Julio Jones Joins Tampa Bay Bucs on One-Year Deal

Tom Brady has a new target this coming season. Veteran wide receiver Julio Jones will be playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season after signing a one-year deal with the team. Jones joins the Bucs after a lackluster stint with the Tennessee Titans.

Jones now joins a wide receiver room with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller, and newcomer Russell Gage.

Jones began his career playing for the Atlanta Falcons, where he is the franchise leader in catches, yards, and second n touchdown receptions.

Tom Brady Calls Pusha T’s ‘It’s Almost Dry’ Album Of The Year

Tom Brady NFL

Pusha-T isn’t the only one saying that It’s Almost Dry is the album of the year.

Tom Brady used Pusha T’s Kanye-produced song “Dreaming Of The Past” as background music in a promotional video for his new apparel line, BRADY Run. Push then responded to the video, once again declaring It’s Almost Dry, rap album of the year.

“Wow, @TomBrady really listening to the rap album of the year!!!” Push Tweeted. “#ItsAlmostDry#DreamingOfThePast !! Check him out…”

Tom Brady, who in recent years has been more active on social media and developing a brand outside of football, gave Push a cosign, tweeting that the Virginia Beach MC’s latest album is in fact, “Album Of The Year!”

Push then took to Instagram where he posted Brady’s cosign, with the caption “BRADY SAID WHAT HE SAID!!”

While this might be Push’s first major cosign from someone outside of music, this certainly isn’t the first time Push has given the “album of the year” distinction to It’s Almost Dry.

During his concert at The Novo in Los Angeles, last month, Push declared his Pharrell and Kanye-produced album, “rap album of the motherf*cking year,” adding “they can’t f*ck with me!” It’s Almost Dry also became Push’s first #1 charting album having sold 50k copies in its first week.

Tom Brady isn’t talking retirement again right now, but he has secured that retirement bag already. During an earnings call on Tuesday, Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced that Brady would be joining Fox Sports when he retires, taking the role of lead NFL analyst.

Fox’s play here is to make Brady the face of their NFL coverage. While Brady is excited about the new opportunity, he knows he has unfinished business on the football field to deal with first.

Murdoch said that Brady “will not only call our biggest NFL games with Kevin Burkhardt but will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives.” Murdoch also said that the timeline for Brady to join Fox Sports is uncertain, likely meaning that he hasn’t revealed to Fox when he’s going to retire permanently.

Brady pumped-faked everyone when he announced retiring shortly after the Super Bowl. Weeks later, he changed his heart and said he would be back for another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With his retirement plans in order, Brady can focus on championship number 8.

As you may know, Tom Brady’s retirement lasted all of two months. When the greatest football player of all-time retired, his friend and one of his most notable rivals, Peyton Manning, penned a letter congratulating him on his career. Now Manning is joking about that letter, saying he wants it back.

“I want the letter back,” Manning said at an event hosted by The MINT Collective on Saturday. “You got to read all these nice things, I want it back. I want the bottle of wine back, too.”

Tom Brady Announces He Is Coming Out Of Retirement

Brady

I’m not sure of the Guinness world record for the shortest retirement stint, but you’ll have to consider Tom Brady’s. After the 2021-2022 season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback called it quits. Tom made his retirement official on February 1, and 40 days later, he made it unofficial.

Brady took it to Twitter to share his thoughts on being out of football and reflecting on coming up short of a Super Bowl last season.

Last season, Brady finished completing 67.5 percent of his passes in 2021 for 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns. He also led the Bucs to a record of 13-4 and a trip to the divisional round where they lost 30-27 to the eventual champs, the Los Angeles Rams.

During his 21 season, Brady will turn 45 during training camp. He has played in 365 games, won 278 of them, including 35 in the playoffs. There have been 67 game-winning drives and 710 touchdowns.

