At long last, we have a new Cardi B album on the way, following her 2018 debut Invasion Of Privacy. As for what the project’s like, allow Cardi to explain.

Cardi had a mini Q&A session with the official Threads account on Threads yesterday (March 21), and one of the questions (more of a prompt, really) was, “Describe your upcoming album in one word.” Cardi responded, “Different. I think it’s different. I think there’s going to be some songs that are, like, not expected to come from me.”

Threads also asked, “How have you surprised yourself in the past year?” Cardi replied, “I’m not going to talk about last year. I’m going to talk about this year. Um I have been surprising myself with like letting my anxiety break. Being more out there. Being more open. Hopefully I could be more social in person. So yeah. That’s one thing. Breaking my anxiety has surprised me.”

Another question was, “What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?” Cardi answered, “Well, I feel like something that people are surprised to learn about me is that I’m very introverted. Like, a lot of people can be, like, I’m very shy in person, or a lot of people think that I’m like… I don’t know what it is, mean or something, but it’s like everybody will be like, ‘Yo she’s so fun. She’s so funny. She’s so good to be around,’ and everybody says that about me, and it’s just like, I guess, that’s something that people find surprising about me.”

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Cardi B Expects Fans To Be Surprised By Her New Album

It’s been a lengthy 6 years since Cardi B released her debut studio album Invasion Of Privacy. The rapper and pop star broke through on the back of numerous hits like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It” and “Bartier Cardi.” Though she’s released a number of hit singles in the years since her fans can’t help but feel they’ve waited long enough for a follow-up. Cardi first began teasing a new album last year, though she eventually revealed it wouldn’t be dropping in 2023. But now she’s entering full-on album mode and having already released two singles from the project she’s discussing elements of its sound.

Earlier this week, Cardi did a series of questions and answers with fans on Threads. It was actually the official Threads account itself that asked one of the most insightful questions. They wanted to Cardi to describe the new album in just one word. “Different. I think it’s different. I think there’s going to be some songs that are like not expected to come from me,” she replied. Though she doesn’t elaborate any more on what specifically she means by that, it still got fans even more excited for the new record. Check out her full answer to the question below.

Cardi B has released two new singles from the album so far this year. She started with the “Like What (Freestyle)” which arrived on the back of quite a bit of hype. But the song was ultimately met with just mixed reviews from fans. That wasn’t the case with the second single “Enough (Miami).” That track landed over the weekend and instantly became a new fan favorite.

She’s already getting some mileage out of the song less than a week after its release. She did a special From The Block performance of it that dropped earlier this week. What do you think of Cardi B claiming that her new album will surprise people? What kind of sounds do you expect she will play with that fan’s aren’t expecting? Let us know in the comment section below.

Elon Musk & Twitter Threaten Threads With Legal Action

Twitter has not been particularly great ever since Elon Musk took over last year. Overall, a lot of people are unhappy with the direction of the website. Additionally, there have been some bizarre choices made over the last little while. For instance, last weekend, some Twitter users couldn’t see more than 600 tweets per day. It was a ridiculous rule and not a lot of people were buying Elon’s explanation for it all. Now, however, everything seems to be back to normal, but people are still suspicious of the website.

This past week, Meta launched Threads, their new social media that is meant to replicate Twitter. Overall, people aren’t vibing that hard with it. Sure, a lot of people have signed up, but that is because you can do so through Instagram. Regardless, Twitter is already taking action against Threads. According to CNN, a lawyer for Elon Musk named Alex Shapiro has written a letter addressed to Mark Zuckerberg about Meta’s alleged practices.

Elon Musk Speaks

Shapiro is saying that Meta has participated in “systematic, willful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.” Furthermore, Shapiro claims that former Twitter employees were hired to work on Threads and that they are using secrets to replicate Twitter’s success. Since these allegations surfaced, Meta has denied all claims that they hired former Twitter employees. As for Musk, he took to Twitter, saying “competition is fine, cheating is not.”

At this point, Twitter has carved out a pretty huge lane for itself and it would be hard for any social media to take that away. Meta is very good at doing Instagram and it is very good at doing Facebook. However, Twitter is its own thing entirely, and for better or for worse, expect the app to stick around for the long haul. That said, let us know if you have been using Threads, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the tech world and beyond. We will always keep you informed.

TikTok Launches Its New Music Streaming Service

Social media apps have been in the news a lot recently as some make some major moves. Now TikTok is joining the party as they’ve launched their new music streaming service. According to XXL, the app is “a new kind of service that combines the power of music discovery on TikTok with a best-in-class streaming service.” Additionally the app is intended as a competitor for fellow streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Consequently, it features a discovery mode full of music from the trio of major record labels who have licensed their music to the service.

The app is intended to help speed up the music discovery process. It also claims that while streaming will be a premium priority, it can also provide artists and rightsholders with a more significant portion of their revenue. Later, the app is expected to include features like ad-free high quality streaming and downloading music for offline listening. Fans in the US dying to try TikTok Music will have to wait a bit longer. The initial launch is only in Brazil and various Asian markets serving as a test of the apps capabilities.

The release of TikTok Music comes right on the heels of the release of Threads. Meta, the company who owns Instagram just introduced its new app Threads as a competitor to Twitter. Obviously the app immediately saw a flood of celebrities and brands rushing to the platform. Consequently Usher may have delivered the first truly viral Threads post earlier today.

The continued existence of TikTok itself was called into question earlier this year. Back in April, lawmakers in Montana voted to band the platform. Issues with the platform were raised by politicians who believed its Chinese leadership could gain access to user data. Subsequently, TikTok challenged the ruling in an ongoing legal case. What do you think of TikTok testing a new music streaming app? Let us know in the comment section below.

Threads App: Launch Date, Instagram, iOS, Android & More

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is set to launch a new app called Threads. This app is being touted as Meta’s answer to Twitter and is expected to launch on Thursday, July 6th. The announcement comes at a time when Twitter, now owned by Elon Musk, is facing a mass exodus of users seeking alternatives.

What Is Threads App?

Threads, which is linked to Instagram, appeared in the Apple app store on Tuesday July 4th. This comes just two days ahead of the official launch. Meta has also launched a countdown website for the release. Meta describes the Threads app as a “text-based conversation” platform. This means that communities can come together to discuss a wide range of topics.

Users can follow and connect directly with their favorite creators and others who share the same interests. They can also build their own following to share their ideas, opinions, and creativity with the world. Screenshots suggest that users will be able to use their Instagram handle to log in to Threads and follow their existing contacts.

Threads: User Interface And Features

The app’s user interface appears to share similarities with Twitter, including features like reposting, liking, and allowing users to limit who can reply to their posts. However, Threads is not the first app from Meta to bear this name. In 2019, Meta launched an app called Threads to compete with Snapchat, a youth-focused messaging app.

Competition And Market Scenario

Meta’s Threads will join a growing field of platforms, including BlueSky and Mastodon, that are competing to replace Twitter. This comes after Twitter, under Musk’s leadership, made the site more difficult for its estimated 250 million users to access. Twitter began requiring users to log in to view the site and imposed a limit on the number of tweets unverified accounts could view per day.

Privacy Concerns

One factor that may give users pause before signing up for Meta’s Twitter replacement is privacy. Threads can collect data related to your health, financial information, contact information, browsing history, location, and purchases, among other things. For comparison, BlueSky may link contact information, user content, and identifiers. Twitter says it can track users via purchases, contact information, location, contacts, and browsing history.
