Young Thug Co-Defendant Severed From YSL RICO After He’s Diagnosed With Schizophrenia

One of Young Thug’s defendants in the YSL RICO case will be tried separately after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jayden Myrick has been severed from the case after a mental evaluation that determined he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Myrick reportedly informed the judge that he hadn’t taken his psychiatric medication since December. Ultimately, Fulton County Judge Ural Glanville decided it would be best if Myrick would be tried separately. “I think severance would be appropriate at this point in time,” Judge Glanville ruled.

The decision comes shortly after Myrick told the court that he wanted to represent himself. In his bid, he claimed that President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump would help him in court. “I’m not the regular inmate. I be with Joe Biden and Donald Trump and they be talking to me,” Myrick said during the hearing. “Donald Trump is going to get me out.” Ultimately, this claim prompted Judge Ural Glanville to ask Myrick to undergo a mental evaluation.

Myrick’s facing some serious charges related to the YSL indictment. Prosecutors charged him with attempted murder and possession of a weapon by an incarcerated individual. Additionally, he faces charges of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and participation in criminal street gang activity. He’s previously faced accusations of stabbing YFN Lucci in prison in Feb. ‘22, a crime which prosecutors claim Young Thug green-lit. Myrick was also convicted to a life sentence in October for the murder of Christian Broder.

Meanwhile, Young Thug continues to try and get bond in his case. His attorney Brian Steel filed a fourth motion for Thug’s release, claiming that the trial has impacted the rapper’s health negatively. Steel said Thug wakes up between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. each day for court while returning back to jail at late hours, leaving him “sleep deprived.” At this point, it’s unclear if the judge will grant Thug’s bond, especially after denying him three times in the past. The judge previously ruled that Thug is a flight risk. We’ll keep you posted on any more developments in Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial.

YSL RICO Public Defender Contemplates Starting OnlyFans Due To Pay Struggles

Though it officially began several months ago, little headway has been made in regards to the YSL RICO trial. Some of the defendants, including Gunna, previously accepted plea deals allowing them to return to freedom. Others, like Young Thug, remain behind bars. Just last month, the “Day Before” artist filed for his fourth attempt at bond. The first three had already been rejected before proceedings even began. Thugger’s fans have been expressing their sympathy for the embattled artist and his situation. However, it seems the public defenders working on the YSL case are the ones who could really use some support.

Attorney Justin Hill spoke candidly about the low wages he’s received for his work with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He reportedly signed on to the case for little more than $7K. Now, he’s looking at bringing home $15K when all is said and done. Despite the fact that his income has more than doubled, the lawyer believes he could make more from working at a fast food joint, seeing as the YSL trial may potentially take years to complete.

YSL Attorneys Consider Working at Chick-fil-A or on OnlyFans

“For at least a year’s worth of full-time work, that’s essentially less than minimum wage,” he vented to the outlet. “To be honest, I could make more money working at Chick-fil-A as a cashier,” Hill added. Still, he has no plans to walk away from Young Thug and the other YSL defendants. “I don’t think any of us want to come off this case. We just need to be adequately compensated,” he reasonably explained. Elsewhere, another attorney named Angela D’Williams spoke with WSB-TV about her situation, which has her contemplating turning to selling adult content.

“This case is slated to last for about a year, and if you were to do the math, it would be six dollars an hour,” she explained. “I can’t take any new cases, I can’t close any cases. I need something to survive off of. We were under the impression that GPDC was advocating for us, and once they put those walls up, I’m thinking I need to start an OnlyFans.” Williams apparently submitted. request for additional funds in March, and later heard back from the director cancelling their meeting. As Bossip notes, a spokesperson for the Georgia Public Defender Council told WSB-TV that they’re currently “working to find [more money]” for lawyers being impacted. Tory Lanez Calls For A “Fair Trial” During New Phone Call From Prison

Tory Lanez shared a new phone call from prison on Instagram, Tuesday. During the clip, he criticizes the DNA evidence that the prosecution used to put him behind bars. He says that thorough testing of the weapon used to shoot Megan Thee Stallion should have exonerated him from the crime. The post comes after Lanez’s lawyer, Jose Baez, teased that his client will be releasing information about the DNA testing used in the trial, earlier this week.

