I don’t want the album getting overlooked twice . It’s too good.”

Tory Lanez Convicted Of All Three Charges In Shooting Of Megan Thee Stallion

Screen Shot 2022 12 23 at 7.07.50 PM

According to a recent tweet from Los Angeles County D.A. George Gascón, Daystar Peterson a.k.a. Tory Lanez, has been found guilty on all three counts in the 2020 shooting of Megan Pete aka rap superstar Megan Thee Stallion.

A jury decided that Lanez did indeed shoot Pete in the foot after the two and a friend left a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in 2020. Lanez was originally charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Earlier in the month, prosecutors added a third charge, discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Lanez faces up to 22 years in prison with these pending convictions.

Police stopped an SUV in July 2020 with Pete, Peterson and two of their friends. Megan originally told the police that she cut her foot on glass when they asked her why she was bleeding. She was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors found bullet fragments in her foot, which required surgery to remove.

In her testimony, Megan Thee Stallion said Lanez offered her $1 million to keep quiet about the shooting.

In an pre-trial interview with Gayle King, Megan Thee Stallion explained that she lied to police because she was scared of getting into a more dangerous situation.

“You think I’m about to tell the police that we … us Black people got a gun in the car?” she asked. “You want me to tell the law that we got a gun in the car so they can shoot all of us up?”

Jurors heard a interview with Megan’s ex-gf, Kelsey Harris,

Harris said in the taped interview that she heard the two argue about their careers before the shooting beganHarris said that Lanez had ordered the women to exit the SUV and Megan Thee Stallion was walking away when the first shots were fired.

“He’s shooting over the top of the door,” Harris told prosecutors. “He’s leaning over the front passenger door, and he was shooting the gun.”

Fans have called out the slut-shaming or victim-blaming being used to distract from the violence Megan Thee Stallion had to endure. On the day the Grammy Award winner took the stand, thousands online used the hashtag #WeStandWithMegan to support her during trial.

Other celebrities have also supported The Stallion’s case, including Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” collaborator Cardi B., calling Megan a “superstar” in an Instagram Live.

“Why would somebody lie about getting shot?” Cardi said. “Why?”

Tory Lanez Chooses Not To Take Stand In Megan Thee Stallion Assault Trial, Prosecution And Defense Deliver Closing Statements

Tory Lanez Violated Megan Thee Stallion's Restraining Order By Performing At Rolling Loud, According To Prosecutors

It looks like the Tory Lanez assault trial is coming to an end. After day seven of the trial on Tuesday, December 20, the biggest question was whether or not Tory Lanez will take the stand. However, the next day, Wednesday, December 21st, it became clear that Lanez would not be taking the stand.

Sources say that if Lanez had taken the stand, prosecutors would have asked him questions about tattoos, rap lyrics, music videos, prior criminal history, and history of assault in order to show the jury that Lanez was more than capable of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

On Wednesday, Tory’s driver Jaquan Smith, the only sober person involved in the incident, appeared in court prepared to give his testimony. It was noted that the court began late because the prosecution and defense were in the judge’s chambers debating whether or not Smith should take the stand. The prosecution apparently asked the judge to have a week to prepare Smith to deliver his testimony, to which the judge declined.

Closing arguments in the case began after lunch but time ran out for the defense to finish their closing arguments. They will continue tomorrow morning and the case will be delivered to the jury. Sources say to expect a decision either tomorrow or on Friday.

On Tuesday, a man by the name of Sam Kelly gave his account of what had happened that night. He says he was awoken by two women screaming at each other which then escalated to a fight. He said that even though he didn’t see a gun, he saw the first muzzle flash coming from one of the women, presumed to be Kelsey Harris while Tory was still getting out of the car. He says somehow Tory got the gun and “started firing everywhere.”

If convicted, Tory faces 22 years in prison.

Tory Lanez Assault Trial Wanes On As Witness Says He Saw “The Girl Shoot First”

megan thee stallion tory lanez

Tuesday, December 20 marked day seven of the Tory Lanez assault trial. A man by the name of Sean Kelly was called to testify what he saw went down that summer night in 2020 between Megan Thee Stallion, Kelsey Harris, and Tory Lanez.

