Monica Responds To Hate For Attending CMT Awards With Classy Clapback: ‘Welcome To Wakanda’
A few weeks ago, a white reporter complained about Black artists at the CMT awards show.
“There were so many Black people there,” Patrick Howley said. “Sorry to say, but so many Black celebrities who have nothing to do with country music and it’s, like, why?”
“No disrespect to the funky brothers,” he continued. “I love Earth Wind and Fire, Run DMC, etc. But country music’s different… It’s not Wakanda.”
He also criticized Anthony Mackie for hosting. “I don’t know who this Black guy who’s hosting it. It’s supposed to be country music. No offense. I mean, y’all have hip-hop and basketball… Just fly with your flock, bro.”
In a classy clapback, r&b legend Monica reposted The Source’s story on her Instagram page and responded to critics.

SOURCE SPORTS: Zach Lavine Enters NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols, May Miss Game 5
The Chicago Bulls may be down their star guard as they attempt to hold off playoff elimination in Game 5 against the Milwaukee Bucks. According to ESPN, Zach Lavine is questionable for the game as he has entered NBA’s health and safety protocols. The protocols signal Lavine has come in contact with someone who has or is infected with COVID-19.
Bulls coach Billy Donovan told the media that Lavine was not feeling his best and would not travel to the game. He would undergo more testing.
“I mean, it sucks,” DeMar DeRozan said. “Before basketball, more than anything, health-wise, it just sucks. … First and foremost is for him, and second of all, us not having him. Him missing a full opportunity of playing in a playoff series.”
DeRozan added, “”He was more frustrated than anything, honestly.”
The Bulls may also be without Alex Caruso who entered concussion protocols after a blow to the head by Javon Carter in the first half of Game 4. Bulls and Bucks tip-off on Wednesday on TNT.

50 Cent Shows Support To Coi Leray After First Week Album Sales
If 50 Cent says, he got you, better believe it. The music and film mogul recently defended his Shady label boss Eminem after Jay-Z addressed the Real Slim Shady as “the white boy.” 50 responded by saying Jay-Z is trying to look like a “gay painter,” as Hov’s look is similar to the legendary late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Now Curtis Jackson is defending another artist in the Hip-Hop community, his rival Benzino’s daughter Coi Leray. 50 and Benzino have been feuding for a while now, but that didn’t stop 50 from backing his daughter. Coi Leray has been the butt of a social media joke since arriving in the rap game. After she dropped her Trendsetter album, the anecdotes kept coming. She became even more of a victim of internet bullying when fans learned that she reportedly sold only 11 thousand copies in her first week.
50 Cent has heard enough of it and has stepped in. Not even mentioning Benzion’s name, 50 took it to social media to warn fans about the Coi Leray hate. Despite selling only 11k on her first week, 50 still thinks Coi Leray is a star and wants to bring her to a t.v near you.

Since taking over the cable television industry, 50 has been breeding stars or revitalizing careers. He made Big Meech’s son Lil Meech a star for his acting in BMF, and he even cast Jeremih in Power Book IV: Force.

[WATCH] Pretty Lou’s 4th Annual Cancer Research Charity Concert Feat. Fat Joe, Capella Grey, Dream Doll Brings New Life To Irving Plaza
On Wednesday, April 20th, HOT 97’s Heavy Hitter, DJ Pretty Lou celebrated his 4th annual birthday and benefit concert for cancer research at Irving Plaza in New York City.
Performances included a soulful set by Suzann Christine, energy-charged sets by CJ and King Bulova, B-Lovee gave a birthday shout-out to Kay Flock during his set. J.I. the Prince of NY performed some of his fans’ favorite hits. Dream Doll and Capella Grey performed “You Know My Body.” Additional performances included Nemz, Baby Boy Slimee, Soribel, Lito, Deon Young, Rowdy Rebel, and Black Goon.
Fat Joe, who has been a close support system throughout Lou’s seven-year battle with Leukemia, returned to the plaza to close out the show, performing classics and newer hits. Joe stated, “Whatever was donated in the event, I’ll double it.”
During an intermission, Lou stated that the night was dedicated to his mother as he revealed that she is battling lung cancer. He explained to the audience that he almost canceled the concert due to the news, but his mother said, “No amigo, the concert goes on.” Before the show, he told her, “If I fought and won, I need you to win too.”
The concert was hosted by HOT 97’s Mia Belle and Power 105.1 FM‘s Len Boogz. Notable attendees included Hot 97’s DJ Enuff, Hot 97’s DJ Camilo, DJ E. Stylez, Sexxy Stace Face, Maserati Maine, Gorilla Nems, Iman Nunez, Prince Lawrence, Marty Fresh, 5ive Mics, and more. Sponsors included Color Works and Bell Mistubishi.
The proceeds of this year’s event went directly to the Hebert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, which treated Pretty Lou. Premium boutique and lifestyle brand, Extra Butter donated an additional four thousand dollars to the charity event.

