Deion Sanders Already Knows Where He Wants Shedeur Sanders To Play: “Certain Cities Where It Ain’t Gonna Happen”

Deion Sanders says that his son, Shedeur Sanders, and teammate Travis Hunter, will only play for certain teams in the NFL. Appearing on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, the Colorado head coach discussed his plans for each of his star players’ future NFL careers. For Shedeur and Hunter, he expects: “Top-4,” in the draft and hinted at a scenario similar to Eli Manning.

He explained: “Anywhere from 1-4, one of them is gonna be 1. One of them is gonna be 1, and the latter one would not go behind 4. Now, all this is subjective because I know where I want, kind of want them to go — and let’s not forget Shilo (Sanders). But I know where I want them to go. So, there’s certain cities where it ain’t gonna happen. It’s gonna be an Eli.”

Deion Sanders Celebrates With Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur led the Buffaloes with 3,230 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and just three interceptions, last year, catapulting him into NFL draft discussions. He’ll be eligible for the league in 2025. Hunter made headlines for his abilities on both sides of the football. As both a receiver and defensive back, he recorded 23 tackles and three interceptions while also notching 721 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Travis Hunter And Shedeur Sanders Freak Out As LeBron James Comes Over To Speak With Them

LeBron James left college stars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter as he went out of his way to talk with them at the Lakers’ NBA opener. Hunter and Sanders were there alongside their head coach Deion Sanders in Denver for Nuggets-Lakers. After the game, LeBron sought out the two players and told them how much he loved their game. Hunter was seen screaming and holding onto his quarterback’s shirt after LeBron moved on. Meanwhile, Sanders asked if he could have LeBron’s jersey.

Sanders and Hunter are two of the biggest pieces in Coach Prime’s complex Colorado jigsaw. Sanders is 4th in yards (2420), 3rd in touchdowns (21), and 9th in completion percentage (72.3%). He has often been the line between victory and defeat as the Buffaloes continue to move further and further away from their 1-11 2022 campaign. Meanwhile, Hunter is the first true two-way star in years and despite only being a freshman, is already catching the eye of many NFL scouts.

Deion Sanders Approves Of SNL Impression

However, an appearance at NBA opening night isn’t the only reason that the Sanders family is in the news. Deion Sanders recently gave his verdict on a recent impression Kenan Thompson did of him on SNL. “I’m a fan of Kenan, let’s get that straight. I love what he’s brought to comedy. I had the pleasure and honor to host Saturday Night Live before and I’ll never forget those moments,” Sanders said of the skit at his press availability this week. Thompson brought Coach Prime to life in a Weekend Update segment that poked fun at Sanders’ larger-than-life personality. As for Sanders’ SNL hosting gig, that came in February 1995, a couple weeks after he won Super Bowl 30 with the Niners.

Sanders and the Buffs are back in action this weekend following their bye week. The 4-3 Buffs take on #23 5-2 UCLA, who have traded wins and losses for their last four games. The Bruins enter coming off a big 42-7 win over Stanford, a team that stunned Colorado two weeks ago. With five games and three ranked opponents left, every game is a must-win for Colorado if they want to stand a chance of playing in bowl season this year.

Deion Sanders On Travis Hunter Suiting Up Against Stanford: “There’s A Tremendous Chance He Plays”

Deion Sanders is cautiously confident that he will have two-way star Travis Hunter back in the Colorado lineup when the Buffaloes take on Stanford this Friday. “There’s a tremendous chance he could play. It goes by how he looks, how he performs in practice, how his wind is. He has to be in shape. “I don’t want him to be a liability, I want him to always be a tremendous asset. Travis came to me [Monday] morning, saying, ‘What more can I do to help us get to the point that we need to get to?’ I love the team aspect of Travis 100 percent. I hope he can play,” Sanders told reporters this week.

Hunter has been out since suffering a lacerated liver against Colorado State on September 16. Since then, Colorado has dropped from 3-0 to 4-2. They opened Pac-12 play with back-to-back losses against Oregon and USC. However, they were able to survive 1-4 Arizona State to escape with a win and snap an eight-game conference losing streak.

Colorado Eye Bounce Back Against Ailing Cardinal

Colorado may have gotten the win last weekend, but it wasn’t clean and it didn’t leave Sanders in the best mood. “Wonderful win, but we played like hot garbage and I’m trying to figure it out. I’m sick of this. We’re better than this,” Sanders said following the 27-24 win. He also alluded to the team’s reliance on his son, starting quarterback Shedeur, bailing them out of bad performances. “It’s like we’re waiting on him to put on his cape and do what he does. That’s what he does every week.” Arizona State had Colorado’s for most of the game. However, a 43-yard pass in the final minutes allowed the Buffs to kick the game-winning field goal

Next up on the docket is 1-4 Stanford. It’s been a terrible year for the Cardinal, with their sole win coming against Hawai’i in Week 1. Their subsequent four-game losing streak included a 30-23 loss to FCS side Sacramento State. It’s the perfect game for Colorado to reset ahead of a tough second half of the season. Colorado’s final five games of the season feature four ranked opponents (UCLA, Oregon State, Washington State, and Utah). It also features a game against Arizona, who pushed USC to triple overtime last weekend.

