Kanye West’s ‘Friends Wasn’t Funny’ Tweet Got A Slick Reaction From A ‘Friends’ Cast Member

For a big chunk of 2022, Kanye West has apparently been on the warpath, putting up a new Instagram post seemingly every hour lashing out at everyone from Pete Davidson to Adidas’ upper management. Longtime observers know this is nothing new; the only thing that’s changed is the format. Two years ago, it was Twitter that got the bulk of Kanye’s fury, but in a recent post on Instagram, he’s now denying one of his most viral tweets ever.

In 2020, Kanye was running for presidentsorta — and after actress Jennifer Anniston pled with followers not to vote for him as a joke, he apparently retaliated with the one-liner to end all one-liners. “It’s not funny to vote for Kanye,” Anniston wrote in an Instagram caption. “Friends wasn’t funny either,” Kanye shot back.

On Monday, though, in the midst of a tirade against Adidas Senior VP Daniel Cherry, Kanye took a break from needling his self-appointed rival for Adidas’ soon-to-be-vacated CEO spot to clear the air about a fake viral post of his which accused Kim Kardashian of “having diarrhea a lot.” “This was not from me,” he insisted. “Someone copied my style of text and wrote something not funny.” Which I’m sure came as a relief to the Kardashian crew, what with all the other inane, childish accusations he’s made over the past few years.

But since he was already on a roll, he further admitted that he didn’t actually write the “Friends wasn’t funny” tweet — but he wishes he had.

This time, the post caught the eye of another Friends member, Courteney Cox, who posted her own slick response on Instagram. In the caption, she wrote, “I bet the old Kayne thought Friends was funny,” while in the video, she looks devastated by the new Kanye’s opinion on the fan-favorite ’90s artifact. Vince Staples Teams Up With Netflix For A Scripted Show About His Life

A few years back, Vince Staples teased something called The Vince Staples Show, which apparently turned out to be a pair of short films showcasing a pair of singles, “So What?” and “Sheet Music.” Fans thought there’d be a musical project attached — or perhaps even an actual show, considering Vince’s interest in pivoting to acting — but none materialized, although the episodes eventually appeared on a website along with a ton of other Staples video content.

However, a feature on Staples in Los Angeles Times earlier this year noted that The Vince Staples Show had since moved to Netflix, suggesting that the early shorts had been something of a proof-of-concept, and that the show was in the early stages of production. Vince was quoted saying, “We’re working on it. Hopefully, we can make something great, then put it out when the time is right.”

Well, it appears that the time is, indeed, right now, as Deadline reports that Netflix has officially announced the show, which will be a scripted comedy loosely based on Vince’s real life. It’ll be co-produced by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, How to Make It in America and The After Party writer/director Ian Edelman, Maurice Williams (who has experience writing TV with rappers as a writer on Kid Cudi’s Entergalactic), Los Angeles director Calmatic, and Vince’s manager Corey Smith.

Lil Nas X Wants To ‘Smash’ Roger The ‘American Dad’ Alien

Lil Nas X has a new apple of his eye (or perhaps an existing one that he now has the opportunity to publicly yearn for): Roger, the wise-cracking alien from long-running animated series American Dad.

Yesterday, a post from the perspective of Roger shared on the American Dad Twitter and Instagram accounts read, “Save a horse, ride the guy who wrote Old Town Road or however the song goes. [cowboy emoji] Who else is planning their perfect fit for #Montero? #AmericanDad.” That captioned an image of Roger holding a Lil Nas X concert ticket and admiring a poster of the shirtless rapper.

Nas shared that and wrote, “i’ve finally peaked in life. i’m tryna bring roger backstage ngl [drooling emoji].” On the Instagram post, he wrote in three separate comments, “oh my god [crying emoji] [hearts emoji],” “pleaseeeee,” and, “roger please let me smash.”

Now is a great time for American Dad to be receiving this sort of attention, as yesterday (September 5), it just returned with its first new episode since March. The show, which debuted in 2005, is one of the longest-running scripted prime time television series in US history; The latest episode is the series’ 330th.

As for the Long Live Montero Tour, that kicks off tonight (September 6), so check out the dates here.

Megan Thee Stallion Had ‘A Blast’ Twerking On ‘She-Hulk: Attorney At Law’

Last Thursday (September 1), Megan Thee Stallion made her much-discussed debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by popping up in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. The most noteworthy part of her appearance came in a mid-credits scene, when she hired Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk to be her lawyer. The two celebrated by dancing in Walters’ office, a moment that saw the two of them twerk together.

After the episode debuted, Meg took to Instagram to share her thoughts on what it was like to film the show. She had a terrific time, as she wrote, “Likeee thee hot girl coach is now in thee marvel universe [green heart emojis] ive been holding this in for so long im glad the hotties finally get to see it !!! Shooting this was a BLAST thank you @shehulkofficial @marvel for asking me to be apart. Im gonna manifest I get to do moreeeeee.”

