Quavo Seen For The First Time Since Takeoff’s Funeral At Diddy’s Party

Diddy brought out all of the stars for his massive NYE bash in St. Barth’s including Quavo, who has understandably kept out of the public eye since early November.

The billionaire music mogul brought out all of the stars at the St. Barth‘s festivities. Though many of them, like Drake, appeared to have been on the island over the course of the week, they all rang in 2023 on Diddy’s yacht. The Bad Boy founder’s children joined him, along with his mother and Yung Miami. Additionally, artists like Fabolous, French Montana, Meek Mill, and Lil Baby joined in on the festivities.

Quavo was photographed alongside Meek Mill, Diddy, and Lil Baby, with whom he was rumored to have a feud. The Migos rapper appeared to be in good spirits throughout the night. Even Drake commented that he was “on one” after using an iced-out watch to tie his hair back.

Fans expressed their happiness to see Quavo outside following the tragic death of his nephew, Takeoff, in November. The rapper was last seen outside at Takeoff’s funeral on November 11th where he shared a heartfelt speech, which he later reposted on his Instagram page.

“Everyone felt [your] love and hugs while [you] were here and [you] made our dreams come true. Whenever you spoke, it manifested, when you said ‘God gonna do it,’ he did it. I’m just proud [to] be in your life. I’m proud to be ya uncle,” he wrote. “I’m proud we saw the world and done things we couldn’t ever imagine together. We laughed way more than we ever argued and when we did, I always was in the wrong every time… I guess mama made that rule too! I’m proud to say I’ve seen your blessings, I’ve seen you bless me, I’ve seen you bless mama, you blessed Shara, you blessed Treet, Heaven and Zeke.”

Takeoff’s Alleged Killer Was Denied A Second Bond Reduction From $1 Million

A Texas judge has denied a bond reduction request by Patrick Xavier Clark, the 33-year-old Houston resident accused of murdering Atlanta rapper Takeoff, according to Houston news. It was reported that at a hearing on Tuesday (December 27), Clark’s attorney Letitia Quinones requested to have Clark’s bond reduced from $1 million to $300,000 after previously having it dropped from $2 million. However, despite Quinones’ optimism that an appeal will eventually be successful, Judge Josh Hill has concerns — namely, that Clark could constitute a flight risk.

Those concerns are based on photos from Clark’s Instagram, in which he is seen holding large stacks of cash. He also had a “large amount of cash” on him when he was arrested, along with an itinerary for Mexico. This would seem to belie his family’s insistence that his job as a DJ couldn’t support the large bond amount; he also allegedly bragged on a jail phone that he could pay the larger $2 million amount. However, Quinones said that Clark complied with all of the judge’s requirements for a bond reduction, including securing a bonding service, completing an affidavit confirming his finances, and turning over his passport.

“We complied with every requirement that the judge asked of us, only to be told today that it will not be lowered,” Quinones said. “So yes, we are very disappointed, we disagree and we are surprised.”

Clark was identified as the potential killer after police found footage that appears to show him both holding and discharging a handgun at the bowling alley where Takeoff was shot in the head.

ABC Accidentally Shows Picture Of Quavo In Takeoff Tribute

At the end of every year, ABC does an “In Memorium” segment to honor the celebrities who have passed away throughout the months prior.

Airing on Monday (December 26), this year’s segment honored late figures like Olivia Newton-John, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Coolio, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and more.

However, the network made a critical mistake. When the tribute for Takeoff appeared on the screen, it was unfortunately a photo of his uncle, Quavo, instead.

Evidently, fans were quick to notice and subsequently took to social media to air out their thoughts.

“ABC, count your f*cking days. These mother f*ckers really put a picture of Guavo and said RIP Takeoff! Like whyyyyyyy. Smh. Whoever put that slide show together needs to be fired,” says one user.

“Yo @ABC whoever you have reviewing the yearly tribute to all the famous people who died this year needs to get fired, had a pic of Quavo in place of Takeoff,” writes another.

“So I’m watching #TheYear on @abc and was caught off guard by the disrespect and ignorance of the programming. All black people don’t look the same and y’all got this one wrong, the person [in] the picture is clearly, clearly Quavo[.] Do better,” says another Twitter user.

