ezekiel’s Wheel.” If you want to check out more standouts from how MCs kicked off 2024, check out our Fire Emoji playlist with the link below. Also, don’t forget to check out our R&B Season playlist above and let us know which song you preferred– plus what we missed this week, as well. As always, stick around on HNHH for more great music releases around the clock.

ScarLip & NLE Choppa Open Our First “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update Of 2024: Stream

Welcome to 2024, and to sum up all the great opening releases this week from the best in hip-hop and beyond, we’ve got you covered with our first Fire Emoji playlist update of the year. Leading the way is the new remix of ScarLip’s “Blick” featuring NLE Choppa, an aggressive and Jersey club-inspired cut. With wild vocal delivery, a banging beat, and infectious piano lines, this will kick off the year with a bang. In addition, we also have The Game, Big Hit, and Hit-Boy’s surprise collab album, Paisley Dreams. Moreover, its title track is particularly skillful, and demonstrates a compelling balance of boisterous bars and reflective remarks.

Also on Fire Emoji this week is the new song from Pooh Shiesty, the menacing “Federal Contraband 2,” which actually dropped on Christmas Day last year. It still carries its lengthy energy over into 2024 with what sounds like a relentless verse from jail from the Memphis MC. Moving over to Michigan, we have Detroit rapper Veeze and Gallery Provence teaming up for a new record, “WORST.” It’s a punchline-heavy, rapid, and similar to Shiesty, non-stop performance with an ethereal but tough-as-nails beat.

Along the same high-tempo and bar-heavy vein, BLP KOSHER just released a new song, “Dreidel Bop.” The Florida native’s infectious charisma, creative wordplay, and slew of pop culture references makes this as fun as it is engaging to sit down and break down its verses. As for the best offering on Fire Emoji this week (in this writer’s opinion), Erick The Architect and the legendary George Clinton blessed us with “Ezekiel’s Wheel.” It’s a slow-burning but funky track with lyrical perseverance, woozy embellishments, and a dreamy and intoxicating sonic atmosphere.

Rounding out our update is Lil Tecca’s mellow and cavernous new single, “Down With Me.” Finally, we wanted to shout out Fredo Bang’s emotive and drowsily heart-ached “Come Thru.” Let us know in the comments section which of these Fire Emoji picks was your favorite– and what else we missed this week, too. YSL RICO Trial Day 14 & 15: Trontavious aka “Tick” Stephens Frustrates RICO Prosecutor Throughout Two-Day Marathon Testimony

Trontavious Stephens, a member of YSL and prosecutorial witness, took the stand for two days of testimony in the YSL RICO trial in Atlanta.  A “hostile witness,” Trontavious told the court he did not want to be there and that the hearing interrupted his new job driving trucks.  Throughout the testimony, which began the afternoon of Jan 3rd and continued throughout January 4th, Trontavious responded to a barrage of redundant questions by State prosecutor Adriane Love.

Trontavious Stephens “Can’t Recall” Names of Gang Members

Judge Glanville presided over the jury trial, fielding objections by defense witnesses for the six co-defendants including Jeffrey “Young Thug” Williams and Shannon Stilwell who is still recovering from a jailhouse stabbing on Dec 11th.

Fulton County Deputy DA Adriane Love began by asking Stephens about his upbringing on Cleveland Avenue and his gang affiliations. He admitted to being a member of The ROC Crew, which he asserted was a collective of young men whose affiliation was solely based upon the fact that they were all “raised on Cleveland Ave.”  Love attempted to have Stephens name those persons who were members of the crew, to which Stephens said was “everyone” from the community who grew up there.  Appearing bewildered by Love’s continual questioning, he stated anyone “raised on the street” would be considered a member and attempted to remember the names of his next-door neighbors.

Stephens was interrogated by Love continually for several hours during which time the 30-year-old repeatedly stated he didn’t remember many of the details of the activities of The Roc Crew, politely telling the relentless prosecutor, “It was 10-15 years ago, ma’am.” Throughout the two hours of testimony, Stephens, also known as “Tick,” appeared parched and sipped from a water bottle between objections from defense attorneys who complained that Love’s questions lacked relevance or were repetitive.

