Jason Kelce Refuses To Comment On Rumors About His Brother Travis And Taylor Swift

D’Andre Swift may have had 175 rushing yards in the Eagles’ Thursday Night Football win over the Vikings. However, it was different Swift that was the topic of conversation after the game. As Jason Kelce and Jalen Hurts joined the broadcast crew, Tony Gonzalez asked the Eagles center about the rumors that his brother Travis has been lowkey seeing Taylor Swift over the past few weeks. However, if the Amazon broadcast crew was hoping for an exclusive scoop, they were left as disappointed as the 0-2 Vikings. Kelce refused to do anything more than acknowledge the rumors and speak about his brother’s mood. “Ever since Catching Kelce, people have been infatuated with Travis. I don’t really know what’s going on there. But I know Trav is having fun and we’ll see what happens with whoever he’s going out with.”

Earlier this week, The Messenger reported that Swift and Kelce have reportedly been hanging out over the last few weeks. What we do know is that Kelce did attend one of her Eras concerts. “Well, I was disappointed. [Taylor] doesn’t talk before or after the show. So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her. If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I received a bunch of them. But I wanted to give one to Taylor with my number on it. She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t wanna meet me,” Kelce told his brother Jason on their podcast back in July.

Regardless of what’s going on with his love life, Kelce is expected to return to work his week. The veteran tight end missed the Chiefs’ season-opening loss against the Lions due to a hyperextended knee. However, Kelce is expected to return when the Chiefs travel to Jacksonville this weekend. Last season, Kelce was Patrick Mahomes’ preferred receiving target, racking up over 1300 yards and 12 touchdowns. Without Kelce on the field, the Chiefs receiving core put a dismal 56.8% catch rate.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are 2-0 despite a pair of close games. While their one-score win over the Pats in week one was attributed to rustiness, week two’s one-score win was all about injuries. The Eagles were missing two key defensive pieces, meaning that Kirk Cousins and the Vikings were able to keep it close. Regardless, Jason Kelce and the rest of the Eagles’ line were able to give the skill positions ample time to put an unbeatable offensive performance. DeVonta Smith had 131 receiving yards while, as mentioned, D’Andre Swift put 175 yards on the ground.

Dave Portnoy has weighed in on the rumors that Taylor Swift is currently dating NFL star Travis Kelce. Portnoy, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, penned a piece for Barstool, outlining his feelings on the potential couple. “So I bet he likes the idea of dating Taylor more than actually dating her,” Portnoy wrote. “But that’s okay. Taylor loves dating big-name celebs who are sure to break her heart so why not a football player over some DJ or musician?” Portnoy wrote. “Granted if she went the athlete route I’d picture her more of a Daniel Jones type guy but the heart wants what the heart wants,” he added. “Also I’m a firm believer that the athlete should get the girl not the band geek. That’s just Darwinism 101.”

His wariness also extended to a poll on Instagram, in which he asked his fellow Swifties if they shipped the couple. “Wouldn’t be my 1st choice but Mother works hard to provide for us, [but] she is allowed to have fun too,” Portnoy added as a caption. However, Portnoy explicitly stated that he did inevitably support the relationship if the rumors were true. “So even though I think there is no shot in hell this relationship works or ever gets serious I do support it. At the very least we should get a few good songs out of the breakup,” he concluded in his op-ed.

Travis Kelce Begs Chris Jones To End Contract Holdout

Travis Kelce has made an impassioned plea to his teammate Chris Jones as Jones continues his contract holdout less than a week before the Chiefs open the 2023 NFL season against the Lions. “Chris, can you please come back? You’re really scaring me, man. I don’t get it. You must know something that I don’t know because I just don’t get it. I really want to get another Super Bowl ring with you, brother. This is me bargaining you to just come back and play football for the Chiefs. Please, we need you. We need you bad, and I don’t know what the situation is,” Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said on the podcast he hosts with his brother Jason. “He’s just the best defensive player in the league right now. He’s deserving of all the money in the world. Chris, I love you. Please come back now,” he added.

Jones has not been with the team since the start of training camp due to a contract holdout. Jones, who had 44 tackles and 15.5 sacks in his 2022 campaign, has one year left on his current deal. According to prior reports, Jones is seeking a four-year, $80 million deal that the Chiefs are not currently interested in giving him. Furthermore, the Chiefs traded for Neil Farrell of the Raiders to fill the defensive vacancy left by Jones. Farrell had 12 tackles in nine games as a rookie in 2022.

Chiefs Refuse To Budge On Jones Stance

Despite Kelce’s plea, it appears that the Chiefs are planning to wait out Jones. “Chris has chosen to go this route,” head coach Andy Reid. “Some other guys have chosen to get their deals done and come in and play. I’m not here to criticize one way or the other. We’ve had a lot of success with the guys that we have and we go with it. Other than that, I take the distractions and throw them out the door and let’s get on with what’s real.”

He continued. “Chris is a great player,” Reid said. “We’ve got other good players. They’ll have to step their game up to fill the role. … Everybody just has to play their best, and then you work through it. But to think that you’re gonna fill in for Chris, that’s not what you’re doing.”

