Tory Lanez Remanded As Parents Erupt In Courtroom

The internet has lit up now that the verdict has been shared in the Tory Lanez case. The singer-rapper has been convicted of assault and weapons charges, and it’s reported he faces 22 years in prison. According to “Lawyers4Workers,” at the courthouse, when the verdict was read, Lanez stood motionless. Then, he was remanded on the spot and taken to jail. His sentencing will take place on January 27.

The reporter also stated that Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, and stepmother created a scene. After the verdict was read, they allegedly began yelling in the court, and many targeted Roc Nation and Jay-Z. It’s said that Megan Thee Stallion’s attorneys are those of her management.

Additionally, reporter Meghann Cuniff gave more insight into the chaos inside the courtroom.

“Tory Lanez’s father stood up guest and screamed. ‘This is a wicked system!’ He screamed at the prosecutors that they are evil and they know exactly what they did here.” In another moment, “His stepmother stood up screaming and yelling. Father was yelling about ‘Roc Nation.’”

Cuniff also reported, “Tory Lanez was remanded on the spot, led out in handcuffs by sheriff’s deputies. There were six total in the courtroom, two at door and four behind Lanez, and there was quite a scene when they tried to get Lanez’s father and stepmother under control.”

“One woman in the gallery held up her hand as Tory’s father was screaming about Roc Nation and wicked injustice, repeating ‘In the name of Jesus!’” Also, “Deputies were forcing them all out into the hallway and telling the gallery we had to stay seated.”

“One woman turned and looked at the reporters sitting behind her, including me, and said, ‘Jay Z is a b*tch. Report that: Jay Z is a b*tch.’”

It was additionally stated Lanez’s young son began crying as sheriffs ushered out the rapper’s father. Social media has also been divided in reactions, as Lanez’s supporters have declared this a miscarriage of justice. However, the “#WeStandWithMegan” hashtag has taken over Twitter.

Tory Lanez Was Found Guilty Of Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez has been found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020, according to multiple in-court sources, including Law Crime News’ Meghann Cuniff and Los Angeles Times’ Jonah Valdez.

The trial against Tory wrapped up today with both the prosecution and Tory’s defense giving their closing arguments. The jury was given leave to deliberate at 11:15 Thursday am and returned the verdict at 3:30 pm Friday. Evidence presented in the trial included gunshot residue on Lanez, witness testimony, and texts from Tory that suggested he had apologized for the incident. While Megan testified, Tory did not.

Tory was accused of charged with committing assault with a firearm causing great bodily injury; concealing a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence after the July 2020 incident, in which Megan was left with bullet fragments in both feet. He avoided a fourth witness tampering charge for allegedly offering to bribe Megan due to the judge denying the motion to introduce a late charge after the trial had begun.

A contentious build-up to the trial followed, with Tory maintaining his innocence and apparently waging a behind-the-scenes press campaign to make it seem as if Megan was “framing” him for the shooting, which he suggested was committed by her friend Kelsey Harris, who was with them at the time.

While Tory saw his fortunes fall in the immediate wake of the shooting, Megan said that the scrutiny she faced during the intervening two years made her wish she’d died instead of being injured.

Megan Thee Stallion is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Tory Lanez Found Guilty Of All 3 Charges In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

A verdict has finally been reached in the Tory Lanez trial, and the internet has lit up. After two weeks of controversial testimony, a jury has found Lanez guilty of all charges: assault with a semi-automatic firearm (personal use of a firearm); carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

In one of the most talked about Hip Hop trials in recent years, Megan Thee Stallion and Lanez have divided the culture. He claimed Megan’s former friend Kelsey Harris pulled the trigger, while Harris denied being the person responsible. The defense hoped to cast enough reasonable doubt in an effort to obtain a not-guilty verdict.

“A jury has convicted Tory Lanez of all three charges for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion,” stated reporter Meghann Cunniff. “A crazy and downright scary scene in the courtroom as his father and stepmother screamed about wicked injustice.”

Aside from the verdict, Megan’s missing bodyguard was also a hot topic today (December 23). Justin Edison was called to testify in the trial last Friday, but he went missing. Today, he surrendered to the authorities, and it is speculated that the pressure from the trial caused him to retreat.

During the trial, Megan testified that she saw Lanez shoot her.

“He was holding the gun pointing at me,” she said, also declaring that Lanez told her, “Dance b*tch,” as he fired the gun.

“I froze,” said Megan. She added, she was “shocked.”

“I wasn’t really sure if this was happening,” Megan testified. Continuing, “I looked at the ground and saw the blood … everyone was shocked.”

Expect to hear more about what occurred in the courtroom, as well as Lanez’s sentencing. In an interview with DJ Akademiks, Lanez stated he faced 24 years if convicted.

“He was found and bench warrant was recalled,” Attorney Michael Zweiback said. Edison reportedly “came forward today because of what was happening to his family.”

The bodyguard’s father recently told Good Morning America that he hadn’t heard from Edison since last Thursday.

“My hope is that [Justin] comes forward so that he doesn’t assume the risks that we discussed before,” Harold Edison shared with GMA. “I explained to him that this is not worth the risk … we must maintain our integrity.” He also noted that a SWAT team entered his home and placed him in handcuffs. The District Attorney’s office declined to comment about the incident.

“I really want this to stop. This is a clear abuse of law enforcement,” Harold added.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Ex Bodyguard’s Nudes Leak After He No-Shows Tory Lanez Trial

Just when we thought the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion trial couldn’t come with any more curve balls, we’ve been hit with another. Following reports that the Houston native’s former bodyguard, Justin Edison, is missing, nudes allegedly believed to be his have leaked online, causing a major stir on Twitter.

The “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker’s ex-security was due to testify in court last Friday (December 16). However, he inexplicably failed to show up at the courthouse last week. Prior to that, he was expected to say that the Canadian apologized to him for shooting his client.

It’s worth noting that Edison wasn’t actually present at the time of the incident, though he did vehemently vow to protect Thee Stallion afterward. Presently, the reason for his absence remains unknown, though some blogs did speculate that he was in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup.

A source previously told Media Take Out that the bodyguard was protecting an anonymous VIP at the games, and even provided Instagram photos believed to be him. However, the account holder who shared the snapshots shut down the gossip, telling people that the man in the photograph is not the one they were looking for.

Ultimately, the trial wrapped up its closing statements earlier this week without hearing Edison’s testimony. Additionally, Tory Lanez never took the stand, though both Megan Thee Stallion and Kelsey Harris did.

Unfortunately, the former athlete isn’t completely off the hook. As his name was circulating for his apparent disappearance, someone decided it was the perfect time to leak alleged nudes belonging to him.

At this time, it hasn’t been officially confirmed whether it’s Edison in the viral photos. However, various blogs have already attributed them to him, causing plenty of unwanted attention to head his way.

On Twitter, the discourse regarding the situation has been coming in nonstop. “Tattoos don’t match. When compared to his most recent and old pictures. First he went missing and now someone is trying to claim this is his nudes? What’s really going on with this case and behind the scenes???” one user pondered.

“The fact that Justin Edison’s nudes leaked and y’all are laughing at his size rather than addressing the obvious extortion attempt and revenge porn is disgusting,” another pointed out.

Other responses came from those who were simply eager to see the nudes for themselves.