Prosecutor Presses Trontavious Stephens About YSL Blood Affiliation

Love’s questioning of Stephens resumed on the morning of January 4th with the discussion of the origins of YSL and its affiliations with the “national Blood Gang.” Stephens admitted to being a member of the YSL after he had been introduced to gang lifestyle “while in juvenile detention.”  Love then proceeded to ask Stephens to identify attributes of the blood gang including identifying hand gestures and defining what it meant to be “jumped in” or initiated by beating into the gang.  Stephens admitted he had never been “jumped in” and was therefore not a real member of the gang though he bore tattoos and claimed the “Sex Money Murder” blood set.

The questioning continued with state prosecutor pummeling Stephens tediously about the night of his birthday in 2015 when he went club hopping.  This was the same night that Lil Wayne’s tour bus was shot up after a performance at the Atlanta club, The Compound.  YSL member, Jimmy Winfrey, a.k.a. PeeWee Roscoe, was arrested and charged in the crime but the conviction was later overturned.

Stephens shared that he, Roscoe, and other members of YSL were out ”drinking, smoking and vibing” to celebrate and hit The Compound, among other clubs that night.   Love pressed Stephens to detail what was discussed in the rented black Mercedes on the 30-minute drive to the venue, to which Stephens said “I don’t recall.”  Love asked him why he didn’t remember what was discussed, which Stephens said was because the events were “over 10 years ago.”

Stephens was then asked about his criminal behavior as a member of YSL, the gang.  She asked him what colors were associated with YSL, to which he said “all colors.”  Love then questioned Trontavious about the meaning of the term “snitching.”  “It doesn’t mean anything to me,” he responded, “but I’m aware of the term” citing references in movies and pop culture.

Watch as Trontavious eludes answering the prosecutor’s question, “What is Snitching?”

YSL RICO Trial Day 13: Trontavius Stephens Testifies & Young Thug’s New Clothing Line

Day 13 of the YSL RICO Trial brought forth shocking revelations as Young Thug appeared in court, alongside Trontavius Stephens also known as “Slug,” who took the stand.

YSL RICO Trial Day 13

In a significant development, the YSL RICO Trial resumed on Day 13 after the holiday break, with Young Thug present in court.

The trial had been halted due to the stabbing of Thug’s co-defendant, Shannon Stillwell, while in jail. Stillwell miraculously survived four stab wounds and had been recovering in the hospital over the holidays.

Another notable event in the trial was the dismissal of an incident involving Young Thug and mall security at the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, where an ex-employee was called to testify on Day 12, as he alleged that Young Thug had “threatened to shoot him in the face.” The incident was deemed lacking corroboration and was consequently dropped from the proceedings.

According to Infamous Sylvia, explained that the incident took place in DeKalb County and a third witness was questioned. Witness #3 was revealed to be another officer, who he claimed to have “no knowledge” of the incident.

ROC Crew

During recent court proceedings, Trontavius Stephens, also known as Slug, provided a morning testimony regarding his affiliation with the ROC Crew, a local group from Cleveland Avenue in Atlanta. In questioning, Stephens was “elusive” and refrained from admitting any affiliation with YSL, despite admitting to being associated with the ROC Crew.

Furthermore, State Prosecutor Love inquired of Stephens about the leadership within the ROC Crew, aiming to characterize the group as a criminal enterprise. In response, Stephens asserted:

“There was no leader of the ROC Crew. No one told me what to do.”

Stephens had previously taken a plea agreement and agreed to repeat specific statements on the stand. His testimony shed light on the intricacies of gang affiliations, but he did not provide names that were relevant to the current RICO Trial case.

‘Act Normal’

As the trial continues, Young Thug, facing his legal battles, has taken the opportunity to launch a clothing line called Act Normal

Despite being behind bars, the rapper’s new venture has been teased on the brand’s Instagram account, displaying a logo accompanied by the message “Be the reason the world changes.” With an upcoming announcement on their website, fans eagerly await the official launch of Young Thug’s clothing line.

YSL RICO Trial Day 12: Young Thug’s Attorney Exposes Inconsistencies in Mall Cop Testimony

As week 4 of the YSL RICO Trial commenced, it took an unexpected turn as Young Thug’s attorney, revealed discrepancies in the testimony of a mall security guard who claimed that the rapper had threatened to “shoot him in the face.” The witness faced scrutiny as he failed to recall key details and denied writing a statement that bore his allegedly forged signature.