Travis Kelce is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. After playing as a hybrid QB/TE for the University of Cincinnati, he was taken in the third round of the 2013 draft by the Chiefs. From there, he has blossomed into one of the league’s greatest-ever tight ends. He became TE1 for the Chiefs in his sophomore year and currently holds a host of records at the position. Furthermore, he sits fourth all-time in receiving yards for a tight end as he enters his tenth NFL season.

But we’re not here to talk about Travis Kelce. Instead, we’re here to make talk about a bold claim he made in a recent interview. According to Kelce, between 50 and 80 percent of all NFL players smoke weed. Additionally, Kelce revealed just how players get away with such a prevalent practice.

Kelce Shares NFL Weed Smoking Secrets

Speaking with Vanity Fair, Kelce revealed how NFL players typically get away with smoking weed. “If you just stop in the middle of July, you’re fine. A lot of guys stop a week before and they still pass because everybody’s working out in the heat and sweating their tail off. Nobody’s really getting hit for it anymore.” In 2021, the NFL relaxed its stance on marijuana. Players were only tested in a two-week window before the season, as opposed to more rigorous testing schedules. Furthermore, the threshold for a positive test was raised from 35ng/ml to 150ng/ml.

While Kelce hasn’t been suspended during his time in the NFL for smoking the good kush, he was in college. He missed the entire 2009 season for violating the NCAA’s marijuana policy. Meanwhile, Kansas City legalized recreational weed this year. As a result, there are just six teams still located in states where weed is illegal under all circumstances. They are both Texas teams, the Falcons, Panthers, Packers, and Colts. However, if what Kelce says is true, it’s like that’s not stopping players lighting up.

MGK And Rick Ross Star At Travis Kelce Music Festival

The NFL Draft wasn’t the only thing going down in Kansas City on Friday night. The city also played host to the first-ever Kelce Jam, a music and food festival hosted by Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. The festival featured food trucks, events, and live music. Kelce is a two-time NFL champion, coming off his second earlier this year. He was drafted in the third round of the 2013 Draft and has spent his whole career with Kansas City. He is currently considering the best tight end in the NFL and one of the greatest to ever play the position.

It had been a pretty wild couple of days for the Kelce Brothers. While Travis was drinking beers off the Super Bowl trophy, his brother Jason was chugging Buds with Eagles fans at the draft. It’s great to see the two brothers, who faced off in the Super Bowl this year, blowing off steam in the offseason. However, Travis had managed to secure some big-name talent for his festival. And arguably, they were bigger names than the NFL was able to get.

Kelce Lands MGK and Rick Ross

First up was Machine Gun Kelly. It’s been a rough couple of days for MGK, as fans speculate on another split from Megan Fox. This comes after Fox reportedly no-showed MGK’s birthday. However, MGK showed up and put out as he and Kelce belted out a rendition of The Beastie Boys’ “Fight For Your Right”. After Kelce lifted MGK off the ground in a bear hug, the two performed an encore of “Fight For Your Right”.

Then came Rick Ross. You might be thinking that Rick Ross also performed music but you be wrong. Instead, Rick Ross was there to adjudicate a wing-eating challenge. This relates to Ross owning a Wingstop franchise location. The contest pitted two Chiefs fans against each other. A man named Hayden Gillum was victorious after eating 19 wings in the 90-second time limit. Overall, Kelce’s festival provided a truly wild night for all in attendance. One could even make the argument that it successfully overshadowed the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft.

However, the football phenom may have to retire his throwing arm. Kelce delivered the ceremonial first pitch for the Cleveland Guardians on Friday. The pitch was a less-than-ideal attempt at hitting the strike zone. Kelce will now join the likes of John Wall and 50 Cent on the list of worst first-pitch attempts.

The throw from Kelce made it to home plate. But it had to roll just to get there. Kelce isn’t going to live this one down for a few weeks. When his brother Jason gets to speak with him next, Travis will hope the video has been scrubbed from the internet. Of course, Kelce was a good sport about the event. The future Hall-of-Fame tight end has always shown to be a good sport. Unless you’re the mayor of Cincinnati. Then you better keep Kelce’s name and his team out of your mouth. Kelce had hopes of bringing the heat, which looks like he did. But in the process, he almost took out Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber. Who I believe is in no relation to another popular Bieber. Kelce was showing off his Cleveland pride on Friday. The former Cincinnati Bearcat is from Cleveland. The city of Cleveland has many stars that have roots in the city. The most notable Cleveland athlete being LeBron James. Evidently, Kelce should ask LeBron for some notes before his next first pitch outing.

Travis Kelce will more than likely sit out a first pitch for a little while. If I were him, I would blame the throw on a cold shoulder. Most first-pitch volunteers don’t get a lot of time to warm up. The Chiefs organization may hope that was Kelce’s last throwing attempt for a while too. Because the team will want him to be at 100% within the next few months. When you think of the best tight ends ever, you have to think about Rob Gronkowski, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, and of course, Shannon Sharpe. In fact, Kelce still has a while to go before he is seen as the GOAT. However, that is not stopping Chiefs fans from declaring him as such. Luckily, TMZ was able to catch up with him recently.