Travis Hunter And Henry Blackburn Link Up To Quash Beef Rumors

Colorado two-way star and Colorado State defensive starter Henry Blackburn linked up this week to show there’s no bad blood between the two players. A Colorado State spokesperson told ESPN that the two players met and went bowling this week. Rumors of a grudge have circulated ever since Blackburn’s illegal hit on Hunter two weeks ago left Hunter with a lacerated liver. The meet-up will be part of an upcoming video on Hunter’s YouTube channel. Blackburn’s teammate Ron Hardge III, whose brother plays at Colorado, helped connect the two players.

Even with any notion of bad blood quashed, Hunter remains on the sidelines. He missed Colorado’s 42-6 loss to Oregon last weekend and is set to miss their upcoming game against #8 USC on Saturday. It’s unclear how many more games he will miss. Colorado’s first two games of October are a road game against Arizona State and a home game against Stanford.

Colorado Given “Puncher’s Chance” Against USC

#8 USC and Heisman candidate Caleb Williams is certainly not the opponent that Colorado would want to face without Hunter. However, they haven’t been counted out completely. ESPN‘s Paul Finnebaum said that the Buffs have a “puncher’s chance” against USC. “They are playing one of the better teams in the country, but one that is still suspectable on defense.” While other contributors one Get Up, Football weren’t as confident in an upset, they were still willing to argue that Colorado has come leaps and bounds from their one-win 2022 campaign.

While the loss to Colorado killed most of the “Colorado National Champions” momentum, most pundits see the Buffs as, at the very least, a bowl team this year. To do that, they will need a minimum of three more wins to finish at least 6-6. Arizona State (1-3) and Stanford (1-3) both seem like good candidates to get them to five wins. However, that’s where the gimmes end for Colorado. The rest of their slate is UCLA (3-1), #19 Oregon State (3-1), Arizona (3-1), #16 Washington State (4-0), and #10 Utah (4-0).

Colorado Football Dual Threat Travis Hunter Out with Lacerated Liver

Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes will be without dual-threat Travis Hunter for the next few weeks. Hunter suffered a lacerated liver after a brutal hit at the hands of Colorado State’s Henry Blackburn.

Skip Bayless revealed the injury during Monday’s episode of UNDISPUTED, citing he will miss 3-4 weeks.

According to ESPN, Blackburn has received death threats for the hits and his phone number and campus address were leaked online.

“We’re very concerned about our player’s safety, as Henry and his family have continued to receive these threats,” Colorado State athletic director Joe Parker told ESPN. “Henry never intended to put anyone in harm’s way on the football field. It’s not what we teach or coach. We hope that the irrational vitriol directed at Henry stops immediately.”

Hunter is not holding hard feelings, stating, “something bad is going to happen on the field sooner or later.”

Skip Bayless Reveals Travis Hunter Suffered Lacerated Liver After Vicious Hit

Travis Hunter has been mesmerizing football fans so far this season, and for good reason. For those who may not know, Hunter is the superstar cornerback and wide receiver for the Colorado Buffaloes. In the first two games of the season, he played pretty well every snap on both sides of the ball. Overall, this kind of dual-threat player is seldom seen at any level. Although some feel like it won’t last, there are some who believe he can be a game-changer once he reaches the NFL level.

Unfortunately, Hunter was targeted on Saturday night in a win against the Colorado State Rams. He was hit late and overall, it was a crushing blow that sent him to the ground. When he got hit, he was writhing in pain and it was difficult to watch. Subsequently, he was taken out of the game and brought to the hospital. Fans have been expressing concern for him ever since. Today, Skip Bayless provided a crucial update on the young man.

Travis Hunter Is A Warrior

As you can see in the clip above, Bayless reveals that Hunter suffered a lacerated liver. Any sort of injury to a major organ is going to lead to caution and concern. Simply put, it was right to take him out of the game. Moreover, when it comes to his return, it will take three to four weeks for him to get right. This means he will not get to play against Oregon and USC, which are Colorado’s two most difficult games of the entire season. They are also the games where all eyes will be on Coach Prime and his squad.

It is safe to say right now that no one expects Colorado to make it through these next two games with an undefeated record.