The Apology

The network has since apologized for the mistake. Additionally, they have also updated the photo to be one of Takeoff. In a tweet posted on Tuesday (December 27), they made sure to correct it. “We apologize for the unfortunate error in a previous version of ‘The Year: 2022.’ It has been corrected,” the tweet reads.

It’s been nearly two months since the late Migos rapper‘s tragic murder in November following a fatal shooting at a private event in Houston. The “Last Memory” rapper was only 28 years old.

The alleged shooter, Patrick Clark, has since been arrested and charged with murder. Earlier today, a judge denied yet another request for a bond reduction by Clark’s legal team. His bond remains set at $1 million.

Takeoff’s Alleged Killer: Home Before the New Year?

Fi 7TqQXEAwD5jR 480x400 1

Takeoff’s alleged killer, Patrick Xavier Clark, could be home in just a few days.

According to reports, Clark’s attorney has filed for another bond reduction. The Eighth Amendment’s Constitutional protections against “excessive bail,” as well as the federal Bail Reform Act, give a defendant the right to request lower bail when the amount initially set by the court is too high to pay and would effectively be a denial of bail and order of pretrial detention. Clark’s bond was initially set at $2 million and then reduced to $1 million. His legal team is attempting another reduction at around $300,000. Should the judge grant this reduction, Clark will be home before the New Year. Furthermore, Clark will be instructed to turn in his passport upon his potential release. He will be assigned a GPS monitoring device that will immediately notify authorities if bond conditions are violated.

A bail bondsman stated during the hearing on Tuesday that Clark’s family has already put up their Texas home as collateral.

Typically, a judge sets the initial bond or bail at an amount based on the severity of the alleged crime, whether the defendant poses a flight risk if released, and whether the defendant poses a risk to the community if released. The judge can also look at additional factors, such as the defendant’s character, physical and mental condition, family and community ties, and financial resources.

In this case, there are concerns regarding Clark and his bond reduction application. Clark was arrested with his passport and tickets to Mexico, making him a flight risk in the eyes of the court. Clark’s request to hire a private investigator was approved, and this same investigator reported to the court that the tickets to Mexico had been canceled a few days before Clark’s arrest.

The chances of getting a bond reduction depend on several factors, including the defendant’s current charges, past criminal history, financial resources, and character. The ability and skills of a defendant’s defense attorney will also make a big difference. Ultimately, judges decide these matters on a case-by-case basis, so it’s not a statistic easily reduced to a number.

Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, was killed over an alleged dice game outside Houston’s 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley on November 1st. A subsequent bond hearing for Clark is set for Wednesday morning.

Takeoff’s Alleged Killer Denied Another Bond Reduction

It’s been nearly three months since the tragic and sudden death of Takeoff. In the early morning of November 1, the 28-year-old was shot and killed while at a private party in Houston.

The fatal shooting allegedly stemmed from an altercation over a dice game.

Authorities have since been successful in identifying the alleged shooter as Patrick Clark. He has subsequently been arrested and charged with murder in the case.

The upcoming trial is evidently causing some financial issues for the suspect. Shortly after his arrest, reports indicate that he requested money from the judge in order to hire a private investigator. The judge has since awarded him $5,000 in order to do so.

Earlier this month, the judge set Clark’s bond at $2 million. After his lawyer argued that the number was an excessive amount, the judge lowered it to $1 million. However, the alleged shooter’s attorneys still believe the seven-figure number is too high.

Nonetheless, a further request to lower the bond has reportedly been denied on Wednesday (December 28). Clark’s attorneys want the bond set at $330,000. They say his family members are preparing to cover his bond if the lowering takes place. However, it appears as though this won’t be happening.

The judge reportedly labels Clark as a flight risk if let out on bail. He was allegedly preparing to fly to Mexico after the murder. Upon his arrest, authorities discovered his passport and an itinerary for the country on his person.

Additionally, the judge has some evidence supporting the fact that Clark actually can afford the bond payment. This includes social media posts in which he’s posing with large sums of money, as well as alleged phone calls where he states that he could cover the original $2 million bond.