SOURCE SPORTS: Tom Brady Is Coming Out Of His Short-Lived Retirement To Run It Back With The Buccaneers

Tom Brady NFL

Tom Brady had a change of heart and is officially coming out of retirement. Brady took to social media to announce his short-lived retirement from the NFL is over, and he will indeed run it back for his 23rd season in league with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In a statement Sunday evening, Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said the team had been preparing for the announcement in recent days.

“We are thrilled that Tom has decided to come back this season,” Licht said. “We said we would leave all options open for him should he reconsider his retirement and today’s announcement is something we have been preparing for in recent days. Bruce and I have had plenty of conversations with Tom recently that led us to believe there was a realistic chance he would want to come back. Tom is the greatest quarterback of all time who is still playing at an elite level. With this decision now made, we will continue to move forward with our offseason plans to reload this roster for another championship run.”

Brady sees the landscape in the NFC isn’t that strong, and the possibility to return to the playoffs and Super Bowl is a lot easier in the NFC. The Buccaneers can now assemble a championship roster again via free agency and the upcoming NFL draft.

The Weeknd Is Releasing A Series Of NFT Collectibles On Tom Brady’s Autograph Platform

This past October, The Weeknd said on his Apple Music show Memento Mori that his next album is “complete,” but that some additions needed to be made before release. “Some exciting features coming out in the fall before the album drops,” he said. “We’ll slowly be unraveling that info in the next couple months.” Well, we just caught wind of an exciting feature, although it seems as though this is more closely related to the recent diamond certification of “Blinding Lights” than the next album.

In a newly-announced NFT collectibles series, The Weeknd and Billboard are releasing a 7-piece animated series that celebrates the song’s designation as “The No. 1 song of all time.” At 90 weeks, the song became the longest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 and the news was announced on the cover of Billboard magazine. The cover is one of the seven collectibles, which is available to view on the NFT platform, Autograph, which was co-founded by Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s being auctioned off on OpenSea, which dubs itself “the world’s largest NFT marketplace.” A statement on the collection elaborated on each piece in the collection:

“The 7-piece, animated collection is composed of four designs, including a single NFT featuring The Weeknd’s recent cover on Billboard Magazine, which first announced the news of his record-breaking achievement, and three digital trading cards creatively inspired by the iconic “Blinding Lights” music video. The digital trading cards will be released in three tiers of rarity, and each of the collection’s unique, culturally-significant collectibles is individually signed to allow fans the opportunity to own a defining moment in music history as never before, from one of today’s most influential artists.”

For what it’s worth, The Weeknd is now a part of the Board of Directors at Autograph. The auction began on December 20 and continues until December 23 at 1 PM EST. All of the bidding is done via the ETH cryptocurrency. Take a look at the magazine cover NFT below and view the whole collection here.

Freddie Gibbs Loved That Tom Brady Used One Of His Songs To Celebrate A Win Over The Indianapolis Colts

For a few years now, Tom Brady has used social media to recap the football games he’s won with both the New England Patriots and, now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These recaps usually feature a motivational message from the football player followed by some highlights, usually with a song from a popular artist playing in the background. For this past Sunday’s win against the Indianapolis Colts, Brady recapped the game with a video that featured Freddie Gibbs and Big Sean’s “4 Thangs” in the background. Gibbs caught wind of this development and took to social media to celebrate.

Gibbs reposted Brady’s video on Instagram and wrote, “Tom Brady bout to turn me to a Bucs fan [laughing emoji].” He also reposted the video on Twitter, writing, “My dog TB12!!!”

Gibbs, who hails from Gary, Indiana, has spoken about his distaste for the Indianapolis Colts for well over a decade, as tweets from 2010 prove. “I fux wit DA BEARS and anybody that’s that’s playin the f*ckin colts,” he wrote in one tweet while another simply read, “F*ck the colts.” Gibbs also once wrote, “All y’all n****z from Gary that know y’all grew up as BEAR fans please stop d*ck ridin’ the colts cuz they in the super bowl.” This is in reference to the Colts’ Super Bowl matchup against the New Orleans Saints, in 2010 which they lost by a score of 31-17.

Freddie Gibbs is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
