Chris Brown’s New Album Will Be Twice As Long As Originally Promised

Back in August, Chris Brown announced his 11th studio album. For the project he was really leaning into the number 11. The album was called 11:11 and was set to drop on November 11, with 11 tracks. It’s that last detail that he’s now walking back on. After some fans expressed disappointment in the short tracklist given how long Brown’s recent albums have been, he decided to switch things up.

Earlier today he announced the official tracklist for the album which now features 22 songs. It’s still partially a play on the album title since 22 songs is exactly double the original 11. “HEALING ENERGY ON ME” Brown captioned an Instagram post revealing the names of the songs set to appear on the album. One thing he didn’t reveal is the features. While he did show fans which track have guests featured on them he’s keeping it a secret who appears where. Check out the tracklist announcement and fan reactions below.

RAW Drops October 20

RAW, which stands for “Real A*s Wh*res,” is going to be good, at least according to JT. In fact, she says they haven’t dropped a single subpar project to date. “City girls don’t have one bad album,” she reminded her fans on Twitter today. “Can’t believe this is our 4th project! don’t forget where a lot of you b*tches got y’all direction from!” Though good things clearly come in twos, the City Girls are doing quite well for themselves individually, too.

During a chat with Kali Uchis for Interview Magazine earlier this month, JT revealed that she’ll be releasing a solo project after City Girls’ album drops. “I want to put out that project and then sort everything out individually,” she explained. As for Yung Miami, she recently took home an award for Best Hip-Hop Platform at the BET Hip Hop Awards for her podcast, Caresha Please. What do you think of City Girls’ newly-unveiled RAW tracklist? Quavo Tattooed Takeoff As A Kid, Rapper Unveils Old “Only Built For Infinity Links” Footage

During a recent interview, Quavo shared a surprising new detail of his relationship with his late nephew and collaborator, Takeoff. The 32-year-old revealed that as a teenager, he fell into the role of personal tattoo artist for his friend group. He claims that after coming across a “kind of stolen” tattoo gun, his crew brought it to him because they knew he can draw. Quavo says that despite not knowing anything about tattooing, he went for it as a means to make a little bit of cash.

The performer went on to share that he even gave Takeoff his first tattoo. The piece was also the only ink he’d ever gotten before his 2022 passing. It was also the first tattoo Quavo’s ever given anybody. He describes the experience as “bad as hell,” noting how it signifies the trust they had between them.

Quavo Gave Takeoff His First Tattoo

Today is also the one-year-anniversary of the release of Quavo and Takeoff’s joint album, Only Built for Infinity Links. To celebrate, Quavo unveiled some never-before-seen footage of their creative process. In a new clip, the two of them are seen literally at the drawing board, putting together the album’s tracklist. The immense amount of scribbling, arrows, underlines, and more just goes to show how much effort went into the project. Only Built for Infinity Links came out on October 7 of 2022. Just a month later, Takeoff was shot in Houston, which led to his untimely death on November 1.

Kid Cudi Confirms His New Album Will Have 40+ Songs

Long albums have become increasingly common in the streaming era. It’s common in rap for albums to run over 20 tracks these days. The biggest-selling album of 2023 so far, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time, features a whopping 36 tracks. Taylor Swift’s massive Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) has a substantial 22 tracks of its own. Indie singer Mac DeMarco surprised fans earlier this year by unleashing an astonishing 199-song album called One Wayne G back in April. Now, Kid Cudi is following in the footsteps of those releasing albums with massive tracklists.

Cudi’s new album INSANO was originally due for release earlier this year but was ultimately delayed. He seems to be committed to making the best possible use of that extra time. “There are 40+ songs on INSANO between the main album and deluxe(s). Ur welcome. 2024 takeover begins,” Cudi tweeter. Cudi isn’t exactly known for short albums. Much of his discography features tracklists that run between 15 and 20 tracks. His often maligned 2015 album Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven was released with a collection of demos that added up to 26 total tracks. Check out Cudi’s tweet and some of the fan reactions below.

Kid Cudi’s New Album Will Be LONG

Fans in the comments of an Instagram post discussing the tweet showed some caution. “dawg why so many,” one of the top comments reads. “Ain’t no way it’s people finna listen to that,” another highly upvoted comment says. While there are some people expressing excitement for the project, many seem to think that 40 tracks is too many.

Kid Cudi also received some flak from fans for his pitching ability. The singer was invited to throw the first pitch at a recent Cleveland Guardians game. Like many celebs in the past he seemed to find out that it wasn’t as easy as it looks and his unimpressive pitch made the rounds online. What do you think of Kid Cudi’s new album having more than 40 tracks on it? Let us know in the comment section below.