“@gasconforlada PLEASE put an end to this INJUSTICE…,” Lanez captioned the phone call video. “Many BLACK AND HISPANIC MINORITIES are falling victim to these same OUTRAGEOUS and DISGUSTING TRICKS and TACTICS. Someone NEEDS to stand up for US! Everyone PLEASE PRAY that the Honourable Judge David Herriford returns me to FREEDOM and a FAIR trial.”

Bobby Shmurda commented on Lanez’s post, revealing that he dealt with similar issues with his own trial. “Alex Spyro was my lawyer send me upstate for 7 years for my first gun charge first felony I was convicted of,” he wrote. “I was sentenced to the max after having to pay him over $100,000.” Shmurda was convicted on charges of conspiracy to murder, and weapons possession, as well as reckless endangerment, and sentenced to seven years in prison. He regained his freedom following six years in prison in February 2021.

Jose Baez is currently representing Tory Lanez. He wrote in an Instagram Story post, earlier this week: “Today is national DNA day and we are happy to announce that Tory Lanez will be releasing information about the DNA in his case that gave false and misleading information to his jury #freetorylanez.” A jury found Lanez guilty of three charges regarding the shooting back in December 2022. The charges against him include assault with a semi-automatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He is currently in prison and awaiting sentencing while facing up to 22 years in prison.

Michael Jackson’s Mother To Testify In Estate Trial

It has been more than a decade since Michael Jackson passed away unexpectedly. People are still arguing over his estate. Now, his mother, Katherine Jackson, is going to bat to protect his music. Back In February, there were rumors about a potential deal to sell half of the Michael’s music catalog for over $800 million. After reviewing the proposal, Katherine opposed the request and asked the courts to reject it. However, the estate’s executors responded by highlighting the fact that the estate was struggling financially before they took over. They said that Michael Jackson was deeply in debt at the time of his passing.

Michael Jackson, more often known as the King of Pop, died unexpectedly on June 25, 2009, at 50 years old. His passing was a shock to the world, as he was an influential figure in entertainment. Michael transformed the music industry with his innovative style and groundbreaking performances. The official cause of Jackson’s death was determined to be acute propofol and benzodiazepine poisoning. Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael’s doctor, administered both of the medications. The loss of a pop icon caused devastation to fans worldwide. Still, they continue to remember his contributions to music and dance. Michael’s legacy and contributions to art cannot be understated.

Protecting Michael’s Legacy

According to a report from Radar Online, Katherine Jackson is scheduled to testify in a trail regarding the late pop star’s estate. She will provide evidence against John Branca and John McClain. Since his death in 2009, the pair have served as the administrators and executors of Michael Jackson’s estate. According to the report, Jackson’s will designates his three children – Prince, Paris, and Blanket Jackson – as the beneficiaries of his estate. Additionally, it provides for the ongoing care of his mother for the remainder of her life.

“The Estate was… on the verge of collapse, with more than $400 million in debt that encumbered Michael’s most significant assets and little or no liquidity or means to service that debt,” the estate’s executors said. “Through creative thinking, hard work and business savvy—and, of course, Michael’s extraordinary creative legacy—the Executors transformed the MJJ Business into a profitable enterprise.” It seems like the two parties are in a standoff. Michael’s mother clearly stands to benefit from selling part of his catalogue; however, she is making it clear that that isn’t what she wants. What do you think should be done? Let us know in the comments!

Young Dolph Murder Suspect Gets New Lawyer Mid-Trial

The man accused of putting out a hit out on Young Dolph is reportedly getting a new lawyer in the middle of his trial. Moreover, AllHipHop reports that Hernandez Govan showed up to court without his lawyer William Massey and therefore without representation, according to WREG. Furthermore, Masey represented Govan for almost half a year before this incident seemed to throw a wrench into things. Lee Coffee, the presiding judge, stated that his absence suggested “that some sort of conflict had arisen.  I don’t know the nature of it.” Still, it seems like the court found a quick, albeit imperfect solution.

