Travis Kelce Stars In “National Tight Ends Day” Rap Video

Some of the NFL’s brightest stars joined forces to celebrate a very cheeky holiday. Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and more starred in a video released by the NFL to celebrate “National Tight Ends Day”. The holiday, which celebrates the tight end position in the NFL, came about as a result of Niners TE George Kittle joking back in 2019 that the position deserved its own holiday. The video was a 90-second celebration of the position, accompanied by a custom-written wrap song.

The tight end, a hybrid of running back, wide receiver, and offensive lineman, is a position that has had an up-and-down history in the league. It’s often an underappreciated position, which often leads to only a small collection of standout players being remembered.

Kelce To Travel With Taylor Swift During Eras Tour

Away from becoming a rap star, a new report suggests that Travis Kelce will be jetsetting for a good part of the NFL offseason. According to Entertainment Tonight, Kelce will join girlfriend Taylor Swift on the international leg of her Eras Tour next year. “Travis and Taylor are all in… [They] are very serious about their careers, and the two bond over that and want to show support for each other whenever they can,” a source told the outlet. Furthermore, the source claims Kelce will travel with Swift to Brazil for her concerts from November 17-19. However, that feels unlikely given that Kelce has a marquee matchup against the Eagles on November 20.

However, it’s definitely fair to assume that his plans include a majority of next year’s tour dates. Swift kicks things off in Japan in February. Depending on how the Chiefs do this year, Kelce will be unlikely to attend as the Tokyo concerts coincide with the days in the run-up to the Super Bowl. However, the rest of the dates between late February and the start of Chiefs training camp in August should be wide open for Kelce to attend. That run of shows sees Swift tour both Asia and Europe.

T.J. Hockenson Signs Historic Deal With The Vikings

T.J. Hockenson has become the NFL’s highest-paid tight end. While the details of his new detail with the Vikings were not made public, sources revealed them to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter. Hockenson will make $68.5 million over the next four years, with $42.5 million of the contract guaranteed. The Vikings acquired Hockenson, widely considered one of the best tight ends in the league, in the middle of the 2022 season. Furthermore, Hockenson quickly became one of Kirk Cousins’ favorite targets, putting up 519 yards on 60 receptions. “He fits our culture,” Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said. “He’s the type of player we want in Minnesota. I’m really excited to get it done.”

Furthermore, head coach Kevin O’Connell also extolled the impact of the 26-year-old. “Our hopes were that we were acquiring a player that would become a major part of our offense moving forward,” O’Connell said. “We saw the immediate impact over those 10 games — 11 games. We’ve been able to build on T.J.’s role here, and really have a great process in the offseason of what it’s really going to look like in our offensive system for a major player like T.J. to be a part of it.”

Vikings Look To Hockenson, Jefferson In Make-Or-Break Year

Hockenson has missed significant portions of training camp. However, it is believed that he will be ready for the Vikings’ season opener against the Buccaneers. He will play a crucial role in a Vikings team that is looking to prove that they are a bona fide contender. Furthermore, with Aaron Rodgers no longer a division rival, the team will look to become the new Kings of the (NFC) North. The Vikings last won consecutive division titles in 2008 and 2009. Additionally, locking up Hockenson on a long-term deal means that the only major outstanding contract is Justin Jefferson, whose rookie deal runs through 2024.

Cousins once again finds himself in a contract year. The Vikings even drafted a potential successor in BYU’s Jaren Hall. However, with Hockenson, Jefferson, and rookie Jordan Addison at his disposal, Cousins could secure his purple future for a while longer. “I don’t think there was ever any sense of quid pro quo or anything like that. … I know there is a business aspect to things and, ultimately, I can’t tell you anything for certain,” Adofo-Mensah said of the deal. “But I didn’t view it as that at all. I felt like there was a process that needed to play out and ultimately it ended up here, and we’re excited about that.”

Travis Kelce Weighs In On Whether Or Not He’s The GOAT Tight End

Travis Kelce is easily one of the best players in the entire NFL. Overall, he has helped the Kansas City Chiefs win two Super Bowl championships. Moreover, he is consistently the best tight end in the league. Of course, it helps when you are catching passes from none other than Patrick Mahomes. Either way, Kelce is a phenomenal talent who seemingly gets better every single year. His most recent Super Bowl was a huge triumph, and it has fans singing his praises. At this point, some are even calling him the tight-end GOAT.

When you think of the best tight ends ever, you have to think about Rob Gronkowski, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, and of course, Shannon Sharpe. In fact, Kelce still has a while to go before he is seen as the GOAT. However, that is not stopping Chiefs fans from declaring him as such. Luckily, TMZ was able to catch up with him recently. It was here that they asked him whether or not he sees himself as the GOAT. In true Kelce fashion, he remained humble about himself.

Travis Kelce Speaks

“Nah, there’s a lot of great tight ends out there,” Kelce said. “I can’t just say I’m the best.” If Kelce continues to play at his current pace, his GOAT case will be extremely solid. The Chiefs are favorites to win the Super Bowl every year, and if he gets two more titles, he will match Rob Gronkowski with four. Moreover, if he hits the 100-touchdown mark, then his GOAT case is set in stone. Either way, it is going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to eventually get there.

If you are a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, you know that Kelce is a piece that cannot be lost. Mahomes was able to get it done without Tyreek Hill, however, if Kelce goes, that dynasty is in serious trouble. That said, we hope Kelce is able to show people his greatness, yet again, throughout 2023 and beyond. Let us know where you have Kelce in the GOAT debate, down below.