T-Pain Calls Out Dallas Fans for Low Ticket Sales
T-Pain has had the streets singing his songs since 2005. With the release of songs such as “I’m Sprung,” “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper),” “Can’t Believe It,” and more, there’s no doubt that the singer will always be loved in the music industry……unless you are from Dallas.
Just jokes! However, the “Bartender” rapper recently called out his fans in Dallas after reviewing the sales for his ongoing tour, where he noticed the percentage was really low for his show in Dallas.
“On the tour we do a weekly tour update kind of thing, you know, and we send out this little spreadsheet of the percentages of tickets we’ve sold in each city,” T-Pain told fans on TikTok. “I got to tell you, man, there’s only one question: ‘What the fuck, Dallas?’”
“Dallas, what are you doing?! Y’all don’t fuck with me?! What did I do! Let me know what I did! What’s going on?!” he added as the percentage number reads 26%. “I wore cowboy hats many times! I used to raise horses! I feel like I’m part of the city! I’ve worn a cowboy hat or two…regular cowboys and Dallas Cowboys!”
“DALLAS GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!!!!! BUFFALLO YOURE NEXT!!!!” the rapper wrote as Buffalo can be seen with 39% ticket sales.

Travis Scott Reportedly Set to Release New Single with Future on Friday
Travis Scott has slowly been musically recovering since the tragedy at his 2021 Astroworld Festival. Since then, he’s launched Project HEAL and has made a few appearances. Over the weekend, although he didn’t take the stage at Coachella, he did perform at the Revolve x Bootsy Bellows After Party.

Recently, Benzino and his daughter, rising Hip-Hop star Coi Leray, have been engaged in an online back and forth. Benzino is accused of ruining his daughter Coi Leray’s album release day by texting her and threatening her mother. Benzino was furious with his daughter after she revealed in an interview with The Breakfast Club he became broke after he lost The Source. Benzino was irritated by his daughter’s remarks about the ‘dinosaur’ generation. She teased Charlamagne about his crush on Pusha T, and Benzino tweeted that legends deserve more respect from the next generation.
Benzino keeps it cordial with his daughter Coi in the new single, simply stating that the love will stand regardless of current happenings in their relationship. That feeling is not the same for 50 Cent.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Spotted Together in Barbados amidst cheating rumors
Following a week of cheating and breakup rumors, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky appear to still be very much together if photos from their weekend trip to Barbados are any indication of their relationship status.
Photos of the couple, obtained by TMZ, show the hip-hop megastars (who are expecting their first child together) holding hands as they arrived at the Barbados airport. (Rihanna is a native of the island nation.) The Daily Mail shared photos of the couple heading out to dinner later that night, a pregnant Rihanna in a black minidress and Rocky sporting a more casual look of jeans and a t-shirt.
The photographs come following a week of rumors that the couple, who have been dating since 2020, were either broken up or on the rocks following allegations that Rocky cheated on Rihanna with Fendi designer Amina Muaddi.
Muaddi addressed the unfounded rumors on her Instagram Story on Friday, writing: “I’ve always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media doesn’t deserve any response or clarification, especially one that is so vile. I initially assumed that this fake gossip — fabricated with such malicious intent — would not be taken seriously. However in the last 24h I’ve been reminded that we live in a society that is so quick to speak on topics regardless of factual basis and that nothing is off limits. Not even during what should be one of the most beautiful and celebrated times in one’s life. Therefore I have to speak up as this is not only directed towards me but it is related to people I have a great amount of respect and affection for.”
For now, the couple appears to be very much together and expecting the birth of their first child together any day now.