Witness #1 Speaks

During the cross-examination in the YSL RICO trial, Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel revealed discrepancies in the testimony of a mall security guard who claimed that the Atlanta rapper had threatened to “shoot him in the face.

These revelations bring into question the credibility of the security guard’s account and shed doubts on the validity of the charges against Young Thug. The witness, known as Witness #1, an ex-employee of Velour Security Services, was called to testify about an incident at the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta involving Young Thug and mall security.

He explained the mall’s hoverboard policy to two members of Thug’s entourage, emphasizing that they should not ride the hoverboards inside. Despite a conversation with his supervisor, the entourage continued to ride the hoverboards. Witness #1 escorted them outside the mall without any hostile encounters. However, he disputed the authenticity of a statement bearing his signature, adding to the mounting doubts surrounding the incident.

The White Jaguar

During the cross-examination by Attorney Steele, Witness #1’s testimony crumbled further. He clarified that the incident report was typed, not handwritten, and outlined the men’s refusal to comply with the security guards’ requests without displaying any rudeness or disrespect.

Notably, Witness #1 denied identifying anyone who had threatened his supervisor, casting doubt on the key allegation leveled against Young Thug.

The trial continued with Witness #2, a retired police officer, who responded to the threat call made by Witness #1’s supervisor. Attorney Steele focused on the events that transpired when Young Thug and his entourage were outside in a white Jaguar.

Terroristic Threats

Witness #2’s testimony did not corroborate the alleged threat made toward Witness #1’s supervisor, further undermining the prosecution’s case.

A discrepancy in the officer narrative report added to the confusion, with different versions listing different offenses. The third witness, Mr. Lennihan, a police sergeant, took the stand and confirmed that he investigated the “terroristic threats” allegedly made by Young Thug at the mall on July 7, 2015.

However, his testimony did not provide any substantial evidence linking Young Thug to the alleged threats. The inconsistencies in the witnesses’ accounts presented by Young Thug’s attorney raised significant doubts about the prosecution’s version of events.

YNW Melly Trial Postponed

In a separate legal development, YNW Melly’s retrial in a double murder case has been postponed to February 2024, following a request from prosecutors for more time to prepare. Broward Circuit Court Judge John Murphy granted the state an additional three weeks, rescheduling the opening arguments.

Ludacris Claps Back At Katt Williams’ Illuminati Claims with Fiery Freestyle

Katt Williams, Ludacris

Ludacris, the Atlanta rap legend is making headlines once again. He responded to comedian Katt Williams shocking allegations about him being a member of the Illuminati.

Crossroads

Ludacris took to his social media accounts on Jan. 4 to showcase his freestyling skills and shut down the claims made by Katt Williams.

The rapper/actor wasted no time in addressing Williams’ recent Jan. 3 Club Shay Shay podcast interview, where Williams claimed that Ludacris had made a deal with the Illuminati. According to Williams, the alleged deal involved Ludacris starring in 20 movies for a whopping $200 million.

“So there was a crossroads where we were both invited to an Illuminati thing, and it had to be one or the other of us and decisions had to be made,” Williams  said. “So it was both of us, we were equal. One of us had to cut off all their hair and couldn’t do the sideburn thing no more, with the points.”

He continued:

“And the next person they said was going to get $200 million because they were going to pay him $10 million a movie to do 20 movies. And that’s how the conversation happened. One of those persons turned out to be Ludacris, and the other person turned out to be Katt Williams.” Ludacris is a member of the Fast & Furious series, which has 10 movies.

Ludacris Responds

Katt Williams also took a shot at Luda for saying he “ended up with a light-skinned ugly-face wife.” Ludacris responded with a not-so-subliminal freestyle over Kanye West’s “Devil in a New Dress” beat.

In his response, Ludacris made it clear that he has never been associated with the Illuminati, stating, “Never been Illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati.” He also emphasized his commitment to his family, rapping:

“Now I’m married with kids, the evolution of life.” Ludacris effortlessly shut down any notion of him being a clout-chaser, asserting, “Never been a clout-chaser, never say sh*t for likes.”