After this occurred in the trial of Young Dolph’s murder, the court appointed attorney Manny Arora to represent Govan. However, he was not in the courtroom given that he is licensed to work in Tennessee, not where the case is located. To sidestep this, local lawyer Handel Durham Jr. will take over in-person counsel. Meanwhile, prosecutors said the new team will have to “get up to speed” to not delay or obstruct the case any further. Also, prosecutor Paul Hagerman added that “he may already be up to speed and he has all of the discovery.”

Young Dolph Murder Suspect’s Lawyer Seemingly Abandons Him

To elaborate, Govan allegedly hired Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith to target Young Dolph, and now faces conspiracy charges for first-degree murder. Unfortunately, law enforcement either doesn’t know or hasn’t revealed the motivation for the tragic attack. Aside from the trial, the hip-hop world and the community at large continue to honor the Memphis MC and preserve his legacy. For example, a pop-up museum commemorating his memory recently hit various U.S. cities.

Also, Key Glock recently reflected on signing with the “100 Shots” rapper in an Esquire interview. “It really just happened out of the blue,” he remarked “It wasn’t even a plan. I got into some trouble. I got incarcerated. And then close to the time for me to come home, my auntie was married to Young Dolph’s uncle. She told him, ‘You know, Key doing his thing… He just reached out to me and it went from there. They always let me do me, let me be me. No matter what it was. Music or just everything in life. From my first song, I just had so much confidence in myself. I don’t know if they were gassing me up or not, but to me, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, this song hard.’” For the latest on Young Dolph, stay posted on HNHH.

Pras Testifies In His Own Federal Trial

Pras took the stand in his own federal trial on Tuesday, during which he discussed his relationship with Malaysian financier Jho Low. In doing so, he revealed that he worked as an FBI informant in China’s efforts to extradite billionaire Guo Wengui.

Pras explained that he made the decision to testify, an unusual move by a defendant, “after consulting with my attorneys and the universe.” In addition to covering Guo Wengiu, Pras says that he also discussed three Americans that China was holding hostage with the FBI. “I took it upon myself to report because I thought the FBI should know,” he said.

Pras Arrives At Court

As for his relationship with Jho Low, Pras told jurors he served as his “celebrity surrogate.” He added that Low paid him $20 million to get him a photo with former President Barrack Obama in 2012. “They didn’t want the optics at that time,” Pras said. “At that point, Jho Low was a party guy — Vegas, champagne, parties with Paris Hilton. The campaign just didn’t want that.”

While Pras claims that all of his actions were by the book, the prosecution alleges the Fugees rapper was paid hundreds of millions of embezzled Malaysian dollars to run a foreign-influence campaign against the U.S. government. “The defendant needed money and was willing to do anything to get it, including being an agent of the Chinese government,” prosecutor Nicole Lockhart said. “The defendant wanted money and was willing to break any laws necessary to get paid.”

Pras says that he never made any political donations on Low’s behalf and he only ever used his own money. He also says he ran everything he did by his lawyers to ensure he was doing everything correctly. Pras has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of conspiracy and falsifying records. He faces 22 years in prison if convicted.

Lawyers In Young Thug’s YSL RICO Case Threatened With Contempt Over “Professionalism”

Judge Ural Glanville got into it with attorneys Anastassios Manettas and Eric R. Johnson, who are representing Miles Farley and Christian Eppinger in the ongoing YSL RICO case involving Young Thug. Glanville threatened them with jail time for contempt of court after Manettas refused to buy lunch for all the lawyers in the case. He also ordered them to complete a 17-page essay on “the importance of professionalism,” and “treating one’s opponents with civility.”

“A 17-page paper on the importance of professionalism in the legal field and treating one’s opponents with civility. Paper is to be published quality in APA format and at least 10 primary and secondary sources,” the Judge said in a clip from court uploaded by Law&Crime Network. “April 28 at noon or you do 20 days,” Glanville said to Johnson.

Before the day ended, Glanville further reminded the court of being professional. “It has been brought to my attention that some of you at various times have gotten cross purposes with our court personnel. And this falls under the general category of professionalism and our obligations as counsel…. Do not provide extra items in contravention of the things that our deputy have told you,” the judge also said. “On a basic level, folks, all of us are still subject to the rules to include the court. So please don’t put yourself cross purposes with the court.”

