Previously, Dane had gone viral for saying that she believed Red was an industry plant. The intent of Red, per Dane, was to “destroy” the image of Black women. Citing Red’s outspoken demeanor and overt sexuality, Dane said “This is the reason why it’s time to seperate as Black women. Because there ain’t no way I’m about to be associated with that and Sukihana.” Dane’s video has since been deleted.

Dane’s original video had sparked a wider conversation about elitism within the Black community. While battle lines were drawn and people took both sides of the issue, many argued that women like Dane were the real problem. Alabama has posted one other video since the news broke, which is an outtakes video of her thirst trap posting.

No details have emerged about the specific nature of the family emerged. All that is publicly available is that earlier this week, Blink-182 postponed shows in Glasgow, Dublin, and Belfast. Fans were quick to point out that PinkyDoll, real name Fedha Sinon, was much darker IRL than she appeared in her content. This led people to speculate that the content creator was utilizing lighting and makeup to lighten her skin to garner more attention online. While Sinon is a Black woman, there have long been arguments that lighter-skinned Black women find more success compared to their darker-skinned counterparts.

PinkyDoll addressed these claims in a conversation with TMZ. “Well you know, when I go into the sun, I get a little darker. But I love to be a Black woman, what can you do?” she began. “I think they are just hating.” The interviewer quickly moved on to a different topic without challenging PinkyDoll’s answer. During a stop on his tour over the weekend he delivered some thoughts in between songs. “Let me shout it out to all you rappers trying to play mystery man: stop f*ckin’ up your legacy. Get on this godd*mn stage, man.” He seemed to be suggesting that rappers who disappear from the spotlight later in their careers aren’t doing any service to their legacy or to hip hop at large.

The caption over the TikTok claimed that this was shade directed at Jay-Z, and many in the comments agreed. “LL is arguably more important to hip hop than Jay z ever was,” reads the top comment on the post. “Jay z couldn’t out battle LL if he tried know the difference,” agrees another.
