Babyface Ray & BossMan Dlow Are Stacking It Up On Their Single “Count Money”

Babyface Ray and BossMan Dlow are proving that they are an entertaining duo on their first collaboration, “Count Money”. Both rappers skate over a woozy, minimal, and skittering beat. Overall, this is a beat that they are well accustomed to, so they are able to make light work of it. It’s a pretty braggadocious cut, if the title didn’t already give it away already. Ray and Dlow pen some sticky and clever bars as well, adding to the enjoyability factor. “The coupe sits so low to the Earth, now watch it crawl away / … I just went two days, I’m good with the drink, now I got stomach pains“.

Obviously, they aren’t laying down some super dense bars, but they just work well with what’s going on. “Count Money” is the latest single from Babyface Ray and one that will land on an upcoming project. It’s going to be called The Kid That Did and it will be out on September 13. So far, Ray has released five in total, with the other ones being “Money On My Mind”, “Ghetto Boyz” with Peezy, as well as “Shy Kid” and “Rubberband Man”. While you wait on the album to drop, check out “Count Money” with the link below.

Quotable Lyrics:

I’ve been countin’ money all day (All day), I came a long way
B****, I’m in L.A., droppin’ forty, like LeBron James
Movin’ too fast on that drink, I done went the wrong way
I say “Bae, you in good hands”, like this Allstate, n****

Trippie Redd, LAZER DIM 700, & VonOff1700 Collab For Cutthroat Single “Murderman”

In the mid to late 2010s, Canton, Ohio native Trippie Redd was a fresh voice for hip-hop. His blends of emo, heavy metal, pop rap, and trap brought some of the biggest songs of the decade. “Dark Knight Dummo”, “Talking A Walk”, “1400/ 999 Freestyle”, “Topanga”, and “Love Scars”, are just a few. Additionally, he’s done some decent work in the 2020s, especially at the start. However, the same cannot be said today and arguably over the last couple of years. For some reason, he cannot seem to recapture what made him so special at his peak. Unfortunately, the struggle for Trippie Redd continues this week too with “Murderman”.

At some point, he’s going to be dropping LIFE’S A TRIP 2, the sequel to his well-received debut album of the same name. If more songs like “Murderman” are what we are going to be receiving, then this LP is doomed. Honestly, though, it’s already trending in that direction. “LWRW” and “LGLG” are debatably some of the most repetitive and boring singles of 2024. “Bando Kid” is definitely the most respectable and closest return to form in our eyes, however. For “Murderman”, though, Trippie is working with LAZER DIM 700 and VonOff1700, two more underground names who bring an extremely murderous tone.

However, that’s about all that they do here. At times, they try to sound like Playboi Carti’s deep voice, including Trippie. If you haven’t heard a VonOff feature or single, you are certainly in for an experience. We don’t want to say any more, so check it out for yourself and see if you agree with our take.

Ralo Delivers His First Record Since Prison Sentence, “Welcome Home”

Ralo has certainly been through a lot over the last few years, but now he’s feeling better than ever now that Welcome Home is out. The Atlanta, Georgia mainstay was doing six years of time for drug conspiracy charges, and you could tell that around the time of his release, he was feeling all sorts of emotions. It didn’t help that he was remembering the loss of his close friend Marlo. “Marlo told me not to worry he was going to be the first person at the gate waiting on me when this s*** over. My release is in two weeks and I know life goes on, but this s*** aint da same as when we was passing this money around we was all happy and helping each other”.

However, as we said, Ralo was able to persevere and its why we have Welcome Home in front of us today. During our interview with him, he feels that this is what makes him tick as an artist and its why his fans mess with the way he goes about his music. “More people bought into me as a person, you know what I’m saying? Like, what I did for the community, what I do for the community, and you know, the way I was living, the way I was moving”. That earnestness is all over the 16-song tracklist, which has features from Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, Yungeen Ace, and more. It’s great to have Ralo back in the game and we encourage you to check it out with the links below.