The latest incident comes after one lawyer in the trial went viral on social media, Monday, for using the term, “cap,” while addressing the judge in court. The full case is expected to break records as the longest criminal trial in Fulton County history. It is now the third month of jury selection and experts expect the trial itself to take at least nine months in total. The time commitment is reportedly further playing a role in the difficulty of finding a jury.

Megan Thee Stallion Reflects On Tory Lanez’s Guilty Verdict

Megan Thee Stallion says that the idea of people not believing her accusations against Tory Lanez never originally occurred to her. The Traumazine rapper reflected on the guilty verdict in Lanez’s trial during a new interview with Elle. She says that the extensive discussion will be her last public comment on the matter.

“It never crossed my mind that people wouldn’t believe me,” Megan said. “For years, my attacker tried to leverage social media to take away my power. Imagine how it feels to be called a liar every day?”

Megan Thee Stallion Arriving At Court

The Toronto rapper ended up being found guilty of shooting Megan after a party in the summer of 2020. He was convicted on three felony counts and faces up to 20 years in prison. “Still, I knew the truth and the indisputable facts would prevail,” Megan continued. “I had worked way too hard to reach this point in my career to let taunts deter me. When the guilty verdict came on Dec. 23, 2022, it was more than just vindication for me, it was a victory for every woman who has ever been shamed, dismissed, and blamed for a violent crime committed against them.”

As for where she’s at now, Megan says that she’s doing much better but is still battling with leftover anxiety from the entire ordeal. “I’m in a happier place, but I still have anxiety,” she admitted to the outlet. “I’ve accepted this chapter of my life as part of my journey, but I will not allow it to define my journey. I’ve been dragged through the mud, but I’m so happy that I’m able to finally come out of it with a new perspective.”

Tory Lanez isn’t giving up yet, however. He’s filed a motion seeking a new trial while arguing jurors were “erroneously allowed” to see an Instagram comment. The comment reportedly shows Lanez stating that Megan’s former friend Kelsey Harris was not the shooter.

DaBaby Accused Of Withholding Evidence In Assault Case

DaBaby just can’t seem to catch a break. In recent years, his music career has been extremely overshadowed by his legal troubles and personal drama. His issues started before he was even signed to a label, but they seem to have gotten worse and worse since. Recently, the rapper has been embroiled in a legal battle with a property manager. In 2020, DaBaby rented a house in Los Angeles. The property manager was not made aware that the rapper was planning to film a video at the house. As this was not allowed, the manager attempted to enforce the rules of the rental. That is when DaBaby allegedly assaulted him.

Now, the property manager’s legal team is claiming that DaBaby and his legal team are withholding evidence. Namely, they say that the rapper has videos and photos of the incident that he is refusing to produce in court. DaBaby is dealing with both a civil and a criminal trial in regard to the incident. In the civil suit, the property manager is seeking $2 million from the rapper. DaBaby’s legal team says that they will not be producing any of the supposed evidence until after he testifies in the criminal trial.

DaBaby’s Controversies: A Timeline

DaBaby’s legal battles started in 2018, before he had even signed to a record label. The rapper was involved in an altercation in a North Carolina Walmart that led to him killing a teenager. At the time, he claimed self-defense and what police saw on the security footage corroborated his story. However, the footage has since emerged, and people question whether or not it really was self-defense. In early 2020, DaBaby was sued by a concert promoter after the rapper assaulted him. He went to jail for the attack but has since denied the incident took place. However, the entire thing is on video.

In March 2020, the rapper allegedly slapped a female fan on the way to the stage for a performance. Then, in July 2021, he made some extremely homophobic comments during his Rolling Loud set. Additionally, he also collaborated with Tory Lanez after the Megan Thee Stallion shooting. In February 2022, DaBaby and his entourage attacked DaniLeigh’s brother at a bowling alley. Sadly, the events listed here only scratch the surface of the rapper’s horrible behavior. Even worse, DaBaby remains unapologetic for almost every controversy, assault, and murder that he’s been involved in. What do you think about the newest allegations? Let us know in the comments.