Kelly stated that he had seen the entire situation from his apartment window. He said that he had first seen an angry fight between two women, presumably Megan and Kelsey, and then Tory Lanez and his bodyguard got involved too. Kelly alleges that he saw the first gun flash go off “nearest to the girls… about the same time the smallest individual (Lanez) got out of the car.”

“I believe I saw the girl shoot first,” he added. “[But] I believed it was fireworks.” He then stated that he saw Tory Lanez begin shooting erratically.

“I just saw he was very angry, shouting, and then the flashes then came from him. I never saw a gun,” Kelly stated. “They were all fighting, so I just assumed he grabbed the gun.”

In a turn of events, he said the two men and one of the women began to beat up the other woman as she was crawling away. He said that it looked like they were going to throw her into the river.

“everyone was fighting — even the driver,” Kelly said. He added that even Lanez was “pushing and fighting both girls…then everyone started beating one girl. It appeared that they were going to throw her in the river.”

Tory is still facing felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. On Monday, December 19, prosecutors asked the judge to add charges of witness tampering to the case as well. However, this was quickly dismissed.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Ex-Best Friend Kelsey Harris Invokes 5th Amendment During Testimony, Says Original Claims Weren’t Accurate

kelsey harris

Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend, Kelsey Harris, testified on day 3 of the Tory Lanez shooting trial. Harris was supposed to back up the prosecutor’s story about Tory being the shooter, which she did, but repeatedly invoked her 5th amendment rights and said that her original claims about the incident were not entirely accurate.

Harris apparently invoked her 5th amendment right as her testimony began and requested immunity from prosecution. Harris would go on to invoke her 5th amendment right again when she was asked if Lanez had threatened to shoot her.

The prosecutor, Kathy Ta, was referring to a September interview where she had made the claim that Lanez had threatened to shoot her. The interview was played in court for the jury. “Do you remember in this interview with (another prosecutor) and myself, that you mentioned he threatened to shoot you?” Ta asked Harris.

Harris added that her recollection of the events that occurred the night of the shooting was “blurry” because she, Megan, and Tory had been drinking heavily at Kylie Jenner’s house. Harris went on to testify that Lanez began to flirt with Jenner and Megan was ready to leave. She claims that they had left, but returned once Megan realized she had forgotten a slipper.

Apparently when they got back, Meg, Kelsey and Tory got into an argument and got into a car where the argument continued. She added that Lanez began to talk about his sexual relationship with Megan.

“I don’t know what’s going on,” Harris said. “He’s just saying that they had a relationship, they were having a relationship. An argument ensues and just continues. Me and her are arguing about her disloyalty.” Harris also denied that she had taken any hush money from Tory.

Contrary to her September interview, Harris said on the stand that she did not see Tory with the gun.

Harris is expected to return to the stand today 12/15.

Ben Simmons Responds To Claims That He Slept With Megan Thee Stallion With ‘False Accusations’ Meme

Ben Simmons Returns to Philly

The trial between the state of California vs. Tory Lanez over the 2020 shooting incident of Megan Thee Stallion began yesterday. Already the case is heating up after the defense revealed some previously unknown information to the jury, and some information regarding Brooklyn Nets point guard Ben Simmons.

According to the defense, Tory Lanez told Megan’s former best friend Kelsey Harris that the Traumazine artist had been going behind her back and sleeping with the same men that her best friend slept with. Tory included himself, DaBaby, and Ben Simmons in that list of men.

Shortly after the internet found out that Ben Simmons had been sleeping with Meg and Kelsey, the Brooklyn Nets star decided to take to Instagram where he shared a recent meme of Rick Ross screaming “Accusations! False accusations,” during an AEW wrestling promo.

While prosecutors try to establish that Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion in the feet and yelled “dance bitch” out of the car, the defense is saying that there is a lot to the story that the prosecution is withholding. The defense argues that Lanez, Kelsey, and Megan were at Kylie Jenner’s house, and Meg and Kelsey got mad at Tory when she saw him in the pool with Kylie. Meg however caused a scene and Kylie told her to leave.

