Kendrick Lamar Urges Drake To Give Him Back Tupac’s Ring In “Euphoria” Lyric Remix

Kendrick Lamar lit the rap world on fire on Juneteeth. He put on an electric performance during the “Ken and Friends” concert. He not only brought out a staggering roster of guests, but he used his platform to take a few more shots at Drake. The Compton rapper performed the diss record “Euphoria,” and rather than stick to the script, he decided to tweak lyrics and send a new message directly to the 6 God. The message? Don’t ever disrespect 2Pac.

Kendrick Lamar got rid of the “Euphoria” line “Matter of fact, I ain’t even bleed him yet, can I bleed him.” In its place was a line far more scathing, and one that verified what we all suspected. He doesn’t respect Drake. “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect,” he rapped. The ring in question was bought by Drake back in 2023. The Toronto rapper purchased the artifact for $1 million, according to Billboard. He’s flaunted the ring on Instagram and worn it during several interviews. Drake made a similar purchase when he netted $2.6 million worth of Pharrell’s jewelry. He even flaunted the latter during the “Family Matters” video. Both of these purchases have not sat well with Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick Lamar Confirmed He Doesn’t Respect Drake

The Compton rapper has made it clear that 2Pac is a musical idol. The notion that Drake owns one of Pac’s prized possessions has informed some of Lamar’s angriest bars. “You think the Bay gon’ let you disrespect ‘Pac, n**ga?,” he asked on “Not Like Us.” Dot’s reverence for 2Pac dates back to before he started rapping. He claimed to have visited the set of the “California Love” video as a kid. Years later, he used a rare interview from ‘Pac to close out his legendary album To Pimp a Butterfly. Dot also penned a tribute to the late rapper in 2015. “I was 8 yrs old when I first saw you,” he recalled. “I couldn’t describe how I felt at that moment. So many emotions. Full of excitement. Full of joy and eagerness. 20 yrs later I understand exactly what that feeling was. Inspired.”

Kendrick Lamar brought the ‘Pac experience full circle during the “Pop Out” show. He invited Dr. Dre onstage, and together they performed “California Love” together. Dre rapped his verse, of course, and then Dot took over for 2Pac. Talk about carrying the torch. Kendrick Lamar’s love for 2Pac has taken a bit of a backseat in 2024. He’s dedicated the last six months to hating on Drake, and he continued to do so at the “Pop Up” show. Lamar sold t-shirts with a reference to his now iconic “New Ho King” bar from “Euphoria.”

By now, everyone should know that Rick Ross is not particularly fond of Drake. Overall, they found themselves at odds with one another over a cease & desist pertaining to a French Montana track. However, this ultimately led to diss tracks like “Push Ups” and “Champagne Moments.” Since the feud, Ross has continuously taken shots at Drake in the media. It has made for some hilarious moments, and there is no doubt that Ross has no plans to slow down.

For instance, Kendrick Lamar is hosting his “Pop Out” show in Inglewood, as we speak. There has been lots of speculation about who would be performing. White Kendrick Lamar Fans Roasted Online For Missing The Point Of “Not Like Us”

Kendrick Lamar and some of his best friends in the industry are currently performing at the KIA Forum. Overall, it has been a massive celebration of the west coast. Tommy The Clown popped out, while various artists like Bino Rideaux, Cuzzos, Rucci, Remble, and many others performed. At the time of writing this, DJ Hed’s set is still ongoing, however, Mustard will be coming up soon. That said, many fans are currently waiting for the man himself, Kendrick Lamar.

As you can imagine, many are hoping for K-Dot to perform “Not Like Us.” Some fans have even taken it upon themselves to make custom merch around the song. Below, you can see four fans who have “They Not Like Us” across the front of their shirts, and “Dot Fuck Em Up” across the back. Although one has to appreciate the effort, some couldn’t help but see the irony in these shirts. This is because the kids wearing the shirts are white, and the phrase “not like us” is explicitly referring to them.

Kendrick Lamar Fans Rep Their Own Merch

To be fair, the hook in “Not Like Us” has a couple of meanings. On the surface, it is simply a reference to Kendrick’s previous bars about Drake being an alleged predator. It is a way for Kendrick to separate himself and his friends from the alleged actions of Drake and his crew. However, the other meaning has to do with the various attacks Kendrick made against Drake pertaining to his cultural awareness. The song calls Drake a colonizer in the rap game. Not to mention, throughout the entire beef, Kendrick took shots at Drake for his background, and how he isn’t from the culture like Kendrick himself is. It’s way of looping Drake in with the white hip-hop fans who have a tendency to lose sight of how hip-hop got to where it is today. As many on social media noted, these white fans misinterpreting Kendrick’s lyrics is a perfect illustration of why a song like “Not Like Us” was needed in the first place.

Fans Weigh In

Let us know what you thought of the merch worn by these fans, in the comments section down below. Do you think that it lacked awareness to wear this merch? As for the show itself, what are you hoping to see from Kendrick Lamar and friends tonight? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Kendrick Lamar has kept rap fans fed since late March, when his feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” ignited a rap beef and diss track inferno (is that a phrase?) with Drake.

Peak excitement hit when Lamar, pgLang, and Free Lunch announced The Pop Out — Ken & Friends, a one-off concert at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on Wednesday, June 19.

When Will Kendrick Lamar Be On Stage For The Pop Out — Ken & Friends?

On Tuesday, June 18, DJ Hed posted the show’s lineup on X (formerly Twitter).

DJ Hed & Friends is scheduled to kick the show off at 4 p.m. PT, followed by Mustard & Friends at 4:45 p.m. PT and Lamar at 5:45 p.m. PT. It appears that the “& Friends” part of DJ Hed, Mustard, and Lamar’s respective sets will remain a surprise until show time.

Mustard, Sounwave, and Sean Momberger co-produced “Not Like Us,” Lamar’s ether of Drake that became his fourth-career No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Earlier Wednesday, June 19, Mustard shared five facts about “Not Like Us” with Billboard, including that he “did not sample” Nas’ “Ether.”

“I heard the song when everybody else heard it,” he said. “I never heard it before. I wasn’t in the studio with him. I had never heard that song.”