But Ludacris didn’t stop there. He also took a dig at Williams over his alleged drug use. Referencing the late director John Singleton, Ludacris rapped:

“R.I.P. John Singleton, you never have to flex when you earned every one of your ‘Fast & Furious’ checks. Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.” It was a direct hit aimed at Williams’ personal struggles.

Users on Twitter (X) reacted to Ludacris’ freestyle. One user named @MrJeromeTrammel commented, “ Luda you ate this rap up, but we STILL believe Katt Williams,” and one other user named @JoshyBeSloshy used a GIF that said “Nah that ain’t it y’all.”

Katt Williams has not publicly responded directly to Ludacris’s freestyle at this time.

The Infamous Interview

The animosity between Hart and Williams stems from an interview Williams gave on the Club Shay Shay podcast, released on January 3.

Katt Williams Calls Out Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart & More In Fiery Interview

Katt Williams has unleashed a blistering attack on his fellow comedic legends. During a recent interview, the legendary comedian called out Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart, and Rickey Smiley

Can’t Take A Joke

In an interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast released on Jan. 3, Williams vented about Cedric The Entertainer stealing one of his jokes from the past.

According to Williams, Cedric believed he could get away with it since Williams was a relatively unknown comedian at the time.

“He thought that I was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know. The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well… that they made it part of the commercial,” Williams said.

Williams added:

“This is not just a random joke, this is my best joke…it’s my closing joke. 1998, I’m doing this joke…Cedric comes to The Comedy Store, he watches me in the audience, he comes backstage, he tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on The [Original] Kings Of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he just changed my car into a spaceship.”

WIlliams was referencing the comedy special movie, The Original Kings of Comedy. Williams also took a shot at Cedric by saying he looks like a walrus.

Cedric The Entertainer Responds

Cedric The Entertainer later responded to Williams on Instagram:

“Revisionist history, regardless of whatever Katts opinion My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his, I been [in] over 40 movies, my specials and brand speaks volumes for [who] i am. The ppl I have put on including ‘Kat in the Hat’ At the Gibson Amphitheatre. And all that tough talk Is corny af Im [a] grown ass man. And none of that sh*t gonna go like you think. You do you and I got this over here.”

Katt Williams additionally called out Steve Harvey, Cedric’s co-star in The Original Kings of Comedy, accusing him of being involved in the joke Cedric allegedly stole. Williams claimed that the shared joke, originally crafted with comedian Mark Curry, was also appropriated by Harvey:

“This is the same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had. Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wear a suit.” The sitcom in question was The Steve Harvey Show and Curry’s Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper

Users on Twitter (X) reacted to Williams’ explosive interview. One user named @Teewhyfene commented “Katt Williams a legend and I’m happy he gets to get his truth heard,” and one other user named @Thats_wildddd commented, “He damn sure aint lyin Cedric never ever been funny to me and really just rode off the coat tails of all the other comedians in that “kings of comedy.”

Katt Williams Calls Out Rickey Smiley

Additionally, Williams targeted Rickey Smiley, debunking Smiley’s claims that he was originally cast as Money Mike in the movie Friday After Next. Williams accused Smiley of lying and mockingly criticized his acting skills. Williams questioned why Smiley had not been offered significant movie roles in recent years, stating:

“Rickey Smiley can’t act because Rickey Smiley can’t act.”

Unsurprisingly, Kevin Hart also found himself in Williams’ line of fire. Williams referred to Hart as an “industry plant,” insinuating that Hart’s rise to fame lacked the long underground career typically associated with successful comedians.

“In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show and being in line for him getting a standing ovation at any comedy club. What do you think a plant is?”

Williams said as he raised his voice. Williams also said that he is tired of the narrative of him being “bitter and jealous” during his comedy hiatus.

The full interview is now available on YouTube.

Stay Warm

In other news about Cedric The Entertainer, he recently teamed up with Houston rapper Trae The Truth by delivering blankets, jackets, and coats to the homeless shortly before New Year’s Day. Local media was there to capture the kind gesture from Trae and Cedric.

Kanye Says Cardi B Is An ‘Industry Plant’

One other celebrity that called fellow celebrities out was rap star Kanye West. In a leaked video from 2018, Kanye called out rapper Cardi B and said that she was an industry plant. He was also frustrated with producing songs for Pusha T, Nas, and Teyana Taylor as well as others and not being appreciated.