Rylo Rodriguez Adds A New Hit To His Solo Catalog With “85 Cutlass”

There are certainly a lot of rappers that are emerging in the Alabama scene. However, you could argue that Rylo Rodriguez is the next man up. The Glass Window Entertaiment (Lil Baby) signee does have a fairly limited catalog for someone who’s been around since 2018. However, these last couple years have shown he’s really coming into his own as an artist. He draws some inspiration from current and fellow Southern hip-hop legends like Future. You can definitely hear the influence on the latest Rylo Rodriguez single “85 Cutlass”.

It’s probably the most apparent toward the backend of the track, especially in the way his delivery sounds with the auto-tuned melodies. They do say the imitation is the greatest form of flattery. In terms of solo releases this year, this is Rylo’s first, surprisingly. 2024 seems to be a year of making connections for him, as he’s been on a feature rampage. He’s worked with Mobile native NoCap on multiple occasions, especially for his recent LP, Before I Disappear Again. Furthermore, he has work with Veeze, YTB Fatt, and Lil Baby. However, “85 Cutlass” may be his best work so far, as fans are loving the personal bars about fake friends, certain life experiences and advice and more. See why it has over half a million views in such a short time with the link below.

NoCap Delivers His Hyped Up Second LP “Before I Disappear Again”

NoCap isn’t your typical rapper from the south. His delivery is definitely one of the aspects in his repertoire that sticks out the most. His drawn-out melodies and rap/singing style differentiate him from the rest of the pack of your standard trap MCs. Instrumentally speaking, he’s also quite unique. Guitars are a major piece to the puzzle, as well as piano keys, lowkey hi-hats and softer drums. He definitely works in some soul influence into his approach, too. All of these elements we just mentioned pop up on Before I Disappear Again, the sophomore LP from NoCap.

This project has been highly anticipated by his fanbase, and rightfully so. NoCap has put out some of his most successful and replayed singles ahead of this 23-song set. “Baby Drake” and “Yacht Party” are currently totaling over 2.3 million streams. Also teasing this project was the August 2 record, “Maliboo”. Also giving Before I Disappear Again some street cred so to speak are the features. French Montana, Quavo, his native contemporary, Rylo Rodriguez, as well as SoFaygo and his stylistic twin (in some respects), Sleepy Hallow, also land here. See what this project can do for you with the links below.

Yella Beezy & Lil Wayne Deliver Loads Of Hilarious One-Liners On “Hit”

Yella Beezy is ironically back with a new single featuring Lil Wayne called “Hit”. We say ironically because late last month, the Dallas, Texas rapper was accused of assault by four men after a Chris Brown tour stop in Fort Worth. They claim they were invited to a VIP experience and that the R&B singer ordered his entourage, as well as Yella Beezy, to settle things physically over old beef. As it stands, it seems that the lawsuit still has the possibility of going through, as there have been no further updates since the 26th. In terms of much these two artists are being sued for, it’s a healthy $50 million.

Overall, it seems that Yella Beezy is pretty confident he’s not going to be in any sort of trouble. This “Hit” record is his first of the year and it sees him work with Lil Wayne for the first time. What’s also cool about this track is that it might be a teaser to Beezy’s album. A Weezy fanpage by the name of lilwaynehq claims that the “That’s On Me” MC is dropping the LP sometime in September. However, we aren’t holding our breath just yet. In terms of the quality of “Hit”, its quite the riot. Both veterans bring a lot of energy and funny bars like these. “Got n**** poppin’ out like Janet Jackson titty, woadie“. That line alone is worth the price of admission.

Real Boston Richey Has A Future Hit With “Get In There” Featuring GloRilla

Real Boston Richey is maintaining a strong level of consistency in 2024. A couple of months ago, the Tallahassee, Florida product put out one of his most vulnerable cuts to date with “Help Me”. Fans commended him peeling back his layers a bit as they responded positively to the single. So much so, that the track is currently his most popular on his Spotify with over 6.1 million streams. Additionally, it’s seen a lot of success on other platforms such as TikTok. It’s been used over 500,000 posts. Furthermore, it’s done well on YouTube, amassing over 13.8 million views between the music video and audio uploads. Because of this, it’s sitting at number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100. Excuse us for gushing, but we have to give the Freebandz signee his flowers. However, let’s focus in on Real Boston Richey’s latest effort “Get In There”.