She-Hulk head writer and executive producer Jessica Gao recently said about how Megan came to appear on the show, “We knew that for that story, we needed a famous, beautiful, successful woman… We were going through all the possibilities… but when it came down to it, Jameela [Jamil, who plays Titania] knew Megan from working on [HBO Max’s] Legendary together, and she brought her up. We were like, ‘Don’t say it if it’s not really true! Don’t tease us with this!’”

The Behind The Scenes Pics Of Megan Thee Stallion Twerking With She-Hulk Are Even Better Than The Original

As if the new She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Marvel Comic Universe show needed any more attention, Megan Thee Stallion made a cameo on the show this past week. And of course, the rap universe’s most prominent twerker was twerking on the show…with She-Hulk.

The scene happens in the middle of the end credits to the episode titled “The People vs. Emil Blonsky.” Without giving too much away in the form of spoilers, Meg and She-Hulk (played by Tatiana Maslany) celebrate a victory of sorts with a celebratory twerk. “You are way more fun than my last lawyer!” Meg says, to which She-Hulk responds, “I will kill for you, Megan Thee Stallion,” before Meg takes a half step back and says “Dial it back.” It’s solid comedy that plays into the world of Megan Thee Stallion like a charm. Now the behind-the-scenes photos that actress Jameela Jamil (who plays Titania on the show) shared on Twitter, show an even wilder side of She-Hulk, but with a very different look.

“THE GREATEST BTS PICS OF A MARVEL SHOW DON’T EXI-,” Jamil (who took credit for roping Megan Thee Stallion onto the show) tweeted. The photos show Maslany in a full VFX costume, flashing even raunchier moves than what ended up on the show.

Ahhh…the magic of post-production. Meanwhile, Marvel die-hards on the internet are blowing up Jamil’s replies in disgust. So it goes…

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, And Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Performance Wins Three Emmys

Last night, the Television Academy announced that this year’s Super Bowl halftime performance, which took place this past February and featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, And Kendrick Lamar, had won three Creative Arts Emmy awards.

On social media, the Academy revealed that the performance won the awards for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, and Outstanding Music Direction.

This year’s Super Bowl was an iconic moment for hip-hop, largely for West Coast hip-hop. In a July interview with Apple Music 1, Blige sat down to reflect on the monumental performance.

“I don’t even have the words to explain how full and how huge of an accomplishment that was,” Blige said. “I just felt so strong. And I felt like, first of all, grateful to have been asked, but I definitely felt like I earned that moment,” Blige remarked. “So when it was my turn, I just showed the world who I was. If you’d never seen me or you never met me or you never went to any of my shows, you know exactly who I am after the Super Bowl. I just couldn’t wait to hit the Mary bopping. I just couldn’t wait to just be myself and do what I do in front of that audience. That was the world, that was a big deal. I was so grateful.”

The ‘Rap Sh!t’ Soundtrack Is Packed With Female Rap Talent Including Dreezy, Jean Deaux, And The Show’s Stars

Issa Rae’s latest HBO fan favorite, Rap Sh!t, is has wrapped up its first season, but before it says goodbye for the foreseeable future, the show’s creators drop off one last gift: The show’s girl power-fueled soundtrack, which features strip club anthems and trappy turn-up songs from the likes of Dreezy, Jean Deaux, Tokyo Jetz, and more — including the show’s stars Aida Osman and KaMillion, in character as Shawna & Mia. And yes, the signature track “Seduce & Scheme” is here, too, as well as the cheeky track “Tongue” by the show’s viral marketing ploy, Reina Reign.

In her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers to promote the show, Issa explained how the show’s anchoring musical landscape was created. Wanting to make the show sound as authentic as possible, she made sure artists like Dreezy and her own Raedio artist NCognita were in the writer’s room, helping to write not just Shawna and Mia’s music but to also compose the whole soundscape of the show’s Miami.

Co-executive produced by Miami natives City Girls, the show follows the exploits of former high school girlfriends, Shawna and Mia, as they reunite and form a rap duo. When their first song goes viral, they decide to ride the wave of its success while trying to navigate the pitfalls of fame, friendship, and the fallout of their pre-rap efforts to make money. The full first season is available to stream on HBO Max.

Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears Sued For Alleged Child Sexual Abuse

tiffany haddish aries spears sued

Comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are being sued for allegedly grooming two children.  A lawsuit filed against the two from a 22-year-old woman, Jane Doe claims they groomed the two siblings.

The filing alleges child sexual abuse when the 14-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, were convinced into performing sexual acts for comedy skits that were video taped.

The John Doe in the suit also claims Spears and Haddish molested him while filming a “Funny or Die” video titled “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes.” In the sketch, Haddish allegedly played the boy’s mother and Spears portrayed a pedophile.

Haddish’s attorney says the lawsuit is nothing more than an extortion attempt, and that the plaintiffs have been trying to assert the claims for years.

According to the New York Post, the attorney for Spears, said the comedian “isn’t going to fall for any shakedown.”

Funny or Die said it immediately removed the video after it became aware of it. “We were not involved with the conceptualization, development, funding, or production of this video. The platform said they viewed the video “absolutely disgusting and would never produce such content,” according to TMZ.