The three got in the car and Tory questioned Kelsey why she was defending her friend even though Meg was going behind her back and sleeping with the same men she was involved with. A fight between the two former best friends would ensue, and the rest is history.

Stay tuned for updates

Tory Lanez Legal Team ‘Confident’ That He Will Beat Charges From Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case

Tory Lanez Violated Megan Thee Stallion's Restraining Order By Performing At Rolling Loud, According To Prosecutors

Tory Lanez has a lot to lose if convicted on all charges stemming from his 2020 shooting case involving Megan Thee Stallion. While Lanez defends his innocence ad Megan claims that he shot her, the truth will be revealed during their trial, which has already been postponed since earlier this year. However, Lanez’s lawyer is “confident” that the jury will find his client not guilty.

George Mgdesyan, Tory’s lawyer, told the press that he expects the jury to find his client innocent.

“We are confident that at the conclusion of this trial the truth will come out and Mr. Peterson will be exonerated of all charges,” Mgdesyan said.

Tory then reiterated his lawyers comments, and tweeted “NO WEAPON AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER.”

“I’m going to leave this here one more time …and watch how it ages … NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER,” Lanez tweeted. “… AND EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST ME IN JUDGEMENT SHALL BE CONDEMNED u sit and watch now …. And don’t ever question the GOD I serve again.”

Earlier this week it was reported that prosecutors hit Tory with a third charge in relation to the 2020 shooting. Tory had previously been charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm and another for carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle charge. Following a recent court appearance, Tory was also hit with a charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Tory Lanez Hit with Third Felony Charge in the Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case

Judge Prohibits Tory Lanez From Attending Events Megan Thee Stallion Is Going To Be At

Tory Lanez has been hit with a third felony charge in the 2020 shooting case against Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez, who has pleaded not guilty to two previous charges for shooting the multiplatinum artist in the foot in 2020—assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm—was hit by prosecutors with a felony negligent discharge of a firearm charge.

Here’s some quick background on the case: Tory was arrested in July 2020 when he was pulled over and arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in his vehicle. On July 15, 2020, Megan posted the following to her Instagram, “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm
me,” Stallion wrote. “I was never arrested; the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.” In September 2020, Tory dropped Daystar, where he  asserted his innocence and casted doubt on whether Stallion was shot. In October 2020, the
Los Angeles D.A.’s office charged Tory with felony assault with a semi automatic weapon. One week later, a judge hit Tory with a protective order, requiring Tory to stay at least 100 yards away from Megan. In July of that same year, Tory violated the order when he attended the Rolling Loud Festival.

According to California Penal Code 246.3, negligent discharge of a firearm is outlined under  is a crime for a person to willfully discharge a firearm in a grossly negligent manner and shooting it could have resulted in great bodily injury or the death of another individual. Lanez has pleaded
not guilty to two previous charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm, for shooting Megan in the foot in 2020. If Lanez is convicted, the Canadian rapper could face more than twenty- two years in prison.

Jury selection has begun, and opening statements are set for next week.

[WATCH] Lawyer Says Eyewitness Saw 2 Men, 1 Female Attacking Megan, Woman May Be Shooter

Screen Shot 2022 04 06 at 8.04.56 AM

One of the most impactful legal voices to weigh in on legal and criminal cases in Hip Hop is Moe Gangat, who has given his POV on cases such as NBA YoungBoy and Casanova 2X, but Gangat has some integral speculations about the Megan Thee Stallion/Tory Lanez case that many may find shocking.

According to Gangat’s IG post, “Two extremely interesting facts that came out about the Tory Lanez case”. “First, the police have admitted into evidence, they’ve testified, that the other woman who was involved here, they tested her hand for gunpowder shot residue, and she had gun powder residue on it, suggesting that she may have been the shooter. Number two, there was an eyewitness, somebody who was a third party who saw the whole thing and he said, ‘I saw two men and another woman beating on Meg.’ As for who pulled the trigger? He said, ‘I don’t know but I did see the muzzle flash go off and the other woman was the one closest to the muzzle flash.’”

During yesterday’s hearing, Lanez was cited for violating the no contact order with Megan Thee Stallion handed down by the judge. He was taken into custody and forced to pay a $350 bail in order to be released.

The case will resume on September 14.