Long Live Takeoff.

Takeoff’s Suspected Killer Wants To Have His Bond Reduced Again From $1 Million

Patrick Xavier Clark, the 33-year-old Houston man accused of shooting and killing Migos rapper Takeoff on November 1 of this year, appeared in court on Tuesday (December 27) as his attorneys moved to have his bond lowered from $1 million to $300,000, according to ABC News. It was set at $1 million after a successful bid to have it reduced from $2 million. Clark’s lawyer feels the $300,000 figure is more appropriate, as the accused’s family can put a home up as collateral to secure his release.

However, prosecutors argue that Clark has hidden some financial assets and constitutes a flight risk if released from jail. This belief stems from a jail phone call in which Clark allegedly claimed that he could pay the $2 million. Of course, should he receive the lowered bond and have a bondsman issue a bond for him, if he does flee, it’ll cost his family their house.

Houston police identified Clark as a suspect using footage from the incident in which he can allegedly be seen holding a gun and firing it, while fingerprints place him at the scene. He also apparently searched for his name online the next day, which could suggest he expected or feared he would be associated with the shooting somehow. Meanwhile, ABC News drew criticism this week after its year-in-review program used a photo of Quavo mislabeled as his nephew Takeoff.

ABC Is Facing Harsh Backlash After Mistakenly Paying Tribute To Late Migos Member Takeoff With A Photo Of Quavo

While recapping the events of the past year last night (December 28), producers of ABC’s The Year: 2022 made a rather embarrassing mistake. When honoring rapper Takeoff during the program’s In Memorium portion, a picture of his Migos bandmate, Quavo, was shown. As one could expect, fans were not thrilled about the mix-up.

“So I’m watching #TheYear on @abc and was caught off guard by the disrespect and ignorance of the programming,” said one Twitter user. “All black people don’t look the same and y’all got this one wrong, the person is the picture is clearly, clearly [Quavo], do better.”

Another Twitter user said the mistake shouldn’t have occurred, given that Quavo had a long, prolific run of notable guest verses a few years ago, and should therefore be easily recognizable.

“This sh*t lame as hell,” they said. “This man Quavo was the face of popular music 3-4 years straight. Ain’t no way y’all confused this man for Takeoff.”

After several fans voiced their chagrin about the mistake, ABC corrected the video and has since issued a statement on social media.

“We apologize for the unfortunate error in a previous version of ‘The Year: 2022,’” said ABC News Studios in a tweet. “It has been corrected.”

Offset Acknowledged It’s ‘Not Easy’ To Go On Without Takeoff In His Latest Heartbreaking Tribute

The holiday season is particularly difficult for people who are grieving, and Offset’s grief is particularly fresh. Takeoff, his cousin and fellow Migos rapper, was fatally shot as an innocent bystander when an altercation allegedly broke out at a private event outside 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston on November 1. Takeoff was there with Quavo, his uncle and Migos collaborator. The 28-year-old was laid to rest in his native Atlanta on November 11.

In the months leading up to Takeoff’s tragic death, he and Quavo had branched away from Migos to form the duo Unc & Phew, releasing their Only Built For Infinity Links album on October 7. But while Offset and Takeoff had grown apart musically, their personal bond remains unquestionable. Offset shared an open letter to Takeoff in mid-November and has continued to tribute him, even dedicating his Art Basel concert to Takeoff earlier this month.

On Wednesday, December 21 — one week after celebrating his 31st birthday with his wife, Cardi B — Offset again took to Twitter. “Sh*t not easy fake smiling and sh*t tryna keep walking with my head up,” he posted alongside a photo of Takeoff. Offset also tweeted a photo of Takeoff on Monday, December 19.

On December 1, 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested and charged with the murder of Takeoff. Clark’s bond was set at $2 million, as ABC News reported that “prosecutors argued that Clark posed a high flight risk because he had purchased tickets to Mexico two days before his arrest and applied for an expedited passport.” Cameron Joshua, also known as Lil Cam or Lil Cam 5th, was additionally charged in connection to the case. Last week, Clark reportedly filed a motion to reduce his bail to $100,000.