It appears he’s on his way to having another viral record with this one. That’s thanks to his blunt and aggressive bars, the memorable claps on the instrumental, and a vulgar GloRilla feature. Speaking of the Memphis star, you could view this as her returning the favor. Real Boston Richey lent his talents to a track off her recent Ehhthang Ehhthang mixtape. Overall, both tracks are winners, but “Get In There” might get the slight nod. See what you think though, with the music video link below.

Kodak Black Seeks Violence On Ominous “Hit Stick”

Kodak Black is daring anyone and everyone to step to him if they wish on his latest single “Hit Stick”. This track is immediately following up on a handful massive features. The most recent are for Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES 2 and you can hear him on “FIELD TRIP”, as well as the YEEZY.com exclusive “DRUNK”, which also features Peso Pluma. Going back just a little further to June, him and Don Toliver’s “BROTHER STONE” showed that these two starkly different artists could coexist. Also, in that same month, Kodak and his Vulture Love signees would put out their first posse tape Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies on Earth.

So, yes, the Florida rapper has been busy lending his time to other artists as of late. Because of this, possibly, Kodak Black felt the need to come back hollering on “Hit Stick”. Here, you’re getting nothing but the business from the MC as he dishes out threats to his enemies. “Blitz a n**** s***, hit stick tackle
Soon as the Spyder whip, get off the streets, swing it right after, mm / I get on a bih, nothin’ make me back up / Think I got a bih, oh, he sleep, come here, boy, smack ’em
“. This intimidation display is done over an epically dark and grand instrumental with ear-piercing string sections. Kodak is definitely back, that is for certain.

Midwxst Guns For Banger After Banger On “BACK IN ACTION 4.0”

Midwxst gained a lot of fans early on thanks to his BACK IN ACTION series and this weekend he is here with version 4.0. This is something that the South Carolina genre-bender has been doing since 2021, a couple of years after he started his professional career in 2019. The underground star tends to be more experimental in subgenres like hyper pop and emo on his other projects. However, on these BACK IN ACTION tapes like 4.0, midwxst likes to unleash the rage and go for trap/rage bangers that will melt your brain. From almost start to finish, the 21-year-old does not let his foot off the gas. The first half of the tracklist is especially this way, as the beats are hyper-aggressive and alien-like.

Only a couple of features accompany midwxst here, as you can find Dro Kenji on “MIA”, and DC The Don on “FIRE”. Speaking of the latter, it was one of three promotional singles. “E30”, which yes, for all of you car junkies out there is nod to the BMW car model, and “GUN SMOKE”. To help make up for lost time on this series, midwxst made 4.0 the longest of the quartet. It stands at 15 songs at just under 39 minutes. Hardcore fans of his will undoubtedly debate for quite a bit on which is now the best BACK IN ACTION. But to give our take, this project is pretty solid. However, with it being longer, some of the songs can sound the same both on the performance and instrumental front.

G Herbo & Skilla Baby Get Active On “Shoot”

G Herbo is back once again with a new 2024 release called “Shoot”, featuring the likes of Detroit star, Skilla Baby. Over the last several months, the Chicago, Illinois native has been putting on for his hometown, dropping singles and features left and right. This year, we have seen the “PTSD” artist team up with Hotblock Jmoe, Chief Keef, 21 Lil Harold, Aarne, Kerch Dolla, and more. On the solo front, Herbo has put out “Subject”, a freestyle over BossMan Dlow’s “Get In With Me”, and now “Shoot”. With this prolific release pattern, the hope is that G Herbo delivers a new album/mixtape for 2024.

But while we wait for that, what does this Skilla Baby collaboration have to offer up? Well, to be frank, it’s sadly formulaic. The chorus from the rising talent is pretty forgettable and extremely repetitive. With a title like “Shoot” and previous knowledge of these two’s discographies, you might have a good guess as to what the song is about. While there is nothing wrong with rapping about street violence and stakeouts, the execution feels too one-note. It is cool to see Skilla Baby and Herbo work alongside each other, but the final product is just too lackluster for their standards. Still, give the song a try with the music video link below.
